1341  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ChipMixer.com has been seized. on: March 16, 2023, 12:49:10 PM
Yeah. I am not buying that story neither. One would be incredibly stupid to believe that a man from Chi- I mean Vietnam was behind the whole operation. Whoever was running the operation probably made him and his family incredibly rich so they could use his name on the papers. Everything was good as long as no FEDs were involved but when they do... he is going to pay for the wealth he acquired by serving jail time. A fair trade I would say. Balanced. Like everything in the universe. Action > Reaction. Cause and Effect.

Thanks for this, I was talking to my wife about this case and it was just surprising that a one man band from Vietnam had this operations running for the last 6 years. Either someone from behind used his name, or he is really that "intelligent" to hide everything until that fatal mistakes he did that's why the authorities was able to track him down and his name.
1342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 15, 2023, 09:37:28 PM
We don't have an upcoming well-known fight right now but we have a boxing match this coming March 18, well I am going to leave it here unless anyone is interested in a certain Discussion about the fight, and this is the we also got a Filipino boxer in the Co-Main event

Ramirez vs. Rosado

Saturday 03.18.2023 at 09:00 PM ET
Promotion: Golden Boy Promotions
Venue: The Walter Pyramid
Location: Long Beach, California

MAIN EVENT

Gilberto Ramirez VS Gabriel Rosado

CO-MAIN EVENT

Joseph Diaz VS Mercito Gesta

MAIN CARD

Oscar Duarte VS Alex Martin
Eric Tudor VS Damoni Cato-Cain

All information was from TAPOLOGY

Ok, so they sparred a lot according to Zurdo, more than 100 rounds and they are friends inside and outside of the gym. But they will have to fight it out for real and for their career. I think though that Rosado is no longer in his prime.

On the other hand, Ramirez will have to bounce back after suffering a lost against Bivol.

And I think he choose his sparring partner here because he knows that he can beat him easy, in short this is a tune up for him to get back his confidence and put his name on the list again.
1343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 15, 2023, 09:16:12 PM
And so as expected, the tickets have been sold-out. Anyone though was surprised to see Leonard Ellerbe on the background? The guy with that white beard, he is Floyd's CEO and we all know that Davis didn't renew his contract with Floyd. But according to the news, he will be training at Floyd's gym in Las Vegas, so I guess everything is really cool between the two camps despite Davis no longer under Floyd. And I think it is a advantage for Tank, at least he has someone more experience behind him. And who knows, Floyd might drop to his own gym and still mentor Tank because this is the biggest fight of his career, both of them including Ryan. Goosen's training gym is in LA, so most likely Ryan will train there as he is from California.

That seems to be the case between Floyd between Tank Davis, I believe there wasn't any misunderstanding in the first place because the latter respected Floyd and certainly wouldn't do such thing to give the opposite remarks to his former-promoter, it was just the people who are creating such speculations that Davis and Floyd is not in good terms after Davis left the promotional company, and it's still a business after all, so Floyd would surely understand.

Probably this is the case, both of them made big money, and there are no bad blood or whatsoever between Tank and Floyd, he even says that Tank is free now and congratulate him. And Tank is more familiar with the gym and that's where the fight is going to held so no more adjustment in the side of Tank now. And it also seems that Ryan has move on already from Reynoso, Goosen and him had struck a relationship as well as they have been training way before Ryan move to Eddy Reynoso.

Thanks for this, and it just shows that,

1. AI is not really that complete as this stage
2. Still based on us, on how we are going to enrich that AI

So it's good to test it, but don't expect something complete. I know few of the sites that mention there, but there could be more missing in the list, obviously.
1345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: March 13, 2023, 11:25:45 AM
Caleb said that he was surprised by Benavidez antics, for him it's just a show and let everyone knows that he is the tougher guy. But Caleb is not deter with all the talks according to him. He will really come full prepared in this fight and as we have said, he seems to rediscovered his punching power, specially with how he knockouts Dirrell with that left hook. Just a couple of days from this fight, the face-off in the weigh-in will be huge for the fans and again we should expect the trash talking specially from David, and Caleb be cool with that or either shows his emotions. Plant is still 3:1 underdog in this fight.

He shouldn't be deterred about David's antics because he is on a crusade to get back and fight Canelo Alvarez again, he should remain calm and let his performance in the upcoming fight do the talk as that is what the people wanted from him especially that many doubted him in this fight. He is an underdog in this fight despite what he did in his career and KO'd Anthony Dirrell just recently in the 9th round.

This will be a good fight, both boxers are targeting the undisputed title holder and that means that they wouldn't give each other an advantage that they would regret as they both know each other's capability.

