In the end when i look at the thread you made just about your selfcontrol to do gambling.

I think everyone is aware of this because after all, with the situation that occurs in gambling, of course we all understand what we have to do when we want to try to stop, namely by means of good self-control but the problem is that talking about selfcontrol is very easy its just that how it works is still very difficult to do.

Selfcontrol is very important but there are still a lot of people who cant do it even though they already know what they have to do because in the end things like this can't just be about words but must come from perseverance and I still believe that this can only be done gradually.
Self-control isn't impossible if we are doing it at the start but we let the addiction happen to us making this thing hardly stop. That is why it was not unusual for many gamblers to keep on betting despite their losses because they are now on the chase as they think that they couldn't recover back their money if they stopped and so the betting continued.

As we are in gambling or even in another field, we must know how to control ourselves. We know how to enter, then we also know how to exit otherwise we are making ourselves a prison of our doings.

Self control will definitely be easier for some over others
But you are right, its a skill that can be trained and mastered
Revenge gambling, trying to make the money back the same way as you lost it, will take you anywhere, its not a good idea
Being aware of your emotions and actions is a must

483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Tax Efficient With Your Gambling Habbits? on: December 27, 2023, 03:40:17 PM
I don't do this at all, and beside, I don't think we have an effective tax system here in my country, and as such, there is no one to come after you, if you report your gambling winnings or losses to the tax authorities; It's just between you and yourself.

Und even if our tax system is effective, it won't get to the gambling section, as the casinos are already paying heavily to the government to maintain their licence and their either annually or monthly tax payable, so gamblers will have little to worry about in regard to that.

But who will even want to give a penny back to their government in the form of tax for gambling winnings when they literally pay tax on all their expenses? At least gambling profits could be an exception.

I don't think anyone "enjoys" paying taxes, but people have different opinions and preferences regarding its importance and how fair it is to pay.

it's a common situation to see the government with not enough people to fiscalize tax payers and check what is being paid and what isn't.
many variables on this.

Who would love to pay taxes? If it weren't a crime not to pay taxes, then I doubt people would be diligent in filing their income tax returns. Every country has its own way of tax implementation; developed countries probably have more strict monitoring on tax compliance, so they are able to collect based on their expectations. In less developed and corrupt countries, the government may be lax in its implementation, resulting in a lower collection rate. However, the penalties, whether monetary or criminal, might still be the same if one is convicted. So, it's up to us, the people, to decide if we are willing to risk not paying our taxes.

the interesting thing that new technologies bring to the table is that now it's easier for individuals to protect themselves from the government if they want
but... one thing is for sure
there is no way to escape the consequence of our decisions.

I consider that it is the last straw of all that a government Demands that a person have to pay taxes for using a crypto casino, I don't say anything to those who use casinos that are with fiat money, and well they can consider it as something of a luxury , but the casinos that are fiat, are casinos controlled and regulated by governments and specialized entities , because fiat money is moved, whether dollar, euro or local currency of each country, that is considered to be well ncentralized, although it is I see it as a Problem because when there is a lot of money it is an equal problem to withdraw that money or something like that, because the majority of bankers and governments do not like people having so much money , it is in their best interest that they follow the model of corruption and issues that have to do with absolute control on their part, in this sense things can be affected by those who can bet the most According to what they spend , but in crypto I don't see it Well.

In fact, I have seen many people in the forum who do not give importance to this, they like to pay taxes because they use crypto , they like to pay taxes because they use crypto casino, I see that as very bad, because then we are in a crypto casino? I think that people who play with crypto and who own crypto Should not pay a cent to a government, perhaps the government bets some benefit on us people? At least I consider my country to be the most corrupt in the world, which is why I have always seen that when things are tried to be done with a better vision, people are already accepting all kinds of impositions like wild, the KYC , paying taxes , I will never agree with this, because that is what crypto technology is all about, not to give a single cent to a government or a person who are actually third parties , those who do it are really because for me it is not They have judgment.

what is your contry? if you don't mind sharing.

totally hear your point, it's impressive how assymetrical the government demands are.
though I think this reaches people differently, some simply don't care, others are really afraid of what the government can do to them (putting them in jail, etc...) so forth and so on...

