669  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 2 BTC Raffle - Free Entry on: June 29, 2013, 04:22:28 PM
How you will select winner?

Hey,
If needed, we can put together a provably fair system similar to how primedice is done, based off your deposit address. Otherwise we could use a noteable 3rd party figure in the Bitcointalk community (I'm thinking Doog or John - Open for suggestion though) to draw it through means of a number generator.

Now 3BTC?  Huh
Yes, there is now a second separate giveaway. Simply follow us on twitter and post your twitter handle [@____] with your original post.

You could just make a recording of you using a random number generator, spin it like 5-10 times and the last is the winner.
670  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: All coins stolen! How to report fraudulent Litecoin/Bitcoin apps? on: June 29, 2013, 03:47:26 PM

How does one attempt to research fraud with BitCoin? Can a restored wallet.dat "roll back" transactions?

Unfortunately the major advantage of bitcoin for sellers, if the major disadvantage to getting robbed, no you cant roll-back and get your coin back, reversals are impossible.
671  Other / Meta / Re: Banned For Trolling... on: June 29, 2013, 03:33:31 PM
It is, but we usually warn people before we ban them for this very reason.  Undecided

Wait you ban people for trolling, but you wont ban someone who straight admits to scamming hundreds, or thousands of USD/Bitcoin?
thefuck?

674  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is Bitcoin legally a Currency? on: June 28, 2013, 12:33:21 AM
I just don't get it.... why people are getting into legal trouble with Bitcoin. How can they say you need a Money transmitter license for Bitcoin? What is the difference between Bitcoin and Swagbucks or XBox points? To me it's just a digital product with no need for Government regulation at all.

Fiat in, fiat out. There is your simple answer..

676  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Redeemed 2011 (error) 1BTC Casascius Coin/Round [Clean and Make Perfect!] on: June 27, 2013, 09:20:46 PM
So why do exactly these piece of shit coins with SPELLING ERROR cost a lot?
I just keep seeing people buy these like hotcakes

They are valuable because they are the original issue and are hard to get, and not really because there is a spelling error. The other difference is that the partial public key is printed on top of the hologram. Subsequent runs have used a different hologram.

I guess some people might assign value to the spelling error, but it is not really what a coin collector would consider to an error, which is an error in the manufacturing process.

Flaws make currency worth more.

677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Metered connection - how much data? on: June 27, 2013, 07:48:33 AM
So bitcoin-qt takes part in the BTC network in some way when it's online?  I thought it was just a wallet.  Does electrum do this too?  Are there any BTC apps that are just a wallet?

Pretty sure the bottom right shows connections.
678  Economy / Lending / Re: Lending Website on: June 27, 2013, 07:46:46 AM
bombartier357 just PM'd me if he needs to use a signed ssl certificate. Shocked

Please, close this site for your own good. Since you're lending money, you'll be the one to get scammed when someone will find a bug. Start from something smaller/simpler. This should be your 100-th website, not first. You should know how to do everything by now, not ask people instead of google.
Start by creating a forum, than a blog, than a shop... See you in two years with enough experience to make a professional lending website.

I doubt he pmed you so you could blast his questions in a bad way all over the forums. He obviously asked because he wants to learn, and not have everything handed to him, unlike some that are posting asking for a shitton of money to hire programmers for an amazing idea they have.
679  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Everclear 190 proof on: June 27, 2013, 02:16:54 AM
Probably highly illegal, some places 190 proof is illegal.
680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Zealots and Criminals, Is no one using bitcoin for legitimate purchases? on: June 27, 2013, 01:50:30 AM
It was Paypal President David Marcus that said "The big question is whether [Bitcoin] is going to go mainstream or stay limited to just a few zealots and criminals."
i use bitcoin and not in a criminal way.

Maybe the article would be better written as "Zealots and Criminals, Is it possible for anyone anywhere to pay or get paid without breaking any laws?". Technically if you get cash out of an ATM and spend it in a shop somewhere else your a money transmitter and need to be registered as such. That's the way the fascist states like it, everyone's guilty of something.

yep. america has become its own oppressor.

America is not a fascist state. It's a republic. The problem is that public opinion has swung so far toward the extreme of security over freedom that the public is oppressing themselves. Either things will change, or the public will "get used to" less freedom and keep demanding more and more security.

Everyone is talking about the 1% oppressing the 99%, but the real issue is the 51% oppressing the 49%, and that has nothing to do with wealth.

... wrong 49% just don't pay taxes at the end of the year.. You don't have to make that much to begin paying taxes. Those making a few million a year are not oppressing anyone.
