481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 11, 2023, 12:14:18 PM
Something is going wrong with them and I wonder if they can solve an important part of their problems until the group matches start. If they don't then this group might turn out to be really interesting.  Smiley
It needs time for manchester utd to solve its problems. It will not be easy task for them to leave from so many allegations toward its players and the club.
I would like to see galatasaray to be qualified for play off stage rather than manchester united. Galatasaray potentially beat manchester united to finish at the second spot.

You can imagine if ten hag will put meguire and evans in the game.

If we see Maguire in the starting eleven of Manchester United then Galatasaray's getting a positive result against them would be more likely.  Grin

I don't expect Manchester United to rotate their starting eleven in the first match they play against each other though. But the next time they are facing each other is on match week 5. Maybe then we can see Manchester United making a rotation. I'm just waiting for especially both matches between these teams as these ones will be the decider about the second position.  Smiley

Galatasaray need to improve their defending until the tournament starts by the way. Otherwise I won't be hopeful about them much.
Manchester United vs Galatasaray will be held at next month which mean 3 weeks remaining and probably before the match against Galatasaray some of their players will be recover but indeed this month Manchester United will facing tight schedules because after against Brighton on Premier league they have to facing Bayern Munich on champion league and at least Manchester United will play total 5 matches this September and this is not good for them because Ten Hag have not much options to rotate Manchester United squad

However liked it or not if some of their defender such as Raphael Varane or Lisandro Martinez are still got injured i think most likely Ten Hag will played Maguire into starting eleven for upcoming match however recently Manchester United new player Sofyan Amrabat also got injured and he cannot play with Morroco national team but still no update yet regarding his condition
Galatasaray is not a difficult opponent for Manchester United. I think they may not risk injured players in this game, but against Bayern they should be as prepared as possible for a serious match. Galatasaray and Copenhagen are the outsiders in this group and probably Bayern and Manchester United will take the first two places.
482  Economy / Speculation / Re: what a surprise dip on: September 11, 2023, 09:51:30 AM
Sometimes you may need money and then you may need to sell Bitcoin. Except in such a case, it is a wrong decision to sell if the price of bitcoin is below the price you bought. We must learn to wait in this market and to trade when the time comes.

When you panic and sell when the market is falling, you want the price to drop more. Sometimes it can be like this, but after every drop in Bitcoin, the price increases. At the very least, selling by paying attention to support and resistance can reduce some of your losses.
So we must distinguish between money for personal needs and money for investment or trading needs. Not distinguishing between the two will affect when you start holding, money that should be used for long-term investment will be forced to cut losses to meet personal needs.
Buying and selling based on support and resistance is highly recommended and also pay attention to where your target is to start selling and buying using the DCA strategy,
There is another good advice to avoid losing money. You should always invest only the amount that you do not need in an emergency, i.e. your spare money that you are prepared to forget about for a long time. If you invest money that you need, but you think you will get a quick profit, then this idea will fail.
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Monero so unpopular? on: September 10, 2023, 02:03:34 PM
Privacy is a necessary feature in my opinion, but why hasn't Monero become a main coin?

Because Monero is not Bitcoin?  Being the first decentralized cryptocurrency, although not a privacy coin, Bitcoin with the help of mixers can still keep the users secret Grin.  Aside from that Bitcoin had been created and established way ahead of Monero and the fact that the government frowns upon any privacy coins makes it worse for Monero.

I believe Monero can be a main coin in the dark web but in mass adoption, it has no chance against Bitcoin.
Aside from that, Monero is no good at all compared to Bitcoin which is why we don't have to compare them both. In fact, Bitcoin was popular already before the creation of Monero and I don't think it was reasonable to consider this project as the main coin.
Well, privacy is not really important to most of us. As we are here in investment, what matters the most is the profit potential of the project which Bitcoin already has more than any other coins in the market. It looks like OP had missed seeing it.
A long time ago, Satoshi wrote on this forum that he wanted to implement privacy in Bitcoin, but at that time he could not do it, so the bitcoin blockchain is completely transparent and anyone can see the history of your transactions. Whether it is good or bad, everyone decides for himself. But if bitcoin privacy was on the mind of its creator, then privacy probably has an important role to play. Of course you can't compare Monero and Bitcoin, but still XMR is a good project, better than many others.
484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Reddit coins? on: September 10, 2023, 11:30:26 AM
With social media such as Reddit and Twitter gradually introducing their userbase to crypto the next hype trend could be SocialFi coins, do you suggest investing on those coins or too risky?

