421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I lost all my crypto gains this not fair! on: August 04, 2021, 01:32:37 PM
Since there has been a decrease in the price of many investors suffered losses, and rest assured that the coin you are holding at this time will certainly increase even though it does not happen in the near future but the achievement of the new ATH must repeat in this year, for now is not the right time to choose a coin because the price increase can not be relied on because the price increase only occurs for a moment and now the coin price starts to fall back ,and rest assured it's not over yet.

As long as you are not selling your coins, theoretically you are not at a loss. And in the world of cryptocurrency, where wild fluctuations are very common, unrealized profits and losses should be mentioned with extreme caution. But that doesn't mean that you should blindly hold on to coins or tokens, irrespective of their future potential. Established coins such as BTC, ETH, ADA and BNB can be held for the long term without any second thought. But the same can't be said about the new projects. They have a very high failure rate and in case their development has stagnated, then the best thing to do will be to get rid of them.
422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 04, 2021, 01:20:14 PM
We still have 4 days to go, although, major competition had taken place. China had always been arch rival at Olympic with USA, if they take a better position this time they deserve it. US will do everything to review the reason for the fall in position and I think the pandemic might also be responsible.

I don't think that they can blame the pandemic this time, because none of their star performers got tested positive inside the Games village. On the other hand, many of their competitor athletes from the other countries had to pull out for this reason. China is at 32 golds right now, with US trailing them at 25. I don't think it will be possible for the US to close the gap, especially after their poor performance in gymnastics and track and field. This time it is going to be one of the worst performances by the US team in the Olympics and I don't expect them to win more than 30-35 golds.

Stop discussing the previous match. The second match of Australia vs Bangladesh has started. Australia won the toss and elected to bat. But they lost the first wicket after collecting 13 runs. Alex Carey was dismissed for 11 off 11 balls. At the end of 4 overs, Australia collected 20 runs. Mehdi Hasan has taken 1 wicket with 3 runs in 2 overs.

Another pathetic performance from the Australians. With 5 overs to go, they are at 90/3. Australian batsmen (obviously with the exception of the ever reliable Mitchell Marsh) has once again failed against the Bangladeshi spinners (Mahedi Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan). Mahedi Hasan has so far conceded 3 runs from his 12 balls and picked up the wicket of Alex Carey. I am really perplexed. What makes him so much unplayable? If not for the partnership between Moises Henriques and Mitchell Marsh, Australia would have been in a pathetic situation now.

Neymar's golden generation won in 2016 and again successful this year without Neymar. The football event in the Olympics does not seem as famous as the FIFA event, but it is enough to provide entertainment for us. We look at the young players because I know the rules of Olympic football under 23 years old and 3 senior players. Of course I am happy to see Dani Alves able to lead young people and become champions. But the age under 23 does not seem to apply to women's football in the Olympics, their age is not limited.

This rule is to make sure that the main players don't miss on their club matches very often. With the women's teams, it is not necessary to apply this rule, as their club schedule is not very hectic. FIFA doesn't gain any profit from the football tournament at the Olympics. However, they have allowed it in order to spread the popularity of football and to increase the funding from various government agencies. The same approach has been taken by sports bodies such as FIH, FIBA.etc. However ICC (governing body of cricket) has taken a different approach and they have refused to include cricket in the Olympics. ICC has stated that they are not interested in spreading the game and inclusion in Olympics may cause monetary losses for them.

China looks very strong at the top of the medals table, with 32 golds. The team that made the most improvement this time is Australia (along with Japan). Back in Rio 2016, Australia had won 8 golds. And this time they have won 15 till now. Back in 2016, they were in the 10th position, while this time they are at 4th, above Great Britain and Russia. Asian teams in general have performed well, including China and Japan (South Korea seems to be an exception to this, as they have won less number of golds this time).
426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 04, 2021, 11:08:55 AM
Of course Australia and west indies far better than Bangladeshi cricket team but sometimes low perform team can beat any strong team . You already seen the Australia and west indies match where Australia beaten huge difference margin 4-1 . Can we easily guess that west indies ( weak ) beat Australia ( Strong) . So Bangladesh can beat Australia , that not a hard performance.

The difference was that Bangladesh was playing at home, and their main players (Shakib al Hasan, Mahmudullah.etc) were available for the match. Australians struggled to adjust with the conditions and they were missing some of their main players. And Australia did well when they were batting. The issue was that none of their batsmen, apart from Mitchell Marsh could handle the Bangladeshi spinners. For today's match, Bangladesh morale will be high and they will have an advantage. Australia is already down by 0-1.
427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 04, 2021, 06:31:18 AM
The situation could be different if any batsmen fought till the end. Marsh tries to stand up, but not enough to compete the total. Although I'm not sure if spin fear was the cause, Australia captain argues that his teams should be "brave" when it comes to facing Bangladesh's spin threat. Will the Tigers win this series or will the Aussies fight back hardly?

Given their performance against Bangladesh yesterday, I won't be surprised if Australia ends up losing the series. They lost the T20 series against West Indies by a big margin, and the same may happen this time as well. And the worst thing is that all this is happening just a couple of months before the T20 World Cup is about to start. Let's hope that by the time of the world cup, Australia will be able to perform better and players like Cummins, Warner and Smith will be available for selection.

