561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: HAVE YOU EVER MET ANY SUCCESSFUL GAMBLER on: June 12, 2019, 01:03:07 PM
Is this implying there are people out there that take gambling so serious that it's considered as a career?

What happened to gambling for fun...?

Have I met a successful gambler,no I haven't but I have read stories of people winning big and on some threads here people have won lots of bitcoin from micro bets, guess this counts.
562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: From Janitor to Millionaire on: June 12, 2019, 09:19:25 AM
This million dollars win came at the best time of this ex janitor and am sure he quit his job immediately after confirming the numbers and if his life can change in a blink of an eye why should others not dream.

The lottery is not a way to poverty as its put in the OP, it's a platform of opportunity which gives everyone a chance to win.
563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who are the strong candidates who will get this year's Ballon D'or trophy? on: June 12, 2019, 06:35:29 AM
Hmm, this is difficult question. Let's see my list:
- Ronaldo
- Messi
- Neymar
Failed at UCL and WC so a big no.

- van Dijk, potential UCL winner
A defender.

- Modric, WC runner up
- Hazard, WC 3rd pos, good EPL stats
No trophies

- Mbappe, WC & Ligue 1 winner, Ligue 1 top goalscorer
- Salah, EPL top goalscorer & potential UCL winner
So between these two strikers, I would recommend Mbappe Smiley
Good analysis, based on this am actually thinking the Egyptian Pharaoh is more liked than Mbappe which is the winning factor and besides the English league has a much larger audience than ligue 1 which if tabled well gives Salah a huge advantage.
Am just hoping we don't go back to the Ronaldo, Messi pool when we have lots of great talent all around the world that deserve this trophy at the point. Who better to receive the Ballon Dor than Salah.
564  Other / Meta / Re: Trust flags on: June 12, 2019, 06:02:48 AM
I am wondering will users be able to remove a scammer flag early in the spirit of forgiveness. Do users in your trust network automatically support flags or do they need to take action?

The original accuser can withdraw their support, but they can't delete the flag. So other users could take it up even if they withdraw.

Flags need to be actively supported.

Here's a user with a flag that you could support/oppose:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=157669
And if you log out or use a newbie account, you can see the banner on their topic:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2690003.0
Scenario one talks more of a flag being supported but in the event of the flag being outweighed by opposers does that mean the flag won't stand ??
And what happens in the case of a deadlock were support=oppose

Admin can we get a child board in meta for all FLAGS
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are altcoins useless? on: June 11, 2019, 10:15:00 PM
Anything that is not bitcoin is an Altcoin, and any altcoins which is considered useless is known as a shitcoin!

Quote
Are altcoins useless
I don't think so, altcoins are an extension of bitcoin and we have seen several brilliant technologies emerge from this and some of the technology has found itself being adopted into bitcoin as I see BTC being a work in progress that needs some fine tuning to get it working perfectly.

566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Want to quit? Here's how on: June 11, 2019, 09:51:42 PM
You know what they say about bad habits "bad habits die hard" simply interpreted as quitting isn't easy!

If it were so easy people would not be having gambling addiction problems but with the few points listed in the IP they can help in the process of quitting.
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why we should belive Crypto? on: June 11, 2019, 09:20:12 PM
Should we support crypto fully or can we believe about this? Seeing that the people who took the hypothesis of the crypto were very losers. Because this year there is a lot of price fall.
While you say the pioneers of crypto were losers, look around you... top firms around the world are on a race to get crypto working with their products as this is the future and if you don't want to fall back remain a crypto user

People was being busy with crypto, but nobody can not want to take losses. But they got.
You are being tough on crypto even our dearest stoke market doesn't always produce profits for its investors
568  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too many exchanges? on: June 11, 2019, 08:24:40 PM
We are seeing more and more exchanges nowadays. Is it beneficial to the community if we have more of these? What do you think are the benefits and/or the negative impact on having too many exchanges?

First we have to remember that we have centralized and decentralized exchanges, with centralized exchanges being fewer and run and guided by some regulator to prevent money laundering and other financial crimes. But do we need more, yes.....crypto is not yet fully adopted or at its optimum and if exchanges are to be limited now then they won't accommodate new ideas of a good exchange as competition will be limited.
I believe we need more for better services and new ideas to emerge, the only downside is some exchanges have kind of monopolized this business which can easily force things on us such as KYC.
569  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-07] India Proposes 10-Yr Jail For Crypto Use, May Introduce own crypto on: June 11, 2019, 07:01:47 PM
If India wishes to introduce its own cryptos they are better doing this the right way, perhaps regulation is what they need to be talking about and not jail time for using a competitors product.

The punishments they are proposing is laughable and hope this is a late April Fools joke. Honestly in this time and era trying to win customers with unfair competition or should I say blackmail is unacceptable !
570  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: June 11, 2019, 05:51:10 PM
^  Mou to Newcastle could be close to a possibility of happening if the Shiek's cousin buys the club.  But knowing Mou, if it isn't Chelsea or Man United, I don't think he'll be managing another EPL club unless he's reeaallyy desperate for a job.
It could be exciting to see other clubs in the top 7 but unfortunately Rome was not built in one day so if Newcastle had a new owner it would take a couple of years before the started to get profits from their investments as City did.

Anybody wanna do a bet?  My 30 (USD) for your 20 says City's gonna win the EPL next season.  Take your pick.  If another club wins besides ours, it's a draw.  Open to anybody trusted.  Smiley

Is their any bet here because this looks like a lose lose for anyone playing or betting against city.

