2. The one relative who drinks to much and is totally wasted like 15.00 (3pm)..

I'm that relative. In fact I've been drunk since the 23rd evening. I will be totally wasted non stop until the 25th night.

Otherwise, what's the purpose?

Aquavit for breakfast!

Well hell... I thought I could just keep watching this thread without comment, but it grows more painful.

The problem is you are trying to put MP into your world, and MP and his creations exist in his world. In other words, you lack the MP-ethos to assess the criteria for judgement.

MP-ethos? Give this a read for starters - http://trilema.com/2012/gpg-contracts/

Whether you agree or disagree is moot. As stated in the link, "and so rationally my best choice is to actually live up to the deal, whatever it may be." - However, the deal has already been defined and MP is simple living "up to the deal".

If you don't agree? That's fine, that simple means, in the MP-ethos, that you give MP negative trust. End of story.

Boys, we struck gold! ... Comedy gold.

Let me see if I get this right: in order to fairly judge the actions of the website owner, I first need to read his personal delusional rant treatise on morality?

Sure. Makes perfect sense to me.

"Dear society! You might think I'm guilty of theft, but in reality I'm just following my own rigorously laid out moral framework. Don't you judge me according to your boring old conventional ideas of what is right and wrong... that shit simply doesn't apply here."

Mircea popescu is very well known for this kind of attitude, someone willingly trusting his money to a service operated by Mircea (such as BitBet) should be ready to face the consequences.

And ignorance is not an excuse in my book, one should investigate who is behind a certain service before trusting their hard earned money to a third party.

Plus, most of services Mircea operates are illegal in Romania. His public identity is very well known. If somebody feels he has been scammed just report him.

I spent $15,000 & 10 BTC on a Jupiter 41 days ago.

Am I supposed to keep mining even though I'll be seeing red soon enough?
What are you miners doing to keep your spirits up?  I'm seeing my bill go up and my wallet go down right now.

Tumultuous times.  I am sure we'll see a bounce back, but the uncertainty makes it hard, especially when I don't exactly have cash to spare...

How are all the big miners handling this downswing?
Down sizing your hash rate?

Are you joking? Your Jupiter is mining 0.23 BTC per day at current difficulty, which considering an exchange rate of $600 per BTC is roughly $140 dollars per day.

The electricity cost of running a Jupiter is between $2 and $3 per day depending on your rate. How can you say that you'll be seeing red soon? Running a Jupiter is still wildly profitable.

Anyhow, you paid too much - you won't break even on that.
566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This girl is really dedicated to bitcoin... [NSFW Image] on: December 24, 2013, 10:58:52 AM
Her tattoo works because I zoomed in on the code on my monitor (pic of her laying on her side) and then used my phone and sent .0001 BTC just to test it.

I'm in love with this girl...I'm sure I'm not alone.  But you can't see her face, so easy to subconsciously ideallize her.  Body looks incredible from those two angles though.  Lucky dude who got her although who knows what kind of gf she is.

Incredible body? Really? I know you have an obesity problem in the US, but come on it cannot be that bad....

That chick's body looks average at best, at least for european standards. Some ugly details: short legs, thick ankles, awful skin... Plus, without a face it's impossible to know if the chick is hot or not. If she has a beautiful face with that body we could consider her a "hot" chick, despite of not being perfect at all. If she has an ugly face she definitely falls into the "ugly witch" category.

Guys, how many of you are not even in your 30s and never got laid with a woman that is truly beautiful?

Wait a minute, is this the one that was shipped to Missouri? If so, are you going to have it shipped to Thailand when you go back there?

Yes was shipped to mo.

No not going to thailand when i go back next week.

Wh... wuhhhhhh? So you bought a Lambo and won't be driving it? Was it a gift?

It is my wife's. But she wont drive it. I'm sure I will some. But mostly this was to get BTC some good press.

I will be back in the USA off and on.

your wife is pretty expensive to keep. is she from tha ricefields of isan?

Wow, what a dick!

Lol. Haters gona hate.

thanks for the admission.

This guy was sending me PMs before begging me to send him BTC because supposedly he got sick from some girl while whoring in Thailand. I'm not sure if it was a scam or not but my rejecting his calls for free BTC seems to be why he is going into all my threads and insulting my family.

