501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet.io AFCON 2024 prediction pool discussion thread on: February 04, 2024, 10:57:52 AM
Back to AFCON, I'm sure every knows already how much of an anomaly this tournament has been, being from Africa doesn't offer the slightest of advantage as far as the SuperBRU pool is concerned.
I believe it does. Of course it isn't much but you two being from Africa probably means you at least watched some games. Furthermore it means you have more interest with the tournament and much more media coverage. I haven't read a single article about AFCON while it lasts while I daily read at least 10 regarding Premier League and at least 5 regarding my own Croatian league.

<>

Even if it is just in "I feel like I know what I am doing bias".

I agree with Trofo. I know La Liga the most, followed by everything in Europe to the same degree in the big 4/5. But judging from own performance, it's hard to say if this advantage really means anything BUT I think over long term I perform consistently bad in La Liga, mainly because of bias for Barca and against Real.

F1 pool I almost won, and it's worse than AFCON, I knew nothing about the sport, I only started reading because of the pool and until today I didn't know the full rules and never watched a single race. I followed purely odds plus past performance, and somehow did better consistently in the whole season, my first season!

I probably would be the same if there was pool for Asia Cup. I would blindly predict upset for the teams I support, Japan, S Korea etc I would never have counted Tajikistan to reach knockouts.

It's a problem but a nice one, if you think about it Smiley
502  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Top 6 Crypto Ebooks You Need to Read in 2024 on: February 04, 2024, 09:27:29 AM
I thought these were new books in 2024 lol and it's the same old books of 5 to 10 years ago Wink

Not that I have anything against them. I love Internet of Money but you should read the partner book Mastering Bitcoin, same style very interesting and very useful. Better than reading nonsense about trading.

So are you offering a free download service? Smiley I mean you're charging $8 when I know where to get it for $0 Tongue
503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: February 03, 2024, 04:10:33 PM
EDIT: Stupid me didn't check which thread I'm replying to so I deleted the part that was meant for the BSFL thread Grin

Don't worry all posts are fine in Sportsbet as we are almost all the same competitors. Even in F1 when it was going I was talking about BSFL and it made sense.
Not just that it helps maybe bring few stranglers to other pools but in reality I believe all of us in these pools are well aware of everything on offer in gambling section. Of course it gets a bit stupid if whole conversations spring up from that off topic post but some references and short replies I would argue are even beneficial.

If I remember, most of my awareness from the pools came from non-related threads anyway or rather, like F1 probably came from a discussion thread IIRC.

IT's definitely not what the good posters do, derail conversations, but the best ones you pay attention to even if it seems off topic, it's always referencing the same mentality of gambling.

BSFL after all is sports fanatic, so covers everything. If I had a thread and BSFL people commented in there about their relations, I would love it, it brings attention to my thread Smiley
504  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: February 03, 2024, 03:09:35 PM
it is a solid lead, if I may say
what are expected numbers in the end?

have AFC to win with a small difference, so keeping fingers, but slaman29 is on AFC to win 4+, so both of us far from point here

No idea, it's an event more than sport. I think NFC team is a bit better, I also asked my friend who is a huge NFL fan and he agreed.
Doesn't mean a thing though, but I kinda feel that I'm well placed at this point. A lot of it still to be played though.

Damn, I thought it would be a total domination, but then again, everything I read was sided towards that. If you Google enough you find 50-50 articles saying either side is stronger, in the end, that's all we can do. Follow somebody's opinion lol

I honestly don't care when things settle, slowly over week feels nice but blocked up weekend is also cool. I'll lose either way it seems  Grin

506  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF on: February 03, 2024, 09:55:16 AM
ETF buyers aren't holders they're speculators.

While I agree to some degree with you, I have to say that bitcoin is way more complicated than people think. Yes if you want to invest a large quantity in bitcoin you can afford to buy a hardware wallet and read into it a lot. But if you just want to invest up to 500 USD it is probably not really worth your time to not just buy the ETF.

Speculators aren't complicated. They want to buy low and sell high (or the other way around). If they can do that without actually getting involved in all the complications of buying the asset like sourcing it and storing it and paying for security, they would.

Hence futures, hence ETF.

A guy with only 500 to invest won't start with a hardware wallet. Just a simple digital wallet, careful security, even paper wallet is better. Cheaper.

Guy with $500 doesn't want to lose 1% fees annual to ETF and KYC etc.

I know cause I had $500 and I bought BTC, not a future or ETF lol.
507  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 Official Partner of Newcastle United Football Club on: February 03, 2024, 08:54:41 AM
Some close calls with freebets, Wolves could have turned it around, United's last-min win didn't do me any good with Boca Jrs failing to win...
Did you change your betting strategy, because I dont see many underdog bets? Wink
It sucks when you see this with such low odds, but it happens even to the best players.
I also played on Real Madrid like you, and I am waiting just for Newcastle to win against Luton to win one of my tickets with free bet.

