I told it the nth time "Never mix money with friends and relatives" because it will definitely bring conflicts that can ruin the relationship whatever it is.

If you want to make a bet then make it for yourself

If your friend wants to make then let him to make a bet on his own, if he lacks the money to bet then tell him to start gambling when he can afford to or go beyond and lend money to your gambling friend for betting.
482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The is always on gambling, never the individual. on: January 04, 2024, 02:10:13 PM
Why do people blame gamble for their own act of irresponsibility.

Let's compare it with smoking and the act remains same, we just blame the smoking not the individual who has the choice to refuse smoking the cigars but due to its addictive nature the gambling or smoking or whatever has also play in it but its only occurs when the individual let things go out of their hands, so from now on we have to call the individual who ruined their life not the gambling, not the smoking.
483  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Most safe wallet for mobile wallet on: January 04, 2024, 07:48:07 AM
If you can, Samourai Wallet, and electrum are all suitable options.

Both these wallets are only available for Android.
Yamane_Keto mentioned three wallets. For some reason your quote only shows two. I don't know if you removed Blue Wallet from the list or what happened there. Anyways, Blue Wallet works with both operating systems.

The reason is these two wallets didn't meet the requirement of OP is asking for. Fake Samourai wallets roam around IOS platform that has nothing to do with the actual Samourai wallet.

Apple device
Android device

Also, I wanted to say more about the Samourai wallet regarding their open source, cause their repositories haven't been updated in the last four years which raised some flags when their last update was released just a couple of months ago.

Electrum and Blue wallets are good for storing small amounts of BTC on mobile and I am an Android user and using Electrum for years now.
484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Single or accumulation, which one do you prefer when it comes to sport betting on: January 03, 2024, 08:39:27 PM
Single bet is the only kind of betting that I have ever done when it comes to sports betting so I guess I am not gonna risk all the winnings to win more and the Parlay is more like going all in after every winning streak in dice or crash game even though you realize that the chances of losing all the previously won rewards just over one loss.
485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Focus on how much you may lose and not only the potential win. on: January 03, 2024, 05:50:49 PM

A situation where the stake for the bet he won was $1k, the next statement you hear is how wish I knew I would have staked with $5k. The question is, the $5k is it an amount of money that you can be comfortable losing or it's just out of greed that you are not contented with the win amount the $1k gave you.

It is basic human nature, they expect a result and when it happens they get credit for it happening even if they have no play in it and they won't be thinking of otherwise at the particular moment. But the next moment if they go for a big amount then they are supposed to be then that is the problem which they shouldn't do at all.
486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: RBF - Strange Note. on: January 03, 2024, 04:15:40 PM
The old transaction is valid. The new transaction is also valid. Both remain completely valid and either can be mined, right up to the point where one of them is included in a block.

Take note that as long as none of transactions have been confirmed, both are valid.

Thanks for the info, that leads to my follow-up question.

What are the odds of both transactions being included in the same block? If both transactions are valid then both transactions can be included in the same block too if the fee is used in the same range then what happens?
487  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Most safe wallet for mobile wallet on: January 03, 2024, 07:32:28 AM
format your phone,
Formatting (factory reset) may not be completely secure because some malware can be buried deep into the root folders /boot and|or /recovery partitions in that case wiping data doesn't remove the existing malware.

For the record, cheap Android devices are found to have pre-installed malware in them so be careful with the device if you are buying one for crypto storage.
make sure that OS is open source
Android is open source and IOS is closed source but its not really going to make any difference.
that there is no root or installed apps, use the device to browse trusted sites only, making calls and avoid downloading any new apps.
Rooting/jailbreaking gives complete access of the device so one who know what they are doing can make it useful but mostly they make it more vulnerable and they do it just to install pirated apps.
If you can, Samourai Wallet, and electrum are all suitable options.

Both these wallets are only available for Android.
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: RBF - Strange Note. on: January 03, 2024, 04:35:13 AM

A miner can include a transaction paying zero fee even if there's an unconfirmed non-RBF transaction broadcasted earlier with a very high fee spending the same coin.

