461  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Maybe future trade is gambling on: January 12, 2024, 08:20:54 PM
I'd say that futures is really a gamble and that's why no newbie should touch it with big amounts of money that they can't afford to lose. Because if they do, it's even riskier than gambling because with gambling you can have your luck but with futures, no luck, no experience and analysis if combined, you're giving away your money and letting the market burn you on an instant basis.
Do you mean it was more than we are gambling?
Well, just to carry over the risk in Futures trading and having an empty knowledge in doing this, it certainly will end up emptying our wallet and easily lose our money. It was just the same in gambling that we are now seeking for luck. But I don't it is right to say that Futures trading is gambling because the main concern now is the user. Even in spot trading, no way you can trade with empty knowledge nor go into war without everything, it simply just lose te battle and die. But if we totally equipped with knowledge and skills, earning a profit is not impossible.
462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to ride and stop! on: January 12, 2024, 03:04:02 PM
~snip~

It is important to know that gambling does not necessarily give us consecutive wins and for people who think they can win once, they will probably try more to be able to win many times. There is nothing wrong with someone who wants to get more luck, but you also have to be careful if you want to increase your bet. .
Yes, and if gamblers always remember this, the impact of risk in gambling can also be minimized. because he is always aware that winning once doesn't necessarily mean he will win again tomorrow, but for gamblers who are greedy in their pursuit of victory, this is not important to him because he will try to play continuously so that his money increases again. .
Yes, it's natural that every gambler hopes to win and it's true that we have to be careful in acting or making decisions when gambling so that later we don't regret the money we usually bet there.

Our luck never comes always and every day. And we can never expect we be lucky throughout the day as this will just stay quiet sometimes not knowing when it comes again. That is why take the chance while we still have but must stop gambling if we never feel better and keep on losing because that is an indication that the situation is not on our side.

Unfortunately, many gamblers are in the chase of getting back their losses and still continue gambling even if they keep losing. A wrong mindset and decision would also lead to a worse scenario.
463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We dont own enough bitcoin on: January 12, 2024, 02:13:40 PM
What is enough for you then? Because those who only have limited sources of income and a low budget for investment, are already happy and said enough to have at least some. Maybe if you are a rich person, 1BTC, or 10BTC seems to be enough. A person can invest depending on their capabilities and budget but I don't say they will focus solely on crypto, not a safe one. I'd rather suggest to everyone to spread their investment for some reason and safety assurance.

Even though we saw the continuous growth of Bitcoin we can't assure that everything will go okay in the future. At least having another form of investment could save us from losing all our money.
464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to check if an altcoin is a scam on: January 12, 2024, 01:28:21 PM
New projects may not always bring high potential. Be careful before participating in new projects that can be scams. New projects must research different sites. All the information about who is managing the project can be found out and then it can be said as expected. New things may go well in the beginning but may also face tough challenges later on.
Nowadays, most new projects are low quality projects or scam projects. It is rather difficult to find out potential projects. Sure, we must be very careful to analyze the new projects and decide to join them. We can't focus on analyzing the whitepaper of the projects only, the developers become smarter to create good whitepaper. Sometimes, the whitepaper of the projects look very convincingly but in reality they are just projects with no clear improvement. And it is true that in some cases, the projects stopped suddenly and there are no more updated information from the teams/developers. As the results, the investors lost their funds because it is stolen by the scammers.

New projects are usually scams and even seeing that a project looks so promising but can't guarantee its success. Because many of those projects turned into scams and ended their journey shortly. Some are gaining hype at the start but after a few days, they're gone. And this is the reason why we can't blame investors for rejecting new projects and with their bad experiences have made up their minds and decided to just choose old coins instead of new ones. In the end, only newcomers thought that new projects could be trusted and regretted later.
465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 12, 2024, 11:51:27 AM
Gambling every day means you are to lose every day and you will definitely lose more tb the wins . And that means you to enrich the casino company with your salary and become the most poorish person in the societ. And If anyone like to gamble then at least one or twice a week is okay.
Gambling every day is a bad habit. Maybe if we just gamble 1 hour per day, I think that is still acceptable but more than 1 hour that is a big NO NO.
Well, we couldn't say that we are making the casino become rich but these wrong practices will affect our mental health. Yes, while the casinos are benefiting from us, we are also draining our finances which most gamblers never noticed.
Quote
Gambling every day will not give you the luck win. And the lucky win comes once and if it is once then you lose every day to win that wins.