I had the exact same thoughts, like seeing multibets even is not so normal, he always puts on games involving City, Brentford is coming next aren't you gonna put on them? Maybe even check for Betbuilder Brentford + Toney score, might be 20x or something?

Low odds lose as easy as big ones in sports, I mean, I change my betting because of guys like you buway Tongue

cryptofrka thinks just like me, we are both relegation fighters so we didn't pick 3+

The problem of points is it is so precious it leads to overthinking Sad

Hey hey, Bradley was MOTM in the cup game, and he's as weak a twig as TAA was when he first started. Hope post Klopp guy can also figure out how to toughen him up. Our academy boys are not short of talent and hard running, which is great, but they're always faced with a mountain to climb with brute strength.

No no I was just kidding, of course I know from match reports this is an upcoming youngster, replacing Trent who is moving into midfield. I just found it so funny the entire midfield was cheaper than Caicedo who didn't want to join Liverpool and now he has to prove everything. One more chance in Cup, they will be better than this match I'm sure in Carabao Smiley

Real won, as usual, so the race is on and now Girona again must keep the distance. I wonder when they will lose again?

@Renato297 Not coincidence it's deserved you guys show real competitive edge Smiley

Trofo wooden spoon OMG!

Please be easy on him; I've never seen him this quiet after that humbling. well deserved.

Lol no, the table is just too close that everything changes after a few games and now with 8 more games either results are too good to predict and everyone stays the same or people who take different risk approach will be rewarded. I think with all Quarterfinal games over we will know more or less who is who.

I have to take risks now, no choice!!
511  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF on: February 02, 2024, 07:49:24 AM
the price hardly had an increase and what is more surprising is that the price had only dumped.
Well there is a very good explanation for that, that many people missed in the first place. The Greyscale Bitcoins are very expensive if you consider yearly cost of storage. SO people are now selling these to get in a cheaper Bitcoin ETF. This means people are now selling a lot of bitcoins which leads to sinking prices. They will hold their cash as long as they see that the price will go down.
If however we see an uptrend they will jump in and this will most likely result in a big spike.

There's always a good explanation for everything in trading but you sorta hit it on the head saying "many people missed in the first place".

No, MOST (if not all) people missed, cause nobody said anything about it. Everyone said "ETF" boom. Period. I was saying all along ETF not gonna do anything, old news, and people overestimating impact. It was not popular.

It's so stupid to see people are selling Grayscale to buy ETF because cheaper fees lol. Buy Bitcoin. Actual Bitcoin. No storage fee.

ETF buyers aren't holders they're speculators.
512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet.io AFCON 2024 prediction pool discussion thread on: February 01, 2024, 12:04:36 PM
WD Igebotz and Saint-loup, man this is a tough competition. So few games left so the hopes of going up to top 5 is very very difficult now, But they both did it and leaves me to find a way to close the distance. I dropped 4 places to 14th, now I have the exact amount of games left to get those 4 places back for a consolation.

Trofo wooden spoon OMG!

I totally agree with Igebotz, this is the best AFCON ever. Favorites all leaving so soon. Underdogs coming up far. Goals everywhere. Still loads of drama, still loads of cheating ref (duh lol) but we are having a treat.

New winner name I think will be written on this cup!!
Not that I saw many AFCON's, but this one can't be compare with previous tournament. Good number of goals scored, lot of drama and upsets. And all these upsets, we already have 5 Top ranked teams eliminated, I can't imagine such scenario in EURO. But at least I have excuse for my awful performance in pool.
From remaining teams, I already will refrain from predicting who can lift trophy.

It was very good to predict draws with favorites and small upsets. Funny thing is I picked South Africa couple times when they didn't win and then finally when they did, I didn't pick them
513  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 Official Partner of Newcastle United Football Club on: February 01, 2024, 10:29:10 AM
Aston Villa have been great at home for a while now so to go there and win 3-1, totally dominating them is hopefully a sign that Newcastle can get back to winning ways.
Every great run has to end at some point Wink
Newcastle destroyed Villa and they did it in away match, that was their weak spot this season, and they did it with many players missing from squad.
You must be extra happy as Liverpool just cruised over Chelsea tonight  Grin

It's strange to say but this Newcastle result is the most unexpected. City 3-1, easy. Spurs 3-2, also possible. Even Liverpool 4-1 is what you call unsurprising but Villa + Ollie against Newcastle with few first choice players you think a draw for them is precious. Too bad about Newcastle not in Champions League but maybe this is the reason they're able to get back on track.

Oh wait Luton Everton is the most surprising lol
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: February 01, 2024, 09:13:55 AM
I didn't have heart to say it earlier, buway knows how I feel. I love Xavi, I don't get why people at the club can't support him. His players do, the youth of Catalan and Spain say it publicly even so we all know the problems lie elsewhere. This guy brought the smiles back and we pushed him away.

I felt it 2 seasons ago already but even more stronger now that I'm going old and difficult to think of my club in the way its becoming.

