Time to bust this...

I just happened to look into this thread and I was intrigued by the features offered by XCloudCoin, but they didn't seem to add up..... the type of features offered don't quite seem feasible/decentralized or weren't adequately explained, and there weren't really any technical details explaining how this system would work. So then I scrolled down to the screenshots which gave away everything...

What all your "cloud features" are, is simply ownCloud : https://owncloud.org/. Which is open source "personalized" cloud software, that is neither decentralized, nor developed by XCloudcoin's dminer69. ownCloud is meant to be installed and run off a single server, meaning it's fully centralized, and all the "features" XCloudcoin provides is all from the ownCloud software.

dminer69 has not done any development whatsoever, he's just used ownCloud, rebranded it and "made" it into XCloudcoin, and fooled people into thinking that he's developed "cloud features". I've worked with ownCloud before and it's PHP-based software intended to run off a single server. So XCloudcoin is not decentralized and doesn't have any features. But I'm not calling this a scam yet...

Furthermore if you look closely at the last picture you'll see the "News" app (which is also open source and not developed by dminer69), which is one of the so called "features" XCloudcoin offers.

Now you decide, whether this is a scam or not, I've given you all the info. Before the die-hard fanatics/sockpuppets come after me, ask yourselves this question, if dminer69 was so trustworthy, why not mention the fact that XCloudcoin in its entirety was based wholly of ownCloud?

Are you calling Android a scam? Are you claiming any developer that uses the Android platform for their own apps didn't develop anything because it is open source? Lots of developers and companies use open source code to build on top of. Why start from scratch when someone else already laid the groundwork? They still have to customize the code and setup servers. When developers do the same thing every other developer does, people claim no innovation and call it a shitcoin. Then when developers try something new and innovative people claim scam and attack it. What is the incentive for devs to try new things if they are going to be attacked for trying?

Well you see there is a difference. I have no problem with anyone using Open Source code, but using it and then claiming all work to be yours, that is not correct. In Android, if an OEM decides to use Android they have to state that the phone they sell utilizes Android.

dminer69, has neither said nor given credit to the fact that XCloudcoin is wholly based on ownCloud. I wonder if the "angel investors" know about this. Finally, as you said, this is something new, but innovative? Hardly.

Furthermore, your account was created less than 2 days ago, and as a "Newbie" all you've done is post continuously in this thread. What does this sound like to you? Sockpuppet?
602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] XCloudcoin | Beta Invites | Profit Share | Decentralized anon |1 Millon on: August 08, 2014, 10:22:54 PM

He donīt need to mention that, cause itīs a "OPEN SOURCE", so thereīs no licences. Also, how you can say "itīs impossible" if the coin itīs not lauched? And, it can be scam cause the ico itīs on Bittrex, so if the dev donīt do what it says here on the lauch, he itīs not going to get the money from bittrex.

All the alt coins are based on Bitcoin, that makes alt coins scams? And bitcoin itīs based in a lot of crypto proyects, that makes bitcoin scam?

I never mentioned anything about licenses. I know that Bittrex is providing escrow, but I bet he was banking on the thought that nobody would find out about this before Bittrex handed over the escrow funds.

Now explain to me this :
  • Why exactly wouldn't dminer69 post that XCloudcoin is based fully on ownCloud?
  • Why would he claim that these are XCloudcoin's features when in fact it's just ownCloud rebranded?
  • Explain to me how XCloudcoin is supposed to be decentralized in any way when everything is hosted on one server.
  • Explain to me how dminer69, intends to create a wallet for a decentralized currency that needs to work inside software designed to run off a single server, especially when that software is PHP-based and there are few if any PHP-libraries for Bitcoin let alone other crypto-currencies.

Take a look at the login page for XCloudcoin and then for ownCloud notice the similarities. Now look at all the screenshots

dminer69 has not done any development whatsoever, he's just used ownCloud, rebranded it and "made" it into XCloudcoin, and fooled people into thinking that he's developed "cloud features". I've worked with ownCloud before and it's PHP-based software intended to run off a single server. So XCloudcoin is not decentralized and doesn't have any features. But I'm not calling this a scam yet...

Now let's go to the wallet we see in the screenshots. There are 1 of 2 posibilities.

1. The image is edited to make it seem like there is a wallet there (most likely based on previous findings)

2. dminer69 has to create PHP-libraries to make it an "app" that could fit into ownCloud (http://apps.owncloud.com/- this process is impossible thanks to the ownCloud framework and restrictions) for XCloudcoin that would allow it to somehow allow it be decentralized while operating off a single server (highly unlikely)

Now let's go back to the screenshots and take a look at the interface. Compare that to the interface of ownCloud 6 :

Furthermore if you look closely at the last picture you'll see the "News" app (which is also open source and not developed by dminer69), which is one of the so called "features" XCloudcoin offers.

