Hi Patrike
I have some suggestion how you can made AM more interesting for people who dont have a mining rigs. You need to add a possibilty for renting a hashpower from other AM users, ofcouse if this rigs will be marked as available for renting. I know this is a huge thing, but you can grab some extra profit from this new created market.
You can implement Lightning network for payment between users and for AM fee. This will be very good for Bitcoin and crypto.

Regards
Thanks for the suggestion. This is a quite large project as you point out, but we will see if this could be something for the future.

Good morning, I took a trip through the documentation but was unable to find an answer to my question.

I'm building a rule to execute an external program and I would like to pass the miner's tags through to the output, is that currently possible?
There are currently no feature for this but it should be quite easy to support.
I assume you want to specify the command line parameters like [tags] and Awesome Miner would translate this to "myfirsttag, mysecondtag" or similar?
664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 200000 miners on: September 25, 2020, 09:45:35 AM
Hi Patrike,

dunno if I already asked about this suggestion.

Especially for ETH coins most miners have a build-in tweak, which needs admin privileges. If I set them in "Properties", all mining software will start from now on with admin privileges.

Is it possible to give this option to the "Profit Profile" in the "Algorithm specific settings"? Like an on/off button, to just turn on/off the admin privileges for that specific algorithm/miner.

Thanks!
Hi Joesph,
I will look into this for one of the next releases. It makes sense and should be fast to do.

I think it will have to be one "Override" box where you select if you want to override the Admin flag or not for the specified algorithm. Then of course the "Run mining process with Administrator privileges" box. It would also have to be part of the Bulk Edit.

The reason for the "Override" box is that if you already have a Managed Profit Miner and get the new version where the algorithm can override this behavior - you don't want it to change what is being configured on the miner unless you explicitly tell that this Algorithm specific setting should override what is being defined on the miner.

What is everyone running as the OS when using the Linux remote agent?

Ubuntu 20.04 desktop edition or server edition or something completely different?

I'd like to keep my OS install as lean as possible but wasn't sure of it is a pain to install the graphics drivers on the server edition (or if it is even supported).

EDIT: I went ahead and installed 20.04 on a test rig with a single 1070.  Added the latest Nvidia driver and screen (not part of base desktop install) and of course the remote agent.

Added the new rig to AM and created a GPU Clocking Profile.

Started mining, which is working fine, but the GPU Clocking Profile is being ignored.

Are GPU clocking profiles not supported on Ubuntu?

EDIT2:  Will AM automatically start the ETH pill on rigs with 1080/1080Ti GPUs?

Anyone can tell if there is an iso with linux do burn on a pendrive that supports AM?

It will be nice to have a Linux OS that you only have to power on and start to mine with AM

Please, somebody can help us to make a special linux version for AM?
We will most likely provide a Linux mining OS on an USB at some point in the future. I fully understand that this would make it easier to get started.

I know a number of users here use HiveOS as a Linux distribution, but don't sign up for any of their services. You can install Awesome Miner Remote Agent on top of it:

One of my rigs is running Ubuntu 20.04 desktop with 2 GPUs as follows:

GPU 0 EVGA 1070Ti PCI Bus ID 1
GPU 1 MSI 1070 PCI Bus ID 2

Both are showing up in the GPU tab and both are hashing.

However, for some reason I'm only able to control the power and clock settings for GPU 0.

When I go to tools/GPU clocking, only GPU 0 is showing up.

All my other rigs, mostly running nvOC (Ubuntu based) and Win10, do not have this issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Hello,
Can you please send me the following details (via PM or mail)

1) The output from the following command:
nvidia-smi --query-gpu=name,pci.bus,index,temperature.gpu,utilization.gpu,fan.speed,power.draw,clocks.current.graphics,clocks.current.memory,pci.sub_device_id,memory.total --format=csv,noheader,nounits

2) Via Awesome Miner, select the miner, then the GPU tab and click "View GPU details". Please share the output with me

3) Finally, please restart Remote Agent once and then send me the Remote Agent log file (you can access it via Awesome Miner toolbar Tools -> Log File -> Awesome Miner Remote Agent).

Thanks!

I really want it to mine nicehash eth and zil in another stratum, I don't know if the miners are prepared for that, or they should only use a single stratum.
Thanks for your question. From what I've seen from ZIL mining so far is that you connect to a specific mining pool (one pool) that takes care of the ZIL + ETH mining. So from Awesome Miner point of view, it's a single pool that do both coins behind the scene.