I think it's very risky. Firstly, if such a trend appears, there will be a lot of scams along with it. Secondly, it is not very clear what utility such coins will provide. I remember that a long time ago such projects have already been, but they were not very popular. I think that if some popular social network makes its own coin, it may not be needed either.
485  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should we rely on prediction? on: September 10, 2023, 09:49:30 AM
That's precisely why it's termed 'prediction'—there's no assurance that the anticipated price will materialize. Due to its inherent volatility, the market is undeniably unpredictable. Relying solely on experts' predictions could prove detrimental to your future in cryptocurrencies investing. From my observations, many predictions made by experts turn out to be inaccurate. This is a major reason why numerous individuals experience losses in their investments, often due to blind adherence.
That's the point, those who invest do believe so much on those experts predictions and they follow it in making their own decisions.
It works for them but I believe that they have lost 85% of their investment because rely on predictions. I don't believe that what's happening to bitcoin price (the dip) was predicted before it happened, I'm not saying that experts don't get it right at times but we shouldn't pour our eggs in one basket.
I would say that buying long term shouldn't really matter on prediction and that is what people should do. If you are buying because of an expert then you are going to end up not being happy about the outcome and that is a tough one. I understand that some people may end up with a result that is not going to be good at all, and some people may prefer to have some sort of situation where it is not going to be profitable, but that doesn't mean that they are going to end up with a terrible result.

I think relying on the experts is the worst case, just buy it whenever you feel like it is the right time to buy, and if you are wrong and it goes down then you could hold it a little longer and sell it later on when it goes back up.
If a person listens to other people's advice when investing, then of course such purchases will not do any good. Usually, so-called experts talk about some projects that can bring profit in the future only because of their own profit. More often it turns out that the person who listened to such advice ends up losing money.
486  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is bitcoin moving now? on: September 09, 2023, 12:00:12 PM
I haven't heard about the raise of interest rate this September, but if they did I would agree that it will have a negative effect again on the price.
However, if you look at todays price, it seems that we have overcome $25,000 as we move to $26,300, which is a good sign this month.

I don't remember exactly September or October and the Fed didn't confirm it would raise interest rates, but they said they could continue to raise interest rates because the inflation situation is not really under control. Some recent news also shows that the Fed will not hesitate to continue raising interest rates 1 or 2 times before stopping raising interest rates. If that happens, it will really put pressure on the market and it will be even more difficult for us to recover before the end of the year.

The price has been trading above $26k but I don't consider this a good sign as without any positive news to sustain then a drop will happen at any moment. We need more positive news or bigger movements to be considered positive for bitcoin.

After a quick search on Google that "After two relatively tame Consumer Price Index inflation reports and some evidence that the employment situation may be softening, the Federal Reserve is not expected to raise rates at its September meeting. However, there is still a chance that the Fed raises rates again in 2023" - https://www.forbes.com/sites/simonmoore/2023/08/15/what-to-look-for-from-the-feds-final-meetings-of-2023/

There is still a chance Fed raises in 2023 but we don't know it yet but there is a meeting this month, and the price currently I'm writing is $25.8K so possibly sideaway until there is good news coming.
It seems to me that raising rates is a psychological moment in cryptocurrency. That is, it affects the price indirectly. Bitcoin has a deflationary model, but somehow the real economy has a short-term effect on the price, just like the stock market. But in the long term, the price will still rise because the total supply of bitcoins is limited. What is happening now is just volatility.
487  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will you sell...next bull run? on: September 09, 2023, 11:05:35 AM
20k in 2017 equating to a potential 200k in the next few years I suppose could make sense but I'd rather guess BTC slows down in its trajectory or curve on the graph.  The figures achieved for an ATH will still be impressive but I wouldnt draw a straight line more of a cannon ball curve with less height gained over time.   We cannot easily estimate due to the Dollar itself altering greatly in the ten years after 2017 but suffice to say I do not believe in any hard dollar scenario.   Interest costs at elevated levels will consume the entire fiscal budget, its very likely repayment occurs via inflation and value losses to the population mostly common working family.

But we never thought that $20k in 2017 is possible, and that's why we look at $100k in 2021, but it didn't happen. So I don't think it might slow down in the future, on the contrary it could really move to even $1 million in the future.

Maybe a couple of halvings, or when all bitcoin has been mined, meaning 99% of it, the price could really go up in the next year or so. But currently we might be look at 6 digits in 2024-2025.

