61  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fortunejack refusing to pay 5 BTC *STAY FAR AWAY* on: February 25, 2020, 02:10:24 PM
How many have you gone through? Can you list a few? If it is the case I find it a very lucrative business... Also, everybody is a nonamer at some point but that shouldn't stop someone fixing the industry-standard...

It would be easier if you named the top 50 casinos and I could tell you on two hands tops (more like one) which ones I haven't played at.

I was asking about the TOS regarding multi-accounts. Anyway, I haven't gambled much in my life so 50 is kinda stretch... I can google it them for you if you want... But I have come across William hills and Bet365 and after doing a quick google search I found they have a similar rule of 1 account per person but I don't know yet how they enforce this. Gonna read more into this...

If your system is superior you really should go out there and sell it to big brand casinos (not only crypto ones) and you'd make a killing considering they'd save a lot on administrative fees.

It isn't my system, this has existed for a very long time and I don't need to sell anything, It's literally a few lines of codes and you get a UID, you can then couple this with IPs if you want and you will have the ability to build a stronger case against multi-account users. But the way I'm starting to see it, they are shying away from this for the very reason I stated above. A way to bail themselves out.

Quote from: Hhampuz
As for the TOS this is how any larger legitimate casino operates. You can just go through all the big ones that you can find out there in the world and you will see.. It's nothing about "Avoid these poor TOS sites" if anything you'd run a greater risk of losing money if you find the opposite (as they'll most likely be small-time nonamers).

How many have you gone through? Can you list a few? If it is the case I find it a very lucrative business... Also, everybody is a nonamer at some point but that shouldn't stop someone fixing the industry-standard...
63  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fortunejack refusing to pay 5 BTC *STAY FAR AWAY* on: February 25, 2020, 01:29:04 PM
I guess this should serve as a lesson to all gamblers out there that do not gamble with Bookmakers/Casinos who have poor TOS. I'm kinda disappointed TBH how the crypto gambling industry is handling the multi-account situation there are far better ways to detect multi-accounts than merely IPs ( which I have explained here ). UIDs are far better at detecting multi-accounts and have a very low rate of false-positive scenarios. If a solo developer like me could implement a UID verification system and would outright block the registration of a new account if the user's UID matched someone else, preventing the loss of time and money for both me and them, I expect these casinos to go above and beyond.

I do understand this is one of the ways these casinos make money and one could argue all day about reading TOS before you put your money in these casinos but TBH I believe they don't need to rely on these practices. Like if the OP had lost the bets etc the casino would have gladly swallowed the losses but when its time to pay up, they go through all this verification and stuff, TBH its shady behaviour in my opinion and this isn't just limited to FJ, I have seen a couple of other casinos which have similar TOS. What you as a gambler can do is stop gambling at these casinos and demand better TOS. Otherwise, why not just burn your private keys/seed?

Also if this is the industry standard, It looks like the most profitable business to me. Basically, in theory, one could run a casino with similar TOS and when the times come to pay up large sums and your bankroll is kinda running low, You create a fake IP log of sorts and bail yourself out by not paying the amount due and by returning the original deposited amount. No one would be able to argue against you since you will already have established your brand and one-off cases would be dismissed as trolls and shit. I will look around and see how many bookmakers and dice websites have these kinds of TOS and are going unnoticed. Looks like a quite lucrative business to me... hmm.
64  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: February 25, 2020, 12:27:38 AM
I usually don't get involved in these kinds of dramas, But using IPs to ensure people are not multi-accounting is a terrible way to prevent it. There will be just too many false positives. This is even suggested by the IP logs, there are more than or 3 accounts linked with IPs in question. There are far better ways to prevent multi-accounting than filtering it by IPs, There are only a handful of Unique IPs out there, Not each and every one of us can have a unique one, I was faced with this challenge when I was creating a Faucet App for Android. To prevent multi-accounting I went for UIDs, Instead of IPs. These UIDs were linked with MAC addresses of the device. Android has a function which generates these UIDs and most of the time it will generate a unique UID. Also, I was checking for multi-accounts right at the registration process so that they wouldn't be spending their time on the app and at the end get a ban because their UID matched with another person. So if the user tried to create a new account an error would pop up, suggesting that there is already an account linked with your device. For the most part, everything went smooth. I got a total of 2 support emails which said that they weren't allowed to create an account and that had to do with their MAC address being nulled for some reason. I would suggest all Bookmakers to follow a similar strategy, No one can then accuse you of banning certain accounts while leaving the others Open as what is being suggested in this case...

