5341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Creator Dead on Covid-19? on: May 23, 2020, 12:21:33 AM
How many people are leaving this Covid-19 every day, from the rich-poor to the Prime Minister and not being able to survive this disease, on the other hand we still do not know who is Bitcoin Creator, / satoshi nakmto! Is he still alive or dead? Do you think he died in this Covid-19? And if She/he die, what impact will Be on Bitcoin?  What do you Think

Stop speculating about Satoshi and enjoy the gift he gave to this community. Why do you want to know about him? If he wanted this limelight he would have never stayed anyomous. Let him remain as he wanted it to be.

I am sure where ever he is he is safe and under self quarantine. There is nothing you can do about this virus, the only way you can keep yourself and your family safe is by following social distancing rule, washing your hands and keeping yourself in self quarantine if possible.
5342  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unconfirmed transaction on: May 23, 2020, 12:04:56 AM
I have an unconfirmed transaction from 8 hours ago. The fee I paid was 32.505 sat/B. Is this expected for the low fee I used?

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/5caaf02c7226d9c861838ae80187cd869fcd055b63a07ca6fa4f570134538798

Try not to change the fee next time when you are performing a transaction. I generally select normal fee for my transaction and they get confirmed within half an hour.

If you reduce the fee then there are chances that your transaction might not be picked up by the miners. This can cause your transaction to remain unconfirmed for more than 24 hours or it might never.
5343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto casinos pros and cons on: May 22, 2020, 11:58:32 PM
Hi guys!

We are all here because we like playing with crypto Smiley
There are many advantages of gambling in crypto casinos, e.g. privacy and speed. Or something else?
But are there some disadvantages for you compared to fiat money casinos?

Cheers,
Karl

The biggest disadvantage is the conversion rate to USD. If the cryptocurrency market goes in red while you are winning the actual value of your earnings might be less than what you invested to buy those cryptocurrencies.

This can be also an advantage if the market is up. But, most of us do not care as we are there to gamble.
5344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk PSL T20 Pool and discussion. on: May 22, 2020, 11:54:18 PM
Hopefully we have very long list of cricketers invested in bitcoin as its good for them and their activities Cheesy Wink

I don't know investment is bitcoin is good for the cricketers or not. For sure, the match fixing takes place in bitcoins and other crypto currencies so there are no traces of transactions found for illegal money transfers.
I am sure every cricketers and politicians have their hidden crypto accounts.

Why would they invest when they can easily get Bitcoin as a gift from their fans and those who are trying to fix matches. I am sure many of them have already been payed using Bitcoin. There is always a a dark side to something good.
5345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 22, 2020, 11:37:40 PM
Quote

Sourav Ganguly is the BCCI president and i hope he will vote for T20 World Cup rather than the IPL even though the loss they will be encountering will be huge, the situation in India is not that favorable to restart the matches but the situation in Austrhalia is completely different, they only have 515 positive cases and the situation is under control and hence there is a possibility for the T20 World Cup.

Sourav Ganguly is a BCCI president first and I do not think he will vote for T20 World Cup when he knows how important it is for BCCI financially to conduct IPL. Therefore I doubt he will vote Worldcup over IPL.

I am sure they will organise the IPL with out any spectators using local players and if foreign players want to come they will provide them with necessary safety measure. They will opconduct these matches in states where there are less cases as if now Kerala, Telengana, Himachal Pradesh and few others have shown a huge improvement.

Lets see what he thinks. I still prefer World cup over IPL anytime.
5346  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature campaigns and some discussion about seo on: May 22, 2020, 10:35:36 PM
With May 2020 Google update Backlink is no more important for ranking on Google search. Hence you can skip the SEO part. Those who depend on Google for traffic might have experienced a severe decline in traffic after this update.

A lot of news and cryptocurrency blogs have been complaining about this issue. It is very hard now days to generate organic traffic from Google. No matter how good is your content or how good are your social signal one bad move and everything goes down.

The only benefit of having quality backlink is to generate referral traffic, which I am sure everyone must be enjoying on their websites through Bitcointalk.
5347  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Promoted to Hero Member on: May 22, 2020, 10:20:02 PM
On November 26, 2019, I had promoted to Sr Member rank- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5204605.0
&
Now, it's Hero member here. It's more than a year I have joined the forum. I got the required merits for Hero member rank earlier but waiting for enough activity to reach there. On May 20, 2020, I got the activity too.
Thank you all for helping me a lot while I was learning about bitcoin. Without the helping hand of you guys, I would never be able to learn probably.
It was a nice journey so far; other than one incident which ruined my reputation here. I know it's something which I can't get out of at all. Nevertheless, that wouldn't be a barrier to my purpose of joining me here.
To all the newbie who want to rank up-
If you are here to expand your knowledge on bitcoin, crypto, you must not bother about the rank. As LoyceV said,
Merit was introduced to stop the massive spam from account farmers, and I think anyone who isn't a spammer shouldn't be restricted by Merit. This forum (and Bitcoin) needs new real users to grow.
&
If you are here with the sole purpose of earning, I guess you will have a huge hard time ranking up.
Thank everyone, specially Heisenburg_Hunter for the 500th merit on my profile (Although he thought I was lacking of couple of merits for Hero rank while I was lacking of enough activity).
It's fun to be a part of such a forum.

