441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling mistake repeated by the gamblers on: February 06, 2024, 12:47:45 PM
The only mistakes is that we involved ourselves in gambling, simple as that. All what the OP mentioned is the after effect. And it's not overconfidence, it is the illusion that we are in full control of the game and we know the outcome and so we bet on it.

So I call it exaggerative believed, - overestimating their own skill level and underestimating the role of luck. And then we focused on our past success and we don't look at what is in front of us. All tell tales sign might be there in front of us to stop gambling as we are losing, but we are so clouded and belief that we can overcome everything. But in the end, this wrong belief will lead us to poor decision-making, and worst we become gambling addicts.
442  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Crypto scams and company registration on: February 06, 2024, 03:31:34 AM
I was searching on Google about crypto scam and uk companies house and I read that the uk company house does not verify the address and identity of the person. And that allows scammers to register the company as little as 12 pounds and most of the scammers are operating from abroad. I learned it is different from registration with regulators because in order for company to be regulated and get the license it can be costly. I was victim of scam over a year ago with crypto trading and I thought business  registration was enough for the company to be legitimate.

I believe scammers can easily register and incorporate  a company eg uk companies house because it does not regulate markets and it costs very little so they don’t get caught. Also scammers registers the company to make it look credible and to scam victim. I think government should take action to  verify identity and address when someone want to register a company.

Lesson learned.

Or sometimes they will just used a registered name based on UK or US and so when you check it, you will think that it's a legitimate company and others might fall for the trick. But if the offer is too good to be true, then chances are this are scammers.

That's why we really need our common sense here, we don't need to be greedy if we see those returns that you should get. Those x amount of returns are just one method for this scammers to lure their victims and so we should be very careful with it. Don't blindly invest specially with huge money in crypto. There's no such time as big or easy returns. Most of the time and in many day-to-day situation, common sense serves as a practical and reliable guide for making reasonable decisions specially in the world that we live in, - Cryptocurrency.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: February 05, 2024, 10:24:19 PM
OP did not need a poll for this because I don't think Nery can get a vote that he can win against the Monster, even by a split decision but if he pulls an upset like a lucky punch that will be the biggest upset in the history, because no one in that division can beat Inoue, the poll should be what round will Inoue knock Nery out.
Even if Inoue does not want to cherry-pick an opponent there's no way he can't do that because all ranked boxers in his division are cherry-picked fights.
This is another usual fight for Inoue, there's a lot of challenges in the featherweight division than here in the super bantamweight, so I expect a boring fight where Inoue will just display all his power.

Unless he is really a fan of Luis Nery, he might be the single one to vote for him in this community. In the Tapales fight, if I'm not mistaken, there could be some who voted for Marlon and think that he can have that lucky punch to stop Inoue, but it didn't happen. Inoue is very smart and have a underrated boxing IQ.

Because we all see his power, but we don't see how he fight smart, reading his opponent in the first couple of rounds and then once he figure them out, he will go and soften them before putting a late show of numerous knockdowns and the knocking out his opponent good. Nery might have the power, and he could touch Inoue, but I doubt that he can knock him down, IHMO.
444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 17th FEBRUARY 2024 on: February 05, 2024, 04:45:09 AM
https://www.youtube.com/live/q2euzZelAuA?si=mGFuKc6xhYfV7ahf

Turki, Tyson & Usyk were all just on Ariel's show. Tyson does have the cut so we at least now know it's not fake or an old injury.

I am also curious what is going to happen to all event in general. If the main event is cancelled, will the other fight also be canceled? If yes, then Fury has set up a lot of other fighters, who had several weeks camp, perhaps cut weight or planned to do that, as minimum spent money on preparation. What is going on in such cases? Does anyone knows what happens in this case? Do fighters get something as cashback? Are such things stated in their contracts?

