Guys... Let's keep this thread clean. We need it clean so the manager can check important questions/issues we have or post announcements regarding the campaign.
Stop posting that you have received payment or nonsense speculations, it is utterly useless.

You are on a good track but still need to improve the quality of your posts in order to receive merit. Try to focus on something you are good at and a thread about it. I see you are mainly interested in trading, maybe you could create a thread for weekly price analysis/predictions. I see you copy/pasted information from quora.com without providing quotes of the text or the source. This is very bad and people already reported you here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3345897.msg35564087#msg35564087 Your time on this forum will be limited if you continue with this nonsense.

I believe it was the false low share attack ban. Did you manage do get the mining going?
Thanks for the help but I switched mining another coin in the mean time. I can't waste time monitoring my machines when you have a broken poll that bans them for no reason. Fix it to get more miners on board.

2. Let's say you buy GBP with EURO, if GBP increases in value compared to EURO does that mean you are making a profit and should be taxed? Of course not.
Yes because you get income and it is taxed What income do you get? You just exchanged your money in a different currency. I'm not saying you convert it back to EURO or even if you do it shouldn't be taxed. If GBP devalues compared to the EURO do you report the loss anywhere? I don't think you get any compensation from the government when you lose money now, do you?

You seem to be interested in bounties and that's it. You participate in a lot of them and you write guide on how other can properly manage them. You need to focus on learning more about the crypto world and less on bounties in order to receive merit. You posts are mainly replies to trivial questions. You need to create quality posts in order to get merit.

I think the way to see if a coin has an overvalued price is to check the price chart in BTC for it. The ICO price should be a baseline price for it, you should look for the all time high (ATH) and the all time low (ATL).
You also need to make sure the volume for that coin is high (500k+) to avoid being caught up in a pump & dump and I would say if the coin price is more than the average between the ATH & ATL that coin is overvalued.

I have some questions about it:
1. What kind of speeds do you get in CryptoNight with it? Does it exceed the 2 KH/s speeds the Vegas are getting right now? 2. How about the number of cores & speed per core? 3. Where did you find it to buy it? What kind of price did you get for it?

I see it has fallen to $2.73 since this thread was created but still it hasn't lost all it's value as the majority of coins did since the beginning of the year. Indeed, it looks like an interesting coin to invest in.

This is great opportunity to receive merit, but just for Jr. member and higher rank. I need to wait to join your program until reach Jr. Member, but I want to know until when you open this? As long as I know, there is sMerit in limited number for an account and it will be added whenever receive merit even half of merit number received. I hope your program will be long You have 18 posts since you joined and you're already concerned about merit... This isn't the place for you. You need to read more and be more involved in the forum here in order be able to create quality content and receive merit. Suggestion: Try to better format your posts, use paragraphs for new ideas to better structure the post and make it easier to read and understand.

Interesting "land of the free" the United States and Australia are I'm sorry for you guys. Although, I wasn't saying you need to convert GBP back to EURO to get your profits as you wouldn't need to do that with crypto currency either. You use it to buy things online and if you need to exchange it back to FIAT the exchanges would be taxed and you would pay a commission. Either way, I see there are some thresholds in place for FIAT exchanges and those should be the same for crypto too.

The quality of your posts needs to include in order to receive merit. Some of your replies are in long threads that will not be read because they aren't visible. Some of your posts are in long mega threads and are replies to trivial questions. This will not get you any merits.

I suggest you should read more news about crypto currencies and also focus on the roadmap of your coin to be able to set your selling/buying points.
Another good point would be to track your portfolio in btc not usd. Since the market fluctuates a lot even for btc, you should follow you altcoin prices in btc.

This is still bad news for the crypto world...
Crypto currencies are currencies, as the name says, to be used as electronic payment and should not be taxed.
1. If you buy GBP with EURO, is GBP considered to be movable property? Of course not.
2. Let's say you buy GBP with EURO, if GBP increases in value compared to EURO does that mean you are making a profit and should be taxed? Of course not.

I think the best thing to do is to read a lot of news related to crypto and check the roadmap for your coins. This will get you an idea on where the price will go and you can define your selling/buying points. 1st you could trade thru USDT as USDT don't much change in value even if BTC price decreases. I see a lot of people doing this kind of trades but there are only few alts that you can pair with USDT so you need BTC/LTC/ETH/DOGE to trade other Alts.
2nd if you will use other coin to trade other than USDT like BTC as most of the people. You don't count what te value of your holdings by USD you will count it as satoshi. If you trade thru BTC the goal is to increase tour satoshi not the USD value.
I think you will always have to trade through BTC or ETH since USDT is not available for all coins and it's not really relevant to track the USD price for your portfolio. You should always set your selling/buying points in btc or eth.

I have been using 2 machines from two different locations so, two different external IPs. One of them that has about 300 h/s and the other with about 600 h/s with the same miner configuration so, same port: 3333. The first one got banned after an hour or so, the other is still running fine after a couple days. Hi, thank you for mining with us! Please find the updated list of miner software and the ways of using those here: http://wtippool.worktips.info/#getting_startedAlso, if Your IP was banned it was for low shares, and you will have to wait at least 10 minutes before trying again. If you need more info and/or help feel free to join us on Discord: https://discord.gg/YGeWXQ2Thank you! I'm not sure what's the reason of the ban because it isn't saying why. If I got banned for low shares, does that mean I need to switch to a different port like 5555 or what should I do? EDIT: I think I might have used the same password (same worker id) for both machines could this be the cause for one getting banned?

I like the way you research a subject and you also include references in your posts. Merited! Also, thanks for reading the rules. I know there are some similar review threads out there but make sure you always read the OP not just the title and this applies to all threads not just mine.

I think people are still investing in it to speculate on a possible future accomplishment. This can go either way: it will go to the moon if accomplished or go bust if they don't make it. Same thing as for IOTA.
The best thing to do at this point would be to track the dev team, announcements aand make sure the roadmap is kept o track.
|
|
|
I think it's always good when a new developer joins the team and brings new ideas along As far as I know, fireice_uk has experience in creating mining software and not the coins themselves. I'm curious to see what will he bring new to the table and if the roadmap will be completed sooner with his addition to the team.

The recommended power just for your 3x AMD Radeon RX580 & 1x Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 GPUs is 882 W. You can check the recommended power supply & configure your whole system here: http://www.coolermaster.com/power-supply-calculator/You definitely need a larger power supply. Please keep in mind that a CPU & other hardware devices like a HDD/SSD require power, be sure to factor that in too.

I think the best IDE you can use for Bitcoin/Crypto development is IDEA Intellij. It's cross platform (you can use it on Ubuntu, Mac or Windows) and you can use the community edition for free. Anyone who has ever worked in software development appreciates a good IDE like Intellij. As the programming language used for the blockchain is C++, you will need to get a plugin for it to be able to use it in the IDE. You can find some useful info on it here: https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/1373-c-c-
