Adebayo being overshadowed but he just put up an impressive number "under the radar" against the Lakers. It's his best performance so far.
- 22 Points
- 20 Rebounds
- 10 Assists

I think the future of the Heat rest on his shoulders. He is as important to the team as Buttler so hopefully he remains consistent and produce double-double every game.
Sure he is important to the team just like last season and right now, he's technically the new captain ball of their team.

If he's going to be consistent and produce these numbers every single game although it's unlikely but at least close to this stat, it's not just going to be all about Jimmy whenever they're against with other teams.

Tomorrow, they're going to be with the Grizzlies. Lesser rest but I'm sure that he's still going to show some good numbers on that game.

Same with how important Jimmy was, Bam is another core of this squad, together they are really performing, and they are bringing
decent stats, I like the way they are sharing the floor together.

Yes, without Jimmy, the Heat might struggle to even reach the playoffs. Bam is good, but I believe it was the Heat's system that made him better over time. He's a team player, and he benefits from that. However, we can't be sure if he'll have the same stats if he gets traded to another team. It has happened with other players in the past where they struggled.

With Bam's active scoring he's really a big threat inside especially with his rebounding capabilities reminding me of how a prime Howard before.

Though Unlike Howard who dominate the scoring for the team, Bam got everyone on his back and he's really doing his part
and not after with individuality.

Comparing him to Howard, they aren't on par. During Howard's prime, he was very unstoppable in the paint due to his size and athleticism, but Bam is just a shorter center, and he isn't as strong as Howard. Bam is only 6'10", and he struggles against bigger and taller guys like Jokic.

Just a quick update, odds for the first game are already out just now.

Blackwater is +7.5
Total is 201.5

It's too high. Usually, this kind of handicap looks like a trap, but since Blackwater is just really a bad team, at least that's what is labeled for them. I don't know if they'll change this season with a new import. In the end, it would still become a battle of imports, and you know, if Blackwater's import turns out to be a dominant one, then an upset is likely to happen. So, while taking the handicap is attractive, I think the moneyline would provide more excitement.

Blackwater demolished Converge on the first game today. Don't know what the ML odds, must have been 3.5x, if the handicap is 7.5. Their import got only 21 point but the good thing is that 5 of Blackwater's locals scored in double digits which was lead by JV Casio with his 15 points.

It's interesting to bet on the underdogs on the team's first game as they are still adjusting to their imports so upset really happens here.

Have not bet on Blackwater but won on the over/under as i bet for "under 216.5 @1.94", first bet and first win in the PBA betting hehe.

I wasn't able to watch the game, but I'm quite surprised by the outcome. I thought Blackwater was a bad team, but beating Converge by 19 points is just too much. The moneyline odds are quite sweet on this one, so whoever bet on that moneyline is already okay not betting on the 2nd game.

Talking about the 2nd game, I thought it's at 7:00 PM. I was surprised it hadn't started and found out it will start at 8:00 PM. Has the PBA changed their schedule? Usually, the last game of the day starts at 7:00 PM at the latest.
663  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the right age for financial stability? on: November 07, 2023, 09:20:59 PM
Financial stability does not matter as to what age it will be achieved. We all have different priorities in life and different opportunities that coming into our lives, so its up to us if we will take advantage of them at an early age or we'll just enjoy life first because we only live once. With or without financial stability, we all have to live and enjoy life even if it means losing the chance to achieve financial stability at the process.

However, having financial stability is still a very crucial decision that we should also learn to consider. One should not only focus on living the present at its best but we also have to think about our future and how we can live it at its fullest. The reason why some individuals take risk as early as possible to be financial stable at an early age if that could be the only reason to protect and secure their future, especially their children's future. While some established financial stability at the late age of 20's, while others are still in the process of achieving their financial stability at the age of 30's or 40's since their opportunities also came late compared to others.
664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you cope with those around you not believing in you for choosing Bitcoin? on: November 07, 2023, 08:24:28 PM
Pretty much self explanatory.  How do you do it?