I know that miner can include any transaction available in the mempool but I don't get the point of a non-RBF TX with a high fee over the same coin with zero fee into the block because I thought increasing the fee (RBF) will void the old hash and will be rebroadcasted with a new signature so the TX which broadcasted later only should be available on the network right?
489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Connecting to Public Wifi on: January 01, 2024, 05:22:31 PM
I visit the city here few weeks ago due to my personal medical appointment. I notice that they have public wifi because I’m only allowed to use my Tab as mobile device due to my eye condition.

I just thought playing a little bit gambling while waiting for my appointment but then I realized that online casino has a strict rules about IP sharing. I'm really skeptical to connect because I’m not sure whether someone connected on it that play on same online casino that I’m playing. I don’t want to risk being connected to someone randomly.

I want to get the opinion how casino deal with this kind of situation. If you caught up on this messed up situation, how can you possibly defend yourself to online casino operators?

Technically you are not probably using the same IP even if you are connected to the same wifi or telecom service because they use dynamic IP in most countries so if you are not doing anything wrong then you do not need to worry about using it via a different IP but better not to be cause connecting to public wifi pose serious security vulnerabilities.

Why you should never, ever connect to public Wi-Fi

Let me give you an easy solution, just enable the hotspot from your mobile and connect your tab.
490  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ViaBTC offers no more free TX acceleration? on: January 01, 2024, 02:42:48 PM
They have FREE submissions available again (70 left after 5 minutes), but now it tells me "Sorry, your TXID doesn't exist" on the FREE service. The Paid service recognizes my transaction. It fits the size and fee requirements.

I picked a random TX from mempool.space and submitted it successfully via free acceleration. 20 spots left even after 40 minutes is something never happened in a long time, probably they adjusted their requirements to scrutinize the spam TXs from abusing free acceleration.

491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Answer this Gambling Question on Duration of Joy after a win or loss on: December 31, 2023, 05:19:46 PM
No one enjoys losing in gambling.Losing brings our hopes down, it ushers in emotional pain and grumpiness whereas, winning elevates our mood, bringing happiness and excitement. There are games where I have won and after withdrawing my winnings, I am so happy that I give gifted some of it to people around me. This doesn't last for long once the it is out of my hand and minds. I am curious, how long does this joy last after a win or a loss—does it linger until your next bet, lasting the whole day, just 20 minutes, or perhaps 2 hours?

It could be 5 seconds or a minute and everything after is just about the money you won, not really about the winning moment, isn't it?

Personally, I have never won any amount that made me think to give people on the street so I can't answer for giving the won rewards to people and their existence of joy but it shouldn't be a concern if I am thinking rational or else people may say that I am unusual. Cheesy
492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling and religious restrictions on: December 31, 2023, 02:31:10 PM
Crypto itself is called as Haram by some people so I don't think they accept gambling in any form but from an individual's perspective it's their choice and its good as long as it's done with discretion and not harming anyone including you.

I don't know about many people but people who I know say that they won't do gambling irrespective of their religion but when we get to know them closer they at least did once even so everyone has their dark side which they don't want to reveal to anyone.
493  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ViaBTC offers no more free TX acceleration? on: December 31, 2023, 11:27:03 AM
It works again. Just got a transaction in. 5 minutes after the hour and there are still 60 spots left or so.

So if you need to get some urgent transaction in then do so now before the bots return. There is a good chance the bots are taking a day off for New Years and will be back at it in a few hours. Either that or the admin somehow banned these Ordinal transactions from spamming their TX accelerator.

Well, that's good news and probably ViaBTC stopped them temporarily I guess but as of now there are no free spots but its been 20 minutes since the refresh time so I guess I will confirm about the available spots if it's still there in the next set.

Also, Viabtc pool's number of mined blocks in 24hr increased now compared to the past few days.

Edit:

Yep, there are indeed spots to fill now. 39 spots after 12:01 so the time window to submit your acceleration is just 90 seconds to 120 seconds from refresh time.

