442  Economy / Economics / Re: Miami will launch its own cryptocurrency and reward users with bitcoin on: August 04, 2021, 02:31:04 AM
In June of this year, at the Wynwood's Mana Convention Center in Miami was held the "Miami Bitcoin 2021 Conference", which is the largest event in the history of cryptocurrency. This meeting delivered positive news. The cryptocurrency represented by Bitcoin has achieved a deeper consensus, and the legal status of Bitcoin has been more clearly determined. The Mayor of Miami has gained a reputation in the cryptocurrency community for his support of Bitcoin and the incentive plan designed to promote the adoption of digital assets throughout the city, and said that Miami will become the capital of Bitcoin and launch the city's cryptocurrency MiamiCoin.
According to reports, Miami will launch its own cryptocurrency MiamiCoin (MIA) on August 3 local time, to fund infrastructure projects or activities in the city and encourage people to move to Miami. MiamiCoin is built on the CityCoin platform, users will be able to mine MiamiCoin, borrow money, and even program it. The city government can earn cryptocurrency rewards while supporting the city, and token holders can also earn bitcoin income.
But the MiamiCoin project is experimental. Don’t know if it can bring income to the city and how does it allocate Bitcoin as a reward?
https://decrypt.co/77487/miami-cryptocurrency-miamicoin-launch-bitcoin-rewards?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sm

Since it is experimental all we have to do is wait for the outcome, oh wait it will take longer and we won't sure our wait time will be worth it. What if it failed and we've waited for 10 years long? I don't know how would they do it: gaining bitcoins just holding the city coin, but hey they could develop an app were your phone can share it's hash power to mine. Anyways coins that is centralized is somehow regulated so there's no much to think about, most traders here came to earn with volatility so it would just be another USDC,USDT type of coin.

444  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin truly evolve into super-sovereign currency? on: July 29, 2021, 03:57:28 PM
Revolution it is, the only reason for me to invest in Bitcoin is become rich in small amount of time or the other way-being extremely poor because of losing. It ain't created to be a super sovereign currency. I mean how could that be possible when it is so volatile you can barely feel your moneys worth in just hours it it crashes. This is a game changer and all people who are involved are somewhat players, win or lose, well that's why think it is.
445  Economy / Economics / Re: Which area will develop after the epidemic? on: July 28, 2021, 09:51:26 PM
Only in the last few years, China has become more and more a headache for many countries. Disputes over the South China Sea, annexation of Taiwan, dispute over India's border, maritime disputes with Japan, create economic debt traps for poor countries. Countries such as the US, the European region, the US, Japan, and India are changing their foreign policy with Southeast Asian countries. From investment, economic cooperation to military such as providing patrol boats, warships, ...

The results after the wars force leaders to have a cool head so that things do not go too far. Along with that is the economic control in the region when a wave of boycotts of China pours in. Many factories, production facilities, and economies are important and relocated to Southeast Asia. At the same time, countries such as the US, the European region, Australia, Japan, and India are also constantly promoting diplomatic relations such as donating maritime patrol boats to provide military weapons to create a balance against the enemy. China's unrelenting influence. During the epidemic, the market went sideways, AXS a product with a combination of Vietnam and Indonesia is creating great attraction. Suggesting you more about the nature of this area with the sea, mountains, and different cultural features is enough to make you feel alive. From my perspective, this will be an area that develops very quickly after the epidemic, leading to the development of new unicorns.
I see mini countries are doing better the greater ones, see the Country of Bhutan, they've manage to over come this epidemic smoothly. The thing is the people loves the ones who are controlling the government and they support him. In this pandemic, the only country who will most likely make it through and come back stronger and better are countries like Bhutan. We can clearly see how discipline, love for the country, and supporting the government makes a nation great.
446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Game with hidden Bitcoin on: July 28, 2021, 09:57:47 AM
Who Stole My Beard is a retro game that should be released on August 2nd 2021, it has hidden real Bitcoin inside and first player who solves the puzzle will get the prize, but I can't find exact information of exact amount of BTC.

There are 12 virtual scraps of paper in game and each of them is containing a single word, finding all worlds will give you seed phrase that you can import in Electrum wallet and claim your coins.

