When fork happens, the difficulty, will it be the same? if so, probably we'll get stuck in the first block after fork
The difficulty will be the same. If the hashrate drops substantially it will simply take a while longer to find the first block after the fork height.

HELP!! ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Would anyone be kind enough to shed some light on how I might go about resolving this DB error. I noticed whilst downloading the blockchain (output from moenrod) that we had stopped @ 20:57 / Block 1347628. I decided to reboot as the server had completely crashed. After I realised that the controller/hard disk had fallen over, I restarted but it refused 3 times on the trot. I'm guessing that as the last entry in the log before that block of corrupt data (....±ÏüÞ¶o@¬Æ¦]Cê±ÏüÞ¶o@¬Æ¦]Cê±ÏüÞ.....) is 20:56 / Block 1347408, that the data I saw from monerod (blocks 1347408 to 1347628) was the last amount of data the server had in memory before it simply couldn't write it to the hd. <snip> Your blockchain is corrupted. You can apply this guide: https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/6586/daemon-shuts-down-on-startup-mdb-bad-txn-transaction-must-abort-has-a-child/

Some info on the Monero hard fork: https://getmonero.org/2018/02/11/PoW-change-and-key-reuse.htmlwe strongly believe that it's beneficial to preserve our ASIC resistance. Therefore, we will perform an emergency hard fork to curb any potential threat from ASICs if needed. Furthermore, in order to maintain its goal of decentralization and to provide a deterrent for ASIC development and to protect against unknown or undetectable ASIC development, the Monero team proposes modifying the Cryptonight PoW hash every scheduled fork, twice a year. The modifications will be light, and should not change performance profiles much. The first change is now being tested, and will happen in the coming March fork. Finally, we will continue to research alternative Proof of Work functions that may provide better ASIC resistance than Cryptonight.
Patches will be available for the following software: zone117x's pool, Snipa's pool, Lucas Jones' CPU miner, wolf0's CPU miner, ccminer-cryptonight, sgminer-gm, xmr-stak, xmrig-nvidia, wolf-xmr-miner. I must have missed it but do we know which block will activate the fork There's currently no block height set yet. It'll probably be set soon though.

Hello! We need help. Today has made a transaction of 0.64 xmr with Cryptopia to the local Monero wallet. XMR left the stock exchange, but did not come to the local wallet. In the local wallet, the balance is displayed as zero. Could you tell me, please, that need to do. ID the translation was not specified.

Does anyone know anything about the upcomming Bulletproof release? It hasn't been validated just yet, but I heard from a friend that there may be a fee reduction of 84%? Would be great!
Bulletproofs are under development but there is no specific release scheduled yet. The technology is very new and the math/cryptography team is still coming up with improvements, scrutinizing it for weaknesses, etc. There is a plan for a full formal review before it goes live. It does indeed reduce transaction size (and therefore fees) by about 80%. To add, for anyone interested in Bulletproofs & fees, see: https://getmonero.org/2017/12/11/A-note-on-fees.htmlThank you dEBRUYNE, this was well worth the read. Do you know if the testnet with Bulletproofs is far off as mentioned here? The single-output Bulletproofs are currently live on testnet. However, Bulletproofs in general will not be live on mainnet until, probably, September this year, as we want to have them properly audited, i.e., check whether the code matches the math in the paper, check whether there are no "coin-killer" bugs in there, and more generally extend the time how long it has been out there (the paper is only a few months old).

When are we getting a new software release?
I have asked this not to long ago, but it seems like there are many critical commits in the master branch.
I think we need a new stable release soon, tons of bugs have been fixed, but I also don't want to run the current master branch until it's not tested well enough.
Any news from the dev team about that?
There should be a new release next month.