Good point, we never knew until it happened, so better to keep an eye on what the market will bring us in the next couple of years or maybe
in a nearest halving day.

We only need to keep our research and continue to assess the situation making sure you have something that concretely allow you to keep holding.

Buy and then keep your asset safe, sooner or later you'll enjoy the benefits of trusting the asset.
Every time bitcoin starts to rise, people wonder if it's too late to buy. The whole history of bitcoin has been like this, starting when it was worth $1-10-100-1000. People didn't believe that such a price was possible every time, but when it did, for some reason they thought it was too late. Next year there will be a halving and history may repeat itself again when the price rises again.
488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: September 09, 2023, 09:38:12 AM
Today we will see an interesting match Ukraine vs England, we don't need to guess which one will win, but we need to guess how many goals will be scored by England? Cheesy

Although Mudryk is able to join a team in Premier League which is the most tough league, but Ukraine's manager not let him to play, he pick players from Dynamo Kyiv Tongue

England looks really solid in their strikers and midfielders, it's really crazy to see Kane get supported with Saka, Rashford, Rice, Bellingham, and Henderson.
Today will be a very tough day for Ukraine. Although maybe England will not score many goals, because Ukraine is weaker, but the last match in England was not very bad. Maybe today at home they will play better than in their last meeting. But I don't think Ukraine will not lose.
489  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much ,as you think ,is 1 bitcoin in 2025? on: September 09, 2023, 07:25:51 AM
If you have been dca’ing since last Ath I think most people would be happy with a 4-5x which would put it around 100-125k$. I’m hoping for way more and am optimistic, wouldn’t it be amazing for it to breach 250+k$. Good luck all on your investments wherever we land Smiley
sounds really good price for even those that accumulated too late, but honestly i kept on wondering whether that price mark could truly be achieved after all if we see from the previous bullrun, how bitcoin can achieve as far as $100k which is quite massive honestly was solely for the reason of the participation of those institutional investors in which we know bringing about billions of investment into the market.
thats also why bitcoin market capitalization was growing so massively back then, but i wonder if there will be second wave of such trend now that elon's company are dumping their assets to the market.
but they could be making buy back in the future though, i guess it depends on just how well the market turning out to be.

but if btc truly surpass $100k then that will be massive gain for most of us honestly.
2025 will be a few years away. If even Elon is selling bitcoins, that says nothing. There will be new rises and falls in a few years when there will be opportunities to buy more. There will be a halving next year that will definitely affect the price. If the price was 70k last cycle, 100k next cycle looks realistic.
490  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could Bitcoin potentially serve as a safe haven in the upcoming economic crisis on: September 08, 2023, 09:15:14 PM
I have convinced myself that bitcoin is the best investment asset or store of value compared to gold currently and in the long term. Bitcoin is performing well for an asset - I don't doubt it because bitcoin is being supported by the community as adoption increases. I don't know how skeptical you are about bitcoin's long-term potential - but try not to ignore the opportunity even if you can only afford to invest 10% of your overall budget in it.

If you have doubts about Bitcoin - then it's a good idea to diversify. This means that you can buy bitcoins for a certain budget amount and you can also have gold as another asset. Both of these investment assets are profitable - but you still have to consider the risks.
Of course, it may happen that bitcoin will become the world currency. But so far, the dollar has taken this place and it will probably continue to do so in the near future. If the crisis hits the dollar, some other country will want to replace the dollar. For example, China, which is not in crisis now and has great potential. Governments don't allow things into the economy that they can't control. Bitcoin is such a thing.
Well if you are actually following up the trend then you will notice that the dollar has already been having issues seriously and many countries are starting to replace the dollar as it's major currency for trade and so many stuff and as for the case of bitcoin I guess only time will tell as am very sure that bitcoin one day will eventually become the world reserve currency although we all know it's gonna a life time for that to happen but we just can't stop waiting it happens quick
I don't know which countries started to abandon the dollar. Maybe some Asian or African countries. But the rest of the world still uses the dollar to trade any goods. Especially now there are a lot of stablecoins, which are also used by many people in different countries. I don't think bitcoin can become a reserve currency, because it is not very convenient. Most likely bitcoin can become something like gold.

492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Not all new Projects are bad, So take the Risk on: September 08, 2023, 09:08:18 AM
Maybe in another project, yes, there may be potential in the future. But even so, it is still necessary to conduct your own research here, or else the chances are high that the capital you will use here will be wasted. At this time, it is very difficult to trust someone to invest in a new project, to be honest.