Here is my way.  I mostly pushed away and pulled out of relationships with people who seem to stand against my beliefs.  Instead of convincing them I just moved on.  I found that a lot of those who do not believe in my choice of investment and think I will fail are the same people who never listen.  Know it alls who rather put you down and disregard your feelings with no logical reasoning.  Sometimes it feels like they envy you or some thing.

I believe this is a healthy way of handling your environment.  Keep negativity outside your bubble.  Only keep close to you people who give you the ambition and optimism to continue.  Not sure how many of you believe in this.  But manifesting negativity has always brought negative outcome in my life.  Surrounding myself by positive thoughts and positive people has brought a strong source of light all the time.
I don't think I owe an explanation to them, and have to manage their opposition on my own decision to invest in bitcoin. My money, my rules. They don't have to deal with it and me either when it comes to their business. If they do, then I have no choice but to disregard their existence and just pretend that people like them will never help me anyway. This is way better than to please them and still treat them that whatever their words  or say about my own choice will still matter. After all,  we can't control what others believe.  If they stick to their own belief, then let it be as I have to focus on my own choice and work on it until it comes to prove that it's worth the risk and the results are very life changing.
665  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Simple Yet Powerful Message That Will Always Hold True on: November 07, 2023, 01:39:18 PM
The message to newbies has always been the same since the beginning of time. From bitcoin creation to the very time altcoin started to pop up, till the era of NFTs, airdrops and other silly nonsense that shows up to deceive the naive ones. This is the simple message being reiterated -  "Just buy bitcoin and hold your own keys or else you are going to get scammed"
~
Well, I want to agree on what the OP has advised to us, but it would be better if you indicated in the subject title that this "Simple yet Powerful Message" are only for newbies out there who don't know where to invest their money with.

I believe that newbies really need to focus their money in investing into Bitcoin "ONLY" as it's considered the "SAFE" asset by many people. It might be a safe asset, but I would call it "the safest cryptocurrency you can invest your money with". That would be better, but overall, I guess OP already shared important details that a newbies must know. Focus on Bitcoin first, and be patient.

Now what about those not newbies anymore? Will you still recommend them to just invest only on Bitcoin, and disregards those altcoins out there especially those that are on the top in terms of market cap?
For long time market investors, I believe they already know where to invest and where to put their higher allocation of capital, and what coins to diversify aside from bitcoin. They have better experiences in the market so they are aware already what coins that will make them profitable and what coins that need to be avoided to prevent from losing.

However, this message is not actually for newbies but I can also tell that this is also applicable even for experienced investors. Bitcoin is still the best crypto and safest crypto asset so if we can’t stick to it, at least we should give bitcoin the biggest allocation and only invest to other potential altcoins and shitcoins with an amount that we can afford to lose.
666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 07, 2023, 12:08:48 PM
The last undefeated team in the league has fallen now with the Minnesota Timberwolves beating the Boston Celtics. Minnesota is also the only team in the league to have beaten the Denver Nuggets. While it’s still early, the Timberwolves are showing they’re a team to beat this year. They’re also the number one rated defense in the league.

Another big win by the Timberwolves. That win should boost their morale somehow and continue to their winning ways. However, there's still a lot to improve before they can consider themselves a serious contender this season. Their 2 towers need to be consistent. I am not sold on Conley, they need a stable and younger PG, and it does not have to be a star player. Nonetheless, the Timberwolves are still undefeated with a 4-0 record at home.

They need that kind of consistency at home especially when the playoffs comes. That win was huge as they have done that even without KAT.
It's now looking good for the Wolves, the addition of  Conley to this team has somehow contribute well to what they have become now and Edwards had already matured as a player due to his big experience, especially playing the FIBA WC.

Boston and Philadelphia are now tied with 5-1 records. Philly has a 5 game-win streak.

