61  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Phemex on: May 02, 2024, 10:01:10 PM
Yeah, it's a pretty normal process in exchanges if you wanna reset your 2fa but loss access to OTPs. You never backed up your secret key or you lost it? if you've used google authenticator, did you login at some point? Next time, try to use an authenticator with easier and safe backup schemes like aegis.

But I can't comment on how safe your data will be on phemex. You'd need to weigh things down on which is more of value to you.

Not that I support it, I'm not sure you'd have a good chance at faking kyc documents in this case since you'd have to submit a video as well which their support will most likely check and not a software. Last I heard, deepfake tech of today may be able to fool the automated softwares but it is said, they'd have a hard time on human checks.

If a real person will do it for you, there's a risk their information has been heavily flagged in exchanges already and in CEX, kyc info is equal to ownership which they have more than you.
62  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: May 01, 2024, 11:11:07 PM
Damn! What a bummer! Only 0.41 won with 12 free spins played? That's bad luck. Well, at some point you will have the luck that you lacked this time. Good thing you took it with humor.

IKR lol. But I guess if you never gamble more than you can afford to lose and take losing as a part of the game, you're less likely to dwell with losses lol. Literally just giggled when I saw the cents. Well, at least, some $MWIN points have been added!

May luck be with you on your next poker sesh as well  Cool
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CZ Sentenced, Your Bitcoin in their Custody on: May 01, 2024, 09:20:15 PM
The 4-month sentence must have been the reason for panicking that caused the price to go down. Right?

I'm leaning towards no since their BNB should've taken hit the most if so. Further, 4 months ain't exactly bad as we can also see from CZ's happy face lmao -- assuming it's not an old photo taken to spice things up lol.

IDK about btc's price decrease tho, just took it as a post halving dump haha
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You Submit KYC Before You Win Big on: May 01, 2024, 06:30:27 PM
Unless they ask me, I will probably not consider it... sooner of later, I think most gambling platforms will implement mandatory KYC so I'm just gonna enjoy this while it last lol. Further, I think it could also help me test the waters first with the gambling platforms if I wanna become their regular or nah.

I do take a middle ground approach though! I only play seriously on platforms where I'm leaning towards okay in KYCing-- the rest depends on how much money is at stake.
65  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Small general trading place? [I wouldn’t know as I’m fairly new to this] on: April 30, 2024, 11:39:35 PM
Alright, what’s a good amount overall to invest in small? 20 bucks? I was thinking about 50 even. Would there be such a thing as investing too much? (too much as in would spending a hundred on it and let it sit)

For starters, try to compare fees of exchanges available to you and try to narrow it down that way.

I think too much in this case could also be spending more than you can afford to lose. There's always a risk in everything esp if you're planning to actively trade or not planning on hodling long term IMO.
66  Economy / Gambling / Re: Share trusted VPN Friendly crypto casinos on: April 28, 2024, 11:39:29 PM
Me too, when I was still actively gambling at duelbits, I used VPN most of the time. I did not win big too, my biggest withdrawal from duelbits was around $3000 and there was no issue at all.

Ooo still a pretty good amount nevertheless. May I ask if you were using a dedicated IP or was it simply a regular paid VPN? I've never gambled in duelbits yet but I'm guessing they're VPN friendly?
67  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Exchanges Nowadays on: April 28, 2024, 10:42:42 PM
If you can check the post well, then you will see that the OP didn’t mention storing coins on exchange, all the OP needs is an appropriate exchange that can be used for trading. I know how risky it is to leave a coin on exchange. The best place to leave a coin is a non custodial wallet, but as we can see, the advice you are giving the OP is not what the OP really needs. You should be advising the OP, maybe if he made mention of storing coins on exchange.

And I will say the exchanges which the op mentioned are really good one’s, so the op can just select one of the exchange and be using it.

Emphasis on this particular bit:
Quote from: op
Used to be super active but got burned by most of the old closures (Cryptsy, btc-e, Bter, etc)

For instance, Cryptsy and btc-e are exchanges which abruptly shutdown along with their users money -- FBI seized btc-e to be more precise. Hence it's a sound theory to say OP may have lost time and money amidst the controveries otherwise, why say they got burned by the closures.

Discussions are not always black and white. There are gray areas where we can read between the lines and form theories in order to further flesh out the discussion.
68  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: April 28, 2024, 10:17:16 PM
RTP and volatility, and that is the reason why some members here think that some casinos are rigged, but they don't know that there are factors why they are unlucky.

Yeahhh, at the end of the day, it's about luck lol. These information could help us determine what type of games we want in conjunction to our risk appetite but only if we have fully grasped the concept. The problem is misconceptions happen hence why metawin's infographic goes a long way imo.

With how much hype base is getting on metawin, I'm starting to think $MWIN token is gonna be on base 🤔
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cold Wallet - The First Real Crypto Movie on: April 28, 2024, 08:00:55 PM
I don't think there has been a truly great crypto movie yet, either.  Maybe it's hard to capture the fast-paced, ever-changing nature of the space in a traditional film format.  It's a complex story to tell!  Maybe Hollywood is still figuring it out.

I think it's also because a lot of us knows more about crypto more than the average people so crypto films can easily come across as edgy or tacky.  Kinda how doctors get the ick on medical shows whenever characters starts shouting at each other everytime in the OR lol.

