541  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DO NOT plug random cables and sticks into your device. on: February 06, 2024, 12:49:06 PM
Why should anyone carry their laptop with them when they are travelling? This make me question as if some one is sane enough they would not carry their laptop that has crypto wallets. Everything that is being discussed in this thread are most probably kits that anyone would encounter in public. The reason being that the list have most of those cables or sticks that are common when you use them when in public.

Why not carry hardware which is owned by you and that does not require using public tools. The article is all about safeguarding anyone who is using electronic tools and not personal. This is the reality in countries that are developed and not in countries where such infrastructure is limited or non existent. It is very evident as these things are not available in my country.

snip..

You just relax and let Rohit and Dravid decide who they will need in the third test  Cheesy

The first semifinals of the U-19 WC are currently going and it is between India and South Africa. India won the toss and chose to bowl first, I assume the condition suited bowling as before the 10th over they were able to take 2 wickets. Then it got slow paced as South African batters were looking to save their wickets than scoring runs. Ultimately the South Africans managed to get a total of 244 runs after losing 7 wickets. I never expected a low total considering that it is a semifinal match and considering these are teens who want to prove themselves.

The Indian team if they bat well as they have done in the entire tournament would be able to chase the total. I do not think it should be a problem for these kids and there are a few guys in the team who are the future of Indian cricket. I won't be surprised if a few of them are hired by the IPL franchise in the next IPL season which would be great to see them competing with the seniors.

543  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Argentina to Pressure Citizens on Declaring Their Crypto on: February 06, 2024, 11:44:22 AM
https://news.bitcoin.com/argentine-government-drops-crypto-legalizing-opportunity-from-omnibus-bill/
"The Argentine government, presided by Javier Milei, has resolved to drop the tax opportunities for crypto in the omnibus bill presented to Congress. The bill allowed taxpayers to declare the ownership of some previously undeclared assets, with crypto also included, reducing the payments and fees for this task.

Argentine Government Excludes Crypto Opportunities From Omnibus Bill
The Argentine government has withdrawn the opportunities for declaring ownership of certain assets, including crypto, from the omnibus bill presented to Congress this month. The bill, titled “Law of Bases and Starting Points for the Freedom of Argentines,” seeks to advance reforms in several areas, including getting legislative powers for President Javier Milei, who could take action directly in several fields, sidestepping Congress."

This guy Javier Milei is kind of weird, he is coming up with policies that should either destroy the country or save it. First, he tries to implement a policy in a country that is ranked 98th most corrupt nation then he takes only 20 days to take it back. He would have eventually realized that he was going after the rich or the elite. I doubt apart from the rich and elite there would be others investing in cryptocurrencies in that country. He would have also realized that these guys can bribe the officials to not investigate them if they do not declare their assets in crypto or stocks.

What he will now do is come up with a harsher policy to tax the rich and elites who are hiding their funds. That will mean he would need to implement a regulation around it. Seeking reforms using policies and regulations never works unless you handle corruption, he needs to first focus on that area of concern and then think about generating revenue through tax for his country

544  Local / India / Re: Beware! Gov Planning a Cracks Down on Crypto Traders Evading Binance Ban on: February 06, 2024, 10:36:33 AM
The situation is going from bad to worse, why can't the government allow Binance to operate until they set up their infrastructure according to their rules? They are not saying they won't follow the policy, they need some time and in the meantime, they want to operate. They are willing to pay taxes and fines according to the articles but our government is not nudging. I believe that only Binance has responded to the government's ban on cryptocurrency, while other exchanges have ignored it altogether. This may have angered the government, and they are now directing their frustration towards the only exchange that is complying with their demands.

It is better to stay away from Binance until this issue gets resolved or someone might lose their bank account. I am planning to shift to a different international exchange which is not banned in India and has a decent amount of volume. Anyone here who can suggest a name? BTW, I was having a discussion with zasad@ on a topic in the forum he suggested I check this link - https://www.bestchange.ru/tether-trc20-to-dollar-cash-in-dlh.html

I did check it and found that it is working but the exchange rate is not that good. Anyone living in Delhi, Mumbai, or Kolkata can deal in cash for others who do not live in these three cities they can do UPI payment.
545  Local / India / Re: India cricket Discussion and predictions [self-mod] on: February 05, 2024, 05:04:15 PM
A good comeback by India, thanks to Bhumrah wo took 6 wickets in the first innings and 3 in the second. We saw a sudden burst of unrealistic batting from Jaiswal with a double hundred and then from Gill with a hundred. It was a good game of cricket which showed that Indian team does have potential without any seniors. Out of 5 matches we have already seen 2 and 3 more to go.

