Situation is getting ridiculous with Zalgiris. Today it was confirmed that Maksvytis will continue to work in Zalgiris after players disagreed with decision to sack him https://basketnews.com/news-198911-maksvytis-remains-zalgiris-coach-after-players-rebel-against-his-dismissal.html
They even made press conference to explain situation, but there was lot of lie. It was said that they trust in Maksvytis, but also confirmed that they had talks with other coaches - they contradict themselves. Coach Trinchieri even had plane tickets to Kaunas on Friday evening, but offcourse, they didn't confirmed that. It will be very hard for Maksvytis to continue working when he don't have support from front office.

Strange evening in Euroleague. Olympiacos - Valencia was some anti-basketball when both teams scored just 119 points combined. And Valencia win is big upset. Another surprise is Milano win vs Barcelona, Valencia were leading for whole 40 minutes. It's difficult period for Barca with several defeats both in Euroleague and ACB.
Jasikevicius started at Fenerbahche with solid win against Monaco. He arrived to team just 24 hours before game, so, probably win isn't his credit, but it's easier for Saras because he knows big part of Fener players as he managed them before.
522  Other / Meta / Re: How did you know about Bitcoin and Bitcointalk? on: December 15, 2023, 07:45:59 PM
I already wrote several times how I discovered Bitcointalk. Short answer is Google. In my early Bitcoin days I used faucets to make money and I was looking for faucet lists to maximize my earnings. In this way I got Bitcointalk Micro Earnings board in search results. For some time I was browsing here without account, later made account, but was a bit afraid to post. Later I started posting only on Micro Earnings board and eventually went into other boards. And the rest is history.

The real question is: did you join Bitcointalk before or after you discovered you can earn money from signature campaigns?
Yeah, when I joined Bitcointalk I had no idea what is signature campaign and it a while for me to discover it. In my early months here I saw many posts were people told that you can earn from signature andI thought - WTF is that? Had no idea what is signature campaign,, I thought that it can be someone paying money for signups or signing petition Cheesy. I saw that many members here are wearing colourful signatures, but I couldn't relate it with signature campaign, I thought that people just promote their own projects or affiliate links.
523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Group Stage playoffs on: December 15, 2023, 06:52:24 PM
So Group Stages are over, admittedly I didn't watch a single game over the last two Matchdays here, but the playoff formats bring in some interesting potential matchups.

Strong Turkish sides have advanced as expected, if with some struggle. But unlike Europa where I feel there are some very strong favourites early on, I'm struggling to identify winners. I don't trust Brighton, despite bookies leaning with them. Last year's Frankfurt aren't nearly showing up, and could still lose the playoffs.

Ajax, funnily enough, probably proceed to Last 16 after dropping out of UCL and appear to be finally shrugging off the shitshow they've been staging all season. Survive the playoff and they might just be strong enough to win this. No odds yet on my book -- but I'd place a tidy few satoshis on them winning Conference.
I also barely watched Conference league group stage, but now more interesting things will begin. Ok, not now, in February actually. What do you think about Aston Villa chances? For me they're looking like main contenders and Emery knows well how to win UEFA Cups. Ajax also can be considered, they're starting to play good football after being disgraceful in first months of season. Betis name also can be mentioned.

Fenerbahce beat Spartak Trnava 4-0 tonight and dominated the game from start to finish. There was an interesting statistic in the group: Nordsjælland scored 6 goals against us in the previous match. In their second match in the group they scored 7 goals against Ludogorets. But today they finished 3rd in the group and said goodbye to the tournament. Football is a great game with surprising results. That's why I love this game, we think we have some strong predictions before the games, but every game can have different results. This creates excitement and that's the passion of football.
Nordsjaelland getting eliminated, despite having results like 7:1 win vs Ludogorets and 6:1 vs Fenerbahche looks crazy, but they weren't consistent enough in whole group stage.

who is the spanish representative in the europa conference league this season, if there is no spanish representative,
Real Betis wgo finished 3rd in their Europa League group.
524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 23/24 European basketball discussion: Euroleague/BBL/ACB/LegaA/LNB/TBL.. on: December 14, 2023, 10:10:31 PM
Partizan made a great win in Kaunas, first half was almost without mistake in offense, and that was key to secure a win, third in a row
it does look good to see us in top8, with 8-6 score