We can't avoid such media hype because sometimes they mislead the audience from facts. But if you know the sports and you are closely following the event, you will understand that it is not what the media portrays. Anyway, I am grateful that despite the troubles brought by covid pandemic, this olympics event is about to finish. Many athletes have gotten their first gold even first gold for countries like Philippines.

Not everything has gone smoothly. Every day we are hearing news about athletes pulling out of Olympics, because they have tested positive for COVID. The latest news is that Greece has withdrawn from the artistic swimming competitions, after 4 of their athletes tested positive. 18 new cases of COVID were reported from the Olympic village yesterday alone, and most of them involved athletes. Till now a total of 294 individuals have tested positive inside the Games village. Japan as a whole is witnessing a major spike and the authorities have implemented emergency measures.

LOL.. look at the person who made the statement. Mairead McGuinness (European Union financial srevices commissioner), who is originally from Ireland. She comes from a country that is regarded as a safe haven for financial criminals and used as a base by corporate firms such as Amazon and Microsoft to evade EU taxes (Ireland is one of the 9 countries, that have refused to sign the OECD proposal for minimum corporate tax). I guess Ms. McGuinness is concerned that Ireland will lose its inflow of shady funds, if Bitcoin becomes more popular. I hope McGuinness will soon be kicked out of office and replaced by someone who is mentally stable.

Australia undoubtedly the best team in the cricket world where Bangladesh the last line team . But today Bangladesh beat Australia with 23 runs which already A headnews in the news channel. Australia would be backed soon , because they have strong batsman and bowlers , michel strack, Hazelwood and zampa already bowled better but only batsman played worse. They would have enough opportunities to feedback second match.

Australia was "undoubtedly the best team" a decade or so ago. That is not the case now. Remember how they performed when Smith and Warner got banned for a year? They don't have the depth in player pool, when compared to either India or England. Gone are the days when Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee and Shane Warne would gang up to destroy opposing teams. They don't have a good allrounder of the caliber of Shane Watson. And finally, although I agree that Steve Smith is perhaps the best test batsmen nowadays, his captaining skills are not as good as that of Michael Clarke.

The Japanese football team was one step away from reaching the final today, but unfortunately conceded the decisive goal 5 minutes before the end of added time. Now on August 6 we will see the match for 3rd place between Japan and Mexico, I think both teams will give their best as it will be a shame to take 4th place and be left without a medal at all.

Japanese team should be happy with what they have achieved. In the group stage, they managed to win all the games (including the one against Mexico, who are their opponents in the 3rd place playoff). In fact they were the only team in the group stage to finish with 9 points (even Brazil conceded a draw against Ivory Coast). Then they defeated New Zealand in the QF. In the semi-final match, they were tied at 0-0 after regulation time, but conceded a goal during the extra time. It would have been nice to see an Asian team in the finals. But they couldn't do that.

I saw this fight live, and I really think that if the classification was stolen from the Colombian, it is also necessary to highlight that the Japanese were taken out in a wheelchair, at least in the news on Caracol Tv they say that they stole the fight from the boxer.

What do you think of it?

Awarding points in boxing is always a controversial topic. There can be occasions where it is not very clear which boxer had the upper hand. In such cases, the scoring will depend on what the judges think. Ever since modern boxing moved from a knockout based system to a points based system, this has been the case. As such, there is no readymade solution. May be in the near future, artificial intelligence may become a reality and robots will be able to decide the points. Till then, the human error and uncertainty will be there in the boxing ring.
433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 03, 2021, 06:10:07 PM
Bangladesh is always a good team at home. And the pitch on the Mirpur field is spin helpful most of the time. Everyone knows this. Shouldn't the Australian management have sorted out the team considering these factors? Or did they not know that this pitch helps spinners? Australia is much better and more experienced than Bangladesh. Sorry, I can't accept that Bangladesh is taking home advantage.

In the end, it was just pathetic performance from the Australians. At this rate, the big 3 in the future will be comprised of India, England and New Zealand. Australia is losing to teams like Bangladesh and can't be considered as a part of the big 3. Look at the Australian team. They are a big zero without players such as David Warner, Aaron Finch and Steve Smith. Players like Matthew Wade have performed poorly on a consistent basis and yet manage to find a place in the playing XI. Apart from Mitchell Marsh, there is not a single consistent performer in the Australian team.

And this is a real proof that the bitcoin market is very strong, not affected by big companies and even banned from many countries, more than $750B marketcap certainly makes bitcoin not easy to get rid of.

If anything, the recent fluctuations show the weakness of Bitcoin. Hundreds of billions of USD in market cap was wiped out in a matter of few weeks, just because of a few tweets and rumors. Bitcoin market hasn't yet reached the required maturity and until then we will have to deal with such wild fluctuations. And remember that the statement from Amazon was interpreted as somewhat encouraging for the cryptocurrencies. Else, in all probability we would be having another round of bloodbath in the market.

