Unfortunately, the link isn't working. Please provide the correct link to the article. If Indian media is praising bitcoin only from ROI perspective, that's not a good sign! Because the beaurocrats and right-wing ministers will understand that bitcoin can make people rich and they will definitely push for its immediate ban!

It's a shame that even Pakistan is planning to legalize cryptocurrencies while India is planning to ban it!

Thanks @avikz for pointing out the link issue. I have added the naked link for you guys to go ahead and read the full article.
4482  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $318K by December 2021 on: November 17, 2020, 11:26:25 AM
Looking at the present market condition, Bitcoin will crearte a new ATH and will also easily reach its existing ATH by the year end.

Next year it will surely create a new ATH but to be realistic I doubt it will reach the fiat value as being predicted by Citibank MD. I expect it to reach 50k if I compare it with 2017 market condition. At that time Bitcoin was very unstable and the market was experiencing such a big pump for the first time ever.

4483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A crypto Scammer on the run on: November 17, 2020, 10:23:58 AM
Scammers are in every business, cryptocurrency scams are easy because people still not clear about this business or the technology that powers it. People have a general assumption that cryptocurrency business can help them make good money. Which is true to a certain extent and scammers use this opportunity to scam innocent people.

Stay away from giveaways and always DYOR before investing in a new project.

Thankfully this time an article by Indian media praising Bitcoin and the community. They have discussed about the ROI of Bitcoin and how much the community has matured post 2017 ATH.

Such articles will now give a clean picture about Bitcoin to the masses and also encourage them to invest in it.

If you guys have not read it then here is the link - https://www.google.com/amp/s/theprint.in/economy/bitcoins-gunning-for-a-record-and-no-ones-talking-about-it/545915/%3famp
4485  Local / India / Re: Is bitcoin arbitrage possible ? on: November 17, 2020, 09:00:41 AM
Is bitcoin arbitrage possible in current Indian market. Is anyone doing it? Also I want to know if it's legal  to do .

Yes! Arbitrage is possible in Indian market. There are always the price differences between different Indian Exchanges. Use this tool for more info: https://coinfeed.in/crypto-premiums-arbitrage-in-india

This tool will show you the INR price gaps between different exchanges for different cryptocurrencies. If you are swift enough, you can make some profits.

And yes, since there is no law governing bitcoin in India, it is completely legal to arbitrage bitcoin. Infact, you can buy/sell bitcoin any number of time, rotate your money as many time as you like and everything is fine if you are paying taxes on your profits.

I was searching for a tool like this and thankfully @webtricks has suggested one today .

If your intention was to make money from the forum and not to learn then it is better for you to leave.

Plus I do see 2 negative trust for trying to scam members then If you had not planned to leave the forum you would have been kicked out automatically in the future for your behaviour here.
4487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: November 15, 2020, 01:30:23 PM
Australians are always favorite in their home ground as Indians are in their home territory. The day n night test match will be interesting to watch. The first test match will start in mid december so there is still one month before this test series will start. However before that India will already have played the ODI and t20 series and they will be used to the Australian conditions.

A decade ago, I would have said that it would be impossible for India to have any chance of a series win in Australia. But their performance in 2017 changed everything. I am not discounting the fact that Australia was without two of their best players. But what India achieved in 2017 was like breaking the invisible glass ceiling. So I am not striking off India's chances of another series win.
I think you are a bit more confident than usual on India's performance in the upcoming series. In my opinion both team are great and both have chances, it all depends on how much pressure the players can take and I am confident most matches in this series will be pretty close.
4488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 15, 2020, 06:27:41 AM
No one would argue against Delhi Capitals having their best season in the history of IPL but the second eliminator was a good match but then when it came to the final they lost it completely the moment they won the toss in the final and electing to bat and then went on to loose early wickets and MI dominating the match from the start and then when MI was batting the DC bowlers failed to picked early wickets and where does the competitive aspect comes into play Grin.

This is one of the reasons why the franchises are sticking with experienced players, rather than going for the younger ones. Delhi Capitals do have a large number of young players, such as Iyer and Pant. But none of them have shown an ability to perform under pressure. And this goes for the younger players in the other franchises as well. In many cases, DC went on to lose matches, which they could have won.

