621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Like An Orphan on: November 07, 2019, 06:10:20 PM
Why don't we have people doing this for btc adoption. This would encourage newbies like us. https://www.cryptoinfowatch.com/roger-ver-gives-away-free-bitcoin-cash-believes-it-would-be-worth-5000-in-future/
You think just giving bitcoin freely away would help in the global adoption of cryptocurrencies? No way, what people need is to get to know the shortfalls of the current financial payment system then get to know the solution that blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies offer. Only then would they reason up to accepting to use bitcion instead of fiat currency. Shilling has never been the solution.
622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Staking on Coinbase is now LIVE on: November 07, 2019, 05:30:34 PM
This is great. I think in no time most exchanges would be hosting staking platforms alongside listing these masternode coins.  But i don't think just enabling staking on coinbase might have caused this pump. I believe the team is doing a great job which other potential investors on Coinbase noticed and bought into it when staking was enabled. I wish all other projects could do same for us to see real value of all these projects that have been launched in this industry.
623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Good ICO Review Sites on: November 07, 2019, 11:47:59 AM
Hello guys !
I was just looking around and theres so many garbage repost websites outthere about different ICOs.  I wanted to know if theres one that you know doesn't present every idea as great. A very critical good Review site that tends to get it right you know. anyway thanks appreciate your input.
The cryptosphere has been flooded with so many scam sites who only care about shilling projects for their own gains. Ideally these sites were supposed to get crypto enthusiast well informed about blockchain projects but they rather throw dust in the eyes of the community. However, i found a website lately which i think give's their fair view about crypto projects. You can look it up over here: https://cryptoadventure.org/ they have great services off which you can make use of in case you want to launch your project.
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 3 Concerns You Have For Bitcoin on: November 07, 2019, 05:17:05 AM
Well Bitcoin is being used by some countries in their day to day transactions just that not too often. My greatest concern is about the mass adoption of bitcoin by the entire globe to be used as a digital currency for the purchases of items. Sometimes i feel this dream my never come to a reality. The volatility of bitcoin will always be a great hindrance to bitcoin being accepted as a currency which can be used in our day to day transactions.
625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Will not Ban Bitcoin Mining! on: November 06, 2019, 11:47:46 PM
That's true, China would definitely not ban Bitcoin because the government is aware of the income that all these bitcoin mining companies make and also the number of people whom they have hired to be working with them. Banning Bitcoin will certainly make people not have jobs to do and also bring about huge losses among these big mining companies.
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 3 Things You like To learn on: November 06, 2019, 07:30:48 PM
For all of you who follow various content creators to Crypto?

what are 3 elements or pieces of information you like to see?

That the content creators may be missing out?

What would you like to see?

What would make you generate interest towards a specific content creator?

And how is this related to Bitcoin discussion that you have it in here. It's quite strange that others are also making comments without really looking at the topic under discussion and the board in which this has been made. Please i suggest you move this to maybe the offtopic discussion or somewhere suitable and not in the Bitcoin discussion board.
627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 bitcoin risks you should know when investing in bitcoin on: November 06, 2019, 02:24:11 PM
Security risks
As with any system, Bicoin transactions are at risk of being hacked, malware and malfunctioning during operation. If a hacker gains access to the Bitcoin owner's computer hard drive and steals the private key, he can transfer the stolen Bitcoin to another account.
A particularly notorious theft took place in 2014, when Mt. Gox, a Bitcoin exchange in Japan, was forced to shut down after Bitcoin worth millions of dollars was stolen.

I do understand some of your mentioned risks but i think you are going to far just to make known some risks that are inevitable even with fiat currency. Are so called banks not robbed or even their safe broken into by thieves to steal the money of its users? Come on mate, a hacker having physical access to someone's hardware is just as robbing a bank.