India's batting doesn't look so good, Iyer is not working, Bharath is a pain in the wrong zone, Rohit is not working and to an extent only one batter works. Why is there so much discrepancy in the batting considering the amount of runs being scored by batters. There is a need to have consistency that is not to be seen. I feel that it might hurt the Indian team in the next test, if they don't work on it.
546  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please I need guid to set-up Electron wallet on: February 04, 2024, 12:19:20 PM
Hello! @Pi-network314159

I am sure that you are using your mobile phone to access the Electrum wallet. Please check whether the Android version supports the latest version of Electrum Wallet. Then check whether your internet service provider is blocking your access to the wallet or not. Next, check if your mobile phone has high-security measures and does not have a firewall, if not then do check your settings once for internet access. If you have downloaded the SDK version on your mobile phone then you would face such issues if not then reply to my reply.
547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the biggest airdrop you've ever received? on: February 04, 2024, 12:00:52 PM
I was part of the ICP airdrop which helped in a time when I was busy applying airdrops. If I remember it correctly it was in 2018 when I subscribed to their airdrop which became controversial when their intermediary an online wallet provider was charging $10 to become a recipient of their airdrop. I do not remember the name of the intermediatory as it has been a long now, what I do remember is that the first airdrop after listing was valued at $500 and subsequently, it came down to $50 in 12 months. The airdrop was designed so that you receive an equal number of tokens every month for 12 months which was okay for me as it was free money.

Yes, there was a time when you could cherish the airdrop you get. Now, it is not worth it as it has many more obligations such as a user would need to first invest money to qualify for it. Earlier it was far easier than what it is now and in the future, it will become worse. It is better to stay away from any airdrops as they are not worthy enough and are more sort of a gamble as per my understanding.
548  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: SRC-20 vs BRC-20 on: February 04, 2024, 11:40:03 AM
Because it is not a Bitcoin related topic as it is not part of the Bitcoin protocol.
These are arbitrary names that a centralized platform is giving the junk data they inject into the bitcoin blockchain by exploiting the protocol.

How can they be different while they are using the main chain? Please explain as your reply does not have any significance, if it is promoted by an exchange or any other entity it is still using the main chain. This means another congestion in the making, yesterday there was sudden congestion and it is now becoming a new normal for the community with this garbage and the other.

Again the question that always comes to my mind whenever I see something like this is, why can't the developers increase the block size? They did it in the past and now they are reluctant to do it while they are busy allowing these tokens to congest the network. This is not what anyone expected from Bitcoin as we believed it to be a single unique entity without the influence of another cryptocurrency ecosystem.
549  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Nigeria unbans cryptocurrency on: February 04, 2024, 11:10:41 AM
This is a service for Russians who do not know India and local crypto exchanges. I am sure that these services use the right exchanges in India and make good money on the difference between the prices on the exchanges and their prices. But they help transfer money from Russia and other countries to India without registration and other problems.

They are making a good amount as the exchange rate for USD on Indian exchanges is very good. I am quoting an example here the rate generally varies from INR 89 to INR 90 to 1 USD. However, when I checked the link they were offering INR 73 for 1 USD. So, the difference is INR 16 to INR 17 which is quite good money if the volumes are high. Since they are based in some major metropolitan cities in India and are still working, I assume they are getting good profits.
550  Local / India / Re: India cricket Discussion and predictions [self-mod] on: February 04, 2024, 10:54:23 AM
I think there is some kind of disease that has groped in Indian batter from this test series. The disease name is not able to bat, look at the scoreboard in the second innings, Shubhman Gill and Axar Patel are the only two batters who got decent runs. In the first innings, it was Yasahvi Jaiswal who added 209 runs scoreboard for a total of 396 runs. This syndrome was recently detected after the test series started, the worst is the Captain of the Indian side who has now become a controversial star on social media because of his foul language as he is the godfather of every player. He has been poor with his fielding placement and he is not able to control his temper to add to his misery he is also infected with the same disease.

It is time he should say goodbye to cricket and stay at home with his family. One of the biggest failures today was the way the bowlers batted. All three after Ashwin was dismissed for a duck, do not forget that these are the highest-paid players in the world. They get paid by BCCI handsomely and they have IPL and in the end, they have personal endorsement. I hope these clowns win the second test otherwise a lot of them would have to become commentators like Murli Karthik and that stupid old hag Sanjay Manjerekar.
551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: VanEck, GrayScale, Fidelity and others Now on Google Ads. on: February 03, 2024, 12:50:30 PM

I don't know if another user has beat me to this, but I am particularly happy to announce to the bitcoin community that VanEck, GrayScale, Fidelity and some other fund manager have started advertising their bitcoin spot ETFs on google as seen in the screenshot above.

