4901  Economy / Speculation / Re: This bubble will pop big on: May 04, 2017, 05:02:57 PM
there will be a price drop for sure, this won't last up at high prices forever. you can't just rise without expecting a correction sooner or later.

but i wouldn't start calling it a "bubble" either we are far from a bubble, if it continues going up for a couple more weeks then maybe we can start calling it as such.
4902  Economy / Speculation / Re: I can see that the bitcoin specualtion sub has matured! on: May 04, 2017, 04:34:03 PM
nah, i still see the same $100,000 speculations the same way i still see the $100 crash speculations so i don't think this "sub" has really matured.

unless you are talking about specific users around here and exclude the trolls and their guesswork.

here see 2x $200 bullshit https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1901355.0 Grin
4903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Miners or others stealing our bitcoin? on: May 04, 2017, 04:17:16 PM
-snip-

Thank you for the explanation as I am not a techy, but now can I make sure this doesn't happen again? I always pay advanced fees? Can you fix it for me as I have no clue what to do lol..Do you need me to pm any other info to you or this is sufficient?

NO, all i (or anybody else) can do is to broadcast your transaction again. and nobody needs any information in addition to what already is public aka that hex that i posted in the code tags.

i didn't rebroadcast it because i thought you may want to do something else with the funds.
if you want the transaction in OP to be confirmed then copy that tx and paste it in https://blockchain.info/pushtx and click submit.
then wait for it to confirm.

you can also use https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ to accelerate your transaction if it is stuck for a long time. copy the transaction hash there meaning:
50bf070386b69f24812744f0ac333c45666afc65fe6559b44915836b7401a874

edit:
your transaction won't confirm not because of low fee but because you are spending an unconfirmed output and that has a low fee and also dropped out of mempool!

4904  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitfinex Gap $70 Could Be News Coming? on: May 04, 2017, 04:12:32 PM
i hope there are good news about Bitfinex, for the sake of all those people having their money there still.

but the reason for this gap becoming smaller can be because people ran out of fiat there! you know there is no possibility for depositing money there so the buy pressure is lowered as majority of users bought bitcoin and made their exit.

Yes, that may be the reason, it could be interesting to look at the volume of transactions to check if it has declined. Itīs also normal that the difference, at a certain point, tends to be lower. Anyway itīs clear that an announcement favorable to the users of the platform would be positive, for them and in general for everyone because people wouldnīt lose the confidence of depositing money in the exchanges to trade.

according to bitcoinwisdom.com the trading volume of bitfinex has been 11,737 (i think the unit is BTC but not sure!)
and compared to bitstamp which is 8,720 it shows a bigger volume.
also again according to bitcoinwisdom, the volume has been the same  yesterday at 17K and the day before 16.7K then 22.3 then 8.5

and what i see is not a decrease in volume so there must be other reasons.
4905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Miners or others stealing our bitcoin? on: May 04, 2017, 03:55:17 PM
the fee was lower that it should have been so it didn't get confirmed, and then it dropped out of mempool. you can however rebroadcast the tx if you want.

this is your transaction:
Code:
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
i can do it for you if you don't know how.

4906  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Can't Withdraw BTC from BTC-e on: May 04, 2017, 03:46:16 PM
you need to contact btc-e support team, there is nothing we can do for you here. they have disabled withdrawals for "your" account. so you need to ask them what the reason for it was.

it can be a simple reason like you changing your password in the past 24 hours.
4907  Economy / Speculation / Re: The simple truth is.. on: May 03, 2017, 03:53:48 PM
Other than to signify an exchange rate, a 'bitcoin' is simply a unit of measure, and a pretty meaningless one at that.

Saying there are not enough bitcoins is like saying that there aren't enough bars of gold, or barrels of oil, for everyone in the world.

Stupidest. Thing. Evar. To. Say.