<...>
(ninguem é obrigado a aceitar pesos argentinos)
<...>

Quote from: GPTézio

oh, yes, I totally understand it's better not to gamble if you're under the effect of alcohol
that's why I though it'd be something the casinos would be doing, it's on their business model to make you spend
but you're right, maybe they're not as evil as I though hahaha
The effect of alcohol can be very big on consciousness and emotions because alcohol itself has the function of eliminating consciousness and also making the heart pump faster, which can make person do many things without realizing it just to get what they want.
Moreover, gambling while under the influence of alcohol is just like someone who is willing to lose money because they are careless in their actions, are not aware of using excess money, and are not aware that they are too brave to take risks.
This allows gamblers who are under the influence of alcohol to experience condition where their performance in activities is only controlled by sudden increase in emotions.

However, casinos provide alcoholic drinks, both for free and branded alcoholic drinks, which are sold at high prices because from these sales can also get number of additional profits.
But talking about gambler who is affected by alcohol reminds me of the case of young man who was addicted to online gambling and sold his car directly just to be able to get money and be able to make deposit to gamble.
He gambled while having an alcoholic party with his friends.

exactly, alcohol puts a burden on one of the most important skills while gambling: your decisions.
if you're in a poor moment to make decisions you're definitely be a worse gambler
the same if you're under heavy stress or going through heavy emotional periods like grief or breakups.

sorry but it's still not clear for me
is it biting other player? haha
is it the name of an specific way of playing in the soccer field?
what is it about?

can you say a bit more about this?
They meant that he literally bit other players like a crazy fool and embarassed himself forever by making it a huge meme. He bit some on their shoulders and some others on their hands like a maniac.

He is an outstanding player for sure, but he has some clear psychological issues which anyone watching football over the years are aware of.

Being curious about the biting incident I searched how that things happened and found out that there are two incidents of biting records under Luis Suaréz.  One was during the fight against PSV Eindhoven (20 November 2010)when he bit Otman Bakkal on the shoulder which resulted in the suspension of Luis Suaréz for two matches and an undisclosed fine[1].  Another incident is against Chealse's  Branislav Ivanović[1] in 21 April 2013.

Well, there are no more incidents of biting that happen after those two incidents. Browsing the guy's achievements, Luis Suaréz is indeed a great athlete with colorful records behind him. It is a great deal to have him as the new ambassador of Duelbits.

[1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luis_Su%C3%A1rez

haha surprised about it
wouldn't expect biting to be literal since for sure the player would get a card or some kind of suspensions

crazy world we live in

interesting to see that he's still on the game and is a good player

Why because they can't control themselves, even when they are not an addicted gambler?
What do we have to say about this?

because people believe it is a question of luck and not of mathematics/study/statistics/probability/study etc etc...

as soon as you realize these aspects, and play in this way, you realize that you don't have to rely on anything related to "chance" but you have to be "scientific" in your approach.

how many gamblers play on that way? Smiley

In my opinion this is a rational way to look at a question that is emotional
Gamblers don’t keep gambling only for the hope of winning but also for the small dopamine hits and neurotransmitters imbalances

I’d love to see some cross research about other areas of the life of compulsive gamblers…
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I learnt from a crackhead about gambling on: December 26, 2023, 12:08:54 PM

Yes, and whether you believe it or not, I have seen people on the internet, citizens of the United States of America who believe that in order to fully defeat the cartels and decrease their economical power a new set of drugs are supposed to be legalized and normalized in that country. I have read them to say cocaine should be legal in the United States in the same manner marihuana has been legalized. Even though I can agree the war on drugs has mostly been a failure, I don't believe allowing those kind of substances to circulate for recreational purposes is the solution, even if the government guaranteed the purity of them and also applied taxation on it's purchase.
We could also argue that even if Cocaine gets legalized on the USA, criminals will just move onto other more addictive substances to continue to fill their accounts.