Why would I invest in new projects that don't have an exchange yet if there are cryptocurrencies that have been on the exchange for a few years and all I have to do is buy where they're listed to be traded immediately? I also think it's more secure, at least if we buy altcoins that are top-listed in the market.
Of the top altcoins, probably only ethereum can be sure, because it's backed very strongly. The rest of the altcoins could disappear from this list at any moment. Historically, all the altcoins that used to be in the top are now very low. Therefore, just new projects can replace their place. A new project, if it is not a scam, has potential compared to the old project.
493  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: September 08, 2023, 07:57:11 AM

Yes, it's true that if someone gambles with the aim of earning, he tends to get addicted because he will continue to gamble and risk his money so he can get more money than before. Indeed, this sounds very stupid and strange, if it is not controlled properly then it is very likely that he will lose and far from winning, because he is greedy and really hopes for luck.
And it is true that a person who hides his gambling will reduce his interaction with his environment and cover it up as much as possible, because if he loses then people will most likely ridicule him, and if he wins it is likely that the result will be bad. the results of the victory will be used (utilized) by the people around him.
I think that people will not laugh at another person who lost money in casino or betting. He will hide this addiction because people always have a negative attitude towards those who are addicted to gambling. It is only because of society's judgement of gambling that people hide it.
However, what I see around me is that people who are caught losing at the casino tend to laugh and don't care about their feelings and this is what makes gambling addicts hide their gambling. What you say is true, there are some people who think that gambling is a negative behavior, but if we gamble in a good and correct way then we will actually get a profit.
Maybe we have different views on gambling. But it seems to me that for society it doesn't matter if you are a good gambler or if you have an addiction and lose all the time, you will still cause bad emotions because of gambling. Society condemns such activities, so it is best not to tell anyone about it.
494  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: September 07, 2023, 03:36:37 PM
It is true that gambling just to entertain themselves and have fun will be fun, but in fact what is done to gambling addicts who hope for luck to be able to change their fate, sounds very ridiculous and makes no sense, but the reality is a fact.
And it's true, if a gambler can't control his finances, he will most likely soon lose all his money and from that incident people will think that he is a gambler. Because before he looked cheerful and had lots of money, after he lost all his possessions he looked worried and miserable.
If they treat gambling as entertainment, they can enjoy it and will not try to chase something difficult to obtain. But if they want to change their fate through gambling, they must realize they do not have a great chance of winning a lot of money. They could only have a chance of losing and could even lose their entire bankroll if they didn't stop it soon. A gambler can only play gambling as usual without thinking about his victory. Maybe later or the day after, his win will come, so he must be patient and keep playing calmly so that his emotions don't get provoked and he doesn't use much money. People who hide their gambling activities have the opportunity to become addicted to gambling because they will rarely interact with other people and tend to close themselves off from conversations with other people. And they can lose a lot of money if they cannot control their gambling.
Yes, it's true that if someone gambles with the aim of earning, he tends to get addicted because he will continue to gamble and risk his money so he can get more money than before. 495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Visa Takes on Crypto with Solana and USDC on: September 07, 2023, 01:04:56 PM
Visa is making big moves in the crypto world. They're teaming up with Solana to expand their stablecoin settlements. Basically, they're using USDC for transactions. This move helps Visa speed up global payments, and it's all part of their ongoing commitment to the evolving crypto scene. Visa's foray into stablecoin settlements on Solana signifies a major milestone in crypto adoption by traditional financial giants. I just hope that Solana can finally get a hold of their scalability and security issues!

Source: https://coinmarketcap.com/alexandria/article/visa-expands-usdc-stablecoin-settlements-using-solana
I think that's an exaggerated rumour. If everything were so simple, stablecoins would have been used in banks long ago. But so far there are no laws on crypto regulation and I don't think it's possible to realise payments via Solana for Visa. This news looks more like something like a new partnership between Ripple and some bank. I mean, it's just hype.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins profits or bank profits, which best? on: September 07, 2023, 12:27:56 PM
Bank investors have more certainty because there capital is completely safe but they give 8-10% annual profits to the investors of per year. But it is comparatively less in terms of profits.

On the other hand you will get constant profits from crypto as if you are experienced in trading then daily profits is possible. Otherwise you can get profits by investing. However crypto investment puts your capital at greater risk (main point).

         -   Banks or cryptocurrencies have the same risk. In the bank, you trust the money you have and make them hide the amount of money you put in. The only offer they give you is that they will give you a small interest every year. In exchange for the documents, they will ask you The only risk when the bank you put money in suddenly closes or goes bankrupt is that you usually can't get it back, you don't have a fight because it has declared bankruptcy.

