Whoo! I got a 1W 445 NM BLUE Burning laser for 0.2 bitcoin!
Can you kill someone with it? Post some pics of severed limbs or something that this laser do.

Not with a 1w laser, but it is enough to cause indirect death.... so caution is advised when using it, you can momentarly blind someone for example with it and cause an accident

I don't think he does, while he might be checking stuff and following up things, I doubt he/them, are tightly involved and following every single thing happening to bitcoin, If I was him, I would split my time into supporting bitcoin and I would be working or trying to find the next big thing, with all the BTC he has he could invest in several interesting startups that have great technical ideas, that what i'd do personally while at the same time preparing for an early and nice retirement plan.

603  Other / Off-topic / Re: eSports: The Future Of Pro Gaming? on: May 11, 2014, 05:59:50 PM
What are your thoughts on the pro gaming scene?

My thoughts: I see LCS(league of legends) and MLG(call of duty) are leading the way as far as marketing and cash prizes go. I would like to see a company push dota2 and sc2 a little harder in the USA as well as EU. Maybe even push hearthstore and a fighting game harder as well.
Actually it was SC Broodwar that started the whole esport thing, games like Quake also contributed, and warcraft but esport remained a korean thing, till sc2 came out, the thing about sc2 is not a very accessible game to all public unlike Moba or FPS games especially when they are free like with league of legends, hence around the 2012 the market moved to those since they have a much larger audience.

As for money and marketing, LCS (2million$ in 2013) for example does not thrump WCS (1.6million in 2013) for example, especially if you consider that the everything related to League is split in 5 at least (5 players) while for sc2.

Just by nature Starcraft and Heartstone will have a smaller audience (with of course the demographic is different age/spending capabilities ect) than Mobas or FPS since they are not as accessible and easy, but Blizzard will probably strike hard with Heroes of the storm

What about the G force when travelling at 3000 kph? This is insane and yet amazing. I hate when I have to sit in a train/bus for hours just to get somewhere and then go back home. So much time is being wasted like that.

The only G force you would feel are during acceleration and deceleration and of course cornering and all of these will be designed in a way that so that they'll never exceed let's say the level of a plane take off at most, for me the challenges at such speed are related to air friction and all the effects that it will cause especially at ground level, so one way to reduce or solve this is by making a depressured tube and trying to achieve near vacuum conditions)
605  Other / Off-topic / Re: $16,264.50 ......I'm a fucking idiot on: May 11, 2014, 03:43:56 PM
Since I joined the Bitcoin bandwagon in November 2013, this is how much money I have put into Coinbase to purchase bitcoins.

Currently I only have 12 BTC, yes just 12, valued at $5367............. I have lost about 11 bitcoins investing in Alt coins (one of the Alt coins I put a huge amount of went form 80 satoshi to 2 satoshi and the devs left the coin, so I consider that money gone). I also have about 2 BTC worth of LTC but given my luck i might as well consider that gone too.

I need 1BTC to be $1355.375 in order to break even. So I have to bank on BTC going above ATH again. And if by some chance 1BTC passes $4k mark I will have $40,000 and I will be very happy (this is the only thought that keeps me from being depressed right now).

If I waited and spent that $16K now, I could have had 36 bitcoins in my posession.

How much of a fucking idiot am I?

I don't even know how the fuck I was able to spare $16K form Nov 2013 to now since I don't even have any savings myself (but no debts either)

Sad about your loss, I don't have anywhere as much to invest in cryptos, but I think was affected your investment most is the BTC Price collapse that affected all other altcoins at the same time.

I think that you should consider different ways and aspect of investing in cryptocurrencies
ie: Long terms investment (HODL) and shot terms investment, safe(er) investment, and high risk high reward (which most altcoins are).

Considering these aspect you should adjust the capital investment per category.

As for you being a fucking idiot, I don't think so, there is always a risk with investing, it's just plain statistics, which means luck is still a prominent factor, and I'm sure that this made a better investor and gave you experience so that in it self is a value
606  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: May 10, 2014, 07:05:06 PM
Maybe he does write his own songs, but why does that not make him ok?
How do you make someone "ok"?

Perhaps it would be easier to answer if the question was, how do you make someone KO?