So your loses will be more the one day win. It's like gambling has not done your friend anything.
Luck doesn't just come once but not every day, and not the whole day. If we are lucky today, we can't expect we will still be lucky tomorrow.
466  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you ready for crypto investing in 2024? on: January 12, 2024, 10:24:30 AM
For this year I have invested in new coins, and will probably plan to increase the portfolio I have. However, this year has quite a lot that could make crypto prices rise, especially popular coins. Well, I'm very enthusiastic and believe that this could be a very good year to increase the value of the assets that we own. So, I don't want to miss out. Besides, I think many people have been preparing for this since the end of 2023.
I believe so because I started accumulating some top coins BTC and ETH last 2022 and 2023, I filled my bag already making no purchases anymore this year until the right time to sell. But for those who have not yet filled their bag, then must consider this time before the price skyrockets. We are expecting another bullish soon and this upcoming halving will help for it just like what we have experienced in the previous halving where the impact is remarkable.
Grab the chance and never miss out or else, you will have to wait for another 4 years.
467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online or offline gambling which is more safer? on: January 11, 2024, 10:29:18 PM
Sometimes people are always addicted to playing gambling online and this has made them loss alot of funds, due to always topping up theire casino account with there debit card when they loose. and this usually makes them exhaust all there funds.

While those people playing offline in casino halls play with only the little money they have at hand, and that will reduce the risk of over spending. So now my question is this

Playing online or offline gambling which is more preferable in terms of risk reduction?
It's very important to recognize that the choice between online and offline gambling doesn't determine a set spending limit. Surprisingly, some individuals tend to engage in more gambling activities offline than they do online, and both avenues carry similar risks.

For someone struggling with a gambling addiction, the mode of play won't necessarily deter them. They may find ways to fund their online account or continue gambling locally. While having the convenience of funding your betting account can make it more accessible to place bets at any time, it also presents the risk of developing an addiction. Moreover, relying on the funds already available in your gambling account may contribute to a cycle of continuous betting, potentially leading to more significant losses over time.
That is how gambling addiction ruins our lives and whether it is offline or online casino the results are still the same as overspending happens.
Once we have fallen into addiction, that hard to get out because what is in our mind and what gives us pleasure is to gamble, nothing else. Because most of the casino games are available online, the more it fueled to such addiction as we can access anywhere as long as we have internet. This is why those who want to stop gambling, prefer to stay in a place that internet is not available so they aren't tempted to get back.
468  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best decision you can take on: January 11, 2024, 09:49:17 PM
One of the hallmarks of trading is taking action based on the market.  You should definitely not trade when the market is volatile.  Greed and haste never bring anything good. Even after realizing that the market is not good, if someone creates greedily, it is natural that he will lose everything. But it is very difficult to accept it.  Greed is always difficult to deal with.  But it is not impossible anymore.  It is better to be satisfied with little than to lose everything.  No one will necessarily risk their capital.  When the market is volatile and there is no certainty one should stay away from the market or be left with nothing but regret if all goes wrong.
The volatility of the market is the reason why traders grown and encourage people to join. But if we have that greediness inside, it only leads to failure and losses. Those who do not know contentment in life, especially in trading never succeed. I have had that experience before, I'd never sell my coins seeing that the trend is going high but a sudden drop is very inevitable making me miss the chance. We can't really underestimate the volatility of the market and I learn that earning just a few $$$ in every close trade is enough.
469  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: January 11, 2024, 12:12:04 PM

So I want to ask, between the gambling addict and his immediate family, who does the addiction affect the most?
The most affected ones are ourselves mentally and physically.

Not to mention a lot but generally, addiction could ruin everything --our future, relationships, and most of all, finances.
Many reports that someone (a gambler) commits suicide after losing millions, some defaulted on loans, some got separated, etc --and this is because of gambling addiction.

So don't try falling into this because it is hard to get out of addiction once you're there.
470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Look out for a good Altcoin and buy now! on: January 11, 2024, 11:34:35 AM
 - never waits for the market to heat before making an urge to invest. If we are just about to invest, make it happen now and choose the leading coins as much as possible, not meme coins or shitcoins.