Zvezda also won against Alba, to break their 4-year long losing strike against one of worst team each season
Maccabi also won their game, against Efes
And looks that it was last game for Kazys Maskvytis as Zalgiris coach, Trinchieri is going to take this role:
https://m.basketnews.com/news-198874-maksvytis-at-risk-of-losing-zalgiris-job-trinchieri-close-to-take-over.html
Not sure about this decision, I think it's not just coach fault, they made many mistakes in this season squad, like selling Brazdeikis just before season and not signing any replacement for him.
They wanted to hire Jasikevicius, offered him big money, but he rejected offere. Trinchieri, not sure about him, he managed Bayern for several years and didn't even won Bundesliga.
Partizan - if they will start getting away wins more frequently, they can think not only about Top 8, but also avoiding play-in spots.
And Baskonia, very disappointed about their performance, got burned my bet.
525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Qualifiers on: December 14, 2023, 09:04:41 PM
Big surprise to see Liverpool being 2-1 down against Royal Union but on the same time they already won the group and they prefer to focus more for EPL games where they lead as well.

Leverkusen once again proves to be a great team and at this point for me they are the favorites to win it all.
I wouldn't call it surprise. Maybe it sounds strange but Union Royale were favorites simply because they needed this win more than Liverpool. While LFC this time gave some rest for their key players. Anyway, win didn't helped Union to qualify as Toulouse won their game.
In general, quite boring last round as almost all games have no importance as most teams which qualified to the next round were already known.
526  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Discussion topic] Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: December 14, 2023, 08:43:07 PM
Online gambling, especially "unregulated" crypto casinos, are banned in so many jurisdictions already. All that needs to happen is Law enforcement turning on the heat on crypto casinos like they have done with exchanges and crypto mixers, and you will see how fast things happen here in the forum.

DDoS services along with signature campaigns and ANNs were banned in a snap a few days back.

I'm surprised that DDoS services was allowed here before. But in general, DDoS is much smaller thing on Bitcointalk than mixers. Like I don't even remember that we ever had signature campaign promoting DDoS service.

That's because DDoS services were already being seized by federal governments, but who is seizing casinos? In fact, governments are not even interested in casinos as long as they aren't used for money laundering - which is pretty much impossible since the majority of them use stringent KYC.
Crypto casinos isn't just about KYC and KYC isn't that thing which makes them legitimate. Many of these casinos promoted on Bitcointalk isn't legal in different jurisdictions or goes into grey zone. Many countries just doesn't accept licenses issued in Curacao and other offshore countries.
527  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ BSFL's Newcastle CL Promo ⭐⚽⭐ on: December 14, 2023, 08:25:41 PM
Thanks Cro2 and Sportsbet for this promotion. I think that I forgot to leave predictions once or twice , but still managed to win something. Also, fact that Newcastle was in death group didn't made predicting easier.
Congrats to all winners!
528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 23/24 European basketball discussion: Euroleague/BBL/ACB/LegaA/LNB/TBL.. on: December 14, 2023, 04:43:31 PM
nice to hear that Rytas has passionate supporters, is it usual practice to have fans in Europe away matches? I really like to see it, especially when it is all in friendly atmosphere

Partizan is playing in Lithuania tonight, and players are welcomed yesterday on airport by basketball fans
will be a good one against Zalgiris, both teams have some team issues with injuries, and hoping for the best after two wins last week

edit: Zvezda is playing Alba at home tonight, and Zvezda have no win over Alba at home in last four seasons, probably only team in Euroleague that can't win over Alba at home
Yeah, they travel to every away game, but usually it's small groups, maybe 10-15 people - some locations in Champions league is hard to reach, it's very far away and there is no direct flights to smaller cities. But this time was special because Rytas Ultras marked their 25 year anniversary.
Zalgiris - Partizan should be interesting. Partizan is struggling away with just 1 win, but good news that LeDay, Nunnally, and Jaramaz will be available for the game. Zalgiris recently have difficult period, they have problems with injuries. They signed Austin Hollins and Edmond Sumner, but IMO it's questionable signings, not sure how much they can help to Zalgiris.
Crvena Zvezda failing to win vs Alba at home for 4 years sounds crazy, but I expect thatthis thing will end today. Bookmakers also are confident about Zvezda, giving 1.17 for thei win.
Baskonia - Virtus sounds like a good game to watch.
529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆Rollbit.com | Champions League Pool | $11,000+ in Prizes ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: December 13, 2023, 10:11:25 PM
Barca, laughing stock, simple blip, or the start of a rot? Biggest prize in Pot B, not many took it Wink

