and i'm in the red something like 4 BTC... ARGH.
How in the fuck does that happen ?! Shorters ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) negative. not an trader at all actually. it's a couple loans from way, way back when the price was like 300 or under. i've just been a fail of a money maker and not gotten it paid down. the thread is out there in the lending sub-forum i'm sure.

technically i'm sinking deeper in debt by the minute as the price rises, but ya know what? still damned exciting.

Would be great if those that want to do block size discussion would make a note at the beginning of their post like: Block Size Discussion:
That would help a lot in skipping posts easier. Thanks.
Or...discuss it in a separate thread...like in an appropriate subforum...
welcome to the wall observer thread. you sound new here.

Watching Stamp to see if we have really turned.
The book is pretty thin - 1000 BTC either bought or sold will make a huge price difference, so Stamp (which looks a leader right now) is very vulnerable to whale whims...
Tread carefully. I am looking for a dip to blow the last of my fiat, I put half of what I sold at the high 900s back in at 798 yesterday and then it went below. Thankfully I am ok now - but I haven't got a clue if I will get one more dip or not for the other half. Let's see.
EDIT: Wishing everyone a filthy French Weekend of screen action.
filthy french weekend?

Just sending fiat to an exchange hehe. If it goes below 500$ I'll buy half a dozen btc. Well, I would buy at this price too, it's just I have to wait fore the prehistoric wire transfer. Someone knows a way to instantly buy btc? (Not localbitcoins).
i've used virwox. it's quick. minutes. assuming your card will work... or paypal. that works for sure. my former bank debit card did, but my current one does not. no idea why. probably a "USA doesn't like skrill" thing. i don't know. but yea. deposit to virwox, exchange to SLL, exchange to BTC, withdraw.

I'm ready for some fiat inflation... Fire up them presses, build us some infrastructure, military, cool stuff for us.. Get it inflated real good then print some more to pay off a good chunk of our debt for pennies on the dollar in actual value.. While I sit on my Bitcoins and other such investments of real value.. Time for an economic shakeup.. infrastructure is always a good place to spend, god knows some areas of the US need it... i could really see the USD price of BTC having a lot of upward movement under this administration.

We better get our fucking shit together and make this shit fucking work. The scaling issue MUST be solved, one way or another. Core needs to get on board or they need to get kicked the FUCK out.
There is no scaling issue. Bitcoin is working fine and everything is great. ...why... do i not believe you? (quoting Batty from ferm gully, voiced by Robin Williams.) seriously though - i've been out of the loop for months. has the scaling stuff, bitcoin core v. classic, etc etc, seriously not been solved? Christ in heaven guys. You saying Jesus has bitcoins? that would require i believe he exists. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

I would have been wealthy by now if two developers hadn't scammed me, one was the stepscoin developer and another coin developer stole 18 bitcoins from me. It will take me a long time to recover but am hoping now I am making healthier investment choices, I can get it all back one day.
ouch. that... ouch. course i'm sitting here with something like 4 BTC debt to a fellow forumite from a few loans several years ago... it was about 360 when i borrowed. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) I personally believe these are reasons why each of us need to attempt some moderation in our approach and to not put all of our eggs in one basket. Sure, I believe that some of the early adopters of bitcoin had leveraged and gambled greatly by purchasing a lot of coins, and that risk paid off greatly - however, that kind of mindset is going to be likely to backfire on you, if you keep doing it. Frequently, such a tactic is referred to as the Martingale method - and statistically it does not pay off. I am not opposed to gambling with a portion of your holdings (maybe less than 20% - even though I would refrain from doing that much), but you gotta consider a solid plan, such as dollar cost averaging and just socking that money away without thinking about it. So in the case of bitcoin that means accumulating bitcoin with whatever budget that you have (whether that is $10 a week or $100 a week) and don't be taking major risks that are going to likely result in losing large amounts of your coins. moderation in all things is one of the better bits of advice i've ever heard from anyone. i see no reason nt to apply it to finances either. insert "without great risk, there is no great reward" to counter that... but ya know, while i used to get wide eyed at the potential of quick riches with bitcoin, i'm perfectly ok with moderate rewards nowadays.

They say the 2nd time is always better than the first.
Are we talking about sex or bitcoins? LOL I'm almost afraid to get excited this time though. Last time we really didn't know what was going on. As far as I was concerned it would go up forever. This time we can be fairly sure it's happening because of the Chinese governments capital controls and their desire to keep yuan from fleeing the country. What happens when the Chinese govt realizes bitcoin is being used to usurp the govt imposed $50k outflow limit? Kind of puts a damper on the whole party spirit. how would they really stop it though? genie out of the bottle, and all that. the great chinese firewall is farm from impenetrable after all.

We're at ~7300 ATH is 8000
So, about 700 to go, right?
Not quite. Houbi and OKCoin were 8000, but BTCC, market leader at that time by volume (before the days of wash trading), was ~7600. The true weighted average is probably closer to 7800-7900 CNY. either way, we are pushing higher, it seems.

Nice throwback of a thread. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Even the original poster doesn't have a name. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) That was an interesting time and this is sort of a time machine back to see what people were thinking was going to happen back then with this new and unknown piece of currency. The ones that stuck with it through thick and thin have really benefited the most of and and continue to do so. Glad to be part of this wild roller coaster ride too, well the good times that it had shown me so far atleast. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Well, yeah, it is a hell of a ride for me over 2016, my bitcoin stash at one stage peaked at 30~ BTC but then lost it all on various sites gambling. That was my mistake, especilaly when I could have just held the coins and reaped a nice profit from the price hikes. 30 BTC is $30,000 at current price levels. It hurts to even speak about it lmao. 20 BTC myself. sold most for badly needed money around 100 a coin... have nothing but dust now.