Game is developed by Cleardot Games aka Neil Collier from California, and you can find it on Steam store:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1141270/Who_Stole_My_Beard/

Quote
Your beard has been stolen! You and your loyal dog Leo must investigate the people and places of Beardsville to solve the crime. Uncover conspiracies, find new beards, and don't forget to pick up the groceries in this charming town of bearded intrigue.

About:
Set in the town of Beardsville, where the law requires every citizen to have a beard, you wake up one morning to the horror of all horrors...someone has stolen your beard! You and your loyal dog Leo must uncover the truth of this dastardly crime. Find new beards, help the community, look for clues, and discover a conspiracy deep in the heart of Beardsville. Can you solve the crime before the annual Beard Festival?

You can also read the reddit post by author peelman1978: claiming he wants to raise awareness of Biotcoin:
Quote
Anything to raise awareness of Bitcoin (and promote my passion project)...

Watch Official Trailer and good luck hunting that Bitcoin:
https://youtu.be/iklmYE4Efds

It's nice to see retro games coming back to life and aside from that the concept of Bitcoin being on it is awesome. Awareness is important as day by day it can help the community grow. Also the old generations are somehow stuck on playing old games rather than the latest videos out there.
The Beard concept also is funny and somewhat unique, a game that is simple yet somehow weird will surely attract nerdy and the old folks.
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how can i find alt coins before they explod on: July 27, 2021, 05:29:00 PM
so i havent invested anything in crpto YET (idk i want to see if bitcoin goes down lol il probly invest a bit into bitcoin and eth now tho) so yea as the title says how can i find alt coins that havent blown up.

ps im a total newb so any tips will be welcomed and thanked!  Smiley

It is really hard to find a coin that will somehow make it and bring you high up with your investment. Some even have good marketing strategy, famous influencers but sadly dis not make it.

Recent coins that have pop up are now somehow gaining popularity, most of I know are nft peojects which targets android users around the world and it really is making a positive out come. Look at how axie infinity and my defi pets mow, and base on my own research there are lots of same projects coming up. Mo
448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin anonymous? on: July 27, 2021, 05:44:07 AM
Is Bitcoin entirely anonymous? It’s common for people to say that in reality bitcoin is absolutely anonymous but are not knowledgeable enough to know that is pseudonymous . Bitcoin being pseudonymous rather than the assumed anonymous gives us an understanding that each user has a established public address. So that further tells us theoretically bitcoin address can be traced back using an IP address or an exchange account.
We should be more concerned about to what level or extent is bitcoin anonymous ?

Tracking through exchanges address is likely to happen if and only the exchange gives your credentials to the ones who are tracing you, or they themselves wants to track you. Since most legit and big exchange out there requires you to KYC for big amounts of withdrawal, and that will most likely to happen. So either use decentralized exchange or peer to peer.

regarding I.P. addresses, if you are aware if VPN then it will be no problem, creating new bitcoin wallet address and use it once. In our country there are 3rd party apps that lets you exchange your bitcoin with out you submitting KYC protocols, as long as it is in the minimum withdrawals of a thousand dollars.
449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin losing its importance on: July 27, 2021, 02:46:10 AM
in short. elon has not made any impact. so calm down and stop looking at the smallest scale movement and think they are huge because they fill up the whole gape of an hourly market

I almost believed that a single person can move the market, but now my perspective have changed. I thought his words really does have impact but when I see it on a different and much brighter side, it really is just a small wave and nothing much  to worry about.