Newcastle did themselves proud, they may have ended up exiting but it was a proper fight to the end, didn't lose to PSG, VAR robbed them and they outplayed Milan on the final day. BVB too, not making it easy despite qualifying. Two close results, on another day I would be happy, but such is football..
It was meaningless game for Barca, not main squad, but no excuses, shameful performance against worst team in CL. And I'm already starting to have doubts about Xavi future because this season trends doesn't looks good. While Antwerp - it looked like they won whole CL.
Porto 5:3 Shakhtar, crazy game with 8 goals and that moment when scoring 3 away goals isn't enough to win game. But in general, Porto controlled game.
While I feel a bit sad for Milan when they're didn't reached next round with 8 points. But someone has to die in such group. And Newcastle, sometimes they were good, but lack of experience in Champions league was visible factor which didn't helped them.
530  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk Founder 13 years and counting of inactivity here on BitcoinTalk on: December 13, 2023, 09:24:00 PM
Just another Satoshi topic... Personally, I don't like such kind of topics because we only can speculate and predict as we don't know almost anything. In these 13 years of inactivity it didn't become clear what happened to Satoshi, whether he is alive or not and etc. I doubt that we will get answer in next 13 years and maybe it will be mystery forever.
531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 23/24 European basketball discussion: Euroleague/BBL/ACB/LegaA/LNB/TBL.. on: December 13, 2023, 08:59:22 PM
So, we have another coach sacked - Fenerbahche said goodbye to Itoudis. It's very unexpected for me, yeah, after win against Real they lost 4 games in a row in Euroleague and Turkish league, but it was all close games lost by few points and they didn't played bad IMO.
Seems that he will be replaced by Sarunas Jasikevicius https://m.basketnews.com/news-198792-sarunas-jasikevicius-nearing-a-deal-with-fenerbahce.html Not surprising chooce, but probably Nick Calathes isn't happy about it at all Cheesy

Don't know how many here follow Champions league, but I want to beag a bit about fans of team that I support - Rytas Vilnius. Yesterday over 350 fans travelled over 1000 km away from home to Opava in Czech Republic tu support team. Too bad that I can't video with their performance in arena, but it was amazing, you rarely can  see such huge road trips in European basketball. They were welcomed warm by friendly locals, beer was cheap and good. My only regret that I wasn't there:

532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆Rollbit.com | Champions League Pool | $11,000+ in Prizes ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: December 13, 2023, 04:49:06 PM
Yesterday I managed to go up a bit after getting 12.6 points in Pool B, what is my best result so far. And I think that I still have stake on 1 game today, though, not with high odds. Got a bit closer to Top 10, but still, 15 points behind, so, it will be difficult to reach it.
Tonight I'm expecting Newcastle to win their game, but they will get eliminated as they won't get positive result from Dortmund - PSG game. Another do or die game is Porto - Shakhtar. Porto is quite big favorite here and draw is enough for them to go further.

Not their reason (we didn't ask) but I understood immediately from my own experience in budgeting and planning that it's a simple case of volatility and accounting, which, like it or not for a corporate entity, needs to be in hard, predictable figures, possibly even in fiat.

An Annual Report of sponsorships would then say: we sponsored $10,000 for this event. That would be true yesterday, today, and 10 years from now. If they'd given Bitcoin, their annual report would say X BTC, worth $10k at escrow date, worth something else at disbursement. If Bitcoin pumps, great, they can boast a bigger dollar value. If not? Then they could only report a sponsorship of a lower value at disbursement.
Yeah, from business perspective it really makes sense, in this way it's easier to plan their budgets. And for us, players, maybe it's more exciting to get prize in the end of season wehen Bitcoin went up by 30%, but now when it's fixed in $ we know what we will get. And protected from that cases when Bitcoin goes down significantly, we won't get less than $100 for example.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆Rollbit.com | Champions League Pool | $11,000+ in Prizes ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: December 12, 2023, 09:55:18 PM
Europa league will have new winner as Sevilla finished last in group. This season they're looking just terrible both in Europe and Spain.
United is just useless, they weren't capable to do anything against Bayer - team for which this game is meaningles. Furthermore, they also didn't got positive result from other game and Copenhagen qualifies to next round.
And thank you Ceballos for saving my bet with that late goal that brings win for Real Cheesy.
534  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Tucker Carlson Launches New Subscription-Based Site on: December 12, 2023, 08:57:43 PM
Perhaps it is because I am not a political comentator super star like Tucker is, but I do not understand why he would not just go and take those offers which had already been offered to him by companies like Newsmax. I believe he would do very well there and he is already accustomed to having a format for that kind of organization.
He may not be trying to get back in the status quo but rather start something big by his own, who knows...
It depends on what is really what he wants to achieve, if he wanted to fully influence on USA politics, he could go back to cable networks, for now he seems rather focused on getting some money.
I guess that he want to be independent and say whatever he wants. Yeah, probably he would fit well on Newsmax, but one day he can say something what owners doesn't like and he will be cancelked. Because Carlson was doing well on Fox for long time until he got sacked.
Love him or hate, but Tuckers Carlson name probably is big enough to be independent. And yeah, wouldn't be surprised if one day he will go to elections with Republicans.
535  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: December 12, 2023, 08:22:33 PM
Ukraine doesn’t produce artillery shells at all and spends 5,000 shells a day, doesn’t anything bother you about this strategy? Grin

