501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Will You Do To Recover Bitcoin? on: November 12, 2019, 03:55:45 PM
In 2010, you came across a site that was giving away bitcoins. The site said it was free money so you signed up. You were logging in to figure out how it was money but couldn't. The last time you logged in you had more than 100 bitcoins. Later you forgot about the site until 2017 when a ponzi was advertising Bitcoin. Bitcoin? The name rang a bell and you stated hearing stories. You remembered you must have many bitcoins  somewhere but you can't even remember the name of the site. How would you recover your BTC?
I was in the same situation 3 years ago, i remembered that i made a wallet for some faucets back in 2011 and i could'n remember it , and the way i was able to recover it is that i went back to my email and started searching all the mail that i got that includes btc in them and lucky for me i found it and i was able to recover 150$ worth of btc, i feel like that could be also applied to anything related to btc that you forgot about other than there is no other way.
502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and tax in your countries on: November 11, 2019, 08:42:57 PM
I feel that even in most of the countries that bitcoin presents an occurring or  well established thing people don't pay taxes, i mean even if governments were to issue taxes on crypto earning they would not be able to control or track who are where the transactions are going because they don't own the blockchain network and they have no control over it, i know that exchanges and any sort of leagal company or service providers that deal with crypto has to pay taxes in some way to the government in some countries.
503  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can i make 50.000$ fast ? on: November 11, 2019, 07:33:41 PM
There is really no direct or a sure way to get that much money in that short period, and if you have got the idea that bitcoin is going to make your rich fast than you got it all wrong, you might be able to get some good profit but you will not get it in a short period of time, the crypto market is really unpredictable and harsh and the people who were able to get rich from it had the vision and the patience  to stick with it even through the bad time and if you don't have that than you won't survive, especially with trading .
504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People are underutilizing Bitcoin on: November 11, 2019, 06:03:08 PM
Full article: https://www.forrestvisions.com/blog/people-are-underutilizing-bitcoin

People need to start accepting Bitcoin and keeping it, not converting it.

If you think of Bitcoin as just a virtual placeholder for fiat currency, stable coins will be the future and Bitcoin will slowly fade away.

Thoughts?
The problem with people is that they have been looking at bitcoin in a very different way, ever since bitcoin started rising up in terms of price and volume people saw it as an opportunity an investment rather than seeing it as a better easier and more secure way to make transactions without the control of the governments, and most of these people just take bitcoin and hold it and they don't care if it becomes widely used or not, and that is why bitcoin is still stuck in a position where it is not being accepted given its popularity.
505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why only 6.2 percent of American citizens own Bitcoin? on: November 11, 2019, 10:19:08 AM
I fell like this kind of statistic comes from the fact that bitcoin and other crypto are used mostly by the undeveloped countries, where people are constantly struggling to find ways and things to earn money through the internet because their jobs are not paying as much, People in developed countries don't go out of their way to find a way to make money because the average salary is different that is why in my opinion the percentage of the ones that are involved in it are either big investors or ones that actually support the cause and really want to change the state of currencies.
506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forget Bitcoin Halving! on: November 05, 2019, 07:45:14 PM
Of course, Bitcoin has no limitation on doing much bigger things compared to now. But some news can really be effective on the price. Bitcoin halving is one of the events that is an example of it I think.

The news of Bitcoin halving does not have any long term issues with adoption or the price. The Bitcoin halving just means that from now on the block rewards are going to be in lesser amounts which means the process of obtaining Bitcoin via mining will take a lot longer. That does not effect most people who are using Bitcoin unless they are mining themselves unless you count this as a positive because less and less Bitcoin is being made available every passing day which probably means trade volume will reduce and Bitcoin will become more desired.
Actually it does have a big impact on the price and directly, because if you think about it if people are using the same hardware to mine half of the the amount of the bitcoin that we are getting today that means that the supply is going to drop significantly, and less supply and the same demand leads to increase of price, and as we saw an increase of price leads to more people and that keeps the ball rolling until something happens to ruin the party, but i am confidant that this year we will see bitcoin get some attention and some major adoptions for many companies if all things goes well.
507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes you trust bitcoin related services? on: November 05, 2019, 06:40:41 PM
Hi,

I have some questions where I have been thinking about the past week.
Why do you trust some website/company with your bitcoins?

