Sorry, but as I understand it, this is a known feature in the Chrome browser, but in Opera, I cannot find such a tab. Undecided
CTRL+F12, type "preload", click on "Cookies and other site data".

It's in your settings.

Bear in mind, also, that Opera was based in Chromium.
482  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ | Up to 0.0375 BTC/w on: January 09, 2021, 03:55:18 PM
There has already been a discussion on this topic, and the conclusion is more than clear. The point is that CM operates exclusively with BTC, and that it pays all participants in its signature campaign exclusively with BTC. Therefore, from their perspective, it is completely irrelevant what the price of BTC is compared to fiat - because 2 BTC per week today or 2 years ago makes no difference for them.

I may be wrong, but given the reputation CM has and the “pay as much as you want for service” policy, I have no doubt they are doing very well.
You can look at it that way but if the consumers believe that 1 BTC in 2021 is worth more than 1 BTC in 2020, they're probably not as likely to pay the same amount.

Just because your operating service doesn't discriminate between USD amounts, it doesn't mean that your consumers do the same.
483  Other / Archival / Re: What's happening? A forum bug? on: January 09, 2021, 02:03:44 PM
Thanks for the answer. This bug still exists and today I already noticed it a couple of times. I have never used the Chrome browser, I have worked with the forum and I work exclusively in the Opera browser, and this bug causes certain inconveniences. Sad
I figured it might have been Opera. Check this setting in your browser, and make sure it's turned off:

484  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ | Up to 0.0375 BTC/w on: January 09, 2021, 01:28:01 PM
I think that 0.15 BTC per month or 1.8 BTC a year just from a signature campaign is evidently enough for some applicants to post their details here with following the guidelines in the OP.
~
Yes, I had to think about it yesterday for a moment...
The high rank members at Chipmixer-Campaign earn ~5000€ (~6000$) in 4 fully paid weeks at the current BTC-rate. INCREDIBLE!  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Then I could quit my job... Cheesy

Nevertheless, I begrudge every participant from my heart... Wink
All assuming that ChipMixer keeps the current rates, doesn't boot out any members, etc.

I'll repeat the same thing that all members should know intrinsically: signature campaigns are not a job. You are contracted to do work and you can be removed from the campaign at any time. Do not think of them as stable income, because you will start slowly incentivizing yourself to reduce your post quality in return for temporary bitcoin payments. Just take a look at what happens when you think long-term about short-term prospects, like the YoBit campaign.

Frankly, I'm surprised that they haven't changed anything yet!
485  Other / Archival / Re: What's happening? A forum bug? on: January 09, 2021, 01:24:50 PM
The bug was only in Chrome browser and theymos fixed it.
Maybe, the bug has appeared again.
Given that he said he couldn't find exact documentation, it's possible that there's some extension/browser nuance that happened to bypass the prefetch restriction.

Not necessarily Chrome: I know a few other browsers will try to index pages for faster load time.
486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever proven fairness of games? on: January 09, 2021, 11:01:45 AM

That will help us minimize our time to check the fairness of games because the site will not cheat the member site.
Pardon ?the site will not cheat the member ? which site are these ?
Quote
If we already found one or more gambling sites that are fair, we do not have to move on to the other website because that can make us feel uncomfortable playing gambling.
Loyalty is one best way , like what we have wearing now but sorry I don't understand your Views here.
Considering you're advertising a casino that has some form of provably fair generation, I would suggest that you look into what you're actually advertising.

The "proven fairness" in the title is mathematical. You effectively show the player that you are creating random results with the combination of the two seeds given by player and server, along with the unchangeable nonce increments. It would be highly unlikely for a collision to occur where one side knows the future bet outcomes (though still theoretically possible).

Of course, none of it matters if they casino is going to block withdrawals in some form. Make sure the ToS doesn't have some stupid shit, first.
487  Other / Meta / Re: Writing a welcome message on: January 08, 2021, 09:19:19 PM
If they don't and they break the rules then that's their fault.
Above all else:

Users should be redirected immediately to the rules of the forum before any activity.
A further introduction into the various systems (i.e. trust, activity, merit, ranks) are relevant only after this.
This would at least let people discover, "scams aren't moderated?!"
488  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Treat newbies right - Teach them and sell to them at the ATH on: January 08, 2021, 04:25:42 PM
You will likely have the opportunity to help a newbie. Each situation can and will be different but try to remember you should use your experience to help, but not influence. Everyone should get there in their own way, and you can help them do so in an informed and safe way.
I always go out of my way to try and explain the value of the network aspect of Bitcoin, to bring them toward understanding the fundamental prospects rather than the economic 'gains' (though, who would deny that it plays a factor in adoption). As a Bitcoin user, there are a lot of implicit ideas that you already know as evident in the world, yet it's important to remember the basal ignorance of one's pre-coin knowledge.