I think that is what Caleb Plant is trying to see here, he consider it just a antics from David's camp, maybe to sell the fight. So with such statement from him, he wouldn't be deterred on the contrary he might channel what he sees on Benavidez and try to beat him on his own game.

We all know that fighters have pride when they see that they are the underdog in a fight. But again, if he could channel that negativity and uses it and not thinking about it, then maybe he can upset Benavidez here, just saying.

The time to sell the fight is over now, and by this time they should have been unwinding their trainings, maybe just few touch ups as they don't want to be over train. They just need to be peaking on the fight itself and after the final weigh-in, rehydrate and focus on the fight and forgot what they have been saying against each other. Because if they focus on it, they might have been affected mentally, specially on what David has been throwing on the side of Plant. Psychological war is part of boxing or any any sports, others call it trash talking. But if boxers can deflect that and just motivate and concentrate on the fight, then that's what separate the good boxers from the elite and high level prize fighters, IMHO.
1346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Silvergate - exposure - USDC ? on: March 13, 2023, 11:08:48 AM
The risk of USDC depegging from the US dollar due to the potential insolvency of Silvergate is difficult to assess without more information on the specific mechanisms that underpin USDC's peg to the US dollar. However, it is important to note that Circle, the company behind USDC, has stated that their USDC reserves are held in multiple banking partners, and not just Silvergate.

While Silvergate Bank is a major banking partner for Circle, it is not the sole bank that holds USDC reserves. Circle has also stated that they have implemented risk management measures to mitigate the risk of any single banking partner's failure affecting the value of USDC.

That being said, it is always important to assess the risks associated with any investment or financial transaction. If you have concerns about the risks of USDC, you may want to consider diversifying your holdings across multiple stablecoin issuers and conducting thorough research on each issuer's risk management measures.

What more do you need though? I mean Silvergate has filed bankruptcy already, and that's why Circle and it's stable coins are into a big problem right now. And it might choke other stable coins too or worst the whole altcoin market.

Stablecoins are good to hedge our crypto in a bear market or when the price is going down.

But if stablecoins themselves is depegging, then it defeats it's purposed and it will be like any other crypto, which is very volatile now.

May I know which source that you use to refer that Silvergate has filed bankruptcy already? and as far as I know there is no indication that it is insolvent or that USDC is in danger of depegging from the US dollar, however of course we should always be vigilant with every situation that happened in the crypto world to keep safe.

It could be the semantics, but if you read here,

Quote
(Reuters) - Crypto-focused bank Silvergate Capital Corp became the latest casualty of a meltdown in the industry after announcing plans to wind down operations and voluntarily liquidate.

Founded in 1988, Silvergate ventured into crypto in 2013. The bank in December said it would shut its mortgage warehouse business amid rising interest rates and declining mortgage volumes.

https://www.usnews.com/news/technology/articles/2023-03-09/crypto-lender-silvergates-descent-into-voluntary-liquidation

So whatever you call it, bankruptcy or collapse or meltdown, still the same.

And if you check the price of USDC, it is still way below $1,

Quote
$0.9898

as per CMC

So they are not in danger, they are already in that situation as it has depegged in the last couple of days.
1347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Tony Harrison vs Tim Tszyu - Mar 13, 2023 on: March 13, 2023, 07:46:05 AM
Congratulations to Tim Tszyu for a well-deserved win, Tim Tszyu just prove that he is not afraid to take a hit to get a hit, he breaks down Tony Harrison with his jabs, body, and head punches this is a good preparation for the Charlo fight, he is popular in Australia before the fight but after this fight, the boxing world now knows him and he will become even popular if he beats Charlo for his next fight.
That's what I saw in this fight too. Tszyu was not afraid to get hit, probably because he did not respect the power of his opponent. It was his power shots that eventually knocked out his opponent. Although I knew from the beginning that Tszyu was heavily favored to win, I also noticed a weakness in him, which was that he wasn't quick enough to evade his opponent's punches. Anyway, congratulations to him.

True, he went toe to toe, maybe he has seize up the power of Harrison early and knows that he can't hurt him that much so he decided to be the aggressor per round and as it goes on, Harrison tires, misses a lot of shots.

Again, maybe he don't want to evade that shots of Harrison as he pushes inside as he want to put Tony in a bad position and he did in round 9, those uppercuts are on the money and Harrison can't response to that barrage of punch and the referee knows it.
1348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: March 13, 2023, 07:17:51 AM
So, the May 20 date is final per the article i've read and this will be held in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Quote
BoxingScene.com has confirmed that their 12-round, 135-pound championship match will be held at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Their fight for Haney’s IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO lightweight titles will headline an ESPN Pay-Per-View show that night.