Let's say a bitcoin casino, what makes you deposit bitcoin?
Is it the provably fair? Does it mean you trust a site when the game is fair?
Is it the looks of the site? The amount of users there are? If there is an open chat where you can see active users?

Or something else that doesn't have a game that's fair, for example a bitcoin exchange, how do you trust them?

Overall: What makes you trust bitcoin related services?

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT

Another question: What does a new service need to earn your trust?
The first question that comes to mind is why ?, why would you rather use a shady exchange or a gambling site than to use a trusted one that many people have used it before, and to be honest it is hard these days to tell which one is trustable or not, back in the day we used to trust reviews and other people who tried it before, or some experts but these days it is hard to trust anyone, but usually i look for several information about the exchange or the gambling sites regarding the founders and the origins and if it seems trustable i will just test it with a small amount and see what happens and make an opinion based on that experience.
508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: majority of blockchain project has lost focus on: November 05, 2019, 03:06:28 PM
why many of so-called blockchain projects these days are scammers, is this was motive behind the technology? many real investors are not confident to participate due to fake blockchain projects all over the internet.

what are your views

The blockchain technology was never related to the scam projects, blockchain is a system of its own and just because some people use it as an excuse to rob people of their money it does not influence it, just because someone uses something for the bad thing does not make it bad, the real reason why many of these peoject fail and are not that popular anymore is that the hype behind it has gone, you see back in 2017 when the crypto market witnessed a huge popularity many of the investors rode the hype train and started creating and investing in shit coins and projects and after the hype died and the regulation came and doped the price of bitcoin and other cryptos significantly no one is still interested in them.
509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in High School Syllabus on: November 05, 2019, 02:13:21 PM
According to the cryptocrunch: https://cryptocrunchapp.com/news/bitcoin-officially-included-in-french-high-school-syllabus/

Bitcoin cryptocurrency education will be implemented to French High School Syllabus. It is a new way to introduce money to students.

They are focusing on four Video questions:
1. Can bitcoin be a replacement to Euro?
2. Is bitcoin the currency of the future?
3. Is bitcoin is a currency like others?
4. Do you have to trust your currency?

Regarding this, it would be a good start to educate students about money and trust.

What's your opinion about this? Should cryptocurrency as a whole and blockchain be in schools curriculum?
I think that this is a good and revolutionary step, not just to teach them about crypto but today if you ask anyone about the origin of the money and why it has value they won't even know what to say, and if think that is one of the main reasons why they don't care or show any interest in cryptocurency other than it is profitable, and if you we teach the kids all about it and how bitcoin and the blockchain technology aims to change the way we look at it, and with that we help promote it and push its adaptation in the future.
510  Economy / Economics / Re: JUST IN: Chinese Central Bank to Launch Digital Currency Called "DCEP" on: October 29, 2019, 05:06:33 PM
Well this doesn't' come to my surprise at all, ever since they started talking about regulating crypto, since it is highly popular there, it was obvious that they wanted to get into it, and i am actually surprised why they haven't done it long time ago, because if people use bitcoin in china they are not controlled by the government which is known for blocking and preventing anything that is not Chinese, and by making this digital they would try to control the crypto market in china, but i am sure that many people would just not use it since it defies what crypto is about.
511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in football on: October 29, 2019, 03:05:50 PM
This is apparently a trend as i saw some other Japanese racing team have the logo of an exchange on their cars, this goes to show you how long the crypto market has come along and how much of a stronghold the exchanges have made in the overall market , and this makes me wonder why are they specifically targeting sports, they could have chosen any field to market their businesses, never the less this seems like a giant step towards the spread of the cryptocurrency in the world.
512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A rising number of Americans own crypto and nearly 13 million women says study.. on: October 29, 2019, 02:15:38 PM
I feel like since the late 2017 when the price of bitcoin reached high numbers and the general public was talking about it, a lot of people were introduced to the whole crypto concept and it really took off from there, and since then i feel like there have been a lot of projects and crypto related things immerge, so it comes to no surprise that more and more people are invested or contributing in some way or another in the crypto market, i mean from many random people i have talk to about bitcoin they know a lot about it compared to 2 years ago.
513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Time in Bangladesh on: October 29, 2019, 12:21:27 PM
It is good to see that more and more countries are moving toward the digitization and adapting to the new area, and i feel like that bitcoin has played a big role in promoting and showing that the blockchain technology is a new and revolutionary system that has the potential to change and improve upon many aspects of our lives, even though that this is not a big deal or doesn't have any influence on bitcoin, because as some people mistaken blockchain is not bitcoin, it is still opens up a lot of new windows for crypto related and no crypto projects.
514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin needs institutional money coming in? on: October 29, 2019, 11:09:25 AM
Bitcoin at first didn't really relay on the institutional money and still doesn't to a certain point, as bitcoin started as a new way to use money on the internet and a new currency to replace the centralized fiat, but as time went one and more people got into it it turned into pure investment where people don't really care what bitcoin is or what reason it was made for they just know that it has value and it gives them profit, and because of that the user base of bitcoin is more based on that rather on the actual nature of it.
515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holiday Season Card with QR code on: October 29, 2019, 10:28:01 AM
I actually saw a youtuber do a similar thing, where he got a bunch of flyers with QR code for different amount of bitcoin and put them up in different places and his fans went around scanning them and getting free btc, and it was very successful and a lot of people liked it, and i think that it would be a great and more interesting and exciting way to not only give people money rather than just sending them regular paper money but also as said it would introduce new people to btc.
516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Happens If China Bans Bitcoin Mining? on: October 24, 2019, 12:52:56 PM
I think that if they ban it or not it will still go on and nothing much will change, maybe some of the big companies that are set to mining bitcoin will relocate or maybe shut down, but a lot of individuals will stay and just mine in the shadows as all things that become illegal, and the thing about bitcoin is that it is adaptive, the blockchain and the difficulty is based on how many people are mining so if china banned bitcoin mining, the number of miners will go down but the price and the supply of the bitcoin will stay the same.
517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto “Marketing Experts” End Up in Scams, Affirms Jimmy Song on: October 24, 2019, 09:58:49 AM
Crypto developer Jimmy Song has tweeted that many ‘marketing experts” who enter the crypto space end up working for scam projects.