494  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Safety first before accumulation, a lesson I learnt the hard way on: December 30, 2023, 08:18:04 PM

I never purchased a hardware wallet or used it, like you described in this thread, also this is good amount of money to buy a hardware wallet compared to my holdings.
but i never got hacked, you can provide the reasons which maybe got you hacked so we can learn from your mistake, like what you had done before losing your crypto, and things like that.

Reading this reminds me of a thread : I thought I would never get hacked...

And if you have time, please feel free to read the replies and you may get to know why you weren't hacked. After all every device that connects to the internet is just another potential device to be hacked but luck favours us most of the time but it doesn't mean forever.

And don't wait to learn the importance of cold storage in the hard way, wise man once told me "Learning from your own mistakes then you are good but learning from others' mistakes is smart".
495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Buying More Tickets To Increase Your chances on: December 30, 2023, 06:04:36 PM
so from buying two tickets I'm buying 10 tickets now to increase my chances the ticket cost 20 pesos here or $0.36.
Let's assume there are a hundred tickets and certainly one out of 100 will get you to the jackpot, and you buy 2 tickets usually and now you are buying 10 tickets which certainly increases the chance of winning from 2% to 10% but it doesn't mean you may ever win at all and the same theory goes for even if you buy 99 out of 100 tickets, stll you got 1% chance to lose.

So buying more tickets isn't gonna increase the possibility of winning in my opinion.
496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The frustrations in loosing a huge bet when your winning was so assured. on: December 30, 2023, 03:48:30 PM
Irrespective of the bet amount, the moment will be filled with disappointment, and its kind of normal too but if you regret losing the bet then you have made err in the basic element of gambling, never bet money that you can't afford to lose.

We can't change what happens and we can't predict what will happen which means you can't do anything at all other than sleep on it.
497  Economy / Reputation / Re: What's the ratio of possibilities for me on: December 30, 2023, 07:24:17 AM
This is something you should ask him via PM not by creating a thread and certainly not on the technical board.
498  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: (Ordinals) BRC-20 needs to be removed on: December 30, 2023, 05:35:55 AM

We already have multiple smart contract platforms to create actual tokens (not fake ones like Ordinals that are arbitrary data). We also already have Bitcoin side-chains that can be used to create tokens.
None of these interested the Ordinals scammers simply because they wanted to attack bitcoin and also wanted to use the Bitcoin name to have access to a bigger "pool of victims" to sell their scam and earn money.

The actual reason for the creation of ordinal is just to make money with NFT shit and the person who created knew that it is going to get huge hype and that is why the thing is still in the trend and some investors do believe that this NFT token is going to be the next big, poor people who have no idea and still risk their money.

I just hope something can fix the ordinals that are exploiting the Bitcoin network while doing great harm and I don't know how long this can go on meanwhile shitcoins claim and convince Bitcoin is done and make some money for themselves.
499  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ViaBTC offers no more free TX acceleration? on: December 29, 2023, 06:25:39 PM

Quote
To this, @11:35PM forum time.

Total Accelerated Transactions

703845

The numbers are adding up every hour and especially I noticed the numbers changes at the refresh time after loading for more than usual which is when the attacks happens and fill all the spots before anyone can submit.

But I don't think the number of total accelerated TXs number represents only the freely accelerated TXs, it must be sum of both paid and free.
500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: License: is it a guarantee? on: December 29, 2023, 04:17:14 PM
Almost every gamblers notably those that make use of online Casino's for their gambling have the notion that except from a license owned casino they don't use any  casino without a license, which I think is a cautious thing to do.

But have been wondering and wanting to ask, does a license guarantees that a casino won't scam it's customer's going forward.
It's just permission to operate and nothing else, there are many types of licenses available and and each one cast varies from 50K to 500K if I am not wrong.

Regulated casinos can still scam you selectively and let your to hand dry and the only way is to proceed which requires a ton of money and a lot of years from you to prove them and even with all that there is no guarantee that you can prove they scammed you.