Is this team Australia? seriously! Only 11 runs collected order lost 3 wickets. I'm still having trouble believing. Bangladesh formed a spin-dependent team. So far they seem to have succeeded. Let's see what will happen next.

LoL.. Bangladesh putting home advantage to good use. Their strategy of using the spinners early on seems to have rattled the Australians. You don't see very often in T20 cricket that the initial 5 overs were exclusively bowled by the spinners (Mahedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed and Shakib Al Hasan). It was a high-risk move taken by the Bangladesh captain (Mahmudullah), and they got rewarded for it. The run chase was supposed to be a cakewalk for the Australians. But now the match looks evenly poised.
436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 03, 2021, 02:20:28 PM
what happened to Argentina, they have only one bronze medal up to this point

LOL.. imagine the disappointment in my country. We are a nation of 1.4 billion people and till now we have 1 silver and 1 bronze to our name. The last time my country won a gold medal in Olympics was long back in Beijing 2008 (Abhinav Bindra, in Men's 10 m air rifle). Last time (Rio 2016) also we had one silver and bronze each. It is really disappointing to see the athletes not being able to win a single gold medal. Even small nations such as Kosovo and Croatia are winning multiple gold medals.
437  Economy / Economics / Re: On Cuba and economy on: August 03, 2021, 02:09:55 PM
I rested there 2 times - in 2010 and 2012. Believe me - this is recent, and now I am reading about what is happening, and I am sure that nothing has changed there. I will explain and argue. No matter how much we would like to expect changes in the Cubans, there are NO! They went out not to change the country, approaches, laws - they, no offense, as prisoners began to protest against even more bestial content, but not for freedom and justice!
Protest moods arose for 2 reasons: mortality from Covid increased significantly, and Cuban medicine (vaunted by the way, such as mega-effective, although everyone is trying to go to the USA, EU, Israel, ... for treatment anyway, ...) turned out to be powerless. Second, an additional drop in living standards has been added and, in fact, life is on the verge of starvation.
In total, this is a simple "animal" revolt, but not a desire for systemic changes.
Yes, it all sounds very offensive, but the truth can be like that ...

I guess hardly anyone else in this thread has visited Cuba, so I would give a higher weightage to your opinion. But it is sad. After so many decades of poverty and lack of opportunities, the ordinary people in Cuba want to maintain the status quo. But I can understand the apprehensions. Look at the former USSR. The regime that came after the fall of the Soviet Union was even more horrible (Boris Yeltsin in Russia, Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan, Leonid Kravchuk in Ukraine and Mircea Snegur in Moldova).
438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 03, 2021, 01:42:55 PM
Watching a match that is very boring. I don't see any boundary or over-boundary. Such a low boundary cannot be expected in a T20 match. Apart from Shakib and Naim, other players could not score properly At the end of 16 overs, Bangladesh scored 96 runs. They scored 96 runs from 96 balls. Run rate is 6.

What you were expecting actually? It was meant to be a lop-sided match and we got exactly that. But it was surprising to see Mitchell Starc conceding so many runs, after his stellar form in West Indies during the ODI series (he had picked 11 wickets in just three matches). But there was no breathing space for Bangladesh, as Josh Hazlewood destroyed the top and middle order. The spinners also bowled well, especially Adam Zampa (picked up the crucial wicket of Mohammad Naim. And as expected, Shakib Al Hasan top scored for the Bangladeshis.
439  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID advanced the world into the future on: August 02, 2021, 02:57:32 PM
The hospital is currently getting a big profit because of Covid, in my country almost everyone who gets sick and is checked at the hospital will become Covid, I have a neighbor who is 67 years old and he is often sick, when he has routine checks and has to test for Covid then he is declared positive .

At least in my country (India), that is not the case. The state governments have implemented strict daily thresholds on medical bills and therefore the hospitals can't charge beyond a certain limit. On top of that, the healthcare professionals are badly impacted by the pandemic, and a number of them have died so far. This has left many of the hospitals understaffed. I can't think of any sector in the economy, other than eCommerce business to some extent, that has benefited from the current COVID pandemic.
440  Economy / Economics / Re: If you can get paid through cryptocurrency, do you still choose fiat currency? on: August 02, 2021, 02:28:45 PM
As for me, this desire is somewhat ahead of reality. Well, ok, many have heard enough of how Bitcoin began to cost $ 60k, everyone believes that they will definitely get lucky and their $ 3,000 will turn into $ 10,000 without doing anything. But it is worth remembering the history and the real state of affairs with cryptocurrency - in 2018, many added gray hair and twitching eyelids ... What prevents people from going the way of minimizing risks and diversifying their incomes, if they really want crypto?

IMO, there is no point in paying the salaries in Bitcoin, when it is possible to easily convert our fiat savings to Bitcoin. And at least for tax purposes, it is always easier to purchase BTC with fiat, rather then doing the opposite. These sort of threads just act as clickbait and the OP himself know that the suggestion is not practical. And as you have mentioned, it is important to remember what happened in 2018, when the exchange rates went from $20,000 to $3,000. 90% of the Bitcoin users expect BTC to go up always and are ill-prepared when an extended phase of correction occurs.