 - halving is coming near, let us assume that a huge pump comes next. So we must decide now and never waste the time left before skyrocketing.

Furthermore, investment should not be done in a rush, we must think wisely and spend our money on a worthy investment. Success and profit are the result of choosing the right coins, so be it.

471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think women will make better gamblers by their nature? on: January 11, 2024, 08:40:48 AM
Women by nature are more conservative than men. They are better manager of resources and know how to prioritise things. This is what is needed for successful gambling because with it, the chances of using funds meant for basic needs in gambling will be minimised.

So do you think women will make better gamblers than men?
Being a successful gambler is not just because we are conservative or let us say, we are good at managing the bankroll, you might forget that if you are not lucky, you still never win. Have we heard of a woman becoming successful in gambling? Maybe I miss seeing it but most of the gamblers are men, which means that they are good at gambling compared to women.

But successful gamblers spend more. A conservative person just wins over addiction but not gambling itself.
472  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Achieving a goal on: January 10, 2024, 10:03:20 PM
Hey folks,

Basically, I have around 25$k to invest, and I really want to hit least 200K$ by the end of this year.
Could you please give me some tips and advises?
Also, It is an amount that I honestly don't want to lose since it counts significantly to my capital.
Background story, I have quite the portfolio that would count around 150k$ at current prices, some I sold early and some went greedy and lost.
I did learn a though lesson about patience tho.
Also, psychologically I am done with trading since the lost, I was great at it but one drunk night got me bad lol.
Don't drink and trade folks.

Thanks a lot!

$25k is a huge amount already and it is possible to earn much from it if managed so well. Since you are good at trading, that seems to be not hard for you to grow it and reach your goal but at this time, you need to be serious and avoid those mistakes that you've made in the past (drinking) or else, this will be the reason of losing your $25k instantly. Must remember that greediness is a huge factor affecting our trade and you must control it. Many people have been good in trading but greed has ruined everything and turned their capital to 0. Your experience would help you to do good and avoid them from happening again.
473  Economy / Gambling / Re: Responsible gambling on: January 10, 2024, 09:34:18 PM
Yeah,  I have wasted my balances a number of time before to this temptation,  and this even go as far as affecting my betting pattern,  aside from the fact that having big balance with withdrawal on a casino comes with risk of gambling away with the entire balance,  it has gone as far as to affect how much a stake on a bet per go,  many times I have not being following my principle of not betting high amount on a game,  but I noticed that,  each time I have high balance I am always carried away to do otherwise and gambling more than I should which has been one of the set backs that made me never to leave any balance on my account regardless of how much was my previous winning be it big or small amount.
I also feel that. although usually, I allocate a fixed balance each time I start betting. but when I get a big enough win, I usually leave a bigger balance than I usually play with. and that seemed to stimulate me to bet bigger with a sufficient balance. even though I rarely do that, the situation almost repeats itself every time I finish with my winnings.
My mistake was not learning from experience, but it felt like I was not in control of doing that. Is that what you feel too?
What drives us from doing that is thinking we can make more winnings if we gamble more. That certainly manipulates our minds and instead of following our plan, we are now following our emotions. This is a common mistake by most as we think it is just our winning money, nothing it hurts if I use them to gamble. And even if we feel regret for doing this it still happens again and again --that is how gambling could change our plan and give directives on our minds.
474  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is It Still Ok To Buy BTC At $43875 ? on: January 10, 2024, 11:53:09 AM
Edited Subject -

Not really know if i can buy or go for other alt coins
Before venturing into crypto --make a strong decision rather than confusion because this will lead you to where it goes. The results of our investments come from what we did and if we did it wrong and were full of doubts, I was certain that it never reached the finish line.

Take time to decide, of course, there are plenty of potential altcoins that are still cheap (now). I also have them (ETH and Sol), not that much money I put with them because my focus is on Bitcoin but it is your choice, and hit it as long as you are sure about it.
475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does it looks responsible as woman telling husband you gamble? on: January 10, 2024, 11:15:38 AM

Does this worth telling him or not please i need you collective ideas.
The worst thing that happens in a relationship is if someone a husband or wife keeps a secret. This is a wrong idea because if I were your partner, I would be totally angry.