They've just pushed it back a few months. Looks like there will be no boxing on that day now. There were rumours they were tyring to get usyk another opponent but it's probably best to not risk him losing or getting injured and further delaying it.
The fight was postponed to May 18 and now it will definitely take place.
Direct speech from the organizer: “The last attempt is when we can hold this fight, and I have set the date - May 18. I have guarantees from both boxers - 10 million [dollars], if anyone - then he refuses the fight [his opponent will receive]. 10 million is not from us, we guarantee it - 10 million from their personal funds."
In this case, the fight will be more interesting since the athletes will have more time to prepare, and the public will be more interested in watching since the event will be final and there should be no more postponements.

It really depends though, most of the time, their trainers knows how many weeks they will have to go to be on their peak. In this case, for Usyk, he has to reset everything again, as his trainer doesn't want to have him overtrain.

Yes, it was good that they will have to cancel and move it to another date and not get any replacement opponent for Usyk.

So in any case, everything is on the shoulder of Fury to fulfill all the agreed upon, $10 million is huge for him if he still can't fight on May 18 and most likely the Saudi's are not going to allow him to fight anymore as His Highness, Turki Alalshikh will be done on Fury's antics.
445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 05, 2024, 04:14:22 AM
And His Highness, Turki Alalshikh has a ruthless reaction to the Ferrari demands of Gervonta Davis. Alalshikh stated that he would send only two gloves. That implies Alalshikh is not accepting the delayings numerous boxers are doing whatever it takes to not face the best.
https://www.marca.com/en/boxing/2024/02/04/65bef0d9e2704eab188b4579.html

That is very bad for Gervonta Davis, first you don't piss off HE Alalshikh, haven't he noticed that the big fights are happening in Saudi and obviously, he could have been part of it as there are big money flowing in every direction, Eddie Hearn is very lucky that he is very close to the Saudi right now and see that he is thriving with it.

Oscar dela Hoya is really trying to get his hands on the oil money as well. But it seems that HE Alalshikh is also not keen on Oscar.

So this a wrong promotional move from Gervonta and I don't think that he can have a fight in ME and so second, he is missing on that huge paycheck.
446  Economy / Speculation / Re: Y'all need to relax, ya gonna have a heart attack on: February 03, 2024, 03:00:31 PM
My speculation?: Big smart money hasn't even walked in the locker room yet to get suited up. Halving is about 3 months away with an anticipated peek in about 9 months. What is halving? Great time to take peoples money and secure profits. Bitcoin has one foot in it's big boy pants now, money will start to flow in dwarfing the halving bull run mania. I don't have a number, it would be bullshit but I am pretty sure it's going to up and to the right this time next year.

Isn't it what we are expecting though, yeah, the Bitcoin Spot ETF has been approved, but the real catalyst will still be the block halving this April. And with that, we still have the time to accumulate before the expected bull run. I will also agree that we will see a new all time high, the question is what numbers this year and in 2025.

Maybe this year we will see close to 6 digits and then by 2025, the full blown bull run, it could be as high as $180,000.

Speculation #2: Elections, wars and shenanigans. Russia could launch a nuke, China could invade Taiwan. Israel could nuke Tehran (wish they would),Pakistan could nuke Iran. However this is way more possible under our current limp dick president.  But with Trump looking fairly eminent to be re elected president it probably won't happen. With canidates bowing out the markets set records know that good times are coming back for everyone.

Geo-politics, but I don't think it will play a crucial role, I think you forget that in the last halving we are in the pandemic, and I think nothing could be worst than than. Almost all nation are in the lockdown and yet we thrive on those times. So I don't think that wars that we have or the proxy wars between US and other Arab states will affect how big the incoming bull run will be in 2024-2025.
447  Economy / Economics / Re: Quitting Smoking Has Two Big Benefits. on: February 03, 2024, 02:43:14 PM
I used to be a heavy smoker, but I was able to quit it November 2021 and so far I never had regress or go back to him. I just quit, dead stop, and they say that you will feel cold turkey, no I didn't go on that experience. One reason though that I really quit is because I'm also diabetic and we all know the complications.

