661  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Fuck you ledger on: November 11, 2023, 08:25:49 AM
So whoever wants to keep their crypto now should boycott Ledger as well as Trezor.
I do get the hate for Ledger but I do not understand why there is some hate here for Trezor too.  Other than their Seed extraction vulnerability and the possibility of pushing a malicious version of firmware or Trezor Suite.  Is there any thing I might have missed?

AFAIK, there is no security threat in the Trezor models but their censorship became questionable when their coinjoin partnership with Wasabi leaked users' addresses and they tried to hide by censoring users on Reddit and other platforms showing that they can't be trusted either.

Also, their hardware malfunctions become issues like LCD screens failing on multiple devices and lack of support from the team to make them be untrustworthy with my Bitcoin.

How to pull out the cash from electrum stored btc anonymously?

You can find someone where you live who wants to buy your BTC for fiat so that you no need any help from KYCed exchanges to cash out BTC to fiat but its the most incovenient way.

You can try bitcoin ATMs and if I am not wrong still there are ATMs which doesn't need KYC but again they are rare due to the regulations from governments are strict and they simply want to monitor every crypto transaction as far as they can.

Another option is BISQ or any no KYC p2p exchanges where you can find someone who wants to buy your Bitcoin for fiat.

Also, you can post your offer in the currency exchange section mentioning which fiat you want to transfer then you may find someone to trade with.
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What according to you should be the age to retire from gambling ? on: November 10, 2023, 05:26:05 PM
But I think that even old people can enjoy gambling.

Stupid question.

Does this even need a discussion?

Considering gambling as an entertainment factor so you are allowed to gamble as long as you are enjoying it. If you feel forced to stop doing it simply because people consider you are too old to enjoy then just F**K their ideology.

Gambling is not a job or anything, which one needs to retire from it. As long as you have the money and the passion to gamble, you can gamble at any age.

Even the old people can enjoy gambling as long as they are healthy. So enjoyment has no linked with age. You could be in your teenage and have tension about your exams, or you may be in your youth having tension about your job and there can be an old man with no tension and hence you can't compare his enjoyment level (in gambling) as compared to the other two.  Smiley

Actually post-retirement period is the age for an individual to enjoy their life because they run all these years behind in money, working 12 hours a day and everything to meet their family's needs so if someone at old age has the affordability to gamble then they should gamble and they know how to handle the finances better than half baked millennial mindset.

665  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: I have btc in my electrum wallet. How can I send lightning? on: November 10, 2023, 12:40:30 PM
Yes, its completely safe but you transaction has to meet the criteria to be eligible for free acceleration. You just have to provide the txid and if you're eligible then the TX will likely to be confirmed in the next one hour since viabtc has an average of mining one block per hour.
666  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: I have btc in my electrum wallet. How can I send lightning? on: November 09, 2023, 04:36:54 PM
...
How can I incorporate lightning right now (as a first time user) to recoup my loses in pending transaction fees and get the $8 to X pronto?

Appreciate your input!

First, you need to understand how lightning network transactions works which you can learn from Basics of the Lightning Network.

It doesn’t replace them completely because on-chain transactions are still needed for closing and opening payment channels.

So in your case lightning network will double the TX fee than the actual fee needed considering you need to open the channel and then fund it which needs on-chain TX for that you need to pay whatever fee is required at the moment and send it to the person X via lightning then while closing channel again you need to make an on-chain transaction.

667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Casinos Sponsor Sites That Deals With Gambling Addiction on: November 09, 2023, 03:04:46 PM
It is casinos' way to repay those who put in a lot of money and get addicted or they shouldn't care because it's the gamblers' initiative to play.

First of all, it helps related addiction, and they are supposed to have one due to the regulations.

For example, toll-free service is provided by the government itself and the number can be found on the packets themselves and in some countries it is mandatory to have a picture of cancer but you know that the efficiency of such is zero and no one is utilizing those services in my experience.
668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Out of curiosity, how much you wagered recently? on: November 09, 2023, 01:35:37 PM
How can we compete in some wagering wars and competitions against players who wager so much? Do we even have a chance? Smiley

Start your streaming channel, once you got some traffic for your live then casinos will approach you and sponsor the amount on your behalf of you on their own site and pay few pennies to the streamer and let them roll on and on. The streamer loses, the casino takes the money and if the streamer wins the winnings will go to a casino.

Don't be deceived by such advertising gimmicks and just focus on being a responsible gambler.
669  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: El salvador first to use lightning network in 2024 with bitcoin ATM upgrade on: November 09, 2023, 11:47:29 AM
El salvador who is the first country to make bitcoin a legal tender will now be the first country to have use lightning network in 2024, what this means?
withdrawal are fast, and less fee's which is good, unlike before that if you wan't to transfer fast you need to add more fee's it is also said that 3.7 % only have this kind of technology in crypto ATMS

The article doesn't even make complete sense, anyway, they try to interpret that Bitcoin ATMs will now support lightning deposits and sooner they will roll out the upgrade in their machines.

