621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi should be in Time's influnetial person of the decade list on: December 04, 2019, 02:23:31 PM
This is a great idea but the chances of him getting to the list of influencers. I don't think it's possible for an anonymous figure to get to that list, at least, they would require an interview with him and it's not going to happen. One thing Satoshi wants is keeping his identity and that's always help bitcoin, we can't predict what might happen if he decides to reveal his identity.

623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin investment on: December 04, 2019, 10:30:44 AM
Its a difficult advice to anyone in this forum and the forum almost have an anthem to invest only what you can afford to lose. Invariably a high number of members had invest their fortune in bitcoin at their own risk, and they have made a big return. Whereas some members loss, its just a difficult advice, take all decision with wisdom here at you own risk
Invest the money that afford to lose is the best strategy that we can use but if we will invest our money we should not put in in one investment. We should spread it to 3 or 4 parts. My diversification of investment is into 3 parts where I allocate my capital to 3 different parts which is 33% in every investment.

Or better still, invest from your profit/miscellaneous and not what you have in mind as capital/budget for something else. Some people think of using the money they have as budget for something to invest in crypto would yield them good return in short period which is wrong. There's always two sides.
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are the world’s governments not using cryptocurrencies? on: December 04, 2019, 08:35:16 AM
We can't trust the government 100% on this and i am sure there are some people in the government that are already making use of a privacy coins to make anonymous transactions. Some bank workers are already transacting with bitcoin. Some in the government knows about crypto and shows interest but what is keeping them back is FUD and threats.
625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Truly Random is Random on: December 03, 2019, 09:16:20 PM
Randomness becomes less fair in some gambling situations like when the winning streak starts getting high, the system starts to favour those with less bet. The probability of you winning a high odd with a little stake is mostly low and vice versa . So, I don't consider most results of every random to fair when it comes to gambling.
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today is GivingTuesday. List of charities that accept Bitcoin on: December 03, 2019, 08:39:34 PM
Heads up on that one. Using crypto as mode of payment to charity organisations is really a good a idea as you won't have to go through much stress.
Here is also a thread of a Bitcointalk Charity Program you may want to add that to your list too.
627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What other uses does Blockchain have aside from Cryptocurrency? on: December 03, 2019, 06:55:16 PM
Blockchain can be used used for so many things and only few coins has use case for their coin. Most of the ICOs promised usecases but failed at the end.
Blockchain has so many use cases which include Fundraising(security token), Digital Identity, Real Estate, Airtime Recharge and so on.
628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Practical "Self-Exclusion" from Bitcoin Gambling Websites on: December 03, 2019, 12:47:23 PM
This isn't  bad idea to stop your addiction from gambling and there is also a method you could try out. The best possible way to stay out of it is to shut down the gambling account, get some of this apps that help in blacklisting some url. That way,  your mind would draw back from the addiction.
629  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Information and Guide] How to pay with Bitcoin and where to use it. on: December 03, 2019, 05:48:51 AM
Thanks for the comments and suggestions, I have added some more website links and images. You can bring more suggestions under the comments sections but adding them to my thread will make it an unending list.

-Low transaction fees, compared to other payment methods which are 2% or 3%.
Hmm I think this information is outdated. As of now, bitcoin has a higher transaction fees compared to any other cryptocurrency in the market. This makes bitcoin an impractical payment method for purchasing a small amount of goods.

People spend an average of $10 - $25 worth of bitcoin for their transaction. These transaction fees are given to the miners as a reward for their hardwork to include the transaction into the blockchain.

AFAIK, the solution for this problem is bitcoins Lightning Network.