DC will perform way better in the future, their performance was way better than other teams in this season. A few changes within the team batting line up and I do not think it will be possible for MI to win against them in the next IPL season.

The primary problem with them is that they are a young team which lack experience and that is the main reason for their inconsistent performance. Given time and more exposure these guys can perform in the future.
4489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 13, 2020, 04:56:51 AM
DC played great at the start of the season. They got some great wins. I don't know what happened to them at the end of the season. After the performance of the whole team broke down a lot. But they played really great against SRH. If they hadn't lost early wickets in the final, I think the final would have been competitive.

DC was one of my favorite teams, because they had the largest contingent of young Indian players, in Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant. But they were unable to maintain the momentum. And in more than one occasion, they lost matches which they could have easily won. I would still say that they were unable to win the tournament, because the players cared more about their individual records.
No doubt DC is a team of young players but they have shown in this season that they are very inconsistent. About Prithvi Shaw I do not understand why he is part of a T20 team. He is not a guy who can start hitting the ball from the first ball itself he needs time to settle. In my opinion he is one day and more of a test player.
4490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin continues the positive trend today, is the altcoin market in trouble? on: November 13, 2020, 03:43:02 AM
Last time when Bitcoin rallied good altcoin like ethereum, litecoin and Ripple talked and also achieved a new ATH. It basically depends on the kind of altcoin you are hodling. All good altcoins are rallying with Bitcoin in the present market but shitcoins are getting destroyed.

Still cryptocurrency market is very unpredictable if Bitcoin goes above $20k then it is a possibility that altcoins will bleed as traders/hodlers will sell their altcoins to take a position in Bitcoin.
4491  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Paypal opening up app crypto users on: November 12, 2020, 07:42:56 PM
Adoption of bitcoin in the US and everywhere by people is not only because of firms like paypal made such new options, it will help only when the people wanting to adopt it because of that reason had already known somethings about Bitcoin, but if they don't they will still pick the routine option on paypal, But I think this is better news for Bitcoin-ners in the US, those that were waiting for this on paypal.

WOW!!!
So you believe PayPal or companies were the reason why we achieved an ATH in 2017. That being said it is appalling to read members like you believing PayPal the main reason for Bitcoin adoption. Come on man Bitcoin adoption started happening way before companies like PayPal started accepting Bitcoin.

Usually you will always see Bitcoin USD value will increase in the month of November. It is not because a particular company started accepting Bitcoin
4492  Other / Meta / Re: Is this place ever going to get a mobile view option? on: November 12, 2020, 12:18:44 PM
Since there's a pretty good user script that makes bitcointalk acceptable on mobile, I guess that there's no much need for more time spent in that direction.
We do hope (for years, I know...) that at some point we'll migrate onto new forum software.

Edit: or you can put ;wap at the end of the topic, but I don't like that option. Example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5288702;wap

Hey! thanks for suggesting the ;wap option but it is only meant for reading. It does not serve the purpose of this forum which is basically interacting here.

You still can access the forum on any mobile device like I am doing now. You only need to zoom a little bit and everything works fine.

So, in place of questioning when they will release a mobile compatible version why not use some common sense and use the zoom feature to view the forum on your mobile device।
4493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 12, 2020, 04:52:33 AM
You are right. It is really difficult for a player to captain in 3 formats. 3 captains should be selected for 3 formats, or one captain should be selected for Test and Odi and separate captain for T20. Because t20 game is completely different from ODI and test matches. Here you have to play very fast and make decisions very quickly. If there is any mistake in making a decision, there is a possibility of losing the match.

Not sure about this. "3 captains for 3 formats" is a relatively recent phenomenon. Earlier most of the teams were having the same captain for all the formats. I think it was England which first experimented with different captains. That said, I never felt that it is necessary to have different captains. If a player is equally good in all the formats, then why can't he become the permanent captain?

This has been going on for quite sometime now but as you mentioned it did not work out for England earlier the same will happen in the future. Some cricket veterans have been idle for sometime now and to come into the limelight they come up with intersting theories like this sounds more like a PR gimmick.
4494  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: can you rate trust wallet? on: November 11, 2020, 09:11:07 AM
Trust wallet is owned by Binance exchange and if you are aware, Binance is a centralized exchange which means they both are not secure and safe for long term hodling.

