ITT: Theists who don't understand the concept of burden of proof. Shocker, I know.

The real reason America is exceptional

Todd Starnes

As the first rays of morning light wash over the eastern seaboard -- a flag is unfurled with broad stripes and bright stars.

A soldier stands guard over sleeping heroes - known only to their Maker.

MOAR - http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/07/02/real-reason-america-is-exceptional.html

The real reason America is exceptional is, God is holding her in such a way. There are two other reason, one good and the other as good as it could be. The good one first.

I am honestly not sure whether you're trolling or not, but I've often found that a disturbingly large amount of Americans genuinely believe god somehow favors their country over others or that America is 'god's country' for some bizarre reason. They can never justify it other than blind patriotism/delusion but I always find it bizarre.
QFT, I've found this applies often around here:

I don't care about the majority and how their affected, if even one person is affected negatively the majority in a way that's out of their control, such as being discriminated against for being homosexual, then the majority has to change.
Wise words, our founding fathers shared this sentiment, they called it the "tyranny of the majority". This is what you get with a population that doesn't know their own history, even history as recent as a few hundred years ago.

Language that implies violence should not be used when no violence is present. For example, it would be fair to say that medieval Christians were attacking atheists when they burned them alive at the stake.

My language is perfectly appropriate, you are just looking for any excuse not to address my point. Furthermore I can choose my words without you imposing your dictates upon my language thank you.

"attack
Tweet
verb at·tack \ə-ˈtak\

: to act violently against (someone or something) : to try to hurt, injure, or destroy (something or someone)

: to criticize (someone or something) in a very harsh and severe way

: to begin to work on or deal with (something, such as a problem) in a determined and eager way"

I concede this point,  you are correct about the word attack. Still wrong about your lack of faith in Jibbers Crabst though, dirty heathen.

Followers of our Lord and Savior Crabst have never burned anyone alive, sadly we cannot say the same for Christians.

666  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Christian bakers fined $135,000 for refusing to make wedding cake for lesbians on: July 03, 2015, 05:26:41 PM
Bakers should just bake, no questions asked.
But then again, $135K is a crazy amount of money.
I'll agree there is a huge disconnect between government "justice by fining" and the realities on the ground for Americans today,  the political caste seem to be blissfully unaware that most folks aren't millionaires.

Perhaps that's because we haven't devoured them yet.
667  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: July 03, 2015, 05:22:58 PM
Fun fact: For most atheists, religion is like, the gayest thing there is. The absolute fucking GAYEST. Seriously you guys.

Plenty of rational people are irritated by religion just as plenty of irrational people are irritated by homosexuality.

And yet, I would never call someone "gay" as a derogatory thing.
Theist ignorant hatred is the reason gay teenage americans are three times more likely to commit suicide than straight ones.

That's a fact.

That gender is a social construction has been a widely accepted fact for over fifty years in the social sciences. Today there is growing mountain of scientific evidence that gender is deeply harmful to young developing minds. All that knowledge is available to you, if you were genuinely interested in getting to the truth of this issue you'd be on google learning about it, but we both know you're not.
"That gender is a social construction has been a widely accepted fact for over fifty years in the social sciences."

First of all who taught you English? Nice sentence structure.
It's official, you're a tedious pedant.  Half to two thirds of my posts are from my (not so) smart phone,  there's a limit to how much I struggle with this thing, as long as the idea is conveyed IDGAF if it's perfect English.

Second of all just because you believe it is "a widely accepted fact" among the handful of political ideologues willing to confirm your biases for you does not make it fact. Furthermore "social sciences" are not hard sciences, there can not be true empirical data collected for these studies conducted within this field of study. There are far too many variables, and real scientists know that social sciences are not based on fact but observation (...)
It's official,  you don't understand how science works. No surprise there,  if you did you'd be forced to reject all god claims for lack of evidence.

You've been warned, America, gay marriage is just the beginning
The beginning of the end for religion.

Everyone relax and remember, there's an entire community of bigots out there having a worse week than you. Like OP here.

It's compassion that rules now, and there's nothing you theists can do to stop it. Perhaps search for your god in compassion and you will find him.

The 10,000 year era of violence is coming to a close now, and without violence religion has no chance to survive.