This is an existing concept, not sure its available on ATMs but exchanges implemented lightning network deposits a long way back so users can fund their exchange account instantly and this will be only helpful in situations like now when fees are too much due to spam TXs of tokens.
670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do your parents know about your gambling habit ? on: November 09, 2023, 10:15:46 AM
Most of the grown up people do not live with parents. At such, the parents are not aware about the interests and habits of individuals. Do you parents know that you gamble ? What was their first reaction towards your gambling habit ?
This is about an adult right?

An adult is someone who is capable of making their own choices, decision in their life and if they choose to gamble then its completely okay not to tell anyone as long as it doesn't affect you financially, mentally or in anyways.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What’s your strategy on high volatility slot game? on: November 08, 2023, 05:44:36 PM

Are betting fixed amount of spin on each game then move on to the next slot game after the you reach your target spin count or you wait to hit something big before you switch games.

In an event that you hit early huge multiplier, do you still play using same game or you immediately switch different game?

AFAIK, its most likely possible when betting mixed patterns because if you have a target and will move to hit only after hitting hit then 99/100 times your balance will be busted before hitting the target so never have a goal that can be achieved only through luck factor.

To answer the second question, if I hit a huge multiplier then I will bet once or twice more on the same and just move on to enjoy the day with big wins, my advice is never let greed to control your emotions/moments. Cheesy
672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some things you should always avoid while gambling ? on: November 08, 2023, 03:41:32 PM
While gambling! Why I don't see a point that is very common in an actual casino but wasn't mentioned by anyone.

This is for the players who is gambling on the physical casinos,

Avoid checking out the hot chick sitting near your opponent players at the table.

How many of you agree with my statement here? Cheesy
673  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 3 Days but have no 1st confirmation on: November 08, 2023, 08:44:33 AM
but sadly I can't increase my fees as it's already empty due to four times increase and low funds know how much time needed for having first confirmation as its staying here for 2 hours.

In electrum you have two options while use bump fee which is

Preserve payment and decrease payment

by default, it will be in preserve payment while the fee needed for RBF will be used from wallet balance and if your wallet has zero balance then you can switch to decrease payment which will take the required fee from the Transacted value and broadcast the remaining balance.
674  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 3 Days but have no 1st confirmation on: November 08, 2023, 08:29:02 AM

Today fourth time I increase fees which is now 5612 Satoshi $1.98 40.0 sat/vB it's nearly two hours lurking in last three blocks but still not having 1st confirmation any solution or guideline for this could be appreciated.

If you increased the fee to the 25sat range yesterday itself then your transaction could have been confirmed because there were times when 21sat TX was included in the blocks for a while.

Even now your TX will be included in the next block if you can increase the fee to 45sat/vb or you have to wait longer cuz the network is highly congested and often fee sky rockets to 100sat/vb.

Look at this chart to know where your TX is queue: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#BTC,2h,weight

Or just use https://mempool.space/ for a simplified view.

The fees are skyrocketing because of ORDINALS and Binance listing Ordinal token, if I'm not mistaken.

With 40 sat/byte you should expect your transaction to get confirmed soon, or you can increase the fees a bit more. See here: https://mempool.space/
I am watching this pool for last 1 hour, and it's showing 29 minutes left but as its jump in second last pool after few minutes I have back this on third pool its doing this for last two hours just because of this now I post this and want to know is this normal its lurking around here for last 2 hours.

The estimated time is based on the current network congestion but no one knows what fees will be used in the upcoming TX so it's normal to hang around at 2 blocks from the tip region in these situations.
675  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Recommendation for multi-crypto software wallets that support BIP-39 passphrase on: November 08, 2023, 06:42:04 AM
but you also get a non-custodial wallet with a seed phrase that you can use as such. But I don't remember seeing a passphrase feature in Bisq,

AFAIK, they have suggested adding a password while creating seeds which probably could be a Passphrase but I am not sure I will verify it later cuz, for some reason I opened BISQ to verify the passphrase and a mandatory update popped up and it's taking forever for update not sure why though.

Bisq is not user-friendly so I agree with you completely that it shouldn't be considered as a wallet for storing, its decentralized exchange and to be used for the intended purposes.

About the exe for Windows version they don't release new versions it is stuck at the 3.10 version if you still looking for the exe file you can download it here

The last update was released 2 years ago, and windows defender stopped running the application while installing and I had to override it this is Airgap wallet basically watch only wallet now again I don't know how to find Airgap vault and it is too complicated so for shitcoin it doesn't worth trying unless you already have them. 676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Believe That Reading People's Bad Experience Will Help You on: November 06, 2023, 06:03:11 PM
If you're starting your journey on gambling do you think reading about people's bad experiences like losing their savings and getting depressed which leads to loss of jobs and livelihood will help new gamblers to become responsible gamblers for fear that what they read will happen to them?