If people can already develop very serious problems from their bad gambling behaviors, I don't even want to imagine what would happen if drugs like crack and cocaine become more widespread and easy to access to the general public. Because the legalization would imply an increase of offer and hence and decrease of price in a very short period of time.
  Sad

It's a big question what would happen if all drugs were legalized, but from what I know prohibition is not the answer. Same with gambling. If it was illegal in all countries it wouldn't mean people would stop gambling. Hardly. Rather they would find ways to gamble on the dark web, or in some shady places situated in the dark alleys. I'd even say you make something more attractive to some people when you ban it.

It’s shortsighted to say that legalizing would increase supply and then reduce price and that’s it
In reality it happened before that places legalized it and ended up seeing less use
But it’s not only about that but about reducing the war on drugs which is pure stupidity on a game that will never finish and also have better quality controls which will make drug use safer for those who want to use it
491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do casino owners benefit from creating multiple casinos? on: December 26, 2023, 11:42:13 AM
I have noticed that there are multiple casinos in the crypto space owned by the same person or company. I am curious about the reasons behind creating additional casinos when there is already a running and profitable one.

How does this practice contribute to their business? It seems illogical as it might increase operating expenses without an obvious benefit.

Gamblers, any thoughts on this?

In my view, they can build one more company/brand with a little more expense which they can be sold for a big amount to someone else that is how the shark investors think. But there is no reason if they are not really have any idea to sell the business in future or have different games from one another.

Building to sell is indeed an option. Though it will vary from owner to owner. Each one will have different intentions
Sometimes building a competitor will make the whole market better for all

it's interesting how sometimes the same thing (money) can be a blessing and a curse
for some people money can solve problems, they can use it to build things that will help not only them but the whole world
for others money can be a curse and they won't be able to update their mindset on deserving it and will end up losing or spending it all...
That’s just the way of life that we found our self, almost everything that we see that have an advantage also have a disadvantage the only thing their now is how the person who have access to that makes use of it, many people who are wealthy all they think is how to spend the money and make history why some people who are not privileged enough to have that money are working so hard every day to try and achieve just a little of what the rich are using to gamble every single day without even feeling it that a penny left their wealth.

exactly
yin and yang
things have many sides, usually even more than two
if somebody is gambling every single day they should probably take a break and find ways to stop once in a while and rest, do other things

it's really important to pay attention to the things we do daily.

Eu sempre fico pensando ''no meu julgamento'' vs ''a realidade''.

game over

Quote from: chatGPTézio

Raramente vem email legit

do you think some people can get to gambling too because they have too much disposable income and don't think they deserve all the money they got?
could be a thing too imo.

having a support network definitely helps a lot.

This could also be it, there are people who are very wealthy like they made their money out of no where, either they made it illegally or base on inheritance some of them just see their self that they don’t suffer for the money and as such they should spend more on gambling to see if they can either win more money from trying out their luck or if they can just make the casino more richer.

Some people end up spending more money and getting more addicted to gambling as a result of them being busy trying to prove to others that they can be able to make it out from no where I mean those already made kids who did not suffer for anything they try to make use of the money in their possession to gamble and see if they can make some large winning and make sure they win something out for them self which they end up not even winning a penny instead they still wasteful gamble with the little in their possession.

it's interesting how sometimes the same thing (money) can be a blessing and a curse

I'm not really a fan of superstition so I don't agree that it helps you in a karma way to tip the people near you when you hit a win, all slots are programmed to do the same thing and the probability that they have in there are all the same, unless the machine Gods and machine spirit is real, then those stuff can't be true about slots and if they're true then you're still fucked because you're the unlucky one.
I remember that, 15 years ago, when I played Second Life (beautiful memories) there were slot machines in some lands I frequently visited, and that I gave them a try. I think that they were badly programmed, because the more I played, the more I won, which is not sustainable for the service provider.

It is true that, as Lindens (the in-game currency) were difficult to buy at that time, I had just a few bucks, so I didn't make a great profit. Chances are that for higher amounts the outcome would've been different, or they were simply bad programmed. But it was a long time ago and I don't think modern slots online have that kind of flaws.
Wow, Second Life is that old? I just see their ads recently and didn't know that they're that old. Haven't played it long enough to explore it, just do some chats with other players and some trolling and that's about what I did there and finally just dropped playing it. That slot machine wins is definitely a programming bug, it's most likely as you've suspected.