Liverpool is a good challenger don't write them off early, perhaps the team able to upset the wager Roll Eyes
571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 11, 2019, 04:07:25 PM
I wanna bet on Mou as the next Chelsea manager.  Take your pick and give me good odds if your pick is Lampard or Benitez or anybody more favored than Mou.
Mou might be a good name to give the blues a revamping but I should admit his time is up and should sit this one, am sure he still wants to prove something but his ego gets the better of him sometimes and this is not the time for drama.

Looking at some of the names that are being considered for the job I think "Massimiliano Allegri" is a good fit because a big club deserves a big name and Allegri is the name! With the amount of pressure coming with the job I see Alle overcoming this with no problem thanks to his experience and England is a good place for his next challenge.

572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Global Facebook Coins Good To Buy? on: June 11, 2019, 01:52:37 PM
With facebooks influence in the social world this could either be a bad or good coin depending on their approach in different countries, but I foresee lots of legal work being done to make this a coin to be used everywhere in the world as they are likely to operate in a regulated environment unlike other cryptos such as bitcoin. But should we be buying this coin, well maybe yes as they have a market to expand in and potential for more cryptos is abundant.
573  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency, KYC and Terrorism on: June 11, 2019, 01:10:19 PM
Submitting KYC documents or information to unknown people could be used for other illegal activities (if it is a sketchy project) but without proof of how docs are misused and how this has been connected to terrorism is FUD or good as any speculation.
TBH I think using crypto to be funded for such terror activities could be a total loss as limits are put on selling crypto on most exchanges which makes this a bad choice for these guys.
574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Get $40 stellar very easily on: June 11, 2019, 10:51:27 AM
I think we know by now that the $40 $25 that blockchain.com is giving away isn't entirely free, they need our personal information in exchange for the stellar coins which I think isn't a fair deal as we don't know if a third party might be sold this info or whatever they need the info for.

Best of luck to those getting free crypto, KYC isn't meant for everyone Tongue
575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to safely store big amounts of BTC? on: June 10, 2019, 07:57:39 PM
OP is your desired storage restricted to only hardware Wallet's? I think you can go with two to reduce on cost and responsibility of remembering where each one is (if they will be stored separately) Unfortunately Am not so much into hardware wallets because am not convinced they are the outright answer to storing a portfolio as yours and other wallets an do a good job too.

Imo you could use a vanity segwit wallet that you can generate from a clean machine that guarantees no third party knows or has access to your private keys.

Guide on how to create a vanity segwit wallet follow link here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5144752.0
576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Qualifying on: June 10, 2019, 06:46:27 PM
Congratulations to Portugal as they secured the win over the Netherlands. It was a deserved victory for them they were the better team over both halves, Netherlands were only able to record just a shot on target all through the entire game.
When ever Portugal is in the news, you know who else gets some credit....the great Cristiano Ronaldo and his stats easily go up over his nemesis Messi who struggles to impress for his country but this is not a contest between the two as both are very good players.

Getting back to this game am starting to think Netherlands will not be getting back to those days they were a force to reckon with the show the put on,more effort is needed to remain competitive.

Who is going to win this one I think Belgium is my team
577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Money for Nothing and your Bitcoin for Free on: June 10, 2019, 05:37:16 PM
OP I believe this was discussed sometime last week or the other can't just remember the source but thanks for bringing this to light
this was already discussed a ton when price dropped and was debunked too. you didn't need to read something on reddit and make a article about it! it was a misunderstanding plus some FUD that led the started of this whole thing to believe those funds were moved to exchange to be sold. we actually figured out that those coins weren't even moved to exchange, but to a wallet (XAPO to be exact)
Honestly this is news to me , we were made to believe funds actually did move all in an effort to manipulate prices and profit from this but after reading this it is evident that crypto is full of FUD and we need to develop investigative ways of verifying news for authenticity.
578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking News! Third world nation bans BTC. 10 years in jail for holding crypto on: June 10, 2019, 07:50:35 AM
Why do these people always want to make the wrong news when they should be promoting it instead Huh
AFAIK Indians are quite talented people in many fields and we need their freelance services and other professional services which is now possible with cryptocurrencies as the means of payment. The government alone that side can't provide jobs for its people and should find a way to embrace this as a way to support it's people.
579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: hardware wallets safe? on: June 09, 2019, 05:57:46 PM
of late I have been reading different bug fixes of some of these hardware wallets and no major loses about them either....guess it's all about correct precautionary use.

TBH no one will guarantee you safety if you don't follow the best ways of protecting your coins  such as not using public networks or PCs as they might be infected with malware, not sharing private keys and all. AFAIK The hardware wallet won't safe guard your coins without us doing our part of using the wallets correctly and safely.
580  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is anonymous betting a desired feature? on: June 09, 2019, 11:38:30 AM
I'm working on a football (soccer) betting site, and I'd like to know if it is worth the effort to add the feature to allow no-registration bets. Has it ever been a deciding factor when you pick a site to bet on?
We have had this sort of gaming experience with directbet a no registration gambling site and I must say it was a success judging from how long it ran and its popular megathread  Tongue,.

Just some advice be prepared to find means to market this service as market has quite a lot of sportsbooks today and that's some Directbet did well, good luck mate.

If I understood the question, Anonymous betting could mean no KYC then no-registration could mean its based on the directbet model and I think both would work because most players don't like KYC. But a no-registration site is not that popular you could try it out and see if this will draw more players.