And looking back, one benefit is financial, I mean I spend money buying cigarettes even in the pandemic and it's ridiculous expensive. Now, I was able to save that money and instead of buying cigarettes, I can buy other things that can benefit me or my family. Obviously, health is another one, I do exercise 3x a week, try to go to the gym and everyday walk 10,000 steps to maintain.

Quote from: fzkto
Now the price is back above 44k. The short-term correction made some people think that the price will continue to fall. But in just a few days the situation has changed again in a positive direction. Volatility in the market is a good thing. It may indicate that the trend will continue for the time being.
It has fall back to $42K few hours ago but that is not a challenge for hodlers in this season because some researchers has come up with some positive sign that is giving people joy to use every single opportunity to buy BTC and other potential coins to hodl till the actual time for sale come.

If you don't know, you better know it now that this is the last bear market we are going to experience before the bull market will occur for those that bought when the price was low to use the period to take some massive money from the market.

$43,000 just to be in the safe side, I saw it going as high as $43,500, so we are still somewhat bullish for this month. January ended with a small but positive dildo but I think that is good enough to the market to see that we are in the green.

Maybe we are in the tail end of the bear market, but if you look at what is the lowest low for this bear cycle at $15,000, you will see that we have grown so much, more than 150% already. And then after the halving, it's obvious that we will be in the bull run, and it's just a matter of how big the price will be, and what will be our all time high, it could be 2x of our last one or even higher.
449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Kambosos vs. Lomachenko on May 12 on: February 03, 2024, 10:33:59 AM
It's all good for Top Rank, all in-house money for Bob Arum, and winner becoming the champion for him. I think it's just right that Loma is the outstanding favorite in this fight, he might start slow again though, and Kambosos will have to take it early.

But as the fight goes, Kambosos just like his lost to Haney, has faded in the latter rounds specially if his bread and butter is not hitting the target. I think Loma will used his quickness here and maybe stop Kambosos late or win in the judges scorecard.

!!! Breaking news !!!

Fury Vs Usyk won't happen due to Tyson's injury (big cut to the right eye).
He got caught by an accidental elbow during the sparring, he was wearing a head-guard, but that didn't help.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/68187055

Michael Bisping's commentary, including the footage of unfortunate sparring:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBay8997Ifs&t

The fight will likely get postponed, although there are speculations of the replacement fight, possibly against Filip Hrgovic (17-0).

Yes and it's obviously been postponed already, ticket are going to be refunded,

Quote
“Riyadh Season announced today that the much-anticipated boxing match between WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury and unified Champion Oleksandr Usyk, named "Ring of Fire", has been postponed,” Alalshikh revealed in a press statement. “The decision comes after Fury suffered an unfortunate cut above his right eye during a training session in Riyadh.

“Originally scheduled for February 17 as part of Riyadh Season activities, the fight will be rescheduled at a later date and tickets will be refunded to the public.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/fury-usyk-fallout-entire-february-17-ring-fire-event-postponed--181159

Filip might be the replacement boxer, but I don't think it will this February 17. Everything is still based on what HE Alalshikh as they have the right for this big fight and maybe they are not that familiar with Filip and they just want to hold big fights in Saudi, so we will have to wait.
451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 17th FEBRUARY 2024 on: February 03, 2024, 09:29:36 AM
I knew, I knew that something is going to happen to make this fight not to happen. I had a feeling that it will be from Fury side. By the intense in the media (lack if it), by the weak promotion, by the lack of overall information, it was clear that nothing good is going to happen on Feb 17. They had so much negotiations about the fight before, they quickly made agreement to fighr on Feb 17, it was clear that something fishy is about to happen.

Yep, we don't know, we had this feeling that this fight is not going to happen as there was no promotion up to the last minute. Sometimes there are those fights that is not bound to happen. And it any case, the Saudi said that they are not going to have someone replace Fury, or at least that's how I interpret it because the statement says that they are going to refund the ticket.