Try using wallets which are non custodial such as Electrum, Guarda or Atomic wallet they all are non custodial and are available for both desktop and mobile.
4495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum wallets - Email-password generated accounts on: November 11, 2020, 05:41:39 AM
No, this is not correct.

It might be uncomplicated for a newbie to use these wallets but, it is very complicated to recover your funds from these wallets.

All of them are custodial wallets and what we promote here in this forum is to use a non-custodial wallet. We also recommend everyone to avoid hot wallets and use a cold wallet, I am sure all of them listed here are hot wallets.

Quote
I never consider to use any wallet if I have to go through KYC procedure just to use that wallet. No matter how convenience it looks like or claims to be by having multiple coins or tokens.

I am not sure whether all of them are asking users to complete KYC but if they are then it is better to avoid them.
4496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers forced into unpaid leave on: November 11, 2020, 05:06:26 AM
I'm not surprised about it anymore since it did happen already before since the start of lockdown due to the pandemic. I think this is the only way that casino owner wants to minimize the losing of money since there are strict rules implemented that there should not a mass gathering. I don't think it only happens in casino workers because everyone was affected by this new normal so almost every businesses you know and see are all affected with this kind of problem.

Very true! This situation is not special nor unique as most businesses around the globe are in survival mode. Business owners need to think of alternatives how they can lessen their operational expenses. And since casinos don't have the usual number of players, they are not generating the same income as before. Also, this situation has been experienced by most even at the start of pandemic, so they should know that this will going to happen to them. If you are an employee, you need to understand the situation and look for other options where you can earn extra income. Your job is not your whole life where you can depend on. There are some ways to get that money.

It is not only casino workers that are being laid down as a matter of fact hospitality, aviation, and entertainment industry are the worst hit by this pandemic. A lot of workers have been asked to leave as there is not enough money to sustain the business with these employees. This is the new normal now and many things will change in the coming years.

With these new laws by the government, some of these casino employees will either be hired back or will be trained for other jobs but most of them will still lose their jobs.
4497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 11, 2020, 04:43:03 AM
I was expecting a much tougher competition from DC in the finals but the MI bowlers were outstanding in picking up with the wickets and even though they were able to put on a partnership they were not able to accelerate the innings in the last five overs like they wanted and with a strong batting line up like MI it was not enough to put the pressure and DC failed to pick the wickets from the start and Rohit Sharma performed in the final after some disappointing efforts in the past few games.
Exactly, not as competitive as we have anticipated. MI dominated the complete season and along with final match. They deserve to be the champions, they have great blend of bowling and batting which was impressive. Two consecutive win for MI, but somehow the match failed to entertain us.

From the first ball till the end of the match MI was in control, I had never anticipated such a bad performance by DC they were playing as if they knew they were no match for MI. Zero effort and the urge to defeat MI was displayed by DC yesterday. Except for Shreyas Iyer and Rishab Panth, none of the other batsmen were able to face MI ballers. I guess they forgot they were playing the finals.
4498  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC $100K-288K before Dec2021 ? on: November 10, 2020, 05:59:36 PM
This topic looks more like a promotion of this so called popular blogger. I have never heard his name nor I am interested in hearing his prediction.

If you understand Bitcoin then you would have never created such a topic on a person who is trying to create FUD. This post is more in like promoting a Youtuber.

Use some common sense if you have lost it and ask a simple question to yourself when was the last time a prediction came true about Bitcoin price?

Please stop promoting such FUD creating videos.
4499  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tips to overcome fear crypto investment and reason to invest for newbies on: November 10, 2020, 05:43:42 PM
Please do not be offended but this whole post is just a recap of what this board is all about and it is useless to create such a topic when we have a dedicated board.

I am not sure what made you create this topic?

Things are very different now to what it was two years ago, earlier newbies never understood cryptocurrency and how it worked now most of them are. Still, it is a good topic but very late to write it.

4500  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: my simple way to store bitcoin - is it any good on: November 09, 2020, 08:40:17 AM
I like your idea but there is only one problem coinbase is an online wallet wherein your details will be with them in their backend after you have deleted your account. Now generally hackers attack the backend plus when ever you access your account in the future using a mobile device or a desktop then if your device is already hacked or has a malware you still can lose your Bitcoin.

Possible option is to download a desktop wallet and never use the desktop or the laptop till you want to move your Bitcoin.