Compassion = Attacking individuals who practice religion, not for what they themselves have done, but because you have decided for them that their religion and culture have no value.

671  Other / Politics & Society / Re: One in five Americans: “Religious institutions Should Be Forced to Perform SSM" on: July 03, 2015, 02:51:00 PM
I find it disturbing the people are ok with the idea of forcing someone to go against their religion in the name of the law. Especially when the country was supposed to be a place where everyone could practice their various religions concurrently so long as they don't harm another.
One day, if/when Christian ignorance stops hurting and killing others, maybe America will stop cutting away Christianity like a fucking cancer. Don't you get it? It's compassion that's killing Christianity in this country.

Compassion + Internet = Death for ignorance, superstition, perhaps even hatred and violence after enough generations.
672  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The road to the End of Religion: How sex will kill God on: July 03, 2015, 02:39:02 PM
Just because you are taking something doesn't make it a right. People have lots of rights, very few actually make the effort to exercise them. The difference between the two is that rights are for ones self, and what you are doing is attempting to destroy the gender identity of others simply based on what you believe, without empirical backing of studies whatsoever.

Furthermore even if you think homosexuality should be a protected class, you you really honestly believe the supposed hardship placed on this lesbian couple was so severe that the baker should pay $135,000, a sum that would be sure to destroy the livelihoods of almost anyone? Is the punishment proportional to the supposed crime? I don't think so. I believe this is way beyond insane.
I'm more than happy to see bigotry come at such a high cost to the ignorant ones who practice it. Bigotry kills. Hate kills.

So you think gays struggle as much for acceptance as blacks do?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonewall_riots

I think that's a fruitless and fucked up question to ask. In both cases, less so each passing day as Christianity slowly dies in America.

Christian bakers fined $135,000 for refusing to make wedding cake for lesbians.
Good.

If they [were white and] had refused to make a wedding cake for a black hetero couple, imagine the reaction.

Zero tolerance for bigotry, this is America.

It might be somewhat accurate if God, Himself, didn't step in and manipulate things, which He will do again, when mankind become bad enough, as retarded as this thinking is.
Fixed your sentence, you had a minor grammar error there.

I had it copyrighted. Your fixation is your own.
One of my favorite laws to break,  that.

i understand what you are saying.

but if the school is asking the community how they feel about this being taught, and the community says we don't want it taught, and they go ahead and plan to teach it despite the communities disapproval......

i do consider that being shoved down their throat.
Same bigoted arguments were made to support racial segregation after the civil war.

They didn't hold weight then,  they don't hold weight now. Nobody gives a shit that you and your imaginary sky-friend have a problem with the way 5% or so of the population shares orgasm. Campaigns like Free the Nipple are gaining traction and momentum because all the myths of religion are falling away in the wake of the internet. Hell, it won't be too long before we see Free the Genitals campaigns where full public nudity is forced upon you in parks and such. Science is going to assert the fact that naked bodies do absolutely no harm to anyone,  including children.

I for one am looking forward to seeing how many Christians lose their minds when their children are subjected to the random nudity in public. The police will be forced to protect the naked activists rather than arrest them for out of touch Christian laws like "indecent exposure", which like all other laws founded in myth, will be removed from the books district by district in the not-too-distant future.

The game is over, theists. You lost. You can save yourself a ton of grief by just abandoning your faith now and accepting the reality of an indifferent universe. Otherwise it's going to feel a lot like God is betraying you again and again. I sincerely pity anyone who will go through that.

Yours in compassion and solidarity,

it's shoved in your face and your choice of being exposed to it is being taken away. this is my problem with it.
You're really going to hate being plugged in to the Hivemind. Tragically this likely means you'll be left out of the next phase of human evolution. Not to worry, I'm sure the cyborgs will respect your right to exist as you will. They'll probably build a very accomdating theist-zoo, for all those who will inevitably refuse the "unnatural technology" that merges God's creation with man's abominations.

If you're lucky.

fuck you.

just because it doesn't bother you doesn't mean it doesn't bother others.
So you're offended? So fucking what,  why would anyone care what offends you or anyone else?

Welcome to the internet,  you Christian Nazi Nutsack.