Forget what the term is, but as you grow in experience with regard to a certain topic, you slowly forget the initial difficulty curve of having learned necessary concepts and falsely assume that it's just as easy for everyone as it is for you. Maybe related to 'fallacy of common sense'.
This learned knowledge gives them the information necessary to make their subsequent choices: teach a man how the fishing industry works, not how to get a job fishing or where to fish.
489  Economy / Reputation / Re: I asked for the deletion of all topics and all posts previously on: January 08, 2021, 01:40:54 PM
I wouldn't want to be found, linked or associated to the people here.

A simple bann is not good enough when the data is available. There has to be nothing
If the PMs that you definitely sent to the administrative staff of Bitcointalk didn't help, then you're shit out of luck. Beyond that, creating more posts is probably not going to help. It's going to actually make it worse.

Instead of wasting time by making the post number go up, you could just... delete them? All this public attention is, perhaps, not in your best interest.
After all, although you aren't a singer, human curiosity finds a way.
490  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why are you guys tagging Lauda's account? on: January 08, 2021, 01:32:30 PM
So the settings that I have set will allow for at least a year not to worry about someone taking over Lauda's @username.
Would it have been possible to have converted the username into that of a bot? Just a simple single-response, "this bot is not active" (or the like), and it's not in any danger.

I hope the privacy settings were set appropriately, since theoretically someone could "time" the deletion of the GrumpyKitten account to begin a malicious takeover.
491  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk's Alexa Rating during this bitcoin bull run and some funny stats.. on: January 08, 2021, 01:24:13 PM
Anything to do with policing scams would involve occasionally treating non-scammers as scammers (for example by raising the barrier of entry to start threads in some boards), and giving other users a false sense of security as smarter scammers inevitably scam them. Not to mention the extra resources needed for all of that, there's a reason the Trust system was introduced in 2013 and the SCAMMER tags were depreciated.

It's also not unusual for new users to have to wait a bit before posting again to combat spam.
All of that is fine and good if theymos wants to run the forum in that way.

I am echoing some sentiments from members that I have seen over the years: plenty of people have turned away from Bitcointalk for the very reasons that I mentioned - lack of scam protection apart from this really convoluted trust system that you need to learn - the barriers to entry for Newbies aren't solely limited to posting obligations. The users that are incentivized to join Bitcointalk in this case would be those that value the freedoms provided by the forum, including freedom to create thousands of scam coin announcements, airdrops at no/low-cost, publish ponzi threads, write bland and uninteresting content, or do a combination of the above while trolling users and bloating the forum with spam of their scam.

Outside of the topic of scamming, new users effectively have no on-boarding process and are left (mostly) to their devices. Never mind figuring out merit and trust, good luck even finding out it exists if you're the average user that sees the first board "Bitcoin Discussion", reads a few shitty threads, and thinks that the forum is a waste of time.

Would it help if the Beginners & Help section was the first thing they saw? Maybe perhaps this thread, too? Especially when, relative to the stats, the view count of the four year-old thread gets outpaced with less than a quarter of that time. I'm not sure if the "Users Online" portion is accurate. Seems to always be sub-1000, according to the history here too.
The forum just seems to be exceptionally unfriendly to new faces.
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there anything called 'private key day' on: January 08, 2021, 12:51:38 PM
Why stop at a day? Everyone should own their own keys and we commonly talk about this as a regular topic in Bitcoin.

That's why we have the PGP and Bitcoin address-staking threads.
People should constantly be signing messages for transactions and secure text: adopt a status quo and the movement will come. Holidays are arbitrary; verified signatures are not.
493  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why does a stop limit order have two prices? Did I do this right? on: January 08, 2021, 12:45:18 PM
Imagine a scenario where the price is flash crashing, dropping way past your stop price.

If your limit price is still set at your stop price, you are not aptly prepared for any volatile spread. Where the price might have dropped from (arbitrary number) 12K to 8K, if your stop/limit was still around 10K it might never be filled. Volatile markets will destroy unprepared stop-limit orders.

