461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Euro 2020 caused a spike in gamlbing issues on: August 25, 2021, 04:13:58 PM
It isn't the sports or charities who should adjust but rather those who are experiencing gambling addiction to seek professional help because it's a personal issue due to personal choice. Any form of addiction would be hard to be cured and it will take time. However, self-control and self-discipline would be a big help if a person is willing to change his path.
Exactly, like what they say, don't shoot the messenger. I think the best thing to do in that kind of situation is to always seek professional help. @Obito might be right you know, the spike could be a temporary thing or a coincidence of some sort.
462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best wallet for Crypto Sportbooks deposits/withdrawals? on: August 25, 2021, 03:38:35 PM
By using Electrum you can avoid taxes even if you do then its evading not avoiding there is a hige difference between that. Using Electrum can avoid the account getting frozen but if the casinos also against the country where you are living and the prohibited users then its don't gamble at all.
That's still the same in the eyes of the law, remember that evasion of taxes is going to be bad and it's not a good time to do that when the government can seize your asset, penalize you for evasion and at the same time a jail time although with a possibility of bail. Another thing that you can do is hire a treasure man if you really want to avoid paying taxes, it's a new but risky method of turning crypto into fiat.
463  Economy / Economics / Re: Bullish? Bankers Issue ‘Seismic’ Warning: crypto could replace USD in 5 years on: August 25, 2021, 03:09:14 PM
I don't think crypto has the power to replace USD, but it definitely has the power to make banks look old and obsolete. That's why the banking lobby is pushing governments to impose a blanket ban on cryptos. I receive weekly mailer from my bank and a warning against cryptocurrency is a staple part of that mailer! Inevitably they mention the bitcoin is a risky things and they advise their users to stay away from it.

So banking lobby is already facing the heat and very well understood that cryptocurrency can make them irrelevant from the financial scenario. But bitcoin alone can't do it. Neither it can replace USD. Not at least in our lifetime!
It's already an obsolete system even before bitcoin, what bitcoin did was to expose banks that either they need to change things for good or they will die a slow painful death which isn't really good for everyone because when it comes to slow, the people will be affected too. But even if they're facing this kind of heat right now, the government still has their backs so they might be able to live much longer.
464  Economy / Economics / Re: The reason to hodl bitcoin on: August 25, 2021, 02:25:28 PM
Here's a simple reason that I believe is why I am still hodling bitcoin, it's because what I have today might be double or even triple in months if not years or it could also be years plus it's a good way to make your money grow, having nothing to do with it, you can let it stay there for a long period of time and hopefully expect it to go up.
465  Economy / Economics / Re: Pakistan's Economy are going to crisis for Taliban? on: August 25, 2021, 01:38:12 PM
I don’t understand what point of view you want to explain. Pakistan’s economy has always been on the verge of collapse. Afghanistan’s current economic situation is also extremely bad, with little impact on Pakistan. The country with the largest real investment in Pakistan is China. The impact of China's national investment policy on Pakistan will be obvious.
Really, is it always been that way? Then how come they're still doing just fine and they even have this seeding projects that aims to grow a lot of trees, pretty sure that it's an expensive project plus don't they have a nuclear arsenal?
466  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin @ $50k on: August 25, 2021, 01:02:55 PM
It seems that a lot of people have taken a profit at this point because most crypto are already down this day, I think that this is a good opportunity if anyone wants to buy some bitcoin because it's only a matter of time for the prices to go back up again.
467  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did I do the right thing? I bought shares of MicroStrategy. on: August 25, 2021, 12:29:53 PM

Hi mate, no, it doesn't pay dividends: -"MSTR does not currently pay a dividend"

Source: https://stocknews.com/stock/MSTR/dividends/

This is common in these types of technology companies but the return you can get from capital appreciation is much higher than dividend-paying blue-chips.
Totally agree with your analysis, although I am a fan of blue chip stocks, I can see where you're getting at. My goal is to get a big passive income as much as I can so I am a fan of blue chip.
468  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we in 2017 again? How do you feel about the price chart today? on: August 24, 2021, 07:22:11 PM
Man, I really wish we go on a winter, I have to buy more bitcoin because I feel like I don't have enough yet, my goal is to at the least reach 0.1 bitcoin this year but it seems that the current price rally, it's going to be impossible this year.
469  Economy / Speculation / Re: People are panic buying right now! on: August 24, 2021, 06:41:04 PM
I think this is not the right time to buy some any crypto as of moment August 24, 2021, 04:34:17 PM forum time the Bitcoin right now is slowly decreasing and it will continue till October in my opinion. So it is much better to hold our funds right now and invest at the right time. But it is up to you on how you will gonna manage your funds it is just my opinion only.
That's right, depends on your own calls, that's your opinion and we don't know what's going to happen yet so better to wait. I think that we should also be careful and not sell anything yet because you might end up missing out on much bigger profit.
470  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did I do the right thing? I bought shares of MicroStrategy. on: August 24, 2021, 05:57:17 PM
If you hold on to it in the long-term, I think that you did the right thing of buying some shares in Microstrategy, I mean you didn't do anything wrong buying a good stock, is it a dividend paying one though because that can affect how worth it buying those shares.
471  Economy / Economics / Re: After 1 year of Covid 19 Virus on: August 24, 2021, 05:22:26 PM
What are you talking about? It is not the responsibility of the WHO to create vaccines. Only the pharmaceutical companies such as Pfizer and AstraZeneca can do that. What the WHO can do is to make sure that effective vaccines reach all the counties, so that there is no severe shortage of the medication. Companies in certain sectors (hotels, aviation, tourism.etc) have gone bankrupt, and there is not much we can do about it. Full economic recovery will occur only when the pandemic is contained. And unfortunately, that is at least 6-7 months away.
Could've prevented the economic distress if the government of some countries followed a strict guidelines and did the necessary preventions to stop the entry of the virus in the first place. One example is my country, the virus has been ravaging China already but they didn't seem to care about the people and that they felt that it's offensive to China to close our borders and now here we are celebrating two years of lockdown.
472  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a possibility of a Country to ban access to Crypto games? on: August 24, 2021, 04:50:04 PM
Are you talking about Axie Infinity? I think that a decentralized platform can't be taxed or banned by the government and it's going to be difficult for them to ban the game because people will find a way to bypass the ban and go on like it's not banned.
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: August 24, 2021, 04:13:25 PM

