5301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is banned on: February 05, 2017, 05:08:21 PM
How can bitcoin become global when not so few countries, including Russia and China, ban it?

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/the-russian-bitcoin-ban-is-on-indefinite-hold/

And all of the sadly news have released by the chinese are totally bullshit. Don't bring yourself into all of the FUD, dude. May you see venezuela?

i wouldn't trust anything that cryptocoinsnews says, they are known liars and in the past i have seen enough lies from them to ignore all their articles.

if you want to talk about any country or get any information about them, seek reliable sources. even wikipedia has better updates sources:
such as this link which was repeated a couple of times here.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country

p.s. in case of this news they seem to be correct.
5302  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin worth? Welcome to discuss on: February 05, 2017, 04:41:09 PM
I really want to see the guy who said bitcoin is worthless. Please ask him to send all his bitcoins to you or me. However, that person did not say anything wrong technically. Because bitcoin is computer generated coin which holds no value literally.

some people have a hard time grasping what bitcoin is, so only because bitcoin is different than their  old fiat currency and it is working in different ways, they have a hard time understanding why it has value.

these people eventually will accept the facts when they see bitcoin used in real world application. for example if someday they can buy groceries with bitcoin or pay for something online with bitcoin instead of their credit cards.
5303  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Mass Adoption even possible.. on: February 05, 2017, 04:36:19 PM
It's relative. Investors determine the price and mass adoption is how sad it sounds part of what the market wants... in this case the investors.

the only things that can affect the mass adoption are the ability of bitcoin to handle the large number of transactions. and then it is the willingness of the investors to spend bitcoin or just trade it. and as long as they are not spending, no mass adoption and no merchant is coming in.
5304  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How people can have so much BTC in their wallet? on: February 04, 2017, 04:06:05 PM
people having large amounts of bitcoin is nothing strange. it is like saying how someone owns a lot of Apple shares or Google shares. they invested lots of money and many bought when it was cheap.

it is the same with bitcoin. you could have bought bitcoin when it was cheap. a year ago it was $420 and you could have easily bought a lot of bitcoins.

but gambling that much away is hard to believe part if you ask me, and since OP says he saw it on a gambling site i say it is always hard to believe that is a real person behind that account with 30+bitcoin wasting them.
5305  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it still worth it to trade? on: February 04, 2017, 03:57:23 PM
I wonder if someone still should get into trading Bitcoin at this point? There was a time with incredible aggresive swings so that daytrading was interesting, but now the movements appear but much slower. Is it still worth it to trade?

have you ever done day trading yourself?
i think if you had done it you would have known that it is still good and profitable to day trade even if there isn't big swings around in the market.
bitcoin is not yet there. and the stability you see from time to time is temporary because people want time to accumulate without causing the price to go much higher than the level they are comfortable buying at.
5306  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin value is returned to 1000$ again on: February 04, 2017, 03:50:41 PM
btc-e still is resisting and is at $990 right now.

Now price could go either way, but float around $1000 is something that makes me kinda nervous

btc-e is always behind, whenever there is a rise and you check btc-e price it is at least $20 and sometimes even $50 behind of other places and it takes a lot of time to get even.

and to this day i have not found out why! although i have asked around and never got any good answers.

so if anyone has any good hypothesis let me know.
5307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 65214 Unconfirmed Transactions on: February 04, 2017, 03:44:12 PM
I think normally, do not directly create transaction but I found it was not as slow as you say
( I test today)

it is never slow if you pay higher fee than other people. it is like a competition. i pay 100 satoshi per byte and you pay 110 for example and obviously miners will pick you over me. and if a third guy comes and pays 120 he will be chosen and so on. now imagine there are 10,000 transactions with higher fees than yours that you have to compete with.
5308  Economy / Economics / Re: [Poll] Gold vs. Bitcoin as an Investment - What’s Better? on: February 04, 2017, 03:37:57 PM
bitcoin and gold. i can not choose only one of them.
bitcoin for obvious reasons and the fact that it can go up a lot in the following years because of its mass adoption.

and gold because i can easily buy and hold it and be sure that it is not going to lose much value even if price goes down.

and also altcoins. but the difference is that i never hold altcoins, i just trade them short term.
5309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin value is returned to 1000$ again on: February 04, 2017, 03:31:37 PM
most of the times bitcoin price is like a spring that is forcefully pressed down and kept down. and as soon as you let go of it by removing that preventing force the spring, springs up Smiley

price was kept down at 910-920 range for a while but they let it go and surely enough the demand which has always been there pushed it up to above $1000 and this time it has a much better chance of staying above it.
5310  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Every Country Needs Bitcoin Payment Processors on: February 03, 2017, 05:01:53 PM
first  we need more people knowing about bitcoin.
second we need most of these people become more and more willing to spend bitcoin instead of just hoarding it and trading it.

then the merchants will automatically increase in numbers, and as a result someone would make a payment processor to handle all the requests.

if you make a payment processor and there is no merchants you fail.
if there is merchants but there are no user who is willing to spend then you fail again.
5311  Economy / Speculation / Re: Apparently the flash crash was fueled by Bitcurex hack rumors on: February 03, 2017, 04:33:04 PM
We saw a flash crash from $1024 to $986, then we are back to $1015. This could have been triggered by the fact that apparently Bitcurex went offline and 2300 BTC disappeared, flash crash happened, then we are recovered.

http://www.econotimes.com/Bitcurex-exchange-disappears-with-2300-bitcoins-522042
This proves that BTC can now recover quick from injuries. Nothing can stop this rise.

actually it doesn't prove that, it only proves that right now we are on the rise and nothing can stop this current rise from happening. not even an exchange hack.

and trust me if this would have happened 3 days ago price would have gone down and stayed there for a while.