Congratulations @RapTarX!
Good the hear about your achievement.
It is not easy anymore to become Hero member. I was going through your post and found most of them are very helpfull and informative. Keep up the good work and you will achieve the legendary status shortly.
5348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinmarketcap or Coingecko? on: May 22, 2020, 09:53:48 PM
CMC is now become centralized, whereas Coingecko is still not controlled by a centralized system. Another reason for not using CMC anymore is that is now very slow and takes a lot of time to load because of the advertisement. Coingecko on the other hand is fast and simple to use.
5349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to be invested in Crypto while staying away from gambling? on: May 22, 2020, 09:33:47 PM
I've been around the crypto scene since pre 2013 pump. Been around blackcoin pumps, pinkcoin pumps (all the color coin pumps), all the country-coin pumps (remember those?), every shitcoin known to man.

I even knew about ethereum (commented on page 4 or 5 on their announcement thread) and was a huge believer in the project. .....but instead of sending btc to their ICO site on a summer day in 2014, I sent it to nitrogen sports with the intention of making more btc to send to their ICO.

Throughout the years, I've done similar things with various alts: Monero, dark-coin (DASH), Cardano, you name it. I had them with hopes of holding onto them to watch their value grow...but couldn't...and gambled it away with 3AM challenger tennis, random soccer matches, or baseball over/unders (though, when I go on a binge, I actually start off pretty damn well, but get tilted the moment I lose a few times).

I'm a big believer in the crypto space but it's difficult for me to hold coins without gambling. The thing is, I have no issue controlling myself when I don't hold crypto. I could go to a casino or wherever and not have any urge to bet with fiat. Idk what it is about cryptocurrency. I just get so into certain coins that I want to make more so that I can get a bigger stack to hodl...but then by trying to get more the quick way, I lose it all.

Anyone feel similar?

How do you combat the urge to gamble with your cryptocurrency?

I do not have such an issue. I buy an amount of cryptocurrency every month for my gambling habit. At the moment I have stopped doing that as I do not feel like gambling because of the present virus situation.

I do not gamble with cryptocurrency that I have kept for long term HODL or for trading. I keep them seperately till date I have not mixed it up as I maintain a seperate excel file for both of them.
5350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shower thought. If nations/states/governments are accumulating Bitcoin, then on: May 22, 2020, 09:23:36 PM
I believe they must be doing it in secret. What would be the advantage for North Korea, or Iran, to let everyone know that they are accumulating/mining/HODLING?

Why would government of countries do that? When they know they can print their local currency whenever they want. Bitcoin is still not a global currency. Countries like North Korea and Iran do. It need Bitcoin but USD. They have been secretly accumulating USD by unfair means.

Bitcoin is the currency for common man to break the shackles of centralisation and save his savings. It is a currency of the Internet and countries do not operate only on internet.
5351  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin ever get past $10K? on: May 22, 2020, 09:13:03 PM
It's already been past halving, yet prices continue to fluctuate between the $9k to $9.5k range. I've noticed that each time prices try to reach $10k, everything "falls out" immediately. Is this a result of price manipulation by whales? At this pace, it's hard to believe that Bitcoin will ever get past $10k. Even if it does get past $10k, reaching a new ATH in price could be quite challenging.

Since it's been only a week after Bitcoin's third halving, anything could happen in the future. Right now, we're in a level of uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Maybe Bitcoin will be able to break out to new levels in price after all of this is over? Or will it continue to rise while Fiat goes down the drain? Whichever way Bitcoin goes forward in terms of price, many people will still support it. Fees are at an increasing rate, so we'll have to wait until everything goes back to normal (both in Bitcoin and the mainstream world) for prices to head all the way past $10k and beyond.

What are your thoughts? Do you think Bitcoin will ever get past $10k? Huh

Actually Bitcoin is performing way better this time if we compared it with 2016 halving. It is looking stable and has been maintaining 9k to 9.5k price range. Considering the global economic situation it is performing way better than the stock markets.

So keep on holding and start accumulating more as Bitcoin is still below 10k. It will surely go beyond 10k but no one knows when.
5352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Pizza day 2020 on: May 22, 2020, 12:17:39 PM
One thing that most people don't realize about Laszlo and the Bitcoin pizza ordeal is that he didn't just buy 2 Large Pizzas ( Papa Johns too, the most awful pizza you can buy here in the United States ) for 10,000 bitcoins, he stated here on bitcointalk that he spent at least 30,000 bitcoins on several purchases of pizza.  Not sure if all Papa Johns or not.  Crazy stuff. Some call him an idiot for this, which is simply wrong.  He was the first to use it as a means of exchange and that sure is worth celebrating.