Fraud risks
Because the issuance of cryptocurrencies, ICOs etc. has not been regulated by the government yet, scammers can sell fake bitcoin. For example, in July 2013, the SEC took legal action against a Ponzi program operator related to Bitcoin.
Can you give a reference to this because i don't really know about this and how fake bitcoin was minted when i know perfectly the bitcoin network will not approve of any suspicious transaction.
628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think IEO is more legit if launch on big exchnages like Binance? on: November 06, 2019, 01:35:38 PM
I think it is a bit more legit if an IEO is launch on bigger exchanges. Because they know that it can be very hard to enter big exchanges and convince them that your project is very useful and insight of having a very solid future to get funds using them. What's you opinion on this? Do you think there are other reasons if they choose other small exchange platforms?
Launching an Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) on a big exchange platform in a way exposes the project to a larger community of investors. This however makes such an exchange platform conduct the necessary research about the project to ensure its legitimacy at least to some extent. This should not make you rely solely on the analysis of the exchange but you should also go further and confirm things yourself by doing your own research as well about the project.

One possible reason that make most projects prefer to go with smaller exchange is the low listing fees that they are charged for the IEO. Exchanges like Binance, Bittrex charge very high fees.
629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Impact on gambling on: November 06, 2019, 11:02:57 AM
Experience they say is the best teacher hence i would prioritize that over the other factors in terms of its impact on gambling. Once you have the experience then it means you have advanced past just having mere knowledge about the gambling activity. Anybody can be lucky but you need to be able to play your cards well when an opportunity pops up your way otherwise you would waste that luck.
630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized Application (Dapp) on: November 06, 2019, 08:42:55 AM
I'm curious about storing our assets online, mostly online wallets. Do you think there's possibility the developer collect our address, especially our private key?
I usually store my coins on a paper wallet and we all know storing in a cold wallet is the safer way to secure all assets.
Do you think it's secure to import our address to an app? Is there any identification of a real decentralized application to trust our keys.
I understand your fears in trusting these crypto applications with your funds but sometimes we just can't do without them especially if you want to have access to your funds at any point in time. It will not be convenient enough to always be carrying your computer around in order to have access to your laptop lol hence you need to use popular and well-known blockchian applications such as Blockchain app, trust wallet or better still get to using hardware wallets such as Ellipal, Ledger etc.
631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm planning to invest in Tron Coin on: November 06, 2019, 08:00:24 AM
Recently there are so many projects are launching under Tron platform and more will be in future like telegram projects are planned .

And I'm watching Tron price from last few days its getting better day by day so this is the best time to invest in Tron Coins?

Yeah, Tron network is gaining popularity among decentralized applications currently and it's posing a competitive threat to its counterpart Ethereum. This however would make me invest in TRON itself and not its coins because all those projects that are launched on tron network would go a long way to increase the price of TRX on the market.

Another subtle reason is that, the upcoming proof of stake protocol which is yet to be implemented by Ethereum can boost TRON market if not implemented to suit the entire crypto industry than a couple of whales especially from the Ethereum Foundation.
632  Economy / Economics / Re: Asset backed cryptocoins? on: November 06, 2019, 02:18:17 AM
Fiat or commodity backed cryptocurrencies surely have a great part to play in the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies. Traders can conduct their trades with safety and harbor any fears of crypto market volatility the next day. i think bitcoin, ethereum and other major altcoins would be regarded as store of value by most crypto enthusiats instead of using it in our daily transactions.
633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Deleting wallet software for more security? on: November 06, 2019, 12:43:29 AM
Hi, I'm using the blockstream green wallet on Android. I've written down my seed phrase and keep it safe and secure. Can I now uninstall/delete my green wallet app? to be less vulnerable to theft/hacking.

I can still receive but not spent this way right? Should I create a couple of addresses beforehand?

And if I want to spent/exchange, I just download green wallet app again and use the seed phrase to recover my wallet?

Can anyone confirm this is all correct?