In Bitcoin, you don't pay certain amount of percentage of the amount you want to transact as fee. Bitcoin fee only rises when there's a lot of pending transactions.
630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that governments might one day ban Cryptos? on: December 02, 2019, 09:36:31 PM
Well, you have already answered your question in your question. There's no way to stop the blockchain from existence. These two needs each others, both the bank and crypto. The adoption is going to happen but not everyone would want to save there money in crypto or banks. We all have reasons to choose wherever we want but the government seems to only think about themselves alone, sure there are people in the government that are fan of a coin.
631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Enforcing government regulations on: December 02, 2019, 06:59:00 PM
I will partially agree to your point because it's true that the government can regulate a cryptocurrency or the taxes for miners and other stuffs like that, but they cant regulate Blockchain in general, because the decentralisation will be off if they do that. There are privacy coins in which we can use to bypass them.
632  Other / Beginners & Help / [Information and Guide] How to pay with Bitcoin and where to use it. on: December 02, 2019, 07:12:08 AM
What is Bitcoin?
-According to Wikipedia Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency. It is a decentralized digital currency without a central bank or single administrator that can be sent from user to user on the peer-to-peer bitcoin network without the need for intermediaries.

How does it works?
-Based on bitcoin.org Bitcoin uses peer-to-peer technology to operate with no central authority or banks; managing transactions and the issuing of bitcoins is carried out collectively by the network. Bitcoin is open-source; its design is public, nobody owns or controls Bitcoin and everyone can take part. Through many of its unique properties, Bitcoin allows exciting uses that could not be covered by any previous payment system.

Here are the questions that this topic will answer:
  • How can I use it?
  • Can I buy things with it?
  • Are there any stores that accept it?
  • How many countries accept bitcoin as payment?

There is a survey that shows what is the most popular payment method and it's kinda interesting because I saw that someone uses Cryptocurrency as a method of payment. The Kaspersky Lab Global IT Security Risks Survey 2018 is a study into the state of consumer attitudes towards their money and financial security online.

Kaspersky surveyed 12,448 consumers in 22 different countries.

We all know that there is someone that uses bitcoin to buy a pizza but it's not direct and uses third party to order the pizza but now just look where the crypto has come, we can now buy stuffs with cryptocurrency that we have but mostly they only accept bitcoin.

Bitcoin is very easy to use and for me, it's very accessible and easy to buy but it's costly
  • Set Up your Bitcoin Wallet- This is where we should store the bitcoin, but there are many types so choose an appropriate wallet.
  • Purchase and Transfer Bitcoin to your Wallet-There are some wallets that you can convert cash directly which is very convenient, and there are exchanges where you can trade bitcoin.
  • Trade using your wallet- And lastly you can use and transfer the bitcoin in your wallet.

Bitcoin as a method of Payment

Pros
-User identity protection
-No third-party intervention
-Low transaction fees, compared to other payment methods which are 2% or 3%.
-Quick and safe international payments
-Lower fraud risks for buyers, because there is signature verification in bitcoin and it's a direct peer to peer transaction.
-It's very accessible and very easy to use especially when using a mobile wallet.

Cons
-Susceptible to High Price Volatility
-No Chargebacks or Refunds

What can I purchase with Bitcoin and where?

There are hundreds and thousands of stores and retailers from around the world that accepts bitcoin as a payment and there are sites that help you and allows you to purchase different products with it. or the Bitcoin Products Search Engine.

Funds are held by me.

It will be better if you drop a wallet address which you are sending the payout from and sign a message from it or use an escrow service. You should check this thread of escrow

636  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [xShop] shopereum.io – Optimizing Digital Transactions and Digital Marketing on: November 30, 2019, 06:47:12 PM
This isn't even close to launch because you need crowdfunding for you to be able to achieve all you've stated on the website. It would be more decent if you created an ANN Thread in the altcoin section of this forum for better publicity. You should include infos like the team background and some important details.
You can get someone to help you create a professional announcement thread in the Service section if you know you can't.

638  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Approx $50M In Ethereum stolen from Upbit Exchange on: November 30, 2019, 04:26:49 PM
Funds are no longer safe with these exchanges and that's the reason why it's very unsafe to use them for storing our crypto assets. So many hacks have happened in this year alone especially on big exchanges.
It will be very difficult for the upbit hackers to trade the stolen coins

640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hard Wallet Privacy on: November 29, 2019, 08:03:26 PM
Best is to use mixing service or use web wallet like coinbase, bitpay and others before sending it to the mixing service.
BTW, you shouldn't be really disturbed about someone kidnapping you because you won't air your address on your YouTube channel. There are many donators on YouTube that never had any problem with security and privacy.