If you're looking for a cool Bitcoin Pizza wallet - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5249731.0

I think it would be wrong to say he was stupid considering the value of Bitcoin at that time. In my opinion he was the one who started the first Bitcoin adoption initiative. There might be others who might have done the same thing but he became famous because of the quantity of Bitcoin he used to buy those pizzas.

5354  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The next serious threat to bitcoin after Coronavirus on: May 21, 2020, 11:00:38 PM
First of all the Bitcoin dump that you are referring in your post has no relation with Corona virus. The second thing is that this thread is to discuss about trading and not politics it would be better if you shift your topic here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=34.0

I think every human has the right to follow and preach his or her religion. You cannot particularly point one religion as the cause of all the issues in this world.

As per me religion is personal and I believe in living in peace without any boundaries.
5355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Binance beat Ethereum on: May 21, 2020, 10:52:17 PM
i find binance a fine exchange and also own some bnb but to beat ethereum? , not sure about that , for sure BNB can reach another ATH and binance can become bigger , but ethereum is awaiting of the implementation of 2.0 and also a lot of people own some so i give ethereum a better chanche

I think the way Binance has been promoting its native token BNB and it's exchange the chance of it reaching the top 4 cryptocurrency according to market cap is very high. I highly doubt it will be able to beat Ethereum as people believe in transparency which Binance lack a lot.
5356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: May 21, 2020, 10:10:20 PM
Biden is an awful candidate.

He is awful for few reasons:

1. He is old.

2. His son is corrupt (it's funny, because in our country, Ukraine, you can;t do any business without a bribe, so, if you want to deal with Ukraine, you need to bribe) and because all this scandal in Ukraine it will be hard to Biden get out of this. It's a trump card for Trump  Cheesy

3. He is democrat, but as i know, major part of americans want from president another promises, than promise to feed all Mexicans.

I think he does not have what it needs to beat Trump.

If Trump can change the current situation before the elections then I think he will win. Unfortunately I doubt it will happen by that time.
5357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 21, 2020, 10:04:38 PM
ICC seriously needs to re-start the cricket ASAP. It should be doing it in steps:

1. Get it started with empty stadiums.
2. In the next few months, start keeping little crowd, like 10k people in 25k capacity.
3. Keep improving the number of people in stadiums till the end of COVID19.

I think empty stadium is a good idea till a cure comes out. Why take a risk?

Crowd will never follow social distancing,  whatever kind of rules you lay in people will get excited and forget those rules. They should organise these matches without any crowds.
5358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin And The Technology By offered on: May 21, 2020, 09:33:04 PM
First of all this is a wrong board for your topic. You should shift it here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=1.0

Bitcoin is a revolution in financial sector. Big financial institutions are afraid of its power and that power is known as decentralisation. The technology that runs Bitcoin is Blockchain which is another advantage as it gives transparency to every transaction.

Yes, Bitcoin is an internet driven digital currency. In order to access it you only need internet and a device that can run it. You donot need smartphone always. On your desktop computer or your laptop you can access this technology.
5359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Huobi's VP accuses BNB and CMC for 'distorting' crypto rankings on: May 21, 2020, 09:16:30 PM
This is not new for CMC before they were bought by the most shady cryptocurrency entrepreneur's exchange they were playing with the ranking.

As for Binance they will be using this platform for their own benefit. I am sure most of us here will agree with it. This was bound to happen when they bought this platform. More of such petty tricks will be coming soon.
5360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2009 coins on the move? Probably not Satoshi on: May 21, 2020, 09:00:28 PM
~

Perhaps, the person "Hal" isn't the only one who handles the address shown above, meaning to say that there's really someone behind the move of this 50BTC.

Looking upon the implication of this activity, I do not find anything wrong or bad as I see it positively, that bitcoin, even though, bitcoins mined 10 years ago, is circulating up until now. No wonder why people should really value bitcoin as it can really be profitable in the long run.
Probably a lot of doubt that it is satoshi but we don't really know but holding for that long is really historic or maybe a legend. It doesn't make sense why it moves today but for sure we are going to experience the effects of this in the coming months. Everybody is getting excited about this since the bitcoin address received 50Biticoin just a week after the bitcoin is created.

We never know if its the real satoshi it might be someone that is just ready to invest in bitcoin at the beginning of all of this.

"The coins in this transaction were mined in the first month of Bitcoin's existence."

Link

Why make such a big issue whether it is Satoshi or not?

Some veteran transferred it and it is evident by age of the wallet and the amount when it was mined. Why poke a nose into some ones affair.

Speculating whether it was Satoshi or not has to be stopped.