I had him on ignore and never would have seen what he posted had someone not quoted him.

So maybe he is just telling his own story: typical ferang got hooked and scammed by a super dark skinned Isaan lady. Probably he got a nasty illness too.

Ignore the haters, Goat!

http://www.coindesk.com/hoarded-bitcoins-flood-blockchain-mystery/

I would love to see a bunch of coins dumped like that and see the market return to a fair price fueled by investor demand rather than speculation. If I could get a rock solid price like that which I could feel completely safe with, then I would hold my coins in codl storage and take a break from the exchanges and the charts.

What is a fair price?

anything less then 10,000$  Cheesy

Mmmmm... I was thinking on $100k?

Cheesy

http://nypost.com/2013/12/23/government-robbed-me-of-33m-in-bitcoins-silk-road-pirate/

wow, even though he is going to lose, the courts are going to have to make a ruling on it, and more or less claim that btc is property and thus give it all sorts of rights.

pretty cool for btc.

also he more or less admitting to running silk road must mean his case is extremely weak.

http://www.forbes.com/pictures/mhl45efgek/ross-ulbricht-3/

Yeah, his case is not looking solid.

I guess he is at least trying to recoup some money to be able to pay for top dollar lawyers.

He will fail and Bitcoin will get stronger in the process.

P(Has gambling addiction) > P(Has a brother) * P(Brother has gambling addiction)

P has a brother who is a thief and a degenerate gambler, but P does not want to turn him in because all his troubles will eventually go away by themselves.

freethink, I agree completely - hawalla, micropayments and cell-phone based Internet in Africa indicate a prime target for Bitcoin adoption!

yep I'm hoping for great things out of africa.

Lot of white and Asian (mostly Chinese) males in BTC. As soon as that changes the true cryptocurrency revolution will start.
577  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin bear chart on: December 23, 2013, 10:12:17 PM

MOABT (mother of all bear traps)?

I suppose it might be the 'mother of all' bull traps, but again not really. Away from the heavily slanted bias of this forum, nobody with any kind of head for investment is looking at Bitcoin now and thinking, 'definite buy, it simply MUST go up'. Anyone entering market at this point in time must surely know they are taking a risk that this is indeed a stability period after the very bottom.

I disagree. Wealth investors and institutional investors look at bitcoin as boom or bust. I don't think many of them think that the price will be anywhere near $600 2-3 years from now. They believe it will either be between $0-$5 or $10k-$100k.  So, if you are going to take the chance on Bitcoin from their perspective, $600 is as good as $500 or $400 or whereever.

So, as a bear, you have to ask yourself, how long are you going to wait out for a couple hundred dollar cheaper coins, before the bigger money arrives next year.

This is a half-truth at best. Having 30%, 50% or 100% more of something is quite a difference. Smart money looks for the best entry point in a given timeframe, especially when dealing with an extremely volatile asset as it is BTC.

I'm going to singapore, phil, and maybe thailand in january to find my partner.

This could end in tears if you are not careful. Trying to get this sorted in a month is just asking for trouble.

I spent 8 years in Thailand learning the culture and the language. Anyway, best of luck.
Don't worry it wasn't spontaneous.  I went singapore early this year (3rd time) and already met a filipina friend living there and now she's back in phil looking for work.  I'm going there and then we're going hk and then singapore to see her other family again and then back to phil.   Smiley
The thailand part was just as a holiday and say hello to another friend from facebook who isn't after me at all, infact they are talking to someone else anyway  Smiley

Best of luck!
Thankyou, I don't look for sex so i'm not a bad person, i'm just very lonely and people are nicer there.

Yep, looking for sex would make you such a bad person, on the contrary looking for love makes you sooooo good.

Gotta love the current wildly off topic chat we are having in this thread. "western looking for love in Asia observer thread"??

Poor Blitz.

In other news: everybody so oversold in here...

The energy and miners need be there (the coin economics do not work without it),

Hey RP, may be a little off topic, but can you point me to a thread that explains this more thoroughly? I think I understand why the miners need to be there - what about the energy?

FYI: http://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf

The basics are all on the original whitepaper.