Anyway, what I am trying to say is that there are better ways to prevent multi-accounts. I assume FJ wants to grow and not restrict its userbase to mere the number of IP addresses available. This is clearly something which can be worked on... As for @amelik2, he claimed that he hasn't touched any of the bonuses offered while FJ suggests otherwise, which makes me question if the PatDugan email screenshot is forged or not... I'm not siding with any party here as there is conflicting information which is being presented by either side. I will watch it from the sidelines and see where this heads.

What I would suggest @amelik2 to you is get your coworker on a video chat with a trusted escrow/DT member here and go through every bit of detail, Like E.G the withdrawal address used in PatDugan's FJ account, Make your coworker sign it, Make him share his FJ account login details with the escrow/DT member so that they can verify you aren't forging any screenshots. At this point, PatDugan is the key to your case. If you can bring him forward and let him present his evidence your case will only become stronger. But if you can't, I don't see how you can convince us otherwise at this point...

I'm looking for a full-stack developer partner for one of my projects. I can't give out much at this point but we will be working on a news aggregator website of sorts with a twist... something like n4g.com. The partnership will be on 50-50 split terms. I will even consider paying for your development time if the project gets traction. I will handle the Design and Investment side of things which this project will require. I will also cover the domain and hosting cost of this project. If you are interested in working with me and want to know more about the project feel free to get in touch with me, Do link in your past work it will be appreciated.

Warren sees everything as a business.[1]

Quote from: bitcoinist.com
Warren believes in businesses that generate value. Bitcoin does not have these overt indicators, so he does not see the value of bitcoin. Warren believes that bitcoin is only valuable in the context of short-term market volatility and crashed (similar to gold). In his eyes, bitcoin is not a store of value, it’s a store of fear. He believes that investing in something that expects a market crash is not a good strategy. Warren believes in businesses that generate value, therefore he does not see the value of bitcoin. He believes bitcoin is only valuable because of fear of what happens in the short term if the markets crash (similar to gold). So bitcoin is not a store of value, it’s a store of fear. He believes that investing in something that expects a market crash is not a good strategy.

For some reason, he has failed to understand that bitcoin isn't a company owned by someone. There is no profit-generating model which is attached with Bitcoin. It is not supposed to be a business, it's a currency. I'm surprised how he can't understand this bit. It isn't fiat which can be printed whenever the banks wish. He is trying to paint a picture that investing in rare items is "fear investing"... People don't invest in rare items out of fear but rather what value they bring to the table. Bitcoin despite being limited in supply can work as a global currency. The value of bitcoin comes from its immutable Ledger which is owned by no one...

Also, his recent statement doesn't make any sense.

Quote from: cnbc.com
Cryptocurrencies basically have no value and they don’t produce anything,

Gold doesn't produce anything... FIAT doesn't produce anything So they have no value in his eyes? He is clearly out of gas... the guy shouldn't be taken seriously anymore, He doesn't make any sense anymore...

Lol... I wasn't trying to get high legally TBH... Where I am located currently there are plenty of ways to get high legally... Stuff grows in public and nobody gives a shit... My routine is kinda all over the place as @NeuroticFish mentioned in the long run it affects your sleep/awake system... I have been a night owl for some years now, I was trying to fix my damn routine... I pulled out a day without sleep then one thing led to another and we were at 3 days just like that. Pulled a 24-hour gaming session over the weekend with my boys without taking a break but I kept my self hydrated so there were plenty of trips to the toilet in between... I drink a shit load of water each day around 7-9 Liters and I'm not even exaggerating, So I guess that's one of the reasons I'm still breathing... But unfortunately, that 20-hour sleep session has done nothing to fix my routine... smdh. So yeah I wouldn't recommend staying up like that, it's not worth it...
68  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: may i know which better and what the difference between share actual diffculty ? on: February 24, 2020, 01:36:08 AM
With 5 GPUs I will recommend mining with a pool, as mining solo will be useless. You won't even mine a single block... You can find plenty of pools by doing a quick google search, I won't recommend any as I haven't worked with any. Do your own research on that. When I used to mine, I would use nicehash, Not recommending them but I'm only sharing my experience with them... Never got any issues TBH, they got all the miners for different algos and would pay me directly in BTC so I didn't have to convert all the shitCoins my GPUs would mine, Saved a lot of hassle tbh... Plus Nicehash will ensure you mine the most profitable coin so that you make the most "money" at the end of the day... Nicehash will pay you in BTCs. If you are not willing to put the time in doing the research on your own then Nicehash is the way to go.