Having knowledge about what you are going to do and what are the things you have to face as consequences will definitely be a positive thing. It can be acquired in two ways either learning from your own mistakes or mistakes from others and the latter comes at no cost so its an extra benefit. I am not sure it will not eliminate the risk of addiction because it's subjective the individual's mental strenth but its good to have something better than nothing.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Difference between crypto gamblers - regular gamblers on: November 05, 2023, 06:18:29 PM
Throughout my years using cryptocurrency I've noticed that there are some differences between people that use crypto and those that might not. People using crypto are usually more aware of little details, they seek out to have more privacy and better sources of information. So that followed suit when it came for crypto to meet gambling as well.

It was crypto casinos that popularized the notion of provably fair gambling, and now the world had access to a technology that could undeniably prove the randomness of each bet. Regular online casinos to this day avoid using this technology, and gamblers that are not aware of crypto's perks rarely ever inquire about it. This is yet another good example of a difference between crypto gamblers and regular gamblers.

Overall I think that crypto gamblers are more likely to make more educated decisions with how they handle their money overall, while regular gamblers will be easily tricked by old tricks such as deceptive bonuses in casinos and similar tricks and regular gamblers will also more easily fall victim to their own psychological tricks such as being carried away and try to bet more to win your losses etc. What are your thoughts? Have you experienced something similar?

Such vague comparisons don't have to be the actual facts.

I disagree with many parts of your statements. The first thing is privacy and cryptocurrency can be anonymous and pseudo-anonymous while centralized exchanges enforce mandatory KYC for all their customers then privacy is nullified.

Provably fairness is something to verify the randomness of results while gambling online so the typical casinos aka land-based casinos use physical equipment and if you feel rigged surely you can find the fairness of the results by observing a few bets.

About the education status, its utter nonsense and if you say people use crypto for betting never addicted or wagered the money that they can't afford to lose.

678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have your own casino. on: November 05, 2023, 04:35:17 PM
How many of you have dreamed about having your casino? Be the house and play the always-win game.

In the past years it was different, people who could build a provably fair engine were able to have their own casino, but now we are playing with new rules, the casinos must have a license and games providers, and that's what people are looking for, and i don't say is something bad, the gambling experience on stake compared with the gambling experience on satoshi bones is enormous.

But getting back into the topic, i would like to read some nice histories from the community, those who only dream about their own casino, and those who make their dreams come true.

I don't have such a dream at all and for someone who loves gambling doesn't necessarily mean they have to be on the other side and see how things work cause its not a business that everyone can start, to start a decent casino with all the license and everything the user need a capital of 100K and a lot more to reward the winners.

So all my dream is to just hit the jackpot someday and that's it.

i took the code and started fixing the bugs one by one, and after a list of a lot of solved bugs it's running great now. I talked with the other two devs but they are not interested in the project and told me to do whatever i want with it. So, i have some plans for it.

I don't mean to discourage you but all you have is the working site which is important but you need capital to get the license, bankroll to pay the winners and security for the wallet, and staff to maintain the system works smoothly which means you just crossed the first step and still a lot more to reach.

679  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: bitcoin wallet on: November 05, 2023, 01:30:13 PM
I'm not wrong, the android version of Electrum lacks a lot of features that is present in the desktop version, coin control and fee customization is available on the desktop version of Electrum, but not on mobile and you can confirm that yourself if you use Electrum on mobile.
I agree that kind of messed up with the freezing address as coin control but I am sure that you can customize your fee in Android Electrum.
Also, it seems that now sign-in message is also available now but I am not aware of it or can't find it in my updated android too so probably it's still not updated on Play Store but the sign-in feature on the electrum android has been implemented recently.
No, it has not been implemented, you cannot sign a message in the android version of Electrum, you can only do that on desktop.
I saw that the request was marked as closed and since I was on my mobile I wasn't able to grasp the entire thread but now I see that it just led to another request which opened for the same request.
680  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: bitcoin wallet on: November 05, 2023, 10:08:24 AM
though Electrum on mobile lacks some very good features like coin control, customizing fees, signing a message, etc.

You are wrong, I don't know where you get this statement but coin control and fee customization is available on Electrum for a very long time.

Coin control android : https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/5661

Also, it seems that now sign-in message is also available now but I am not aware of it or can't find it in my updated android too so probably it's still not updated on Play Store but the sign-in feature on the electrum android has been implemented recently.

Github: add sign message feature to android qml

In my opinion, the weakness of the bluewallet wallet is that it is not a wallet for storing large amounts of assets in the long term.
Correct, but the same is true for Electrum as a hot wallet or any other hot wallet for that matter.

Both these apps can even be used as cold storage too if we install them on an air-gapped device but it is definitely for advanced user only.