https://bitcoinist.com/crypto-marketing-experts-end-up-in-scams-affirms-jimmy-song/
What he is saying has some form of relevance, as most people who call themselves experts are really not saying anything that people don't already know about, and most of them are just doing it and spreading prediction and information just to influence the market in their own interest, so if one expert starts talking about a currency and parsing it and saying that it is good and will rise in the future, that is because he wants people that follow him to invest in it and than it will actually rise and he will get the profit from it, and if he gets paid by a company to say the same thing about their coin he will do it, even without knowing its background or whether it is a scam or not.
518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can there be some Bitcoin Central Agency in future? on: October 14, 2019, 07:14:40 PM
I don't think that such thing can really happen, because the whole point of using bitcoin and what is based on is decentralization and creating an agency or something to control and centralize it is defying that idea, scams and other things happen because people are being stupid and uneducated, if you lose your money investing in some shady website that is your fault and no one else, bitcoin is secure and independent and odes not need any regulation due to its nature and how the blockchain works.
519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Store of Value or Method of Payment on: October 14, 2019, 11:03:40 AM
I think that the current situation that bitcoin is in leans toward people just using it as a store value and they prefer just investing their money in it and just saving it, from what i have seen there are some people that use bitcoin as a way to pay for thing indirectly and that is by exchanging it to fiat, and that is due to the fact that there are barely no shops or places to spend it, sure there are some but they are not a necessity and people don't want to spend and hour or tow to look for a shop to buy some food for bitcoin that is miles away from them, and that is why they don't spend it .
520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No other currency on: October 14, 2019, 10:10:41 AM
What if there is no other crypto currency or alt coin. How does it affect the price of the bitcoin. How high is the value of bitcoin in your opinion.?
Even though bitcoin and altcoins are all cryptocurrency, i think that they have a different audience or different way that people treat them, what i mean is that people invest in bitcoin and they hold it  because they know that in the future the price of the bitcoin is going to be high, as for altcoin they invest in it in the intent that they will sell it or trade it as soon as they made certain amount of profit from it, and for that reason i think that even if bitcoin was the only cryptocurrency not much will happen aside from the fact that all those people who are investing and trading altcoin will migrate to bitcoin and that will boost the demand and also the price.
