5141  Economy / Speculation / Re: It going to hurt..! drop back under 1000$ on: March 08, 2017, 05:18:31 PM
you can't just make up random "guesses" like this. and no chart can support your "guess" on this. for all we know tomorrow SEC approves ETF and price goes to $2000 or Chinese get back their access to their loved exchanges and start buying like mad men and push price to $2000 making up for lost time.
5142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fiverr.com forced to remove BTC as a payment option due to high fees on: March 08, 2017, 05:08:25 PM
How many people were using bitcoin in Fiverr? Probably very few.

If they removed a payment method so quickly it's because it was irrelevant to their business, if it was relevant they'll use some alternative.

When bitcoin starts losing its utility you'll see it in the price, hint: it will not be an all time high.  Cheesy

relevant to their business! that doesn't make sense. but one possibility might be because very few were using it. and usually services don't like having too many options. it is always better to keep the options limited to top used ones.
5143  Economy / Service Discussion / Did ViaBTC accelerator stop working? on: March 07, 2017, 04:14:54 PM
i have used https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ multiple times before without any problem but today i have had a couple of payments that i wanted to put through this service and i couldn't do it from the morning!

obviously i assumed the 100 limit was reached but just right now ViaBTC mined block 456173 and technically their 100 tx should go back to zero and allow new submissions but it still says "submission beyond limit!"
5144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bank??? on: March 07, 2017, 03:36:24 PM
I don't know how it will work for any of us. A Bitcoin Bank that provides interest to us? Maybe it is some kind of an impossible thing because Banks need to handle the volltility of Bitcoin. A Volatile money means it won't be profitable to banks because no customer is willing to accept that kind of currency.

a bank is not just offering profit, there are lots of other services they offer too. such as storing money, giving loans, giving ways to spend it such as credit cards, checks, ... some of these services would be stupid with bitcoin but many may like it.
also the volatility is not an issue when you just work with bitcoin meaning you receive bitcoin and pay bitcoin
5145  Economy / Speculation / Re: Jihan Wu crashes the Bitcoin price on: March 07, 2017, 03:30:58 PM
it is so funny that all of this crap is just over 3 (or i think 5 according to coin.dance) new blocks that were signalling BitcoinUnlimited and there has been 231 other blocks out of last 1000 previous blocks doing the same signaling.

are you still saying what's her face is crashing bitcoin price? i don't think so.
5146  Economy / Speculation / Re: Major DUMP incoming due to upcoming BUChina hardfork on: March 07, 2017, 03:19:44 PM
aww.
there there my friend. did you sell your coins too soon? you have my sympathy...

next time make better decision about your selling price choices.

I would normally call out FUDsters, but this time it's something to seriously consider.

The ETF rejection is not that bad, it's pretty predictable it will most likely not get passed, BUT, if Jihan Wu decides to fuck shit up, we will see a chain reaction of panic selling. Stupid motherfucker is too dumb to see how he can cause another ETH/ETC armageddon in bitcoin.

don't be naive. and stop comparing bitcoin with that ether shitcoin. that was a big mistake and the developer forked the coin without anybody accepting the for so it was left with side chain!
the recent thing about Jihan Wu is mostly drama because 2 of their blocks were signalling support for BU and it is not the end of the world. and these are not the first blocks signalling BU and this will not cause a fork.
5147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is treated a stock on: March 06, 2017, 04:44:11 PM
Definitely an asset. Until it's accepted in more places, NOT ONLINE, i.e retail stores, it won't be see as much else.

Also it's still decently hard to get BTC in most countries. I.e you have to go through quite a bit of effort and cost sometimes (i.e fees to send a wire transfer to some exchange)

you can always easily use other methods. you don't have to necessarily use an exchange service to get bitcoin.
for example i just sold some coins to someone in my country completely peer to peer and the other party used his bank (debit) card to transfer the money to my account with zero fees. and his price was just 1-2% below the market.
5148  Economy / Speculation / Re: Again Indian markets are leading. India buying bitcoins for ~$1500 on: March 06, 2017, 03:47:07 PM
What kind of an idiot buys at $1500 when the price is more than $200 below that?
I just wonder a legendary member asks how bitcoin prices are being determined.

Could you explain why bitstamp and bitfinex are not showing same prices at all the times ? Or Could you explain why people here in this forum are paying 5% to 20% extra than preev rates ?

People who want to buy bitcoins with their local currency pays extra than major exchanges. No surprises nor brainless action.

well as i said above the reason for the first time this rise in price in Indian markets happened was because Indians had limitations on their bank withdrawals so the only way they could buy bitcoin was through cash and other payment methods on localbitcoins.

i actually am buying bitcoin lower than 5% above preev rates with my local currency. and we don't have any exchange like zebpay in our country even Cheesy
5149  Economy / Speculation / Re: When does an ETF buy coins on: March 06, 2017, 03:22:09 PM
And more importantly, at what point does the ETF actually buy new coins?

when nobody or better say so few people knew about ETF. which means when you heard about ETF winkle twins have already invested in bitcoin and bought all the coins they needed for ETF and some more.
5150  Economy / Speculation / Re: Again Indian markets are leading. India buying bitcoins for ~$1500 on: March 06, 2017, 03:00:55 PM
interesting, i remember the first time this happened the Zebpay and exchanges like that were higher but not by a lot. the high prices were mostly on localbitcoins and it was understandable since their access to their bank accounts were limited.