This is another fight where there are 2 very good fighters that will bring the sport of boxing back going forward again very much similar to Tank vs. King Ry and Inuoe vs. Fulton. Terence Crawford and Errol Spence has been a disappointment for the fans. They should learn from the example of Tank and Ryan where there are 2 fighters who are in their correct boxing age to fight each other. I reckon this will break records in pay per view and gross revenue.

In any case, the winner of this will fight the winner of Tank vs King Ry, correct?

The next months will be good for boxing fans. April 22 Tank vs. King Ry, May 7 Inoue vs. Fulton and May 20 Haney vs. Lomanchenko hehehe.

Yeah, this year boxing has started to pick up again with this good fights in the line up for us.

Well that's what we all want to see, but it seems the Ryan might be going to 140 lbs as this is in a catchweight and his last 2 fights prior to this was around welterweight already.

If you are talking about the winner between Haney and Loma fighting the winning of Davis vs Garcia? Could be, but then again, besides Ryan, Haney is also thinking to move to welterweight as well. But we will see, if there is money on the line then why not?
1349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 13, 2023, 06:54:34 AM
^^ Usually the numbers are not going to be reveal in public after the fight. But if it is sold out by this time then obviously that's already a guarantee that this fighters will received a lot of money already. And for those networks and the venue itself, it's also a win-win, testament that this two has that power to bring fans to their seats and watch them fight. And I know that the price is very expensive, but then again, who wouldn't want to missed this big fights, two prime boxers and at the height of their career and both are undefeated.

1351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 12, 2023, 09:44:58 AM
Nevertheless, what's funny about it is that their are already weight class, I mean a predetermined weight that this fighters are going to box. So it this is supposedly 135 lbs, they agree to 136 lbs, but then have rehydration clause? I think it defeat the purpose of having this weight category another when there is a cap.
Yeah, and that's why after reading the details I was kind of intrigued because honestly, this is really the first time I saw a clause like that. I guess we will just have to witness it before Ryan Garcia steps on the ring if there will be a weighing scale before he enters.  Grin
It's almost like a punishment for a big boxer trying to cut weight for the weigh-ins and then avoiding rehydration just so he can still be in the range where the opponent requested it before the fight.
Now I know why the Tank's camp is avoiding Garcia for a long time. They are pondering what clause they will add to avoid losing the belt.
I think Ryan will have a big problem here if the fight will be long considering that clause.

As for me, I have seen that rematch clause or at least heard it already, just forget who the boxer is.

Anyhow, I have said, it will be fair if the fight is really like 135 lbs and no rehydration clause. So if ever Davis won, then he can says that he beat Ryan at his best weight without any disadvantage or anything.

But I guess if Ryan agrees with it then he can't used it as a excuse in the end.
1352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 12, 2023, 09:32:34 AM
He may have slowed down a bit but as we get older we have more power, his experience will also be a big advantage for him here. It's just the stamina that I think will be the issue here. If Santiago will try to wear him down first then it will depend on how well he will control the ring. Jabs will be really helpful as his long reach has the advantage at 174 cm against 166 cm of Santiago.

True, he may have slowed down, but I don't mind. He isn't fighting Inoue, so he doesn't need lots of quickness. He will be fighting Santiago, who is not even a popular boxer, so I guess Donaire should have the edge in every angle. If we talk about him being old, that's another story, as we need to see if he performs like an old boxer in this coming match.

Donaire has the length and with great timing, that could be his biggest advantage.

We are biased sometimes, and since Donaire is from our country, we should support him. What we can do is bet on him. I'll be happy to bet a decent amount on this fight, as long as Donaire isn't a heavy favorite. I'm still concerned about the odds, but I'm confident that Donaire will become a champion again.
Yeah, of course it's a bit biased being a Filipino but there is also the reality that Donaire was once a champion and right now he is still eager to become one again. His biggest advantage will be his experience here. He knows how to read different boxers and I bet he will use that to gain the upper hand.

Concerned about the odds too. If this goes like 1.10-1.15 for Donaire then I might just pick a round on a KO or TKO in favor of Donaire.
I mean, he must also have a plan to end it as quickly as possible to avoid being in a position where he is gasping for breath when it takes longer. Because I feel like that will be the plan of Santiago's camp, get him exhausted and let old age kick in.

Sometimes we are emotional on the boxers that we support here, like Donaire for example, but even non-Filipinos supports him too because of how he fight and being a champion.