in bitcoin the news itself doesn't matter at all. but when the news comes out is important.

do you think the Chinese PBOC drama is over? obviously not they are still under investigation but nobody talks about it because it is pointless for their FUD.
5312  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you use a bot for trading? on: February 03, 2017, 04:27:35 PM
Long time ago I downloaded a Python bot from Github, but I found it is difficult to configurate that bot. So I had to give it up. I always use my hand trading, which is more smart and accurate judgement by my smart brain, but slower than bot trading. I adapt trading without bot.

a bot on github means it was open source, and in my experience the open source bots are not that good to begin with, mostly because those that i checked a while back that i was searching for bots were all bad with minimal features.

and besides these bots are good if you know the programming language yourself and want to start your own bot, you can start these to have some starting ground.
5313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More than 50,000 unconfirmed transactions on: February 03, 2017, 04:16:33 PM
this really is a terrible figure
this too inconvenient, I think it should be addressed immediately
market stalled
I have recently sent some bitcoin with around 70 satoshi per byte fee and it get confirmed within next 2 blocks. So whenever there will be attack on bitcoin network or whenever there will be lots of unconfirmed transactions in mempool just include high fee per byte than it will went through smoothly.

you got lucky because 70 satoshi per byte was too low today almost half what is supposed to be according to that 21.co fee site. i had a transaction with low fees (about the same 70-80 satoshi per bytes) today at it took me about 5 hours to see a confirmation.
5314  Economy / Speculation / Re: it IS time for rise on: February 03, 2017, 04:07:21 PM
so far my speculation was mostly correct.
price went past $1000 and then continued going higher. and although i wasn't expecting a drop below $1000 at all (the fast downward movement a couple of hours ago) but so far we are on point with the rise and on the upward movement.

i will wait for a couple of days to see how correct i am about my high and low levels and try to add another updated chart from the real price after couple of days and my initial (poorly) drawn price.
5315  Economy / Speculation / Re: Say bye to Triple Digits on: February 03, 2017, 04:00:21 PM
A year ago, reaching 1000 is already moon to me. Now that it is here, I think I want more.

It have been steadily above 1000 for  almost a day now. I was waiting for the dump but it never came. Maybe the profit was still too small. It may never go to the moon yet, but we can consider this as our new low.

even a year ago i wasn't calling $1000 moon.
from the start when i came to know bitcoin , i knew that bitcoin price is going to very high values.
even $1000 is still too little and too far from the real potential of this coin.

many say $10,000 but i don't like that speculation much. instead i do believe in a 4 to $5000 price.
5316  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is there any advertising network like A-Ads that accepts blogs? on: February 02, 2017, 05:03:15 PM
I can assure you that most networks, including MellowAds require an Alexa rank of over 1.5 million, which takes 50,000 or so impressions a month.

A-Ads is one of the best that have low requirements. If wanting to mix advertisments with BTC gained off page visits rather than only originating from clicks then the two mentioned you could mix and calculate what affiliate programs can boost income potential.

Overall, looking at who's advertising onto banners will lead you to going direct until built up enough to get through the application process.

they do NOT accept free blogs, and that is the problem.
i am not worried about alexa rank if it was only that, i would have made it. and although i am new to this, my blog already has 42K visits and it is about 2 months old.

and what you said about a-ads is not going to work. the affiliate program only works if they click and sign up and pay to advertise with their network. and people usually don't do that!
5317  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you always missed the right time to sell/buy bitcoin? on: February 02, 2017, 04:57:19 PM
Yes missed 1-2 times, for selling. Fear made me do that, and also listening to others. So listen to yourself, keep track of the world movements.
But I do not have regret for selling it faster because I reached my estimated goal, but who don't want to get more Tongue Smiley

this is because you have to choose one method only. you are either a trader who is daily making profit from fluctuations or you have to be a long term holder who buys low and holds for a long time no matter what happens for price in short term.

most people buy and go long, but mid way change their mind ending up failing bad.
5318  Economy / Speculation / Re: If we break $1000, are we going to see another ATH? on: February 02, 2017, 04:37:01 PM
Or are we just going to reach the current ATH at around $1160? What are you guys thinking? I've seen $1025 thrown around alot as a target for a pull back.

it is hard to talk about the ATH at this point, the buy support seems to be good right now and we have been rising with a good speed.
on top of that around $920 had a decent amount of time, and that helped with the accumulation. however we still need to see above $1000 and how supports are going to be then, to give any opinion about the future.

i myself expect 1050 and then playing around above $1000 for a while before the ATH to have another nice shake out.
5319  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we make more money? on: February 02, 2017, 04:28:20 PM
only by being wise!

there is no other way around it. you can work hard and over time and earn money but you can never earn more money and get rich.
for that you need to act wise. this can be being wise in the job you are working, or it can be generally the choices you make, and the investments you make.
for example many have become millionaires with buying bitcoin at $10 a long time ago.
5320  Economy / Speculation / Re: it IS time for rise on: February 02, 2017, 04:17:59 PM
Nice improvement chart edited, I hope it will come true as soon as possible and based on the current price fluctuations, we may have $1000 floor in this week. Again, I'm wondering about how long it could last as too many daily traders in every country waiting for it, to sell out their coins. $1000 is easy but to hold it steady at this level? Another story. Only investors could make it happen imo.

the edit is as fast as the topic itself, it was so fast you can't even see the underline indicating the edit Wink

and about the day traders i have to say they are not waiting for a particular price to sell, that would be foolish. as a day trader you always have a certain percentage profit in your mind, and sell/buy at those prices. it is always buy in dip sell on highs.
and also when price is rising like this, usually they increase the percentage and wait to see where is the high. again not having a particular number in mind.