I'm not sure if there are any ZIL mining pools that allows you to actually mine ETH elsewhere. I think the ZIL+ETH concept is more like merged mining rather than dual mining. Again, I'm not an expert on this specific coin so there might be other users here with more information on how it actually works.

Hi Patrike.

Looks like AM delegate a wrong parameter config for Bminer 16.3.1 with new param -fast I am was unable to start mining process, Syntax error.

AM sent this string:
/root/.config/AwesomeMinerService/bminer-v16.3.1-135666e-amd64.tar_1/bminer-v16.3.1-135666e/bminer   -fast -watchdog=false -uri ethash://0x71c0c1e65dfb0a24dc59b851701fd92d51f37910.1070_@eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -api=0.0.0.0:4028

Bminer crash output:
invalid value "-watchdog=false" for flag -fast: strconv.ParseInt: parsing "-watchdog=false": invalid syntax
Bminer: When Crypto-mining Made Fast (v16.3.1-135666e)

Did you specify a number after "-fast"? Otherwise Bminer will not accept your custom command line argument. It must be "-fast 1" or similar.

Using latest AM v8.0.2 with latest t-rex-0.17.2 which added ethash algorithm for Ethereum.  Had to manually enable algo ethash in Managed software options.

Diagnostics when starting t-rex with -a ethash :

Hi Patrik,

the new version of T-Rex mining Ethereum at NiceHash needs a special prefix:

"0.17.2 * Add "ethash" algorithm (for Ethereum). For Nicehash mining use "nicehash+tcp://" pool url prefix."

I know in Online Services / Properties. But how can this be done, if we also want to use other miners than just T-Rex for Ethereum at NiceHash? These other miners would also get the new prefix which should not work. And T-Rex will not work with the standard prefix. Is there a workaround or can you do some magical auto detecting tricks here for that case? Smiley
With the latest definition update I've mapped "ethash" for T-Rex miner.

For Mining Pool Hub, it looks like some incompatibility between the T-Rex miner and their Ethereum pool.

The Nicehash, this requires a small code change in Awesome Miner to change the protocol to "nicehash+tcp" as you pointed out. This will be part of the next release.

Yes patrike write it is sensitive and i give you the right way. You donīt need to add it to the bat file.

IF YOU ADD THIS AS I DESCRIBED, AWESOMEMINER WILL ADD THE RIGHT ALGO AND NO EMPTY SPACE.  Roll Eyes

AS YOU CAN SEE IN MY PICTURE THE DEFAULT COMMAND FOR VERUSHASH IS EMPTY SO IT ADDS A EMPTY SPACE, YOU MUST ADD IT IN THE USER DEFINED LINE.

I do what patrike with the next release will do. But if you donīt understand my point itīs also ok.

I say again that everything is included, but the command for these algorithms is not inserted. Yescrypt is fine.

I've just pushed a mining software definition update where most of the SrbMiner algorithms are mapped by default. Click on "Update mining software definitions" via the blue Menu button.

Please note the following:
- The recent versions of SrbMiner is very sensitive to the command line argument order so manually specifying the algorithm via "Command line arguments" in the Properties of a miner will not work. It must be added by Awesome Miner to ensure the correct order.
- Like sxemini pointed out, it's possible to manually specify the command line arguments for an algorithm via the Options dialog, Managed Software section.
- In the case of RandomEpic, this algorithm wasn't included in Awesome Miner by default. With the recent definition update it is, so no need to manually add it.

Can you please open the Properties for your Icemining RandomEpic pool, and set the algorithm to either "Unspecified RandomEpic" or if you have any specific coin for this defined. Once Awesome Miner knows the algorithm of the pool, it should be able to map it to a command line argument (like 'randomepic' for SrbMiner). Can you please verify this once you have the latest mining software definition update?

Thanks!

Awesome Miner version 8.0.2 (Development preview of 8.1)

 Features
  - Heat maps can be displayed in the web interface
  - Improved sorting of miners in the list of available miners for a heat map
  - The information column can display the MAC address of a miner
 Integration
  - Wallet balance feature can be configured to send custom HTTP headers when requesting balance from a block explorer
 Mining software
  - WildRig 0.26.0
  - Bminer 16.3.1
  - T-rex miner 0.17.2
 Corrections
  - Correction to list of groups when moving miners in web interface
  - Corrected tooltip display for miners in the heat map

Nothing has changed for me, srbminer for cpu does not start, problem with api. I downloaded version 5.2 still does not start.
There are no changes for SrbMiner in this release.

Did you try to remove your custom command line argument " --algorithm yescrypt" as I suggested via PM earlier? SrbMiner 0.5 seems to be very sensitive to the order of the command line arguments, so for the algorithm it's better to let Awesome Miner add it for you.