Bitcoin importance is not lost, in fact it is still gaining popularity OP, the whole crypto market is based mostly on the founder, the source and origin and every time a project is created, there is still a part of Bitcoin that moved or inspired it somehow and it will not be lost until someone uses it's source code.
450  Economy / Economics / Re: What event could trigger new bull run and ATHs? on: July 26, 2021, 10:55:56 AM
I believe all of the reasons that OP stated on the original post are valid, it had certain impacts on the market big or small we can't deny it. Remember when Musk denied Bitcoin payments due to high fossil fuel usage for making transactions in the network, what damn reason and his company are burning way too much to produce his cars. Well the truth is the market was struck and got to where it is now. The current trends and global occurrences like wars etc are also factors, pandemic and other natural phenomenon. So much to add but the reason can also be unknown at certain times and people just go with the flow.
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why do you keep allcoins? on: July 26, 2021, 09:32:24 AM
many of us are aware that sometimes the coins that have recently gone up are quite drastic, even though we have made quite significant profits, but still hope that in the future it will rise more than the coins btt, doge and others rose from the golden age they have peaked now.

if that happens how long do you have to wait 2 years, 3 years, 5 years or...?

while new coins are popping up all the time, still waiting for him to peak again?

The coin will not die unless some major issues come up, a company security breach, an inside job and more. If it is still on the market and are being traded in high volumes then it is safe to say it will still go on. Even there are better projects popping up, even the system is slower than the new ones, the fact that Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other top coins are still standing is a sole proof that newer coins cannot always win and they have still room to grow. I thought once that Bitcoin cannot go beyond 20k USD but my instinct proves me wrong or eth couldn't go beyond 1K USD. That's just says the older coins have good foundations and still kicking out of new ones.

And as for me, even the shittiest coins I have now still remains in my wallet, there was a time that this coin were valued at the peak, one of each costs around 800 dollars but did not managed to sell. So I'll just wait for the right time and if that moment do not come, I will just let them rot in there for a lifetime.
452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: A crypto chat - A place to chat about crypto! on: July 26, 2021, 08:44:19 AM
Chat platforms are bad to manage. Because messages will be quickly floating and people will not be able to find important notes.

Example is Telegram. You can get the newest pinned message but you have to waste your time to find older pinned messages.
Discord is better because you can create sub channels for Announcements, Important, Tutorials, Community chat, Technical supports, etc.

Your website does not have pinned messages as Telegram or sub channel as Discord. Correct me if I am wrong.
I agree with you on that as it is a hassle free, and there are so much features too, I like the one that you could not send pictures in certain channels, people just don't stop sending pictures and gifs, whatever they've think of and it's great that discord has this. I was fan of telegram as it is fast but now I have migrated to Discord which allows me to chat comfortably.

If the OP is creating chats for crypto only then He/She is limiting his participants because, unlike messenger and the likes, it is generalized and not just only for crypto chats. You should put this factor, but since you are planning on the start a nice beta test is good for you have room for improvements. If that maybe the case you should hire some beta testers and pays them of their service unless they just wanna explore and give it for free.
453  Economy / Economics / Re: New Jersey Pension Invested $7M in Bitcoin Mining on: July 26, 2021, 08:34:34 AM
I wouldn't call it a wise move since there have been a decline in prices of cryptocurrencies since the banning of mining farms in China recently. I could only guess that maybe their hardware are used, came from the closed facilities in China and they're grabbing the opportunity of a lifetime getting those machines at a very low price. Still even there are a widely banning issues around the some part of the world the New Jersey folks have guts to invest in. Well some others says it's wise to buy the dip and that includes in the prices of GPU also and other mining hardware. I salute them for being positive thinkers as I couldn't manage to do that.
454  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: They say buy the dips...but how do you know the dip has bottomed out? on: July 26, 2021, 04:13:17 AM
Any tips, tricks?

*Note: asking for short term trading purposes. So advice like "don't matter when you buy..." is not applicable.

You set the margins where to buy, If I am trading when there's bad news about the crypto world I would buy about 20 to 50 dollars gap. It really is hard to know where will be the dip, so buy a little bit of bitcoins whenever it goes down and it works for me just fine.

460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymous a red flag? on: March 30, 2021, 12:36:54 PM
I'm doing a research on a new project right now and I see that the team decide to go anonymous, is staying anonymous a red flag for newbies?

In these times I think they should just show their selves to the public. It will increase the credibility of the project, that way also they trying to say that' hey we've shown our faces and we won't run away". That type of feeling the investors will feel they won't be left out. Many people are just afraid to invest in people they barely knew. Well it's still for those who manage to do it anonymously, I can't even think of one right now aside from bitcoin.
