641  Economy / Securities / Re: 📈 NastyFans: The Bitcoin Enthusiast Fan Club (est. 2012) on: March 21, 2021, 02:13:03 AM
NastyFans currently has 16.801 BTC and this amount divided by 30,000 seats that are outstanding is 0.00056. I believe there are over a thousand seats that are not owned by anyone, so the actual BTC amount allocated to each seat is higher.

In terms of BTC, NastyFans has not been a good investment. In terms of USD it was a good investment when compared to the stock market.

The seats were on the market for months, and were the lowest offer for months. I had suggested privately that allowing people to post bids for seats would help with price discovery. This is similar to what the newbie posted a few posts up. I do understand the hesitation of taking user deposits to pay for bids.

I haven’t been following the returns on mining investments as of the last several years. I would think the difficulty wouldn’t have gone up as much as it has if miners would have been much better off simply buying bitcoin and holding for 6 years.
642  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is Theymos really a lauda? on: March 20, 2021, 03:23:01 AM
There is not much of a reason for anyone to trust SM (being honest), and I don't think lauda would have voluntarily given her personal information to SM. I know of two people that know who lauda is, and they both have been successfully trusted with a lot. SM does not fit that description. If SM has roots in Croatia, then maybe she was able to figure out who lauda is, idk.

One of those "two people" no doubt is the very trustworthy source who informed you about Lauda's pill addiction LOL. It's amazing how you still think that this nonsense you say about you knowing some "secrets" might impress anyone here after you've lied so many times.
No, I was clear about my source regarding the baseless information I received that lauda had a pill addiction:
Quote
The information I received was from someone who I trusted at the time, but I have seen to bend and stretch the truth. A review of my other private conversations with this person reflects even more egregious examples of this, including examples of while I cannot affirmatively say is a lie, some representations are what I would consider to be dishonest.

Over the years, people have told me things. I am guessing the person who told me they know lauda's IRL identity is reading this, and they can post to confirm if they wish (I don't recall if this same person was the one who told me about the 2nd person who knows lauda's identity). If they don't, thats fine too. Either way, I don't care if you believe me or not.
643  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is Theymos really a lauda? on: March 20, 2021, 02:53:32 AM
Why did laudaM remove the M? Theymos surname apparently is M
Lauda did not value her privacy in her early days as much as she did in her later days. She changed her display name when she was a mod, and it could have been done to improve her privacy.

I think if anyone is lauda or knows lauda in RL it is suchmoon.
I have serious doubts about this. I am not aware of evidence that SM speaks Croatian (why do you say this?). Lauda and SM have very different personalities, and they are different enough for me to believe they are different people.

Lauda is here. Nobody really leaves for good after being strongly involved.
Maybe just lurking maybe under another sock.

This I believe. Lauda is good at maintaining her privacy, so it probably wont ever be known what lauda's new account is. I would find it hard to believe that Lauda actually left the forum. There is a chance she was using a new account before she stopped using her lauda account. All of this is of course speculation.
644  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is Theymos really a lauda? on: March 18, 2021, 04:52:24 AM
Laura was more likely to be a QS alt than theymos..
lol, I can attest to that statistic.

Who knows...

If you've ever read the disrespectful way that the person that goes by the dubious user profile name "Lauda" trash talks about women (both specific women and women in general), then you'll be under no illusions that "Lauda" is in fact a man

Evidently, you do not actually know any actual real-life women.

I was having an especially bad several -.....that response was legitimately funny.
645  Economy / Securities / Re: 📈 NastyFans: The Bitcoin Enthusiast Fan Club (est. 2012) on: March 14, 2021, 10:37:42 PM
I might suggest using x dollars per month to repurchase seats and use them for giveaways.

I do really really like the idea!

One issue for seat holders is the lack of liquidity in the auctions. There is only a "sell side" but the buy side of the order book is missing.
Regular seat purchases would make the seat market more liquid.

Its like a stock buyback program: good for the remaining seat holders!

What to do with the seats that have been bought back is another question   Cool

I don’t think using our funds to manipulate the market is a good thing for anyone and nonnakip has stated he does not want to have fans depositing funds to hold on the site.

