I have some bitcoins and found a secure way to keep them. What do I do with them now?
Please store it in a hardware wallet, then try to store your private key, this will keep your money safe forever. No one can steal it. Even 10 or 20 years, it is still yours. It seems like many people want to store bitcoin for the future, it can make a profit, but I prefer to use it to make more quick profits. to my knowledge hardware wallets are very similar to USB disks and because of that they are subjected to same flaws. flaws such as loss of data because of not being connected to a power source. in other words if you store your bitcoin on a hardware wallet and keep it 10 or 20 years without connecting that wallet to your USB port at least once a month you may lose all your money!

i can't see the first picture it probably was deleted. but to my knowledge cryptopia doesn't have a fiat market. so what you are seeing is probably USDT not USD so don't use the dollar sign ($) for its price. and be careful with it because it is an altcoin which should be worth $1 each but sometimes it drops hard.
also make sure to check the size of the buy orders not just their prices.

Looks like some "Bruce Wagner" tier whale is getting pretty pissed at his billions going up and down everytime Jihan Wu and co tweet, so they may go all in on UASF to force them to mine the BIP148 segwit-enabled chain or else risk total bankruptcy by staying on the legacy, slow ASICBOOSted chain.
Those that are thinking about dumping BIP148 coins for legacy coins... twink twice. The risk of reorg is there forever.
this sounds more like false information to me than a rumor! and if you think a dumb tweet alone can cause any changes without the whale "you" are describing wanting and initiating it then you know nothing about how bitcoin market works

use smartbit to view these transcations, they show the OP_Return stuff, blockchain.info doesn't! https://www.smartbit.com.au/tx/8745dfc0d189672abbce8ee09f3a314742b0023e4fdde3737ebc1c87e9eb62ffthis is the hash: 293d910d8d0ada5cf7647287047fafb6e8496b0e06660395d1ff5ebcec8f1208fffffffffffffff f i am also not exactly sure how the document hash is obtained the following is my assumption and may be wrong: it probably is obtained by doing some hash function such as SHA256 or maybe MD5 on some data, it can be an string, JSON, PDF,... containing all the information belonging to the property trade that they want to save. simple example: SHA256("There's trouble abrewing!") = 30642FC17F957B390426CD016E10A194C903833E8105FEB9DFD4CFC894E163EC then you put that hex in the OP_Return part and send the transaction. that hash only belongs to that string and is unique. and having the private key of a bitcoin address like the one bitfury has, you will be the only one capable of saving that hash hex on the blockchain with that key. then if you want to know what that hash is you have to find it in the property office database since hashes are irreversible and see what does it belong to. you show me 30642FC17F957B390426CD016E10A194C903833E8105FEB9DFD4CFC894E163EC then i tell you the string was "There's trouble abrewing!", you check and it is ok. if i lie and say "There's no trouble abrewing!" the hash doesn't check out so it can also be fraud proof. the news article https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurashin/2016/04/21/republic-of-georgia-to-pilot-land-titling-on-blockchain-with-economist-hernando-de-soto-bitfury/#44da340744da

- Actually when you buy an altcoin, you definitely have to know about it and have to rely on the information to predict its future, you can not buy based on emotion or listen to others, this is the wrong thing in trading. Decided to sell will happen when it reaches the price you predict, that means that before you buy, you have determined when its price is how much you will sell it. For example buy $ 20, determined to sell at $ 30, if it's up $ 25, you will not sell because you know it can be up to 30 dollars
I agree with you, I did some research, but I believe with altcoins it's quick a bit of luck and watching which are having a slow few days. I had another post stating I've had trouble finding good legit information about the coins lately which causes a problem when it comes to making good decisions. your problem is mostly because there aren't any legit information about any coins out there mostly there are just hyped up news. and sometimes they don't even make sense. for example an altcoin releases a new version of their wallet software and then price goes up (pump and dumps)!

are you by any chance talking about "saving data on the blockchain"? because if you are talking literary about ownership of a land, then there is this thing called OP_Return which allows you to put arbitrary data in your transaction and then save it on the blockchain and that data can be anything that fits in there. BitFury (a mining pool) is currently doing this. they save document hashes belonging to land ownership[1] (or something like that) on the blockchain. you can see all their transactions in this address: 3QQB6AWxaga6wTs6Xwq8FYppgrGinGu15f [1] edit: the word i was looking for was "property rights registration"

there are at least 50 other news like this all saying "a country, or a bank or a financial group is starting their own blockchain based on bitcoin technology" and they all mean 1 thing: they are making a centralized altcoin.
it is great since the technology is being used and the world is getting better, but it has nothing to do with bitcoin!
Russia however is getting softer about bitcoin ever since Japan did what they did.