In cryptocurrency, there is also risk, and the percentage of volatility is also high, but the chances of earning your capital are high, which can also cause you to lose or dissolve your investment capital if the altcoins you choose are wrong. But it's voluntary if you want to provide documents depending on the exchange you're going to enter, and there are also some that don't require KYC. So for me, I would choose cryptocurrency.
The bank and cryptocurrencies do not have the same risk. The probability that your funds will disappear with the bank is much less than the probability that you invest in a crypto scam. Just as the profit in the bank will be minimal compared to if you get lucky in crypto.
497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: September 06, 2023, 02:30:58 PM
Netherlands will host Greece in group B. I should mention that this is a must win match for Netherlands otherwise they will have a very difficult task.
Netherlands has 3 points at the end of 2 matches and if they lose points in this match, they may lose their chances of being 2nd.I expect them to win this match for sure.
France, on the other hand, will fight against the Republic of Ireland. France has managed to win all 4 of the matches in the group and if they want to make 8 out of 8 in the group, they will want to win this match.France is already the heavy favorite against their opponent.
Greece is not a weak team and the Netherlands will likely find it difficult to win the match against Greece in the fifth match tomorrow so it is too early to say that the Netherlands will win the match even though in this match victory is very important for the Netherlands.
Honestly I will not take predictions or bets on the Netherlands vs Greece match and it is better to avoid uncertain risks.

France itself has been the strongest for group B so Ireland is no match for France who is currently in first place in the group from the start.
In the entire group B match France was predicted to be the most perfect to get all the wins without the slightest obstacle.
I'm not sure Greece will be able to do anything in the match against the Netherlands. Greece once won the European Championship, but since then they have not had good results. That's why I think the Netherlands will win. About France and Ireland of course it is clear who will be the winner.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes a crypto project reliable and trustworthy ? on: September 06, 2023, 01:12:19 PM
Crypto project can not be trusted fully. People usually invest a crypto project with this believe and prediction that, this project will long high & bring profit for them in future. If that project fail to developed itself with times then people move on to new project that comes with new facilities and opportunities. Even so many top cryptocurrency scammed till now, while Investors strongly trust those projects! Only Bitcoin Can be trusted, although it can also crash (ex: from $20k$ to $3.5k)
The right words. In cryptocurrency, you don't need to trust anyone. You only need to make a profit, if you are able to do so, and forget the old project, with the help of which you were able to make a profit. Believing that the project will do well in the future will not do you any good. Someone will just make money with your help. For example with TERRA LUNA it was like that not very long ago, when no one expected that it would turn out to be a scam.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in tokens on the base network on: September 06, 2023, 11:22:36 AM
You have to realise that the new blockchain and the new tokens on it are just hype. When you hear about it from Twitter or other sources, the hype is most likely at the top. That's usually how it happens. Then you think for a while whether to buy or not, and if you buy, the price starts to fall. It has happened many times. If you really see an interesting project, wait until the hype disappears and buy at the bottom.
500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: September 06, 2023, 09:58:40 AM
Both teams have played great in the first three matches, but I agree with you that Bayern will always be favourites, because they are always considered the strongest team in the Bundesliga. But now it's really hard to say who can win. It's even likely that it will be a draw.
Xabi Alonso is absolutely doing a good job and getting back on heel. Bayern Munich has won on a streak, and Bayer Leverkusen has accomplished the exact same thing. A complicated game to determine the winner regarding but there will always be a winning team from this competitive clash. Bayern Munich constitutes the frontrunner to win the upcoming encounters. Thomas Tuchel has already made arrangements every circumstance. On the other side, Bayer Leverkusen are likely to be difficult to handle because they presently lead the Bundesliga standings.
upcoming match between Bayern Munich and Leverkusen will be a tense and interesting match to watch as the two first placed teams in the standings have to compete to prove who deserves first place and my hopes are in Munich even though Leverkusen will also be in tight competition but I'm just sure that competing as a host will provide greater opportunities and high self confidence.

maybe some people will be confused about betting on which team to win and some people will choose to bet on the option that both teams score and I might choose this option because of course both teams will score equally even though the final result will be one team winning at least both scored.
Leverkusen last won away against Bayern in 2019. Bayern won a home game with a big score in 2022. The statistics are not in Leverkusen's favour. But now both teams are playing well, so it's hard to say how the game might end. I think it will be a draw or a win for Bayern.