Keeping secrets should not be done once we already have family especially when it talks about finances, and that much more about gambling.
To be considered a responsible wife, you must not gamble unless your husband approves it. In fact, we've heard that a couple separated because of gambling, and I was afraid this might happen to you if you don't tell.
476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your predictions for the state of Bitcoin in 2024? on: January 10, 2024, 02:49:02 AM
Since 2022, the value of Bitcoin has begun to fall. Following that, 2023 was a much worse year; in late 2003, a new version of Bitcoin was released. Furthermore, the market is gradually improving and stabilising. By 2024, we expect a slow recovery from our Bitcoin downturn. In the near future, it will also bring us good news. Things will get better with time. Do you think Bitcoin will be superior by 2024? Please share your thoughts.
This year seems to be another big year for the crypto industry as we are expecting ETF approval and the halving event will have impact on the market price.

However, I don't think it will be superior this year that is too early to assume but if we talk about a price increase that is likely possible. Perhaps, this would be expected as the demand increases as well. Bitcoin has a futuristic view and potential but as we assess on its development, it takes several years to see its market superiority. However, this will become impossible with everyone's support --use as a payment option, active trades, and trust.

477  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyway to be smart about this? on: January 09, 2024, 10:18:02 PM
If he still has access to that compromised wallet, he could send it but if not, he could do nothing about it and lose his entire money. Because I was not sure if the exchange would help in such a scenario as it was our fault. I could really imagine that even how careful we are, this would possibly happen to us. That is why I don't try staking nor do I hold funds on exchanges because we have a very small chance(to nothing) to retrieve our funds if the situation happens like this. It is really disappointing because hacking is still on massive growth and we never know, any time we are their victim.
478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 09, 2024, 09:44:52 PM
That is a big mistake, it never gets you closer to winning but losing. I can't imagine someone who is very lucky every day as I don't experience such a thing. Don't get fooled by such reasoning OP, he might be lucky but can't be sure of yourself if you are too lucky just like your friend as well.

Just think about this --the more time you gamble, the more time you spend which is a bad gambling habit for this will cause into overspending.
Your friend is in a state of addiction, avoid him as it influences your mind and become like him.
479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is GRIN still a thing? on: January 09, 2024, 12:24:11 PM
Grin had a lot of promise early on because of its privacy and scalability. Launching it before there was a proper GUI wallet was a mistake. Not having any addresses was confusing and one of the ways in which it could be transferred was by sending it to an IP address. Deanonymizing users via their IP address is completely contrary to what you would expect from a privacy coin. There was a lot of funding behind it. From the start, the supply became centralized because large investors owned most of the hashpower. This excluded average users from mining and made the fair launch aspect meaningless.

After all these early issues I stopped paying attention to it. There are other blockchains working on privacy, either directly onchain or through external protocols, so Grin has lost its early mover advantage and it'll be difficult for it to recover.
That project is a failure and the developer/s can't provide their promises. Many of these privacy projects are good through their words but the application seems too far from what we want to expect and what happens to Grin would simply mean that privacy coins gaining less attraction to the investors. These days, investors are not looking for privacy coins anymore and it was not their big concern, they are looking for projects that would give them profit. That is why privacy coins are losing their trend and dumping. It was uncertain to see them recovering, less chances as per see.
480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Use your winning responsibly on: January 09, 2024, 11:39:38 AM
Do you know why people still say trash about gambling, probably after winning they don't have any plan with their money and they just don't want to buy something valuable after winning so from year to year they can't brag with any property they achieved from their winning money that's why they keep saying trash about gambling, this act is very rare mostly in my area. Sometimes people should also see the good side of gambling and afterward let's not joke with the money rather let's use that money to buy something nice just like what the op did but greed will not allow some addict to do same.
Greed arises after winning the first time and thinking, I could win more if I gamble more. In the end, gambling is a trap for those who want more, a trap for people who are not using smart of their winnings, it goes back to the casino where it comes.

I've heard a story about our country that won the jackpot prize, it is a huge money but after a few months, all of it was gone including his assets and it is because of a wrong spending habit. And this will certainly happen to all the winners if mismanaged, it will turn to dust too quickly. Easy money, easy to lose as well.