Now you decide, whether this is a scam or not, I've given you all the info. Before the die-hard fanatics/sockpuppets come after me, ask yourselves this question, if dminer69 was so trustworthy, why not mention the fact that XCloudcoin in its entirety was based wholly of ownCloud?

@Devs

- Any update on the NodeBB Forum?
- Would it be possible to see some screenshots of the current desktop client?
- Any update on the Foundation Charter?

Forum will be up later today, though it will be SMF instead of nodebb due to stability issues. We are just moving hosting to avoid clumsy redirects. Screenshot below, board thumbnails to be added:

Why not use Discourse : http://try.discourse.org/ / http://try.discourse.org/categories then? Discourse is being used by MaidSafe (https://maidsafe.org/) & Ubuntu (http://discourse.ubuntu.com/)

SMF doesn't look or perform anywhere near as good as Discourse/NodeBB and has far less features than both of them.

I would be nice to get off SMF... Discourse does have a better look and feel... I know you guys have worked hard on the SMF forum already...

It takes less 10 minutes to set up an SMF Forum and probably 1 hour to customize it to get it to how it currently looks. With the amount of time you had available you could've researched for better forum software of which there are many. SMF is an old outdated piece of software that internet communities (outside of the crypto-scene) don't run because it looks hideous compared to other forum software.

Here are the suggestions which I posted a few weeks back. To those interested take a look at these and compare them to SMF and you'll see what a difference it makes :

Majestic v4 Theme for NodeBB : http://convoe.com/ (Used on Convoe, this was something I discussed for quite some time)

Customized Discourse Forum : http://discourse.ubuntu.com/

Hey GreXX

One question about the cross-platform installer. Is it a one-click installer or just a software container like QT?

Keep up the great work Smiley

So do I understand correctly that you lost money if you bought in on the presale?

Wrong.

LOL ha ha

So what % of profit are you at right at this moment?

Do your homework and check for yourself.

you are just full of laugh today

If you cant prove it. It didn't happen. Maybe you did not make much basically people selling off for what they paid, THIS IS MY GUESS. I am not troll on Crypti. I belive it will a success.

But like they says, everyone mad around here. Includes you.

It's hand is weak and you have to take out on me?

Cheer up guys if you haven't lost your money, But you have lost profits?

No one is mad here except you. The thread is full of info which you can use to estimate the profits we are currently sitting on, yet you choose to continue posting claims that are baseless and untrue. You are now making thinly disguised posts trying to spread false information while claiming to support Crypti.

Anyone with a sliver of knowledge would realize that we've already made a 50% profit, before Crypti has even launched. So tell me now, what is it exactly that have we lost?

I find it funny how many trolls/FUDders have posted in the last few pages. I also find it funny that investors have already received 50% profit before launch and the trolls have got nothing.

So trolls keep on doing your thing while we watch our investments rise

I have noticed several people recommending we negotiate with Poloniex to be listed at launch. I am unfamiliar with this exchange but will bring it up to the team and look into it.

If anyone would like to get together a list of reputable exchanges that they would like to see Crypti on, I will work on trying to get in touch and see what our options are.

The standard ones seem to be : bittrex, poloniex, cryptsy and mintpal. At the lower end side of things there is c-cex, swisscex, austin global, etc. I wouldn't bother with most of the smaller exchanges to start with, though.

Poloniex would be a good choice to go after. Bittrex and Cryptsy would be good choices too.

AGX has closed, c-cex, swisscex are sketchy IMO. I really like poloniex as well and truly hate Craptsy. But lots of volume there. Mintpal has has a serious breach that has shaken alot of peops confidence. Don't worry about Mint, when the volume is high enough they will add just to get there Slice of the pie. Actually Craptsy will as well.

Since Moolah is taking over Mintpal perhaps they can do something to secure customer confidence in the future.  Personally, I won't trade at Cryptsy.  I can deal with Bittrex, Poloniex and Bter.

On a side note, how do you all feel about Moolah as a company? After reading articles about Alex Green and a little bit of the history there I am not sure what to think.

From what I've read, Moolah as a company is terrific, but Alex Green as a CEO is terrible. There's a ton of controversy surrounding him (not Moolah) regarding events in the Dogecoin community :

- http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/leaked-video-moolah-ceo-threatens-legal-action-dogecoin-creator/2014/07/04

I'd say the only hindrance to Moolah is the bad PR that Alex Green has brought upon himself and as a result the company.

How's things going with the NodeBB forum? Any update on that?

Bitseed is on it, encountered some deployment issues (Ubuntu packages), working to solve it and launch soon.

nodeBB is running, creating admin users now

Great! Last question, will you be using the Majestic v4 theme on NodeBB, like GreXX mentioned?