All of us are going to be concerned about the odds because we don't like if that is going to be the odds that they will gave the Filipino.

So I would agree that it's better to look for more attractive odds, the right is there but it's better be that way as compare to go like 1.1x.
1353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Tony Harrison vs Tim Tszyu - Mar 13, 2023 on: March 12, 2023, 09:21:32 AM
It's an ugly fight, but Tim shows his heart in this one, Harrison only weapon in fight fight is jab and early on he was hitting Tim with a perfect time jab but Tim always have answer to that. Either shot to the body or right hand.

Yes, this is a good test for him, the rough and stubborn fighter in Tony shows here and this could be a very good experience for Tim because Charlo will be obviously a tougher opponent. Kudos to Harrison for showing in this fight in Australia. I think with more focus training, he can still fight the best of 154 lbs and give a run for their money.
1354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did anyone saw the New Bitcoin Advertisement? on: March 12, 2023, 02:18:48 AM
It should be realized that the ad is bold enough to show the shortcomings of your system, but I really like this ad  Cheesy Because they immediately attack at the point where this is the actual reality that often happens and is currently being experienced.

I mean it would have been better if they even once mentioned Bitcoin lol. It was a Coinbase ad not a Bitcoin ad. If it was a Bitcoin ad they would have mentioned it. I was waiting at the end for it to say something like Use Bitcoin but it just said Coinbase
Even though in this case there is no mention of bitcoin, I think we all understand where the point is headed, especially when looking at the questions in the advertisements about "Systems", it clearly shows that they lead to decentralization and centralization.
There's no need to mention bitcoin when something this obvious is obvious because we've already got our point and people will also notice even if the word bitcoin isn't in the ad.

Yes, but still though, they could at least mention the alternatives like "crypto" or "Bitcoin", but it's not there. It could be their strategy to just used their name and let people discover what Coinbase is and how they can be as a alternative to the banking system.

So let's see how this ads will affect Coinbase positively or crypto in general.

It their users increases or at least there are new customers in the crypto market then good.
1355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 11, 2023, 07:29:14 PM
I didn't know there were too many demands from the champion's camp just so Ryan Garcia could fight him.
https://www.boxingscene.com/ryan-garcia-i-definitely-put-boxing-first-accept-lotta-stipulations-davis-fight--172999
Quote
Garcia gave Davis a one-sided rematch clause that only Davis can exercise if Garcia upsets him April 22 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Quote
The 24-year-old Garcia must adhere as well to a rehydration clause that prohibits him from weighing more than 146 pounds when he enters the ring for their Showtime Pay-Per-View main event.
The second one was kind of intriguing. Maybe because Ryan Garcia is way too big and Davis' camp is preventing him to gain more power by being heavier when the fight starts. That's a good strategy and this is the first I have heard that it could be done. This means he will be weighed again before he enters the ring.
Quote
From Garcia’s perspective, he feels like he said yes to virtually every request because he wanted this career-defining fight so badly.
They didn't detail what other requests had been made but I like how Garcia is just trying to let the fight happen even if there are so many things that he has to accept.
This is good publicity for him too, he may pull some fans on his side for being the bullied one when it comes to the contract signing.

Yes, Davis says that Ryan is too big and can go over 150 lbs, and with that weight, it's going to be very hard to knock him down and at the same time could have more power and Davis is obviously afraid of it.

1356  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Btc get to $12k or $10k on: March 10, 2023, 09:56:54 PM
indeed the market moved in a positive direction at the beginning of the year and it was beyond predictions, but now the increasing trend has begun to decline again. Of course, this may only be a momentary shock and does not guarantee that it will continue to survive let alone increase.
agree with your opinion that many cases like FTX have affected the market situation which has been bad for a year is getting worse. but I am highlighting it even more because this year's economic crisis has no sign of ending or starting to improve, so it is certain that it will affect until the end of the year and prices can stay above $ 10K, which is extraordinary.
The economic crisis factor is not the main cause of the decline in bitcoin prices but there are other influences that specifically affect the current bitcoin price, we expect price recovery to occur soon because this week the bitcoin price has decreased significantly without recovering, if until mid-March there is still a decline then it is feared that the price going to another $15k, I don't want to see that price again.

I think it has a big effect on the crypto market, when we hear that let's say US, releasing data that their economic conditions are not getting better, then we will see traditional market falling because of this statement and this could extend to bitcoin as well.