only the site admin (theymos) or probably the Global Moderators like hilariousandco can have access to the personal messages. but i don't think they will if it is not an important case since it is going to take time to go and find it and bring it back and give it to you... also ask in Meta board not here.

nice analysis but i am sorry to say this but : meh.
when you get deeper in what has been happening in each of these times and try to compare it with things that are happening now, then this theory seems more like a coincidence rather than something to rely on for future speculation. but that is just my opinion.

what the file extension names (eg. .doc, .rar, ...) do is that they tell your OS which program to open when you double click them. they don't change anything about the file.
and to answer your question, no if you open a RAR file named .doc with office, it won't open or damage it. office will give you an error that the file is damaged or the type is not right or something similar.

what do you mean by "i get it in 4 days" are you talking about the bitcoin confirmation time? in which case pay a higher fee and get it confirmed in less than 10 minutes! a 330 satoshi/byte is good.
1. yes
2. yes, if you sell to market's top order (bid) then it will be filled right away and the amount will be credited to your balance immediately. but bittrex does NOT have USD market. that is USDT also known as Tether which is an altcoin. be careful with it.
3. technically yes. but only if it goes down and not continue going up. and the same is true when buying back, if it goes up not continue going down. it all comes down to the speculation you can make. if you can speculate closed to reality then you make more profit and if you are far off you may lose money.
just start small, don't go crazy and if you lost money and make mistakes don't lose your confidence. learn from your mistakes and try not to repeat them again.

these days i keep seeing a lot of topics and comments in this board talking about arbitrage trading. so i am curious to know how many of you have ever tried it for real, as in trading and making profit not just on paper.
and also how much profit did you make?

Between this Aug 1 deadline on scaling and ether going crazy I am a bit concerned. Media still going strong on bitcoin but wondering if the future is still bright for bitcoin.
according to price, also the way the whole world is moving forward with bitcoin, Japan still giving us a new good news every week, and so much new money coming in, ... i am going to say No, nobody is really freaking out! and there is nothing to freak out at this point either. the Aug 1 BIP get more support first then start thinking if it is "freak-worthy" or not!

this is the "land of opportunity" for you while other countries are moving forward with bitcoin regulations, adopting it as a legal way of payment, their Forex brokers adding it to their platforms, their merchants and businesses accepting bitcoin, ... US is still struggling with things like this, no regulation, taxes, and SEC is still denying bitcoin! and things like this will just make traders move on to OTC trading and kill the exchanges.

Nothing will go wrong my friends. Please experiment with trading it definitely worthwhile . It very hurting to see people search desperately to earn online while stuff like Steemit, Bitcointalk & Altcoin Trading exist. Unfortunately Most of the online job seekers end up investing in scam. Try researching deep into trading before investing your hard earned money you will be fine.
it is because trading is not for everyone. it is not at all an easy thing to do. if they could make money for a year then they are a successful trader not if they could make money in a couple of trades. that is why people stay away from trading because they are the second thing, they lose money in long term. so they go for a more guaranteed method, a job. and the altcoin market is never kind to the newbies.

i really love Japan, not only for the mass adoption of bitcoin, that is too obvious. but i love it because they are moving forward with their adoption so smoothly and so silently without any drama!
so far in any other place we keep seeing a lot of drama, a lot of government meddling and roadblocks!
this is going to be a new full bitcoin exchange platform with zero fees by the way.

get a job! anything that works with your scheduled would do. it can be tutoring or something simple as that. you get some extra money and can do with it whatever you want.
but if you are investing in altcoins as it seems to me you are, then remember that these things can go down as hard as they go up, even harder because the panic sell is usually pretty intense. so don't go crazy on your investment. and don't get caught up into the hype.

as much as i believe in bitcoin's future and thing it will become big but i seriously doubt that it can replace any fiat currencies! the first reason is that the government won't allow it! the second reason is that people won't want it! they will always prefer the centralized good old money they can easily understand. and that way of thinking won't change for many years to come.
as for your investment question, don't invest all your money! what you have already is good. increase it only if you can afford it.

Chinese will regain confidence in bitcoin so a lot of people would deposit knowing they can withdraw again later, that will pump the price.
Chinese never lost their confidence in bitcoin, and they never lost their confidence in trading it either! they only lost their access to easy way of trading bitcoin on an exchange in their own country working easily with their fiat. you can confirmed this if you check the volume of other exchanges they have migrated to as soon as their own exchanges were suspended by PBOC.