Sorry for fight fans, we need to wait for Fury to heal that huge cut in his eye and then they will go on training and promotion again. Hopefully, if there is a second time, everything will be smooth and those negative emotions removed from Fury.
452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - February 24 on: February 02, 2024, 12:32:16 PM
As to the betting odds which he is the underdog, I think that's okay, it's justifiable since he is the challenger and the fight is held in Japan. Of course, I wouldn't be questioning that, I love him as the underdog as I'm betting on him to win. Good luck to him, hopefully we will see another Filipino champion soon.

He is what we term, live underdog, he might be 3:1, but that is good for us gambling bettors. It might be a motivation for him seeing that he is a underdog to a boxer that we think that he has a good chance to beat and then win the belt again.

Of course he should be motivated as he wants to become a champion. He lose his belt and now given this opportunity, isn't it what a champ would want that they will come back at the top again? But being 3:1 underdog, I doubt he cares about that, it's only for us gamblers and we bet on the underdog not just because of its potential payout but most importantly we believe that Ancajas has a decent chance of beating Takuma Inoue.

Most boxers especially the champions or used to be a champion does not underestimate their opponent, they train hard because they understand that one mistake could change the game. For example here, if Inoue will not train hard because he underestimated Ancajas, most likely he will lose because the challenger is very motivated to get his belt. Once a boxer becomes a champion, it will also open a lot of opportunities for him, more fights means more money, and that's why boxers are after of, aside from legacy in boxing which can only be achieve if a boxer is extraordinary like Takuma's brother.
I wasnt able to track or wary about on how Takuma Inoue on which on the time i did make out some research on
https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/667667 Then it do really shows that this man had already 18W-1L with have small TKO percentage on which this do really shows that he isnt having that much
compared into his older brother Naoya but still 18 wins with having 1 defeat isnt something that you could really be that confident on dealing with on which we know
that its still dangerous for Ancajas to be that being careless.

I have seen Takuma had lost to    Nordine Oubaali in 2019 but well he did able to patch it up into further more wins. As a champion then of course
belittling you opponent would really be that imposing such risks and it isnt something that would really be recommended for someone to do so.
Good thing that this fight had been pushed through now despite of that postponement.

I think that time Takuma looks very raw, and Nordine was the veteran, but as you have said, he make it up on this next fight and become a champion. On the other hand, Ancajas is a former champion, but had back to back loses when he try to get back that belt.

But he has a good chance here, Ancajas still had that heavy hands, and if he can just land that power punch and let Takuma feel it so that he will be like trying to avoid it like a plague and so he should be the aggressor and try to bring the fight to the Japanese.
453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe visiting a seer or spiritual house could make you win a game? on: February 02, 2024, 08:45:59 AM
Recently, I have come across a post on this board that has to do with something related to superstitious beliefs and gambling. In the post, the poster was giving an instance where somebody's father gave him a game to play and he ignored it, and when the game ended, it happened that what he was given happened to be the result of the game, and the same thing repeated itself the second time where his father came again and asked him why he did not play the game and gave him another, which he failed to play again. However, I am meant to understand that some people go as far as visiting seers and the rest of the spiritual houses to help them play or see the outcome of the games they want to play so they can win big.

So I was wondering if there is any connectivity here, or do you believe such could happen in your own situation? Can you do such a thing to win? Have you had the experience of going to such places to seek predictions on how the outcome or results of games could be if they worked in your favor or not? Have you had anyone say or tell you such before and how their experience was?

Let us discuss and share your experience so that people could hear and learn from your  story in the quest for you to win a game that led you to doing or going that extra miles in such engagement.

Nah, I don't think that anyone can see the future, because if someone does including shaman who supposedly see the future and then predicts the outcome specially in games. So I don't have the experience as I don't believed them. I don't have anything against those who who seek them and just wanted to get that experience. But it shouldn't be the only thing that will make you gamble or bet. So again, in the context of sports games, outcomes are outcomes are typically determined by various factors, including the skills and performance of the athletes, team dynamics, strategies, and "unpredictable elements" that these shamans or whatever you call them can't see in their predictions.