Further, I can't speak for others but i'm so tired of the illegal activities plot devices.

Speaking of, have you seen any crypto-related ones that you actually enjoyed?  I'd love to hear some recommendations

Nothing lol. I did see trailers and read synopsis but it has never gotten to a point where I wanted to watch it.
70  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are online/crypto casinos the most profitable digital business? on: April 28, 2024, 07:22:26 PM
It's hard to tell IMO. Would totally depend on how boomin the business gets. In every line of business, there's always a top few which gets the most slices of pie.

While it's true that there are many gamblers out there, we also have lots of casinos. I agree with the big investment because people don't just flock into a particular casino for no reason. It's a slow build up of brand hence it's a must that new casinos are able to sustain losses at first while providing adequate marketing and polishing their platform.

I think you can try to look up publicly available companies for statistics though most will be fiat only companies. Casino.guru does provide a range of income of casinos listed but it looks like a rough estimate to me...
71  Economy / Gambling / Re: Hit the MAX WIN on Zeus vs Hades—$240K payout in crypto! 🚀🚀🚀 on: April 27, 2024, 11:01:50 PM
RE: winnings authenticity

I did reverse look up op's replay link and it doesn't appear to be stolen or anything as far as public communities are concerned so there may be truth to op's words 🤔

In any case, I wouldn't suggest playing on ethcasino considering their connections to ltccasino. Further, from op's story, their-- the casino-- limits will be a drawback when you win big.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cold Wallet - The First Real Crypto Movie on: April 27, 2024, 09:42:50 PM
This ain't bad, at least, compared from the previous crypto movies I heard of.

Quote
After a crypto exchange collapses, a group of Redditors set out to recover their funds from the CEO—by whatever means necessary.

I might actually watch this if the opportunity arises but it looks like an indie film to me so I'm not expecting major streaming platforms to pick this up unless this blew up or something. Do keep us updated if you find any online platforms, @op or anyone here lol.

74  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance app is no longer available in Philippines. on: April 27, 2024, 09:08:14 PM
I feel like their wording implies they might re-enter the Phillippines market though, but well, who knows. If it allows your local market to flourish I think that's not a bad trade. CMIIIW.
It's indeed a big who knows lol.

Binance has also expressed similar sentiment amidst the block warning -- last year!

Lastly, from another local news article, binance apparently hinted they would:

In an emailed statement, Binance said it is committed to align with Philippine laws.

“We acknowledge and respect the statement made by the Securities and Exchange Commission of the Philippines. At Binance, we are committed to aligning with applicable local regulations. Under our new leadership, we have taken proactive steps to address the SEC’s concerns,” Binance said. –

And then we have a statement from Philippine SEC indicating they did not try to register or made any effort

According to Atty. Paolo Ong, Officer-in-Charge of the SEC Philifintech Innovation Office, with Binance already operating without a license, the SEC had reached out to the platform but ultimately felt that Binance did not make any effort to get a license or engage in dialogue with them.

“As far as the SEC is concerned, there were no formal or official application to register in the Philippines.” - Atty. Paolo Ong, Officer-in-Charge of the SEC Philifintech Innovation Office

So I'm starting to wonder if this is one of their canned answers lol.

That feeling when you finally trigger that bonus spins but it's a dud LMAOOOO

On another note, got this new promo on my email

However, I noticed this quite late -- got the email 7 hours ago so all slots are most likely taken already, no? 🤔
76  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Small general trading place? [I wouldn’t know as I’m fairly new to this] on: April 26, 2024, 11:52:18 PM
1 USD is too low to buy bitcoin or litecoin since most if not all exchange impose a minium trade or buy amount and such amount def falls the average limit. Not to mention, the fee/s would probably eat your 1 USD or so.

My suggestion is to save up first!  Grin
77  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: April 26, 2024, 11:01:00 PM
As someone who enjoys highly volatile slots, I'm really liking the added volatility meter since it's a lot easier to discover new games that I might like.

Though it can be quite small for some folks once they're on the actual dashboard so i just zoom lol -- see the meter beside RTP.

There's also an infographic once you tap on it

These simple quality of life improvements goes a long way IMO -- not just talkin about gambling platforms but in general.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC wallet to digital artpiece on: April 26, 2024, 09:59:00 PM
IDK, op.

From my perspective, it's hard to tell if the encrypted wallet file genuinely has bitcoins or just used as a fodder to attract gullible folks. Over the years, I've seen many people buying and selling these wallet files with apparently forgotten passwords. I forgot the website/s but I swear, there's even a big dump place for these wallet files -- would be nice if someone could remind me lol.

I actually misused the forum after my registration and here is my original post, where i talk about user friendliness Cheesy
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5494082.0

Nice! I particularly like the user-friendly frontends idea! However, I'm curious if there would be any drawbacks for opting to this in terms of security or privacy?
80  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Has anyone tried Xeggex ? on: April 26, 2024, 07:53:54 PM
Never heard.

During my early years on the space, I did dabble into lesser known exchanges but it was always an amount I can easily forget in case I get burned lol. If you can't find any other exchanges for those coins and you think it's worth the trouble/risk, I think it can be a good middle ground approach. However, if you ever have to connect a wallet, do the trades on a VM and make a fresh wallet there -- to prevent drainer risk.