Thank you
That's all correct but it feels like a tiring task to me if you would have to install and uninstall every time you need to spend your cryptocurrencies. The best thing to do is to make sure you have saved those pass phrase somewhere no one else would have access to you except you. Also,  add extra security such as google authentication, sms notification per log ins, withdrawal etc. All these would help keep your wallet safe and no need to go through that stress all for the sake of safety reasons.
634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Africunia [AFCASH] website hacked - Users beware! on: November 05, 2019, 08:25:36 PM
This is quite unfortunate and it's so pathetic that the administrators of the platform don't show much concern about the problem. These series of hacks should send a strong warning to everyone out there not to hold their funds on very new platforms because they are quite susceptible to security breaches. Don't also forget to authorize 2FA and other secondary security mechanisms just to give extra security to you account on such platforms.
635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stellar burned half of it's supply and Price Spikes on: November 05, 2019, 07:36:21 PM
The Stellar Foundation burned half of its digital token’s supply of around 55 billion XLM feed an approximate value of $ 4.7 billion were burned. On Monday, the foundation announced that they have done this for network growth. The announcement made during the stellar Meridian Conference by the CEO of stellar Foundation, Denelle Dixon.

Source: TheCoinRepublic
Coin burn, coin swap has always been a remedy to helping increase the price and growth of a cryptocurrency. This was actually an insane and bold step from the Stellar Foundation but this has not affected the price that much to be honest Sad unless you bought loads of it. Stellar has great blockchain network with great features such as issuance of other cryptocurrency on its network. Their team should really promote their products so that other upcoming projects can make use of their services which would go a long way to grow their network.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Technology "bottled" up on: November 05, 2019, 04:21:41 PM
I have always had this strong feeling that the global adoption of blockchain technology would take place soon whiles its twin partner cryptocurrencies would take quite a long time. It's a great feeling to hear such a big company like Coca Cola stepping up on the front to adopt the blockchain technology. This would serve as a good exposure about the technology to other equally famous industries across the globe.
637  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Invest your XRP/BTC/LTC/ETH/Paypal/Skrill/Neteller 200% profit on: November 05, 2019, 02:48:05 AM
I doubt the authenticity of this giveaway unless maybe, somebody really confirm with a transaction id of having received the payouts. However, some hackers might play smart by allowing just a few transactions go through  and once those are done the subsequent customers who rush to benefit from this website giveaway get scammed.
638  Economy / Speculation / Re: One more dump before halving? on: November 05, 2019, 02:31:59 AM
The market has been having some extreme form of volatility but i doubt we would suffer that massive dump you are talking about. Definitely most people are happy about the upcoming bitcoin halving and a massive dump before that would be a strategy to squeeze the hands of crypto noobs of their bitcoins. Don't fall for any massive dump if it ever comes because May 2020 is just around the corner.
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's worse: cigar addiction or gambling addiction on: November 05, 2019, 12:35:49 AM
I know this topic was, but I'm interested in explaining why you would compare these two things that have only one thing in common, addiction. Why compare them if they are two different terms.
Eg for cigars we give money and have no profit, while for gambling we give money and there is a possibility of getting money. In the world, these two topics are crucial, but why Huh
Whether the addiction is a mental deficiency or simply as a love for something?
When someone loves a sport is he or she addicted?
Cigarette smoking and gambling are two different activities that one can get addicted to it. Each of them is harmful in a way. Gambling can ruin the financial standings of any individual and this can make that person resort to social vices such as stealing, promiscuity etc. On the other hand, smoking cigarette can harm the one doing it as well as standby neighbours who are classified as second hand smokers. Cigaretter smokers earn up with heart problems as well as serious and complicated lung diseases.
What ever your case maybe do everything in moderation and abstain from these if you can!
640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XinFin (XDCe) guilty of wash trading on: November 04, 2019, 11:02:02 PM
XDCe is guilty of wash trading. Sec investigating # Source Pair Volume (24h) Price Volume (%) Category Fee Type Updated 1 Mercatox Mercatox XDCE/ETH $85,267

Please staY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM.we HAVE LOST OUR MONEY.

Thanks for the heads up @OP but wash trade and fake volumes have always been in the crypto industry for quite sometime now. It would be so heartbreaking to tell you that even popular and renowned exchanges in this industry have some sort of fake volumes at some point in time. The worst of exchange platforms with severe form of wash trades and fake volumes are HitBtc, Yobit, Latoken etc.