It seems like they really don't need Harden after all. Speaking of Harden, he made his debut with the Clippers against the Knicks, but unfortunately, they lost.
667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do You Plan to Make the Most of Your Bitcoin Investment Before the Halving? on: November 05, 2023, 07:31:01 PM
I do DCA and I don't plan to make any special changes, except maybe to do partial sales at ATH times, like when the price goes over $100,000 and things like that. But for me it's more of a long-term view, which includes a couple of cycles or more. Gradually continue to accumulate wealth in bitcoin and other assets.
I would stick to DCA as well because that’s the only option where I can maximize the volume in my portfolio. And I’m really waiting for another price drop because that will serve as another great opportunity to buy significant amount of bitcoin before its price goes to the moon again. My focus is to increase my long term investment so whether this bitcoin halving is coming or not, still I will continue to do the DCA and make a profitable sell when bull run has finally arrived.
668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 05, 2023, 02:32:21 PM
GSW started well but I am still unconvinced that they can maintain the top 3 seed in the West. The same with Dallas, Kyrie has been a disaster over the years since leaving Lebron.

I can see the Warriors maintaining their strong performance because they're healthy now, and they've been dominant in the past. The territory they're in now is familiar to them. Despite their struggles last season, people tend to forget how good the Warriors are. Curry is still in his prime, and with CP3 contributing well, it wouldn't be a surprise if they eventually climb to the top and overtake the Nuggets.

Overtake Nuggets? I doubt that, GSW has a very poor defense in the paint which Nuggets dominate the most plus the fact that they have 3s too and good defense. Joker is unstoppable while his teammates are already contributing consistently on each of their match. MPJ is now showing some consistency on his game to help Jokic on points. I wonder how GSW can stop Nuggets if their accuracy on perimeter shots will be awful. So far Curry is consistent but a good defender will stop him.
I might be biased because I'm a big Warriors fan, but I believe they are capable of reaching the top spot in the Western Conference rankings. Just like how people didn't think they'd win a championship in 2022 due to their slow start.

In the East, it's a bit different. The Boston Celtics seem to be the clear dominant team, so it's likely they'll end up as the number 1 seed. They deserve that top spot, and according to the betting odds, they're the favorites to win the championship this season.

Yeah, Most of the team on East is still on adjustment phase. No doubt that Boston will be top seed or 2 since they have their main player that is still performing well. I just hope that they will not choke this year.

I’m impressed on the improvement of White since he have more play time now.

Their biggest issue seems to be choking, particularly when facing the Heat. It appears that the Heat knows how to defeat them, so the Celtics need to regain their confidence.

In fact, it's not just them; even the Bucks struggled against the Heat.

There are many criteria in winning an MVP award like statistical points on which Fajardo was the leader, players' votes, media vote. We know that Cstand is not so sociable with the media so may be that is one reason he did not covet this award.

In term of GOAT discussion, i do agree that JMF15 is the GOAT in the PBA because of the 7 MVP awards.

It's no surprise that JMF won because even though he's currently the best in the NBA, he's not a hated player because of his humility. Thanks for mentioning the criteria. I did a quick research and found out that a player's statistics for a specific season make up only 45% of the total criteria.

Here's the full criteria.

Quote
The criteria used since the 2022–23 PBA season are as follows:[1]

45% average statistical points
30% press and media votes
25% players' votes

Today I like the 5-1 Golden State Warriors over the 2-4 Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs are currently the favorites for some reason (maybe I’m missing something) but that to me seems like an opportunity to get good odds on the Warriors beating a much less talented team. Especially the way Stephen Curry is playing at the moment.

The only reason I know is that because of Klay Thompson's status, according to the report, he is questionable to play against the Cavaliers due to an injury (his thigh). But even without him, I think the Warriors could still win this game. The Warriors are full of talent, Curry is unstoppable, and Draymond has been playing well since he returned.

Warriors’ Klay Thompson questionable for Sunday’s game in Cleveland

Quote
CLEVELAND – Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers because of right adductor tightness.

But let's see, maybe he would choose to play because it's not confirmed yet that he will not play. But at least we shouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play because there was a report already. Also, Cleveland hasn't won their first home game, so it could be a reason why they are a slight favorite. You'll know they'll have to play harder to finally get that win.