How silly it feels to celebrate 1-0 win against Osasuna, with everything going on. But we fight on.
515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: February 01, 2024, 07:16:54 AM
Shit mannn I knew I would lose answering 2 goals. I knew it, as soon as I saw most of the players submit 3 goals, I was screwed. Sterling, Muydryk, where are you all? And worse, why do you let some unknown teenager score??

Well if I continue to fail to submit my answers, then the goal difference will be much worse for me. But if I were you, I wouldn't rely on the fact that I will lose the remaining games. Now I have to try extra hard to win few games that are left in this season. But I wish you good luck in trying to avoid relegation Smiley

Thanks, I'm off to bad start but that's the way the dice rolls lol

New article is up if someone wants to recount last week cup & friendly battles:
https://sportsbet.io/sports/soccer/news/bitcointalk-sports-fanatics-league-cup-semi-final

Alex scored SIX! Are they hopefully also able to join us in BSFL just as sidebet options? I guess they can't play because of conflict? I personally think it should be fine tho

If I didn't read it I wouldn't know cryptofrka mafia is meeting my fellow relegater from Argentina, interesting for me to follow Wink
516  Economy / Services / Re: Crypto Cards (Virtual + Physical) on: January 31, 2024, 01:26:26 PM
I like virtual cards, but to try it out I need to KYC. Do you know OP for virtual cards because they are non refundable:

> What is expiry on vcc?
> Is there limit to # you can create?
> Can you load exact amount? For EG I want to buy netflix for 1 year, if it costs Exactly 11.99 can I load 11.99 on it?
> Can I transfer unused balance. For EG I top up 1 card $10 but only use 9.80, can I send .20 to another card?

I used to be able to use VCC years ago but now only 1 bank does it here, and you can only have 1 VCC, so it's kinda useless to pay stuff like single use VPN and things.
517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: January 31, 2024, 12:59:42 PM
trying to stay in top5, but it is getting harder by each week, not sure how, but I usually have a good start in Calcio and dropping position with season going
in all other pools, I usually have contrary situation, starting lousy and improving as season is opening and teams showing their real strength

I am 14, 12, 15, 14 in La Liga, EPL, Serie A and AFCON.

So I am consistently below the top 10 in everything. It suggests I can have a prize in all of them by the end of the season, or none of them, but being bottom of BSFL I guess I'm like the Almeria of this forum. Put up fights, do nothing to win anything Tongue

I only won something in F1 pool, my first time playing, and sure enough it was something I knew ZERO about. Life is funny in that way hehe

I wish you good luck here, but I must need some of you guys to drop from 5th onwards lol

Nothing better than to beat people you know in competitions like this. Granted it takes a way bit of charm if we are fighting to enter top 20 instead of fighting dor top positions.

I wrote off La liga and Serie A pools long time ago. FPL is the one that needs to cover all costs and get me in the profit this season.

I won't lie, BSFL's attraction for me isn't so much the answering questions every week, it's actually way way way more pressure and time requirement than Superbru, and in the end of the season potentially you don't win much, even if you're unlucky like I will most probably be, you win freebet which you'll lose lol

It's the chance to face all the legendary members like you who I probably also never get the real chance to bet against because you guys are whales and I only bet few dollars Tongue

FPL I never joined, I don't know English players at all, but even if La Liga had Fantasy I doubt I know how to play it well. Fantasy really needs you to know players, injuries, suspensions, etc I hardly can keep track. Are FPL players mainly same as BSFL/Superbru?
518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: January 31, 2024, 11:33:09 AM
unbelievable
lesson learned certainly, I am not checking whether my answers are in the spreadsheet after submitting, but will do from now on

first day passed, Newcastle show didn't gave me any advantage, since slaman29 had same answer
Morocco to go out set us that this answer was not important although different, so four more different answers to go, Jesus and Nunez scoring/assisting, Liverpool goals tonight against Chelsea, NFL and Atalanta
Liverpool tonight and than weekend show
GL slaman29

Oh casperBGD if only slackovic was right above me, but he's too far up to make a difference because if I win all remaining rounds and slackovic loses all, I am same point but worse goal difference. I didn't check the tables plus schedules too much because of the disappointment  with myself but I need practically 11-th onwards to keep losing while I keep winning lol

Jesus Nunez, some of the most terrible finishers in England, and we chose to support one of them, Liverpool oh no, I regret not picking 3, it's the most chosen answer in the table, NFL no idea, Atalanta, coinflip.

Good luck to you friend. You need points to win this league, I need points to survive. Which team will have bigger motivation??

I don't want to take anything away from the Ivorians efforts last night but If they had not conceded that goal very early, they likely would have had much to play for or come all out aggressively, I strongly doubt they stand a chance to win the by any stretch to be honest.

100%, I think they finally learn about strategy even though it's not the most exciting thing but they want to go far, so play with strength and conserve energy for later.

South Africa through, Cape Verde through, Mali through, DR Congo through WOW