You can effectively view the range between the stop and limit as the spread that you're going to be trading for the specific order.

495  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we imagine an alternative monetary model to recover our current economic fai on: January 07, 2021, 12:42:43 PM
Your job overall will be 30 point (5 * 6) and if the current community members accept your proposal you will be new community member with 30 score. Thus from now on you earn from network treasury in proportion of your score (your score is indeed your shares). You have also voting right in proportion of your shares. You can always do new jobs and increase your shares (if community accept your proposal).
Already going to start here: the fact is that early adopters will gain higher votes and you will have to deal with centralization, regardless of whether it is benign or malicious. If the points you get increase your voting power, then what is stopping a union of users from colluding? Or, better yet, Sybil attacks.

This is especially true when you have that automatic acceptance rule. As far as I'm concerned, it's a negative-consequence incentive to use the coin unless you plan on overseeing many proposals, in contrast to Bitcoin's positive-consequence incentive of block mining.
496  Economy / Economics / Re: My Perfect View of the new economy on: January 07, 2021, 12:30:27 PM
Imagine the damage to any economy that adopted bitcoin as its currency, it would be hugely squeezed.
Like the unbanked individuals which have no safe way of storing their wealth or the people whose national currencies are so hyperinflated that they had to turn to a digital one for refuge?

Local economies matter as well - after all, the culmination of the various businesses result in the aggregate economy most people refer to when they talk about "the economy".
For a thought experiment, replace the term 'bitcoin' in the quote with all sorts of other words and see how your opinions change.
497  Other / Meta / Re: How about new sub section 'Investment discussion' on: January 07, 2021, 10:37:15 AM
Unless a subset of possible board topics is dominating the front page (+50% of topics on the front page belong to said subset), it's highly unlikely that it'll have a sub-section created for it. Not much point in creating a board that will be dead on arrival.

In the overwhelming majority of cases, boards are created not to encourage discussion of a subject but to stop a certain subject from dominating a board meant for a larger array of topics.
Can we use this as an argument to get rid of the Investor-based games board?

Compare the traffic. Consider the intent of the board.

Sorted by thread creation dates in forum time (UTC), here is the most recent thread: January 03, 2021, 10:51:28 PM

And here is the tenth thread: December 13, 2020, 12:26:13 PM
And the last thread of the first page: June 27, 2020, 09:36:12 AM

Is that seriously going to be a moderation problem for the root Gambling board? In comparison, its last thread of the first page was posted November 26, 2020, 07:20:50 AM, but the general traffic of Gambling is so high that you won't find the thread until you're 5 pages deep in the regular searches. Even the second-most recent thread as of this post got pushed to the second page of Gambling: January 05, 2021, 03:03:08 PM
498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever proven fairness of games? on: January 07, 2021, 10:30:17 AM
I think we have to accept that the majority of crypto retail users just treat crypto as another digital currency, not different from paypal or other ingame coins. And maybe this is the future after all?
Even if that's the case, gamblers especially should do it at least once. If you confirm that the server/client+nonce process functions as intended, then that set of bets is in-line with provable fairness.

However much you want to extrapolate your trust from just that, do as you may, but the fallacy of argumentum ad populum is not one that I want anyone to make. The birth of blind trust leads to death of logic.
499  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Kialara Physical Bitcoins/HAVEN: Update on: January 07, 2021, 05:46:43 AM
Some of you have been asking if I'm planning any new releases - the answer is yes, and I'm working to release a new 2021 design by late Spring. And this series will be closer in line with the hydra & moon bar in regards to cost/edition size.
I'm looking forward to this! Hydra design was absolutely fantastic -- excited to see what's coming next.
500  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk's Alexa Rating during this bitcoin bull run and some funny stats.. on: January 07, 2021, 01:52:33 AM
Anyway, whilst the merit system is in place I wouldn't expect any 2017 or even 13 volume increases.
Bitcointalk is an archaic forum running on old software.
Bitcointalk does not delete scams.
Instead, its moderators refrain from making that choice for you, letting you be the arbiter.
Additionally, it even allows ponzi operators to create their threads in their own specialized place!

How lovely! I'm sure that 99% of Bitcoin users would aptly say, "no need to change anything"

Ah, and if you're a Newbie trying to learn about Bitcoin? Ask a question. Wait 6 minutes to ask another question. Wait between two to four weeks to bypass that limit, or pay to get into this forum of which you have no use.