672  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Invest with caution - Don’t be blinded by the speculation of incoming bull run on: November 04, 2023, 09:52:54 PM
Before investing in new projects or any kind of alt they should carryout proper research so they don’t invest in scam projects.
New members are unable the o properly vet a crypto project and will most times still fall victim even if they do proper research on it.
My advice to them will be to stick to Bitcoin, invest sparingly and increase your investments as I out gain more knowledge. At this point they can choose to expand to altcoins or not.
Let's accept the reality that all newbies are really susceptible to scams and end up losing. Even if they do their own diligence to research, that will never guarantee that they will be instantly free from scams. Scams are part in any investment, as losing is sometimes inevitable as well. The best remedy to fight scams is to gain experience and invest with caution. And definitely focus on bitcoin. There's no safest investment here than to stick with bitcoin and hold it for long term until you find the perfect time to sell and make decent profits. Altcoins are somehow good but investing in altcoins takes a lot of research and patience for you not to end up with scam projects that offer highly promising profits.
673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if the second Satoshi appears? on: November 04, 2023, 09:24:39 PM
Right. Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin. He's a genius. Bitcoin systems and communities are working perfectly, and everyone is crazy about Bitcoin. But what happens if someone creates a blockchain that is faster and better than Bitcoin and puts it out into the world without any greed, as Satoshi did? Are people going to ditch Bitcoin away? In that moment, we're going to see a blockchain that's performing better than Bitcoin and is perfect for decentralization that everyone emphasizes. What will happen?
Everything that is good at first might not actually last and still end up being useless. But if this new innovation gains more advantages than bitcoin, and is seen to be more productive and profitable than bitcoin, then why not? People will eventually rush to study it and invest on it later on. However, we can't expect people to finally leave bitcoin as easy as it is. Bitcoin has been here for more than a decade and until now its still in high demand and still proven valuable and profitable. They might be tempting to engage with this new one but that is only for exploration until proven that its way more beneficial than bitcoin.
674  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is doubling your investment more probable than we think? on: November 04, 2023, 08:24:49 PM

I know that these are all pure assumptions, but instead of speculating massive ATH and 3x or 4x returns, which are way too common in the forum, why not expect something that is more probable to happen in the near future? And to be honest, doubling your investment is a great yield that cannot easily be found in other forms of investment.
It is quite clear that we don't know what the price of bitcoin will be by next year, but that won't make me have a moderate price tag to sell my bitcoin assets at $50k, even when I know that after months of the halving season, Bitcoin tends to give a new ATH.

To tell you the truth, many crypto investors would like to aim for more than double the profits of their bitcoin investment. At least many will be looking at a profit of 3x or 4x of their bitcoin investment, depending on the market condition of crypto.
You can sell your coins and expect 3x or 4x from your investment capital, but the right time when to sell will still be indefinite. However, if the next year's bitcoin halving will leave a very good market position which enable bitcoin price to double or triple from the current price, then why not? Bitcoin can still be highly profitable even in the times when we least expect it.

I think what's important actually is that we get to sell in profits every time there is bull run, regardless if its 2x or 3x profitability. For me, that is more important so you won't miss any opportunity to make profits just because you are busy expecting a very high price resistance even if the market is still not capable to achieve it.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to start betting on sports? on: November 04, 2023, 12:45:47 PM
Making money from sports betting takes serious skills.

This is absolutely true. We shouldn't ignore the fact that just knowing a lot about sports doesn't guarantee easy wins in sports betting. It's not about luck; consistency is the key to winning. With knowledge and experience, you can improve over time, and anything is possible. While I haven't personally met people who make a living from sports betting, I believe they exist, and they didn't achieve their success overnight.

If you're serious about sports betting, you should watch more videos to get inspired. That's when you'll start treating it as a job. You'll need to set up a decent amount of money as your bankroll, not just a small sum.
676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 04, 2023, 10:46:31 AM
So, the opening games would be tomorrow with Magnolia and TNT battling in the first game while Blackwater and Converge will fight it out in the second game.

No odds yet but I think it would be Magnolia and Converge will be the favorite in these games.

But according to their website (https://pba.ph/), there's only one game scheduled for tomorrow. Converge and Bossing are scheduled to play on November 8, 2023, which is a Wednesday, not a Sunday.