I don't know what or how you guys perceive this, but I am particularly bullish on this one, I think the coming bull run will be massive, another opportunity for us all the generate life changing profits, I hope we all are well positioned???  No one should miss this coming bull run for whatever reason.

https://twitter.com/BitcoinMagazine/status/1752822112899805269?s=19

Yes, you are late there was a topic created already on this news in December last year: Google is preparing for Spot Bitcoin ETF

The next thing that you should do is reduce the image size as it is too big, please use PNG images to not overload the server and always keep the size small. A JPEG image and being full-sized as you posted overloads the server. I too times forget to convert JPEG images to PNG, but I ensure that the image size always remains small.

After seeing the above ads, I feel we are seeing free marketing of Bitcoin rather than Bitcoin ETFs. People who are not aware of Bitcoin would now first search about Bitcoin first then search about Bitcoin ETFs. I consider it a win-win situation for Bitcoin as it will help Bitcoin in reaching where Satoshi dreamed.
552  Other / Meta / Re: Where can I post invite codes? on: February 03, 2024, 12:36:01 PM
Is there a place on this forum, or elsewhere, where I can post my invite codes for crypto projects, without it getting taken down?

I posted in Project Development but my post was silently deleted or something.

What do you mean by invite code, are they affiliate links, referral links, or promotion links? Please be specific as if they are any of the three then you can only use your signature to post it. As your account rank is Newbie you won't have the privilege to use your signature space. A rank of a Member does allow you to use the signature space, but that will need you to get 10 merits and some activities.

The other alternative for you is to create an announcement page for your project depending on what your project is all about on the relevant board. If you want to add images on the announcement page then you can buy the Copper Membership and if not then you can leave your invitation code on the announcement page. I would recommend you buy a Copper Membership as users here would not click on your invitation code due to your account rank which is a trust issue.
553  Local / India / Re: Paytm Bank will no longer operate starting from March 1. on: February 03, 2024, 12:11:49 PM
This is an important piece of news you have shared @Bitcoin Smith, please move it to the News Child board. I do not think it is relevant to the main board as we do not want the main board to discuss a Bank getting ripped by an RBI. I conclude that PayTM itself has been on scanners of the government authorities as it has a huge chunk of investment from a Chinese bank. I am a regular user of its UPI service and pay many of my bills using its interface, but I have never subscribed to its banking, which is kind of strange to me as I do not consider it a bank. I have the same attitude towards Airtel Bank as I still feel it is better to use its mobile service rather using its banking services as such issues might arise with them in the future.
554  Local / India / Re: India cricket Discussion and predictions [self-mod] on: February 03, 2024, 12:04:13 PM
I have a bad feeling that this series is going to end a couple of careers or at least they'll be dropped or might discover a niggle/back spasm soon (unofficial definition of drop from the team). lol

Just be straight and say the names bro. Cheesy

Gill and Iyer are at their verge of their test career, one more inning ahead of them to save their progress and I believe this won't affect the white ball career but definitely a lot of players are in the competition with good domestic records to finds an opportunity and this might be the chance to bring new talents to the red ball format if the existing players fail.

I do feel the same Gill and Iyer may be playing their last test and Jaiswal will get onboarded for quite a long time. I was delighted today to see Bhumrah in action, the ball that he bowled to Pope was out of this world. How can someone bowl a ball which is not at all playable to any batter in the world? This is what is called Bazball and it was one of the best yorkers I have seen from Bhumrah. The next one was when Ben Stokes was bowled by him, how the hell was that ball kept so low? Ben Stokes was completely confused with the delivery! Overall 6 wickets today by Bhumrah and a solid 200 runs by Jiaswal helped India to still lead the test on day 2 by 171 runs.
555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be stolen? on: February 02, 2024, 04:01:32 PM
Can gold be stolen? If your answer is yes then Bitcoin can be stolen. Bitcoin has become a commodity and stealing commodity is a history, this time it is a digital commodity that is being gathered by those who can afford to buy it. There is nothing wrong when I look back at the ways Kings and the lords used their influence to buy gold. In a similar manner with different abbreviations in today's world Bitcoin is being bought and kept in a secure vault like gold used to be kept for the future. Those who are trying to steal Bitcoin should not be called as scammers, they should be denominated as BTCpirates.
556  Local / India / Re: Everything is becoming shitty with the local board. on: February 02, 2024, 12:29:47 PM
Thanks, everyone for replying to my thread, I appreciate what you have written and it does help me. I have been here trying to revive this board and trying my level best to increase engagement. It has been hard and it has been a difficult journey as I am the one who has been the most active member of this local board for a few years now. I have put all my efforts and I have put a lot of time into trying to achieve what other top boards are doing. It has been tough but it has been soothing to see new faces here from early 2023.