At least analyze the game if you are in sports betting, at least your knowledge will be the key on winning and losing and not those individuals you thought has gifts to see the future. Because just think about it, if they have that gift then why not used it to their advantage?
454  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: February 02, 2024, 07:58:26 AM
Hi Slow death - thanks for highlighting these reviews, and for the comments re our design, much appreciated! Unfortunately, as mentioned by other users already, we do get a lot of spam reviews on the Trustpilot page! I would recommend to check comments on our X (Twitter) account to get some real feedback from our user base.

Well, first of all, you may find a few spam reviews on trust pilot  but if the site is trusted the majority of the views will be good ones. Yes i understand that some companies may pay for the positive reviews in trust pilot which is wrong. Anyways if we only check the reviews at Twitter than that also may not reflect the true picture because a company can easily delete the unwanted tweets and replies. I would rather be more interested in this ANN thread and what people say about this site (bitcointalk ANN threads). As most of the reviews here are true and not manipulated.

Sometimes I ignore trustpilot for some reason since we can't get clear feedback since as said it can be bombarded with lot of spams and we don't know if that reviews written came from legitimate people or not. That's why its more interesting to read the review came from this forum since anyone can't manipulate the feedback given to the casino since we can see the real people posting their experiences or what they notice on how a casino perform.

I do agree, trustpilot most of the time as with regards with their reviews on gaming sites seems to be not reliable. So it either be that those who put the review is being paid by the competitor itself or just spamming the website with bogus reviews.

But so far Metawin still doing great so I guess people would like to see more from them especially that they are new here and people want to see some good competition stuff since it will be beneficial for them if casino gives or release a lot of promotions to entertain their gamblers.

I think every casino has went into this kind of journey and process in the beginning, they are not supposedly to be trusted and there are a lot of regulars gamblers and not so regular members who attack casinos specially in the boom of 2020's. But some of them are still here with us and now they have gain the trust and reputation of the community. So give Metawin some time, competition in the Web3 platform is heating us so it's going to be a good one and see who's going to survived in the next couple of years.
455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Psychology of Investing in Bitcoin on: February 02, 2024, 01:40:24 AM
Well Hello from the other side ~

Ever felt that rush when Bitcoin hits a new high? Or the sinking feeling when it takes a nosedive? Let's talk about the rollercoaster ride that is Bitcoin investing. Are we in it for the tech, the profits, or just the thrill? Whether you're a HODLer for life or a day-trading.Let's dissect the highs, the lows, and everything in between. After all, the Bitcoin market isn't just about charts and numbers.

What are your thoughts on this ~ Let's discuss

I guess it's pretty obvious by now, the psychology of investing and then HODLing = earning profits in the future. There's no better thing that having the mentality that all he hard work (DCA for a long time), will be rewarded sooner. But in the beginning, it will be a big challenge for newbie on how to accumulate and stack sats and seeing your portfolio going down, but might be tough. But if you have experience those ups and downs and still being resilient, then I think you are not a true BTC holder.

And it's interesting to mentioned as well Fear of Missing Out (FOMO). This is also a psychological phenomenon magnified in Bitcoin market. If you can fight it out and not be influence by it and just HODL on your positions, I think you will be good in the end.
456  Economy / Economics / Re: Business/Entrepreneurship. on: January 31, 2024, 11:04:54 PM
So, if you had the opportunity to invest your money into something would it be to start up something regardless of the amount of risks that come with it, or would you rather open a business or make a simple investment into assets?

I guess there is no right or wrong answer here. If you invest your money into something and in return you will earn money, then it could be a passive income. Without yourself investing time as well. You can be a angel investor in the beginning, and if the project become successful, then it's going to be a lot of money and the risk is worth it. So every new project has that potential, and you might even mentor those start-ups, so another learning experience.