The market looks like there’s demand for seats.. There were just a couple hundred seats traded after being listed only a few days. The problem is that sellers are asking more than buyers want to pay. The current lowest priced seat is nearly double the price of the last sale. I would recommend potential sellers list their seats for sale closer to the last sale price if they want them to sell.
Those seats were actually listed for sale for several months, they sold a few days after being listed at rock bottom prices, below their share of bitcoin that NF has in savings.
646  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for Campaign manager on: March 14, 2021, 05:14:53 AM
I would vouch for Hhampuz as a campaign manager. He is professional.

His thread is below:

647  Economy / Reputation / Re: Chipmixer campaign by the constant pressure of the hypocrite? on: March 09, 2021, 11:48:52 PM
Yes, the pressure campaigns against CM are all about money. CM pays a lot more than any other campaign. Part of this could be that CM has so many spots, so it is well represented in many different communities in the forum. Most other campaigns have only a handful of spots, and most campaign managers do not put as much effort into trying to maximize exposure throughout the forum.
648  Other / Meta / Re: Get Donator status by donating 10 BTC on: March 02, 2021, 11:41:17 PM
I doubt anyone would ever donate 10 BTC these days  Tongue

Elon Musk would, someone mention it to him.   Surely he appreciates the foundations of what he has come to appreciate.   I think it was the bug section or submit thread where the amounts were linked to gold rather then BTC exactly, which has also risen but is far more level over time as its supposed to be in theory.
I don't think Elon Musk is going to give theymos five million dollars.
649  Economy / Reputation / Re: TecShare - Farewell my friend. on: February 25, 2021, 01:23:09 AM
Understand that noob..
Say one more bad thing about TS in this thread and your profile will be wearing a link to it for all of eternity..

It's healthy for people to want to talk about it, and some people probably didn't like him.  But if you just want to bitch without reason, I agree to do it in another thread.

I'm interested in learning more about his incident, since I was the last person to talk with him here, and I know stress kills.  (Some people hope for that!)  I doubt my insignificance mattered much to him, but I find myself wondering if maybe he had just lost someone due to covid-19 and his body just said "that's enough for me".   Our brains cannot adjust for the amount of stress everyone is facing at the same time.

Best thing we can do to preserve his memory Eddie, is to not feed the flames; ignore these idiots.  Smiley    And maybe let's push OG/Theymos to spend a little of the donated millions on stress reduction initiatives?

We have no reason to believe it was sars-cov-2 related, TEC already had a history of high bp and around 3 years back he had a stroke.
So more likely than not it is linked to that.
We can't fully discard it too, but knowing him and the extent of care he took with such things I highly doubt he ever got infected. Let's just say I would be very surprised if it was the case, but we certainly can't discard it.
I think Vod was saying that TS had lost a loved one to Covid, and had died from the stress related to losing his loved one.
650  Economy / Reputation / Re: TecShare - Farewell my friend. on: February 25, 2021, 01:07:47 AM
certain comments and conducts from members in this thread have highlighted just how low some people can fall even in times of learning about the death of a human being
This really is too bad. If you don't have anything nice to say about a dead person, you shouldn't say anything at all. A dead person is unable to defend themselves.
651  Economy / Reputation / Re: TecShare - Farewell my friend. on: February 23, 2021, 08:37:15 PM
TS was a longtime member of the forum and over the years, he had a falling out with several forum members, including the administration. I hope that he knew that (with one exception) the forum members he didn’t always see eye to eye to were not mad at him personally (but rather had policy disagreements).

TS was a very principled person and was willing to stand up for what he thought was right, even if not expedient.

I hope that anyone who doesn’t have anything nice to say will keep it to themselves.

RIP.

lol, you are trying to protect the Hedge Funds on Wall Street by keeping Wall Streeet Bets banned Cheesy

lol /s

OP, you should wait the 30 days your ban will last, and take it as a lesson learned.
653  Economy / Securities / Re: 📈 NastyFans: The Bitcoin Enthusiast Fan Club (est. 2012) on: February 17, 2021, 03:02:29 AM
Anybody got any ideas what we should do with the more than half a million dollars we have sitting around?
If this is in BTC, it would be worth a lot more today.