Right next to "Bitcoins are too expensive." Yeah, so are bars of gold, but that doesn't stop people from buying smaller amounts, or keep them from buying it at all.

well, for now people are measuring things with "bitcoin" and there aren't enough of that "unit" for everyone. soon they'll realize this and become like those drawings and start measuring things with "uBTC" then that won't work either then they start smaller and smaller and finally "Satoshi".
4908  Economy / Economics / Re: how i start a bussines with BTC on: May 03, 2017, 03:06:30 PM
Hi guys Smiley i want to ask you and if you have personal experiences on how i can start a bussines using BTC?

the exact same way you start a business with USD, EUR, JPY, CNY, RUR,...!

bitcoin is also money but in a different form.

for starting a business, you first come up with a plan, an idea for the business then plan more about it.
then start thinking about funds, you either have it yourself or you ask some others around you to become your partner or invest in it.
then if it is a local business like a bitcoin-coffee-shop, you find a place and rent it or if you have the money buy it.
if it is online, you start hiring people to do different things, such as programming your site, doing the security, either implement receiving bitcoin payment yourself or sign up with something like bitpay.
then you start advertising...
then profit(?)
4909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost over 12 btcs gambling on dice on: May 03, 2017, 02:49:31 PM
where do you people bring this kind of money from!
i mean i am busting my ass working and buying bitcoin, trading and doing investments and all kinds of shit and i still can't make enough money. now you have 12 bitcoin to throw away just like that! WHAT THE HELL!

and this is gambling we are talking about not a real legit investment in a real legit business. i could have seen someone invest 12BTC= $17000 in a business but i can't really understand how someone even deposits that much in a gambling site!!!
4910  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin reaches the price of 1500 USD do we have to sell or we save? on: May 03, 2017, 02:37:12 PM
first of all i can see $1485.7 bitstamp and $1492.9 coinbase prices not $1500.

there are so many different approaches one can take.

if you are a trader or want to trade and make profit then sell after there is a spike and buy back as fast as you can in the first dip without hesitation.
for a bit longer term trading you can wait for a news that you think can cause a big dip like the rejection of ETF and then sell but you have to be extra quick and also factor in the possibility of the exchange platform going down because of high traffic. and then buy back after a couple of days when there is a big dip.

for a real long term. don't be foolish and don't sell. $1500 is too small to sell Smiley wait for $10,000-$50,000 and sell.
4911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes the bitcoin price stronger in the market? on: May 03, 2017, 02:23:48 PM
Just to ask a question, since i have been trading forex i know the market is partly moved by speculation of sort. am wondering if Bitcoin price is also influenced by speculations?

what do you mean based on speculation? speculation also comes from facts and real events affecting the price of something traders trade. it is not just out of nowhere.
for example when Japan starts accepting bitcoin as a real currency, obviously more people are going to start services and then adopt bitcoin and that increases the demand, so you speculate that and start buying and price goes up. and then the real demand comes and price goes even higher.
4912  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: What is the main appeal of online wallets and why do people use them? on: May 01, 2017, 04:29:22 PM
there are two types of web wallets:
1) those that don't give you access to the private keys like coinbase.
these are very newbie friendly. and a new member who has a hard time grasping what bitcoin is feels a lot more at home when using such wallets that are also looking a lot like what they are used to, like PayPal for example. on top of that these wallets offer some features that are good to be fair. for example the fact that they pay the transaction fees (although may seen stupid to some) is useful to others. and also coinbase for example provides someplace to buy and sell bitcoin too.

2) wallets that don't have access to your private keys like blockchain.info
these are still newbie friendly because the similarity to PayPal thing is still there, you open a browser and have an account and just remember your password. but have the benefit of giving you your private keys.

and both of these are good for being accessible  from anywhere and on any device. imagine you are out and want to buy a small item. you go to one of these accounts and log in and make the payment without needing to carry your bitcoin wallet around.
but of course if you can it is always best to use a desktop wallet even as your hot on the go wallet.
4913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are local bitcoin rates so much higher than preev rates? on: May 01, 2017, 04:16:39 PM
because bitcoin price is on the rise and they all don't want to miss on possible profit so they give even higher prices. on top of that as it was mentioned you are buying in person from individuals and they offer whatever price they like to make a bigger profit from the spread.