And on the other hand, opening a business you have that creative independent as you have the control of everything. Specially a business that you love and have passion to, You have the opportunity to innovate, create new products or services, and shape the identity of your business. So there are risks and challenges on both, but if you wanted to become successful, then it requires hard work and resiliency.
457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Binary Trade Better or Better to Buy and Hold Bitcoin? on: January 31, 2024, 10:41:43 PM
I have been in a dilemma for some time now. Do I invest Bitcoin or I will start binary trade. I could not understand anything. Sometimes I feel like doing binary trade. I think that if I don't lose it, it goes around in my mind. But I did a lot of messing with Bitcoin. And read many websites and articles. After seeing everything and I have been around in the crypto world for a long time. I have experience on Bitcoin because Bitcoin 2022 was priced a lot. But now 2023 he is going to Bitcoin and at the beginning of this 24th and I am growing. For that I ask you for feedback if you give your valuable ideas then what is better for me because I have been in conflict with Aibitcoin and Binary Trade for a long time. But in many places I see that I have people and some they are making a lot of money.

I don't know why are you in a dilemma here, I think it's very easy to decide, don't do binary trading because it's simply gambling, IMHO. Just go long term and you will be find with BTC. You don't need to buy like 1 Bitcoin, you can do what majority here has done before and continue doing, slowly fill your wallets with Sats, do DCA or whatever way you can to accumulate and save, easy as that.

You don't need to complicate things in your end with this Binary trading, most of the time, less is better in crypto world. Maybe others are making money as they say, but every individuals tolerance and strategy is different. What works for someone, might not work for you in Binary trading.
458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 17th FEBRUARY 2024 on: January 31, 2024, 10:06:24 PM
So they finally posted the fight trailer and it's even more epic than the Fury/Ngannou and AJ/Wallin ones: https://youtu.be/uw-c-J90_ZE?si=Bx5Hu30z2poHon8o

At least they're starting the promo now. If it had've got to Feb with nothing I would have assumed it wasn't going to happen.

And to think that the fight is what? barely two weeks, so definitely it's going to happen with the released of this promo, probably one of the best that we have seen in recent years. So it bring the hype once more for this fight, and if it doesn't excite us, then nothing will, IMHO.

For those looking for the current odds,

Fury @1.66, and Usyk @2.14.
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 31, 2024, 09:42:14 PM
^^ I do agree, he has a lot of money, I read one interview of his that what keeps him motivated is that he is still "winning". Not that he can get a Grand Slam, but probably just like he said, he wanted to compete and play and see how far he can go.

Maybe his body can play, but if you look at the rankings and his age, not sure if he can improved it or even break in the top 20 ranking if that is his goal.

He is what now? in his 20th season?
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: O’Shaquie Foster vs. Abraham Nova WBC World SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT Feb 16 on: January 31, 2024, 01:30:40 PM
Great fight, if others haven't known or seen O'Shaquie Foster, you can search his highlights in Youtube specially against Hernandez.

It's one of the greatest fight last year, Foster travel to Mexico, fought to defend WBC super featherweight, corrupt judges, Hernandez was up in two of them. And then comes round 11th, voted as Round of the Year by Ring Magazine, https://www.ringtv.com/article/2023-round-of-the-year/.

Again, I urge you to look at it and see what Foster is made of. I thought that he will be fighting Joe Cordina next IBF unification, but I guess he needed a tune up fight first in Abraham Nova.

I think this is a easy fight for Foster, IMHO.

O’Shaquie was so good when he fought Rey Vargas he may not possess power punches but his level of determination and consistency in the ring is just awesome Nova is also good but he will have to score big in the early rounds because O’Shaquie is very consistent throughout the fight, this is going to be a very interesting fight as both fighters are ready to take in so they can give out so expect a slugfest on this fight.
They have somewhat similar styles and as we all know style makes a fight and their style will complement each other to come out with a great fight.

Style makes fight, and against Vargas, but he also brilliantly move from southpaw to orthodox in that fight, that he completely dominated Rey Vargas, and won 116-112, 117-111 and 119-109. Throw and landed more punches as per compubox.

And then retain his belt in a hard fought match against Hernandez in Mexico.

Looking at the odds and it match what I did say early, easy fight for Foster as Abraham Nova is almost 7:1 underdog in this fight.