I am curious to hear seat holders' thoughts on a substantial distribution of money we have in savings. I think it is probably fair to say that we are in a bubble right now, and prices for miners are not favorable. By my back-of-the-envelope calculations, we currently have about 0.000536BTC per seat in savings, and seats are not being purchased on the auction at that price, meaning the market is not supporting the value of NastyFans' liquid assets.
654  Economy / Reputation / Re: Campaign to exclude Vod from DT. Please join me. on: February 17, 2021, 02:53:15 AM
To answer your question, I think someone shouldn't be able to get away with many "bad ratings". I don't think this should be a percentage, but rather a raw number, and that number should be very low. I would also view a "bad rating" that is being defended but may not necessarily agree with differently than a "bad rating" in which is not being defended. IMO the later should be viewed much more harshly, and should not be tolerated.

This is so absurdly specific, probably a projection based on something you've done.

A bad rating/flag is bad regardless if it's defended by the person who posted it, "supporters", sockpuppets, what have you. A good rating/flag is good regardless of who may try to discredit it.
The question of if a rating is good or bad is subjective. Different people view things different ways. Someone not defending a questionable rating is a sign they don't actually believe in the rating, but are rather leaving the rating up for personal reasons.
655  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Reference] Lending board spammers and scammers. on: February 17, 2021, 02:45:07 AM
This sounds a lot like opening a flag for having opinions. Not getting along with certain forum members does not make a person 'high risk'.

As for the loan request, he was clear as to what he was doing.

Yes, it's my opinion that he's high risk, and it's my opinion that he was clear about his request.  He posted in the lending board, not in the currency exchange board.  He asked to take a "'loan', if you can call it that," not a purchase with an optional full refund.  Which mean's he'll buy your bitcoin if the price goes up, but borrow it from you if the price goes down.  That's not a loan, that's a scam.

Feel free to disagree.
I think you could say the same thing about any loan request secured by collateral on the lending board. That is why lenders should protect themselves by securing collateral far above the value of the loan, and insisting on terms regarding automatic liquidation of collateral if market conditions go against the borrower.
656  Economy / Reputation / Re: A Single User With Multiple Accounts: Are There Reasons For Them Being Accepted? on: February 17, 2021, 02:40:03 AM
I would say it wouldn’t be unreasonable if someone who has a sales thread uses their alt account to ask a frequently asked question so long as the question is answered quickly so not to result in two bumps that seriously affect where the thread is located.
So:
LoyceMobile: Hey LoyceV, how much Forkcoin dust do I need to split my coins?
LoyceV: Thank you for your interest LoyceMobile, you only need to buy a very small amount.

That would violate this rule:
32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.
And it's just dumb Tongue If it's a FAQ, the answer could just be added to the OP.

That being said, I do sometimes post from my Mobile to notify my main account to check things.
You are correct, that is against the rules, but theymos does not enforce the rules that strictly. In your example, if the two posts were made 25 minutes apart, chances are the thread is not very far down on the 1st page, so it would not really be an extra 'bump'.

I am talking about a very small number of posts, not an ongoing conversation. Maybe 3 posts out of a thousand that someone makes. Is this something that is hurting anyone, or causing any real problems? The answer to this question is no. It might be a little tacky, but no one is getting hurt because of this.
657  Economy / Reputation / Re: ChipMixer directly enables Scammers, Drug Dealers, CP, Terrorists, Tax Evaders.. on: February 17, 2021, 02:30:08 AM
What FOMA did was wrong, but it was wrong because it involved deception. He did not steal from anyone, including CM, or otherwise hurt anyone. FOMA did provide benefits to the forum for being around by making many insightful posts -- I don't know if having him around was a net benefit, but I do think that is something open for discussion. CM on the other hand, helps criminals who have stolen money make it difficult for authorities to detect that this money is stolen -- in other words CM helps thiefs get away with stealing. As mentioned before I believe having CM around is a net benefit, but it is hypocritical to have zero tolerance for deception, and then turn around and be willing to look the other way when the company you are receiving payment from is profiting from illegal activity that harms people.
Like I said previously, people who want to defend the CM service alongside the community backlash against FOMA can probably make some argument based on the difference of granularity - probably something to do with the significance of their impact on the system/platform.
I don't think FOMA impacted the forum by enrolling his multiple alts in the CM campaign. If anything this resulted in more interesting posts that many people who are offended were able to read, when such posts are in short supply.
658  Economy / Reputation / Re: Campaign to exclude Vod from DT. Please join me. on: February 17, 2021, 02:26:40 AM
You don't agree with the feedback, yet you support his inclusion into DT thereby supporting his feedback...
This is something that should be discussed, though. The true threshold of unwarranted ratings that will make people start to question inclusions.