Hi patrike,

Reverted back to 452.06 drivers, the power draw gets shown.

Thanks for making the tests. For some reason it works fine and I see the power usage on RTX 2080 with both 452.06 and the new 456.38 I'm running right now.

Can you please click the button "View GPU details" in the GPU tab and send me the details via PM? Thanks!

Does anyone else experience this problem on the latest nVidia drivers?

Edit: One more question. Can you please look at the file version of "nvml.dll"? Please search for the file as it may be located in more folders than "C:\Windows\system32".

Hi patrike,

Seems there is an issue with the driver updater from Nvidia, as the nvml.dll file was not getting updated in the "C:\Windows\system32" folder.

I copied over the latest file to this folder and all is well now.

Thanks for the help with this issue.
Great that you found the incorrect file version. When I install the latest nVidia drivers, this nvml.dll file was updated correctly so you might just have had some back luck with the nVidia installer.

Is anyone else's Bitcoin Exchange Rate stuck at $10,999.99?
It's 10,999.30 here right now, same as in the status bar. It should be about right.

For how long has it been stuck? Do you get another number in the status bar, at the bottom of the screen?

Awesome Miner should refresh the rate on a regular interval and also refresh it once after you started the application.

It was "stuck" there for at least an hour this morning when I got up to check on the status. I thought it was strange because when I checked the actual BTC price it was listed just above $11,010. Maybe it just didn't update in AwesomeMiner and it was just my luck to catch it with all 9's.
Currently, It's reading $10,999.30 and that's ~30 minutes after you replied. How often is it supposed to update?
It should never more than one hour between the updates.

Hi patrike,

Nvidia's latest drivers (456.38) installed, under the speed on the right (lower window, GPU tab) the wattage used per GPU is missing under performance.

Can you fix that in the next release, thanks.

Hi,

I've just verified with nVidia drivers 456.38 and I'm not seeing this issue. Is it only in this specific field where the power doesn't show up? Do you see the power if you click on "Map to system monitoring"? Is "Map to system monitoring" enabled or disabled?

Can you please try to reboot the mining computer once in case the power reporting in the nVidia drivers isn't behaving so well.

Hi, Patrike!

After the last update, the api srbminer 4.7 stopped working. The srbminer 5.01 version does not start, it also looks like something with the API.

Yes and srbminer 5.0.1 works perfect. some things changed, please look in the srbminer thread.
Set --cpu-threads in commandline, it must be specify.

This is clear. Temperature, hashray, power is not reflected in awesome miner window.

Yes i understand you and this is clear dude.
Then it is a config failure by yourself. I donīt know your setup or your config. Api is changed in the last srbminer version and Patrike changed Awesomeminer that it can read the new api. So i donīt know whats your problem. I think you changed software setup or something.

Didn't touch anything, from the word at all. On two computers srb 4.7 starts, but there is no data, 5.0 starts and immediately turns off, writes an incorrect configuration. I am using this miner for cpu.

Can you please start SrbMiner (the latest) with the Diagnostics button in the toolbar? Please share the output with me as it will be of help trying to identify the incorrect configuration. Thanks!

One of my machines (specifically a 1070 eight card rig) keeps having an intermittent issue where AwesomeMiner says "interface offline" but the machine is still working fine. I uninstalled and re-installed the remote agent and the problem keeps occuring.
Any ideas?
No firewall / anti-virus / etc running. Windows 10 ver 2004.
I have three machines and only this one is having this particular issue.

Thanks!
Thanks for your question. "Interface offline" indicates one of the following:
1) The mining software you are running isn't responding with any monitoring information when requested by Awesome Miner. If this is the case, it's some bug in the mining software that cause the monitoring interface (API) to stop working
2) Awesome Miner do receive the monitoring information from the mining software, but Awesome Miner do something wrong and fail to process and display this information.

When this problem happens, can you please select the miner and send me the API report via PM? You can generate the API report via the toolbar: Tools -> API Report. With this API Report I can verify if the mining software is responding with any monitoring details. Thanks!

Any updates from the reports that I had sent you?
The log file indicated timeouts when connecting to the Phoenix Miner API port. Can you please go to the Options dialog, Advanced section, where you can increase the "Miner API connection timeout".

I suspect some API part of Phoenix Miner running slow, making the connections to time out quite often. By increasing the timeout, Awesome Miner will wait longer for a response. It isn't a perfect solution, but it's the only kind of workaround that Awesome Miner can do in this case.