but do we have any reason for this difference today?
5151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Society’s Curse or Boon? on: March 06, 2017, 02:55:36 PM
there is always good side and bad side to everything. and bitcoin is no exception. the bad can be the little anonymity that bitcoin offers and opens up some small ways for some illegal activities.
but the good is always a lot more. the good of bitcoin is the decentralization in my opinion and the fact that it opens up a whole new technology for the world, and we can see banks and lots of others are adopting the technology already.
5152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: let's push the btc etf on: March 05, 2017, 05:57:06 PM
i can't wait until 11th or at least 20th till this headache about bitcoin ETF is over and we start hearing something new. i am honestly getting tired of seeing the same thing over and over again and meanwhile it is not really a key thing for bitcoin.
5153  Economy / Economics / Re: How Bitcoin will reach $2000 to $10000 in 2017 and $100k by 2026. on: March 05, 2017, 05:45:59 PM
sadly i cannot watch youtube from here but i have to say the rise is not going to continue on like this forever. we are in the ground floor and we are seeing big rises, at some point this will speed up if the adoption happens but the speed of the rise will slow down so you can't just extrapolate the data from these days to the data for future.
which is why i say $2000 and higher is possible but not 100K
5154  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin break its own record !! on: March 05, 2017, 05:39:41 PM
I already sold it. I can smell the dip from a mile away  Grin

price is too volatile right now. not so long ago it was $1250 and not it is back at $1273 and whenever things become this wild predicting becomes impossible in my experience.

although i am also waiting for a correction but i can't smell it like you Smiley
5155  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do Bitcoin traders know when it's the best moment to sell? on: March 05, 2017, 05:34:19 PM
How do Bitcoin traders know when it's the best moment to sell and then buy again?
How to get that moment just before the crash?
How do experienced traders keep holding and predict the best sell time just before the crash?

bitcoin traders are also like many other traders. they don't ever know when to buy and when to sell exactly because nobody owns a time machine or a future telling orb.

anyways it is all speculation. you analyze the market, it can be technical and fundamental analysis and listening to news and checking so many other things to try and make a best guess(an educated guess) and then act on that .
5156  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How I made my first Million USD on digital currencies on: March 04, 2017, 06:11:09 PM
can you give us a summary or some kind of TLDR of your journey first and then go in details like you are right now with the "day 1" etc?
for example what else did you do apart from mining?
did you just mine and hold to sell now?
or did you mine, and do some more stuff with those coins and multiplied your stash?
5157  Economy / Speculation / Re: expecting correction? on: March 04, 2017, 05:29:14 PM
does this theoretical correction include an etf rejection?

i'd vote for 850-900 ish in that case but there are a couple of other applications coming a short time after. i'd guess that if the winklevoss one don't pass nothing else will either.

no because things like Winklevos ETF are nothing more than a distraction to push the price higher than it normally goes and make more profit. bitcoin never needed them and it never will need it in the future which means its approval or rejection don't play any role in the future of bitcoin.

and i would be really surprised if we can ever see prices lower than $1100 or $1000 because of this (possible) rejection!
5158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Anyone Ever Tried Selling Bitcoin on a Market Stall? on: March 04, 2017, 05:23:08 PM
The thing is even if you do this it highly unlikely there would be a bitcoin user among the tourists and that too who wants to buy BTC for you. Also If i was visiting London and i see someone selling BTC like this, I probably would care thinking someone is trying to scam as we all know BTC community is full of scammers.

Yes. Plus if someone is selling a paper wallet, can't they simply keep a copy and have access to the private key?

the idea of doing something like this with paper wallets is to spread the word about bitcoin not make people a wallet (private key on a paper) they can dump their money in!
and you do keep the private keys but explain how things are in the back size of the paper.

for example you put a couple of bucks in that paper wallet and on the back you explain how they can sweep the key and spend the coins using a bitcoin wallet, give links to bitcoin.org and the /choose-your-wallet page so they can download something like Electrum or others for their cell phone and spend those coins.
and for example if they didn't spend them in a month you use the private keys to spend it yourself.
5159  Economy / Speculation / Re: expecting correction? on: March 04, 2017, 05:08:51 PM
The correction already happened,
Correction just happened. Now back up to $1350-$1400 before the ETF decission.

well i had it in my opening post but i removed it because to be honest this looks more like a short dump to me rather than a correction. although it was a good test of the buy resistance.

5160  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin prices go to the moon? on: March 04, 2017, 05:01:21 PM
Every time we see a rally in bitcoin's price like it is the last few weeks people they say the well known phrase 'price go to the moon'. But which is this price? $2000-$3000 even higher? And what will they say after an obligatory correction? Does anyone know what SEC will decide about first bitcoin ETF in March 11? or, does anyone knows if the Chinese government continues its strict policy about the conversion controls had already imposed to Chinese exchanges? I believe that the answer is no.

"to the moon" to me is just like that meme of rollercoaster they post on reddit every damn day!
and the price has no cap, it can go up to 10K$ and then more.

also i have to say about the two things you said here, they are both two unknown events that can change the coarse of things but only temporarily. the SEC thing is just hype these days.
and the Chinese will come back to normal again otherwise people are going to continue their OTC trading and there is not a damn thing they can do about it.