Now, regarding the betting odds for the game tomorrow, they should be available tonight or maybe a bit later. If the odds show TNT as the underdog, it might mean that RHJ won't be playing. You see, PBA doesn't provide updates as regularly as the NBA, so we have to pay attention to the betting odds.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Difference between crypto gamblers - regular gamblers on: November 04, 2023, 09:15:16 AM

most people in my country don't have enough knowledge about these things or don't want to learn and take responsibility so they even make their account by asking to friend who know about this things.

Many people may not know about crypto gambling, but I'm sure there are already plenty of gamblers who have tried traditional gambling platforms. In fact, using traditional fiat platforms is the safest option if you don't mind giving up some privacy, as they are regulated in your country. This means you can take legal action if you get cheated.

On the other hand, with crypto casinos, most of them don't operate in our country. So, we have to take a risk and trust them, knowing that there might not be any legal recourse if we get scammed. However, this risk can be minimized by choosing a reputable gambling site.

Learning about crypto gambling is actually quite easy. If a gambler is curious to learn, they can search online, especially on YouTube, and they'll understand more about it.
678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a “safe haven asset” on: November 03, 2023, 09:43:23 PM
But as many others have pointed out, bitcoin's volatility is still very high, and it can be manipulated, so considering it a safe haven is not entirely correct.

I would not worry so much about whether it meets the traditional definition of a safe haven asset because of volatility, but whether it is a good long-term investment vehicle. Yes, it is very volatile today, although volatility will reduce over time, but if we compare it to gold in terms of returns since bitcoin was launched, there is no comparison.

Yes, bitcoin is a good investment because its returns are superior to other investments. But I think good investment doesn't necessarily mean being considered a safe haven, I think they're different. To become a safe haven, it is necessary to meet many factors such as safety in terms of acceptance, popularity, stability...bitcoin still does not meet all the requirements to become a safe haven. Bitcoin is a high-return but still high-risk investment, so I think there's nothing wrong with people still not considering it a safe haven.
But to be honest, all investments may not be considered a safe haven because the chances to lose is still high and unpredictable. Even if you claim to be a good investor, that does not guarantee that you are free from losses.

The good thing about bitcoin is despite of its high volatility, the chances to make profits is still high especially if you are being patient with your investment and you don't become easily bothered with price correction or market crash. And the moment you gain profits, its undeniable that what you gained is way more profitable than any other type of investment. One thing that people find it hard to resist with bitcoin.
679  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin In Bullish or Bearish Trend? on: November 03, 2023, 08:47:08 PM
BTC has a positive trend on many time frames, you can tell when we start to have multiple alignments across time frames because we get positive action and spikes like has been occuring recently.  The simpliest way to view general positivity or not is the moving averages.  Both 200 day and 200 week are positive, it doesnt mean we cannot sell off but the general trend is towards accumulation or positive price ascent on the chart, we are still challenged in 2023 imo;  Im not expecting take off just yet but repeatedly we had demonstration of positive BTC.
Bitcoin is currently showing positive position in the market so I can actually say the bitcoin is in a bullish trend. But its never enough to say that we are actually starting to see a real bull run in the making. Of course, Im not expecting that it will happen this year but most likely the following year since  we have two exciting events that are going to take place, the supposed to be approval of btc ETF and the most awaited bitcoin halving that will bring positive changes in the market. Although we don't know what the future holds, but Im way more optimistic that they will end up with great results.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting online courses? on: November 03, 2023, 04:05:39 PM
I'm not promoting this yes there are sports betting courses on sites like Udemy
https://www.udemy.com/topic/Sports-Betting if you are a dedicated sports bettor and you are comfortable with the prices and you can spend time and effort, you can learn how to have a chance to win.

I used the word chance because there's really no guarantee when it comes to winning on sports betting, even the best sports bettors lose even if they did a good analysis.

This is unusual because there are only a few sports bettors who consistently win, and those who are truly skilled usually keep a low profile. So, what can an online course do for our betting journey? Will it help us become better at winning, or is it simply an educational resource covering the basics of sports betting? If the course only provides basic information that's freely available online, it might not be necessary to enroll, as it could be a waste of money and might as well use that money to start betting right way.