edit: to poster above, see it like this for individual accurate price: http://preev.com/btc/usd/source:localbitcoins (currently $1509)
4914  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Poloniex isn't the best place to trade alts on: May 01, 2017, 04:03:10 PM
sometimes when some of these services become big enough that they are making a lot of money, they stop caring about customers and keeping them happy. i remember back in 2014 (or maybe it was 2015) the site was a good and smaller place. then after years of pump and dumping and making millions they became rich and stopped giving a shit about anybody!

as for your problem, here is my experience as someone who has done arbitrage with these altcoins:
sometimes they don't sync the wallet for some of these altcoins or do it with delays to save up on server resources. and that can cause a lot of delays.
also in most cases their hot wallet is empty and they have to go to their cold storages and send the funds manually or they may not even have any of that coin to give to you but that has a lower chance. and all this means more delays.

also there is always a reason why an exchange have a higher price than the other! a lot of us are watching the market and will arbitrage the shit out of the coin if it was easy or possible Grin

and i agree that bittrex is a much better platform with less problems than polo. it has a better interface which also loads faster too! but i hate bittrex API it has nothing more than basic commands!
4915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we expect "average Joe" to remember passphrases to his Bitcoins? on: May 01, 2017, 03:47:45 PM
To be honest, I didn't even bother to remember all my passphrase as I said to myself that I can just make a back up on it . I only have 3 backups, the two is on my desktop and mobile (both of them are encrypted) and then the other one is on the back of the photos, To be exact every photo in a photo album has at least one word .

It's not really a problem if a person didn't bother to back it up . It's a common sense to not put money into something that you have little knowledge of .

now we know where to look when we pay you a visit Wink

but jokes aside, make sure to not keep any backups on a hot computer (connected to the internet) because it doesn't matter if it is encrypted, at some point you put in the password and decrypt it and that can be a weakness.

go 100% cold and never worry about anything.
4916  Economy / Speculation / Re: Manipulation finished. Bubble popping. on: May 01, 2017, 03:41:15 PM
Manipulation never comes to an end with bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Depending on the market capital and the growth experienced the manipulation too happens. The bubble popping is just a outcome and these days the hands of China alone have got down in the price manipulation.

dude this topic is old and someone just bumped it up as a fun thing to laugh at the starter of this topic which is a known troll who is repeating the same thing as price drops. if you read what he is saying you see he is calling the drop down to $300 Cheesy
meanwhile price is testing $1400 resistance.
4917  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Regarding withdrawing bitcoins on: April 30, 2017, 04:34:13 PM
that is an account you have on Coinbase website and you have to abide by their rules, so if they restrict you to withdrawing $3000 only weekly then there is nothing you can do. i am not familiar with Coinbase rules but if they let you withdraw more in bitcoin then convert and do that but you won't have fiat if that is what you want.

you can contact their support and see if there is any way of increasing your limits. sometimes these exchanges/services have some special things for people who for example make and extra step for their verification.
4918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chandler Guo is supporting UASF on: April 30, 2017, 04:21:36 PM
The chinese miners are the most unstable bipolar people on earth.

haha, actually i believe the opposite is true. what we see is the instability and them saying a different thing each day but when you look at the events that happens with things they say like the price, you can start seeing a whole new picture.
it is funny how social media can affect price of cryptocurrencies that way! and we all know with fluctuations like that, there is millions of dollar profit to be made.
4919  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bobby Lee - price target in 2020; after block halving: USD $5k-$11k on: April 30, 2017, 04:06:27 PM
according to logarithmic charts representing bitcoin price rise so far, this prediction falls nearly on the same line. and he is predicting a very wide range anyways that is a $6000 difference between the min and max price he is predicting!

and i don't see any reason for price not being above $5K by then.
4920  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bittrex - Next generation exchange (btc/ltc/eac/ppc/rdd/ftc/and more) on: April 30, 2017, 03:57:12 PM