How many "bad ratings" should a single person get away with? What standards should the ratings uphold? Would be good to apply this to everyone in DefaultTrust, active or prospective, and see which members have a high percentage of false positives toward supposed scammers (or rather, false negatives). In reality, we should always redundantly tag accounts rather than relying on single points of failure. We should always move towards decentralization as opposed to against.
I think it should be clarified that there is a substantial difference between preemptively tagging someone and subsequently removing a tag after further consideration and/or additional evidence coming to light, and tagging someone wrongly and leaving the tag on the account.

In this case, I have not seen any posts from Vod even trying to defend his tag, and I have not seen anyone who supports Vod ask him publicly to reconsider his tag, or to try to defend his tag. Over the years, there have been other similar cases, in which Vod left a questionable tag, and he was never even pressured to defend his tag, his defenders simply said that Vod has left a lot of good ratings in the past, and that they are going to look past the questionable tag. There have also been other situations in which someone received a questionable tag from Vod, handled the situation poorly, and subsequently received additional tags after trolling and/or deciding to rage quit. The later is especially bad for the community because it effectively removes people from the community really for no reason.

659  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Reference] Lending board spammers and scammers. on: February 16, 2021, 02:59:40 AM
User scammed-by-nitro has earned himself a mention in this thread, and a tag-&-flag to go along with it.  His behavior suggests he's high risk for trading, and he's intent discrediting those making the lending board safe.  He's been trolling the lending board for a couple of weeks now.  The rampage started shortly after posting this gem of a loan request:

Hello.

I am currently looking for a "loan" if you want to call it that way.
My collateral would be cash and I would only deal in person in Taipei/Taiwan, I am european citizen though.

I dont really want to hold on the the btc so after the loan period I would prefer getting the collateral cash back . The loan will be paid in btc + interest in btc (or cash) of course.

Hit me up if you are around.

Meeting can be in a bank so verify authenticity of the money (I dont speak mandarin though).
I am looking to buy/loan for round 3000us$ which would be 84000NT$. ( I could give whole amount in NT$ or hald NT half US$ ).

Before anybody says I could buy from exchange, no I cant as I dont have resident status here so I cant open an exchange account. Also like I said I would prefer the cash collateral back without having to deal with btc price movements.

Essentially asking for someone to sell him BTC, with the option of returning it if the price goes down.  He practically says so himself by putting the word loan in quotes, adding "if you want to call it that way."  People tried to explain the flaws in his request, but narcissism can cause blindness.

Since then he's taken to trolling people who try to keep the Lending board safe from opportunistic wannabe scammers such as himself, a few examples:

Lil cvnt condoras already gave a fake neg feedback and I bet the other lil bitch Vod will be next.

If you dont like it just dont read it.

"Note that this isn't an official forum rule, it's just a rule that most lenders will follow."

You people posting this thread should actually read it before using it as an argument.

PS: Vod is a fking clown.

Did you see that you actually wanted to give him a loan on this occasion?

Please stop trolling and wasting other peoples time here. U did the same to me, this is childish and annoying.

660  Economy / Reputation / Re: A Single User With Multiple Accounts: Are There Reasons For Them Being Accepted? on: February 16, 2021, 12:13:26 AM
I don’t think forum rules around multiposting applies to someone posting from two accounts
IIRC there have been cases in the past of this happening - in particular, relating to bumps if memory serves.

In general, I don't think it's necessary to have a conversation with yourself. Any depth that you want to encompass in your post should simply be confined to a single account or better yet a single post - additional dialogue can be edited to the user's posts so I don't see how it can be constructive.
I wouldn’t be surprised if someone has been banned for bump spam involving multiple accounts. I also think a few people have been banned for running bump spam services.

I would say it wouldn’t be unreasonable if someone who has a sales thread uses their alt account to ask a frequently asked question so long as the question is answered quickly so not to result in two bumps that seriously affect where the thread is located.