Also, Mining is not just about finding a software online and then running it, it's about testing, trying new miners, finding the right clocks for your GPUs, Flashing your GPUs and so on. If you really want to dip your toes in mining start googling and start learning about it on the technical level, but if you just want to test things and don't want to get into the nitty-gritty of mining then Nicehash is the way...
69  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: may i know which better and what the difference between share actual diffculty ? on: February 24, 2020, 12:48:59 AM
You are mining with a pool so finding shares is expected, it even says so in the image. You can't solo mine without running a full node. Full node basically means having the whole blockchain on your system. I will suggest you read more about how mining with pools works. In a nutshell, a task is divided up and given to all the participants in the pool which they then work on to find a solution. This task is easier to solve than solving the whole block on your own. As a result, you get a share for solving these easier tasks and your reward according to your valid shares...
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sending Bitcoin through SMS/Text Messaging? on: February 23, 2020, 06:06:57 PM
After reading through some comments, I feel like there is a lot of confusion about the subject. This is due to the fact that many people don't understand how Bitcoin works on the technical level. I will try to explain why Bitcoin can't work in an offline environment for now at least... Let's start with the basics.

Bitcoin is a ledger, this ledger is kept on thousands of PCs ( nodes ) around the globe. These nodes make up the Bitcoin's Network. This network can't exist if there is no consensus between the nodes. This consensus is only achieved if every one of them is running the same version of the bitcoin ledger... With thousands of transaction which are made every minute they need to be synced across the network to reach a consensus, hence why we have a block time of 10 minutes... Syncing takes time. If some nodes disagree with the majority they can split the chain creating a new coin like Bitcoin Cash etc... Even if it's a single transaction, the network will split, So given that's the case, Everybody can't be running a version of their own ledger, It has to be the one which the majority agrees upon. The current medium to sync the ledger is via the internet.

The issue with syncing the ledger with SMS is, for a person to make a transaction they will have to broadcast it every single miner/mining pool out there and same will be the case for the miners, they will have to broadcast the same version of the ledger to every user who wants to run a full node, which is something impossible at this point. The cost doesn't make sense given the international data rates and is an inefficient way to run the bitcoin network... so @Sanugarid there is nothing the developers can do about this.

@Yatsan Quantum entanglement will be a faster way to sync the Ledger. Quantum entanglement is basically the transfer of information instantaneously between two locations so syncing the ledger of become a lot quicker once we have the technology to do so. Read more into it.

The only secure way, for now, to send bitcoins via SMS is to send a message with your Signed Transaction to service which will broadcast it over the network for you. That's the closest you can get to transfer bitcoins via an SMS...

I'm gonna backpedal here, I was just not thinking straight I guess... Maybe that had to do something with me not sleeping for 3 days straight... Anyway looking at this conversation with a fresh set of eyes ( literally slept for more than 20 hours ), I can clearly see what you guys are suggesting... Bad people will always find a way to hurt people... Like e.g Automobiles aren't made to plough into people but people with bad intentions have done it, Now we can't ban cars in an area of conflict just to prevent loss of life... it may help people flee when their life is in danger... I can see how Bitcoin or other Cryptos can help people in regions which are in conflict... E.g Moving Cash would be a nightmare when there are checkpoints every 2 blocks while with bitcoin all you need is a pen drive.

I find that a truly bizarre attitude.

Bizarre? You call the pacifist approach bizarre... Well, I guess we will have to agree to disagree on that one...

Quote from: hatshepsut93
Because usually it's not the case, terrorists get funded by states or wealthy individuals, in this specific case Hamas is mainly funded by Iran and its allies. And it's not like they just send some money to the terrorists, they often supply them directly with goods, weapons, food, etc. Terrorism existed  long before Bitcoin was created, and Bitcoin's emergence didn't change anything.

Well, I believe these all things are accommodated via Black money... So there are mechanisms already in place which "allow" the funding to go undetected...

@DooMAD I will reply to you in the same manner as @gentlemand. Being a pacifist isn't being perverse... I might be a bit naive with what I have said but I'm not a political person... I'm a simple guy who is fed up with seeing innocent blood spilled each day...
73  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [20-02-2020] Attorney General Says Banks Can’t Refuse Services To Crypto Firms on: February 22, 2020, 04:17:43 AM
So you reckon an entire nation should be denied this service because a few of its inhabitants might use it for nefarious ends? That's daffy. The same goes for every single country on the entire planet. There are no shortage of terrorists elsewhere and some of them are even WHITE.

Well, I agree with you on the part that there is no shortage of terrorists around the globe but the fact that the region has seen so many casualties on both the sides in the past few years that precautions should be taken, it's like America's gun problem even tho people love owning them but they have been used more in Mass shooting than in self-defence over the years... I would say it's no brainer for me, Anything which will prevent further causalities in the region should be implemented right away and that includes both the sides... I don't like or cheer for conflict, I just don't like the fact that human lives are being treated as dirt while all people care about is making money and promote their shitty agendas...
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sending Bitcoin through SMS/Text Messaging? on: February 22, 2020, 12:23:20 AM
You are trying to connect an offline world into an online one... You need a medium to do it. The whole point of bitcoin is to have a synchronized ledger which is distributed around the globe on different nodes, which at the end of the day you are trusting because the bitcoin's code says so, you are not just trusting the middle man but the middlemen while you use the Bitcoin network, Middlemen aren't necessarily always evil...  I don't think it can happen without us achieving quantum entanglement of sorts and rewriting the bitcoin code...