Agree on this. I watch the match of LGD and Alliance and I'm how the heck dying buff or am I missing something. This is my first time to watch again Dota2 as I'm a bit busy, I don't have time to read the patch notes but the only thing that has a major changes was the removal of some neutral item. LGD still without nothingtosay in there roster.  I believe they might get the TI title this year.
It's important to read the patch notes if you want to keep up or you can probably watch games to stay on what's currently happening, I read the patch notes so I don't have to watch matches and just see the highlights plus it's not the tine to bet yet, I am spending all that I save in The International.
474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 24, 2021, 03:40:19 PM
And they already embarrass other athletes! In addition to the difficulties that it has to overcome, many paralympic teams perform better than the olympic teams.
Now that's preposterous, I mean if you try and compete them equally, I am pretty sure that the athletes that don't have a disability is going to win. That's invalidating the efforts oof the other teams is what you're saying just to say that you support Paralympics.
475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: August 24, 2021, 03:04:57 PM
The Dota teams started to prepare for TI10 now. So far it still seems like a mess because of the new patch. All the strategy got changed again and we don't know if there will be some fixes before TI or if this is it now. I started to follow some more pub games to see how the top players are doing. But most of the time i just see some meme strategies, like for examples Venge coming back as carry. It will hard to predict the winner this year.
It's a bit of adjustment for the teams qualified I think, not a lot of changes and the only ones that are really new is the neutral items which isn't really game changer unless it's tier 4 or tier 5 NI. I think this is good because we will see how good they are with this new patch.
476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UK 20% of the gambling venues are located at the poorest part of the country on: August 24, 2021, 02:16:42 PM
Maybe they have a bigger percentage of players in the poorest part of the country. It's also more convenient and cheaper for them to hold a gambling event in the poorest areas. We also know that poorer people are more into gambling than lots of rich people because they're hoping that gambling could change their lives.
Of course there's more poor people that is gambling than those at the middle and upper class, remember that those in the middle and upper at the least knows that gambling and excessive gambling is only good for the gambling houses plus this people have a tradition of gambling that's why they have more gambling there.
477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 24, 2021, 01:42:24 PM
More and more Filipino players are going to B-League already and this is kinda alarming especially for the PBA itself. After the season, we might see another players going there again or those young players might try and play in Japan. Well as for Ray Parks, I think that he will play good there.
Probably the reason for that is that PBA must not be that profitable to get in compared to B League. It's alarming but I feel like the popularity of PBA slumped this year. BRP Jr. Is definitely going to improve their as you've said, Nagoya is a strong team and hopefully he can learn more during his stay there.
478  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Bitcointalk assisted in my financial stability on: August 23, 2021, 07:09:48 PM
The knowledge mainly and the signature campaign payments plus other than those two, I was able to make a lot of money watching out for good cryptocurrencies to invest in. You got lucky that you didn't touch your bitcoin when there's a crash and I hope that you continue doing that and hopefully you can get more profit in the future. Good luck with your DeFi journey, it's a risky one so tread carefully.
479  Economy / Economics / Re: We exited the bear market earler than expected on: August 23, 2021, 06:10:56 PM

I think it depends on the plan of the trader himself in taking the risk and rewards. There are people who buy when it's $50k, but they only use part of their capital, and when it's $30k they buy back. he sees that the trend is still bullish, so he buys at every support he believes in, and because this decline is considered only a market correction
It was at the back of my mind but I disregarded it but you're right, they could do that and I think that I would be doing the same thing and hopefully I can make some out of it although my question is what happens if they didn't put all in in 50k and it continues to rally?
480  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you be able to take an additional work if required? on: August 23, 2021, 05:24:42 PM
For the current situation of the world? I wouldn't mind to take multiple jobs right now as my current workplace is having skeletal work force due to Covid-19 and while I cannot rely my job to earn decent amount well I will take what opportunity will come to me as long as that one is not illegal. I'm sure other has the same mindset to since its really hard to get a good pay cuts now so we can expect that many people are now doing multiple jobs just to provide food to their family.
Me too, I don't have a lot of places to go to and I can adapt from a work from home set up given that the company provides me with enough money for the time I spend on them and at the same time they also subsidize the equipments needed for work. Maybe not another full time job but maybe another side hustle can work