Aren't there many ways to make someone KO we know off?
607  Other / Off-topic / Re: It's official! The Bitcoin Foundation has an accused pedophile on its board. on: May 10, 2014, 07:03:03 PM
wow just wow, I guess detective Phinnaeus Gage at it again, I do understand that he should not be accused for such a thing unless proven guilty but from a reputation stand point, associating someone with such a bad reputation to the bitcoin fondation is not a good thing, I don't believe this is the kind of thing bitcoin needs right now. I guess money speaks here more than anything
608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kids Are Using Bitcoin to Buy Fake IDs Online on: May 10, 2014, 02:14:52 PM

I know I'm stating the obvious here but aren't they buying fake IDs and been doing so before Bitcoin? Bitcoin as any other currency or commodity can be misused but that doesn't change the fact that it has nothing to with it, but with the peoples that using it attention

Starcraft2 but it requires some mechanical skills besides the strategy side of things
610  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help me with this simple math! on: May 10, 2014, 02:03:41 PM
x^4 -37x^2 = -36

I would like to know how to solve it and the answer. Don't just give the answer I need to understand what is going on.

-Thanks for any help

x^4 -37x^2 = -36 (equation 1)

This problem is easy and can be solved in many different ways :

1-Smart way requires some thought process but much faster and exceptionally works here (I'll explain the thought process step by step): you'd notice immediately that 1 and -1 are evident solutions to the equation (always try this when you are solving polynomials if 0, 1, -1  if they are obvious solutions or not)
So this means you can factor by those solution and equation1 becomes (x-1)(x+1)(ax^2+bx+c)=0 (equation 2) btw (x-1)(x+1)= x^2-1 (remarkable identity,  I can say easily that a=1 since no factor in front of x^4 (identification factor by factor in a polynomial equation aka if ax^n+bx^(n-1)....=ux^n+ix^(n-1)... for every x from R <=> a=u, b=i,....  ), c is also easy if  -1*1*c=36 hence c=-36 all is left is b, well since in eq1 there is x^3 or x by default I can say b=0

So we have (x-1)(x+1)(x^2-36) =0 and we easily notice here that we have another remarkable identity x^2-36= (x-6)(x+6)
So at the end we have (x-1)(x+1)(x+6)(x-6)=0 hence -6 -1 1 6 are the solution of the equation

tl,dr :
x^4 -37x^2 +36 = 0 has -1 and 1 as obvious solutions so you can factorize by (x+1)(x-1) so the equation becomes (x+1)(x-1)(ax^2+bx+c)=0 a, b and c are easily identifiable (using the identification factor by factor method), a=1 b=0 c=-36 so we have (x+1)(x-1)(x^2-36)=0
x^2-36 is a remarkable identity (x-6)(x+6)=x^2-36 so the equation becomes (x-1)(x+1)(x+6)(x-6)=0 and you've got your solutions

2-More traditional way which is explained by Foxpup so I refer you to his reply which is by using a variable change by putting x^2=z and solving the problem as a second degree polynomial

I guess not only a lobster fisherman i would want to be a fighter/boxer.  Fighting has always come naturally to me and in my past i have had about 2 dozen fights in real life and in only 1 case i got the worst end of the stick Sad
Broken nose 4 times
Broken hand twice
Broken eye socket once
broken ribs 6
Broken toes 1
Stitches about 60

Hmmm not bad...

a wise man should know when to stop, I used to fight a lot in my teen years and post teen years , I also had broken fingers fractured hand, dislocked this and that, I stopped after a while, people nowadays for the smallest things, will take out a knife sometimes if for bluffing, but serious accident can happen over stupid things, better deal with thing in an intelligent way, of course when there is a line to be drawn is good to show once teeths but not all the time

women are scared of nerds like you that use bitcoin and searching for them that's why you don't see them Grin

jokes aside, bitcoin started and still mainly a geeky thing, and in the geek community women are already a minority, I think the women number will grow exponentially when bitcoin becomes a regular and mainstream thing

I don't think so.   Wink  Women are more about "touchy feely" and bitcoin is all about cold hard mathematics.
So what you are saying is that geeky stuff can be touchy and feely ? hmm Cheesy
618  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best energy drink on: May 03, 2014, 08:50:10 AM
i can't believe that people actually consume energy drinks.. it's so full of fucking sugar that i can feel myself getting diabetes drinking it. and then that caffeine high just makes me feel sick.

took the 5 hour energy drink once. never again.

I just consume it, when I don't sleep and have something important that requires concentration such as an interview or a presentation, but other than that no, some people consume them because they are addicted to them