My point is, the news comes from one of the most powerful and influential country. And if they are not doing good, then obviously the rest of the world is most likely in recession. And just show how we are all connected. So let's see how the price will go down because of the negative news from the US government. Hopefully there will be no lower lows for this year.
1357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you Bet on a Fight that is Scripted? on: March 10, 2023, 09:33:01 PM
This doesn't in any way look viable. There's no way you can keep the outcome of the match from leaking. Even information from organizations and agencies that their M.O. is secrecy still gets leaked. There are too many loopholes to exploit in this. The outcome of the match is known in the organization weeks or days to the match. You cant keep these kind of things a secret for that long, it would certainly come out to the public one way or the other. Lets assume they can contain it somehow and makes sure it doesn't leak, how do the handle the people in the organization that have access to this information? They would definitely want to exploit the opportunity and make the most out of it.

Well the point is that some 3rd party are going to handle the outcome of the match in secrecy and most likely the people involved are going to sign NDA to prevent anything from leaking into the public.

Nevertheless, as others have said, when we are young, we love WWF (as it was known before), and we become fans of it and it become a part of our childhold days. But I will not going to bet on the fight that is scripted though. Might as well put my money on other sports betting.
1358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 10, 2023, 09:16:47 PM
The advantage depends on how each boxer sees it. Inoue might be thinking that he has the advantage, but Fulton could also believe the same. We will only know who is better once they fight. However, based on the betting odds, Inoue is highly favored to win. Therefore, we can give him the overall advantage to win.

I think Inoue doesn't have an attitude of thinking he has the advantage. Even though his previous opponents are tagged as an underdog, he always takes those seriously without thinking he has the advantage over them. The same goes for fighting Fultin, Inoue will just do what he really is in the boxing ring. The excitement is much stronger since from defending titles he used to, Inoue will now be a challenger.

Correct that we will only see who will be the much better fighter at the day of the fight.

Yes, and this kind of attitude and mentality of some of the best boxers we have, they are not thinking of any advantage instead, they are going to see the fight just like any regular fight. They will have to train very hard and then try to go with their strategy.

So both of this boxers have that kind of attitude except that only one will have to win this fight. And most likely it will be Inoue because of the big difference - he has that heavy hands that almost knockout all of his previous opponents.
1359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if: USDT is unpegging and collapsing in the next days - Possible strategies on: March 10, 2023, 07:59:05 PM
On 2017, when Tether keeps on printing, it had made the speculation that it's injecting those printed USDT to bitcoin. And that's why if that happens that it unpegs or depegs to its mother value which is the USD then we might see the sudden correction of the market.

So, that means that bitcoin's price will go down and the entire market will just follow bitcoin then with their prices.

And as for the best strategy to do, that is to buy those cheap bitcoins that's possible to be seen and that is only if you still have that enthusiasm about the market because I'll still have it.

Yeah, there could be a problem with Tether de-pegs, I think the main issues with them is that a bank run. Meaning if many of us withdraw our Tether it might collapse for that reason.

And then we have the regulators also in their tail as early as 2017-2018 because of that fears and yet Tether stood their ground.

So they can either influence the price of bitcoin negatively/positively. It's not a direct manipulation though, but if the price de-peg, for sure there will be consequences and it's going to be bad, in my opinion.
I still don't know if the printing of it is monitored. It seems that they can really just print unlimited of it especially on the earlier years when the market is mostly certain unregulated.

We saw how it can be influenced a lot based on the situation and news that can be scattered for effective price changes.

Good thing that we haven't saw it yet being depegged and that's a lot of trouble and worry if it ever will.

Maybe this will help us all,

Quote
Tether continues to be the target of outdated, inaccurate, and misleading coverage and allegations from the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) whose latest report insinuates that Tether operates on the outskirts of regulation. This conflicts with the reality that Tether operates under substantial financial regulations and cooperates on a near-daily basis with global law enforcement. This includes regular cooperation with the U.S. Department of Justice and other top tier US agencies, while not servicing US-based customers.

https://tether.to/en/more-outdated-allegations-from-the-wsj/

Although it comes from them, but I'm somewhat that they have been targeted ever since, and I think it become prevalent again because of the collapse of Silvergate, a bank that is very friendly to crypto.

There is also a company that audit Tether and reported back that they have reserves, I just can't find that report though.
1360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Biggest Win So Far at Fortune.st Casino on: March 09, 2023, 10:13:32 PM
Good if someone win big in your casinos.

But it's better if the bettor himself post his winnings here, if he is not a member then it's better that they posted it in their ANN thread and not in this gambling board. Because it's pretty obvious that they are shilling for their own casinos and trying to proved that they are fair and are going to pay that huge amount on their gamblers. It could be a good strategy, but for me, it doesn't sound right.