Both of those statements are wrong.
Ukraine produce artillery shells, but it's tiny numbers, maybe up to 1000-2000, while they're using similar amounts just in one day.
BTW, there isn't much talk about it, but South Korea suppoied more shells to Ukraine than all EU countries combined. Impressive from Korean perspective, sad from European:
https://m-en.yna.co.kr/view/AEN20231205000300315
Russia producing 85 000 shells is impressive, but when you're spending whole month production in 4-5 days, that's probably not something to brag about.
536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆Rollbit.com | Champions League Pool | $11,000+ in Prizes ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: December 12, 2023, 04:22:58 PM
Don't have much expectations to achieve something in Pot B, so, went with boring predictions again. But probably will end with less than 10 points again Cheesy.
Can't wait for Group A finish. Don't expect lucky outcome for MU, Baayern should be angry after shameful defeat in Bundesliga. While Copenhagen - Galatasaray game is golden chance for one of teams to reach next round, it's really hard to predict something here.
PSV - Arsenal and Real Sociedad - Inter sounds nice, but in general, don't have big importance as both teams already qualified. Sevilla is probably going to end their European journey even without spot in Europa League as they have to win away vs Lens.

In the playoffs it is really difficult to seriously improve your position, but still there will be 29 games ahead, which is from 0 to 87 points, so even if someone is more successful in guessing the exact scores, then only with this can you win back 10-20 points. If you take risks and guess the wins of the underdogs/draws, then the increase in points can be even greater, in fact, many participants still have a chance.
With less games remaining it will be more difficult to improve your position, but still, possible. Though, you not only have to be lucky with your predictions but also that your opponents above wouldn't do very well.
537  Economy / Reputation / Re: My 10 Year ( and some days) Bitcointalk Anniversary on: December 11, 2023, 08:56:43 PM
Congratulations with reaching 10 years milestone! It's long journey. Back then when you joined Bitcointalk, probably you didn't expected that you will spend so much time here.
You're old time member, but I'm a bit surprised that I don't remember your name and probably I haven't interacted with you before. It's probably because you spend most of time on Italian and Collectibles boards.
And your first post looks good, especially considering that it was 2013 when there weren't so much information for beginners.
538  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Politicians who accept ₿? on: December 11, 2023, 08:20:31 PM
Donating my Bitcoins politicians - that's probably last place where I would like to spend my BTC. Yeah, laws allows to donate money to politicians for their election campaign, but considering level of corruption, they already took more than enough taxpayers money that they would need for donations.
Speaking about my country, I didn't hear any politician accepting Bitcoin donations. I'm not even sure that they're legally allowed to accept donations in crypto.
539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: December 11, 2023, 08:08:35 PM
Lost all my SB balance. Good teach me a lesson.

I want to be the first to say this. Xavi was absolutely spot on although I wish he didn't say it publicly before playing against them!! If Girona win, they deserve it. Beat us so badly we need to go nd hide our faces, we didn't even have importance in the next Champions League game but still failed. Lewandowski scoring was probably a sign lol

Not entire ballance, but lost big yesterday. Painful loss, but Girona deserved to win. They turned all Barca mistakes in defense into goals.
Now we're 7 points behind Girona. Not end of world, but so far team aren't showing confidence which would let us fight for title. While Girona, I don't know how long they will continue what they're doing, but now they're most fun team to watch in La Liga and maybe in whole Europe.
540  Economy / Reputation / Re: BlackHatCoiner decided to take a leave from bitcointalk on: December 10, 2023, 06:45:43 PM
It's sad that another well known Bitcointalk member left forum. His time was relatively short here after signing up just in 2020, but he definitely left his mark on Bitcointalk
To @BlackHatCoiner if you're reading, good luck in your life outside forum and maybe you will return here one day!

He left the forum during theymos announce mixers to be banned, he's also someone who really care about privacy, so I believe that's should be the reason.
He said that he don't want to disclose reasons why he left. So, I think we should respect his decision and there is no need to look for reasons why he left or make conspiracy theories.

I do prefer a short "Goodbye" post over just disappearing, and making us wonder if he got hit by a bus. Cya BlackHatCoiner!
Yeah, Bitcointalk members aren't obligated to announce that they're leaving, but it's nice that some of them are doing it. There is simply too many members who left forum mysteriously without any prior signs and intentions to do that and it makes us think what happened to them.