However, this can be done on an individual scale without much hassle... All you need to do is set up a server which will check for incoming messages on a sim ( you can find plenty of guides around on how you can receive SMS on your PC by connecting your sim ) and then broadcast it for you... All you need is to have a basic knowledge of python. You can simply run a coroutine which checks for received messages every minute, an hour or whatever you want the duration to be and broadcasts the signed transaction in the SMS via an API. You can find plenty of APIs which you can use to broadcast Signed Bitcoin Transactions, Basically eliminating the middleman in this case. however, I don't see how it can harm someone even if it's being run centrally... This doesn't need to be a centralized service where you let an X organization share your private keys or own them all together but simply a service which pushes your signed transactions...

Israel’s Attorney General refutes court’s blanket ban on crypto related transactions in banks and financial institutions. The AG disagrees with the two-year long blanket ban on banks dealing with crypto payments stating that “each case should be handled individually to check for any case of money laundering

Personally I think it's a dumb move, Especially with what goes on in the region... I have to say it can be used to fund the terrorists, it's a no-brainer at this point... What are your thoughts? Do you think people in Isreal should be allowed to use cryptos given that more than a million Palestinians hold citizenship of Isreal and the political mess the region is in?

After looking at this conversation with a fresh set of eyes I believe this move should be welcomed. People should never give up their freedom for a false sense of security.

@bitMaxz I don't think she is looking for a transaction accelerator... I checked the transaction on the block explorer it has more than 500 confirmations on it... I'm still confused about what she means by the word validation? Her transaction should have arrived by now since its not the case of unconfirmed transaction. Also, her title suggests she wants to identify rather than validate... So I guess she wants to verify that her transaction is on the ledger...

I have some feedback. I love your mother's work but TBH I don't think she understands what Bitcoin means yet. Art is about looking at a painting and coming up with a thousand ideas by just looking at it. The bitcoin paintings look forced. What I mean by this is someone is just trying to fit in the Bitcoin logo in random paintings. I love the no 13 painting and the no 11. They give me a new perspective each time I look at them... Maybe try explaining to your Mom what Bitcoin is, What it means in the bigger picture and how can it can help save our humanity. I'm sure she will come up with a masterpiece or two... Besides that Best of luck with the sales...
78  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to identify btc transactions? on: February 21, 2020, 05:46:25 PM
Why are you validating the transaction from the hash ( / Block Explorer ) ? Aren't you using any wallets? Your history tab should show if a pending transaction is incoming, Even wallets like coinbase display incoming transactions which aren't confirmed yet. Anyway, follow what @hd49728 suggested... Click on "Load more outputs... (973 remaining)" and then CTRL + F and copy-paste your address. If your address is found that means a transaction is on its way... Mind telling us what wallet are you using and what address are you using to receive the payment?

Indeed but aren't we allowed to get annoyed when stupid arguments are being made over and over again? You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out that bitcoin can be used by criminals and just like I said before smartphones are used by criminals as well. Computer programming is used by Blackhat hackers, should we stop teaching it in schools? The answer is no! Why isn't the conversation about who gets to learn this skill? I will let you know why it isn't the case because it's a stupid argument to put forward! We should call a spade a spade when we see stupidity is being promoted... There is nothing to get triggered over infact the only people who get triggered are those who's stupidity is being pointed out...

Quote from: bL4nkcode
In a move to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus, China has decided to sanitize its old banknotes, Bloomberg reports.

TBH it doesn't mean much for BTC. Digital payment penetration is quite high in china... In 2018, 83% of all payments were done via Digital gateways like Wechat and Alipay. [1] What's surprising is in bigger cities this figure is around 92%... China has been pushing for digital payments for almost a decade now and TBH they have been successful in doing so. From 3.5% penetration rate in 2011 to 83% within 7 years is quite impressive given its competitor the USA has a penetration rate of only 29.1%. [2] Also I agree with @hatshepsut93, Governments and Bankers don't think of Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency for that matter when they use the word Cashless. China is the perfect example of that, Despite having a digital economy the penetration of Crypto payments is on the lower side. A survey done in 2019 showed only a 4.2% penetration rate. [3]

People aren't awake yet that's what these figures show me and to be quite frank Bitcoin doesn't need a virus or an economic collapse to display its real potential. Bitcoin has already proved it's worth and how it can shape our society but we are just too scared to make the jump. It's a "Us" problem now not the technological one...