I have a few plans that might make the local board more active. I am working on it and as soon as I achieve a goal that has been set by me, I will apply for Merit source. I never planned this, but Heisenberg_Hunter DMed me which pumped me mentally to think whether I can be one of them. It has been 5 years now that I have been active on this forum with the support of you guys I might get it.

P.S. I gave away all the sMerits that I earned through this thread. Please utilize your merits for those who deserve it on the local board. There are a few posts that I felt deserving of under the present circumstances and I could not as I was out of sMerits.

557  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Nigeria unbans cryptocurrency on: February 02, 2024, 12:10:34 PM
When a Russian comes to another country, the first thing he does is look for partners where he can exchange cryptocurrency. Several Russian exchangers operate in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata
https://www.bestchange.ru/tether-trc20-to-dollar-cash-in-dlh.html
There are thousands of reviews on bestchange.

Great! I was not aware of it and I assumed none were dealing in cryptocurrencies in India. I did check your link and found multiple options available to get paid in India without the interference of anyone. What I did not understand is why the local currency exchange rates are so low as there are other resources available that give a good exchange rate of local currency. By other resources, I meant those international exchanges that run their P2P service and those that did not get shadow banned by the government like Hodl Hodl and others.
558  Other / Meta / Re: If I'm Satoshi Nakamoto How do I prove it? on: February 02, 2024, 12:04:01 PM
If someone is Satoshi then he doesn't need to prove that he's Satoshi. Like Elon Musk doesn't needs to prove that he's Elon Musk even if he disappears for 10 years. During that time 100's of people can use Fake AI generated videos by claiming that they're Elon Musk but no one trust them, however when he reappears then he doesn't need to prove that he's the real Elon Musk.

You gave a bad example as you are comparing Satoshi who is anonymous to someone who is not. Fake AI generated videos are still circulating at large while he is still in the public eye. They are not so good now whereas they will be unrecognizable in the coming 10 years. This makes me question why would he leave the limelight that he has now and come back after 10 years only to be part of the limelight again Grin.

Besides opening one of the wallets.
Aside from just saying I am like Craig Wright.
Would an original Whitepaper doc be sufficient or do you think that there would still be critics? I know there would still be critics, Im just asking what do all of you folks think?
If Satoshi can produce such a document would it harm the value of BTC or increase said value?
I personally don't think it matters much, but I've never been the type to make a big deal of anything.  If Satoshi was to come out of the darkness and into the light what would it matter?
Please refrain from any form of free speech that offends anyone on here.  Lol BTC

I have read your responses, and it seems to me that you are intentionally trying to provoke or upset others online, which is commonly referred to as being a troll. I also suspect your account is an alt account as it is evident you know where to post and the way you are replying to replies of forum members. Please remember that Satoshi is long gone and we do not want someone in the forum trying to prove he is Satoshi. We have already seen the drama of faketoshi. None of us are interested in the same show again.

Why don't you come up with an idea to fake the identity of one of the private coin developers? I would love to see that drama as it will keep me more engaged in a discussion than this post of yours will do.
559  Local / India / Re: India cricket Discussion and predictions [self-mod] on: February 02, 2024, 09:58:17 AM
Jaiswal at his best today nearing his 150 while all others losing their wickets before they reach their 40. The scoreboard looks good but the wickets look bad as India has lot 4 important wickets on day 1. A few more hours and the day will finished, a score of 250 to 290 would look better and yes wickets should not fall anymore today. Spinners are ruling on the first day and the wicket is helping them to an extent.

Indian U19 team is also playing today against Nepal U-19 and they are batting first. They to have lost 3 wickets, knowing the Indian team they would easily win the game.
560  Local / India / Everything is becoming shitty with the local board. on: February 01, 2024, 01:45:50 PM
This is a vent post to allow my frustrations to go out. Please do not think of it as a finger point out to anyone.

I have been active and trying and trying, I have tried my level best to organize this board. The problem lies within everyone as everyone is busy with their problems. Thanks to the fucking government we are all going to lose money more cause of the shadow ban. There is only one question that comes to my mind as a crypto investor and a signature campaign member. Am I going to elect the same government for the next 5 years term, obviously yes, as we don't have a good opposition. We only have a corrupt opposition that we are aware and it is known to everyone residing in India.

The problem is that nothing can be changed with the way the government is operating. The solution is that we a few active members get an extra income through a signature campaign, though, we would know how to utilize a campaign reward every week. The next problem is that we as an Indian community don't get selected so easily into a campaign as we are not technically sound.

Merit givers or merit sources are not to be seen., why? As they don't consider our replies worth enough, Is it because we are not worthy enough or the first or they do not consider us suitable to get merits?  I wonder why they are not responding to posts and assume they are busy with their own problems, but will it continue?

Looking forward to your replies and suggestions!
