681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian hackers have comitted one of the biggest theft on: June 19, 2019, 02:35:39 PM
Owner of bitconnect.com was arrested in India for $14,000,000,000 ponzi scheme using Bitcoins. The big scammers are in India.
Scammers and hackers are entirely different if you are not aware of it  Roll Eyes, looks like these third world countries are sponsoring these hackers to target the exchanges as they are easy targets because of the lack of security features they have and how causal some of these exchanges handle user funds and there is not much sweat to exploit these exchanges and majority are from Russia and North Korea.
682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Dark Web, Drugs and Government. on: June 19, 2019, 12:59:01 PM
Philippines war on drugs entered a new phase as drug Syndicates are now using bitcoin to transact and avoid detection from the government. PDEA(Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency) recently found out that most organized Drug syndicate are using the dark web to transact to each other.
I am not convinced that these drug lords are using bitcoin to transact in the dark web when there are many anonymous coins in the market that will give privacy for their transaction, from what i understand is that they are blaming bitcoin for the illegal transactions and i am sure they understand the difference between bitcoin and the rest of the coins in the market. I support their hunt for illegal drugs distribution and violence but blaming bitcoin for everything is not the proper way to conduct things.
683  Economy / Economics / Re: Does engaging with bitcoins put you at risk? on: June 19, 2019, 12:29:23 AM
Engaging with Bitcoin does not put an individual to risk unless it is illegal in that particular country. Also, another factor may be what the user intends to use the Bitcoin for. Some governments believe that some Bitcoin users use it for money laundering, drug trafficking, terrorism funding etc. These are some of the activities that may put a Bitcoin user at risk if the Bitcoin is engaged in such acts.
People who are not aware of the technology behind bitcoin might use it for illegal purposes and every transactions are recorded and cannot be altered and in the next ten years if there were such activities  being carried out by anyone i expect them to be behind bars by that time, even if some fools use bitcoin for nefarious reasons that does not mean that bitcoin is a risk to its users,
684  Economy / Economics / Re: Does it helpful when blockchain integrated to government system? on: June 18, 2019, 11:34:25 PM
Transparency and accountability should be the main benefit for governments to use blockchain technology. However, I don't know which blockchain that is suitable for this purpose.
BTC might be more suitable for a store of value, to replace gold, even though many people argue about this idea. People like Peter Schiff lol
I am not sure whether any government will accept to provide transparency to their citizens and hence  these sort of benefits provided by the blockchain technology will be neglected by the government and if you look closely the main countries that has already banned or planning to ban bitcoin are third world countries which are corrupted to the core and they might want to reject the entire idea of transparency.
Bitcoin is not just a store of value, if it is not used as a transaction platform globally then there is no point in seeing them as a store of value, it will be just a speculative market with no base.
685  Economy / Economics / Re: What's it like to live on crypto instead of Banks? on: June 18, 2019, 11:20:21 PM
This is most primary reason for cryptos to be invented but most people afraid the cryptos could be hacked. The actual thing is fiat money is more unsecured compared to fiat digital wallet the only thing need to be aware is keep the private keys safe, you are in full control of your wallet.
You might be wrong here with this statement, fiat digital money is secure when it comes to user perspective, if i loose my money from any of the banks, i can very well claim that amount and they will have to refund it, if they are hacked or stolen without my knowledge and that is the most secure part and that cannot be said about crypto currency as there is no guarantee if your money is lost to hackers, as money once lost is lost forever.
686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Rising, Scams Rising on: June 18, 2019, 10:50:45 PM
Even during the price of Bitcoin was down scammers don't rest on doing evil things. As the technology evolves their minds are also updated to trick their prey. Everyone should be very careful and don't trust anyone its better to lose on trading than losing all your money to scammers.
These scams are carried out to people who are new to the new market and trying to multiple their profits and they end up being scammed and this is the usual theme that happens to newbies in the market, the awareness that there is nothing free and the possibility of multiplying your asset in a short period of time are just fake promises to steal your money, majority of the scams are done with fiat currency in the name of bitcoin and hence everything is not traceable.
687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thé benefits of bitcoins to the underdeveloped countries. on: June 18, 2019, 10:33:43 PM
In terms of financial help, if this non developed countries that you are mentioning already have an access and good knowledge about internet they will be able to compensate as bitcoin bring good benefits to those who are looking for such opportunities.
There are places in the world where there is no internet connection or mobile towers and you can empower them by building infrastructure and then spreading the word about bitcoin and teaching them about the benefits and then open them to the world so that they can have interactions with the outside world and learn things as well as open to international trading and that is how you reduce poverty and if that happens then bitcoin is a benefit for all the under developed countries.
688  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Money laundering via BTC on: June 18, 2019, 09:49:10 PM
I believe it is already been done not a single time and not only with the help of Bitcoin but also other main cryptos as well. And actually transactions are not really anonymous - if you have a private keys and a bit knowledge it can be traceable.
The people who did launder money with bitcoin can be traced in the future as it is a public ledger that has every transaction being recorded and no one can delete those and even with those kind of transparency if fools did launder money, then they will understand the situation they are in when authorities knocks their doors, i am not talking about privacy coins as they are meant to hide every transactions but with bitcoin it is an impossible task.
689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the reason Amazon hasn't adopted Bitcoin? on: June 18, 2019, 09:00:13 PM
We know that Amazon, among other giants like Facebook, is exploring blockchain technology. When crypto is becoming more mainstream and when Bitcoin becomes more mature we can begin to hope that companies like Amazon will start accepting Bitcoin payments, maybe now, adoption is not safe enough for e-commerce giants, and this is to protect their customers.
I am certain that amazon and other E commerce sites will start accepting bitcoin eventually because it opens up international trading with ease without any headache of cash backs for the merchants and bitcoin is the only answer to get rid of the charge back headaches and other disputes in the future, if i am speculating, the main reason i think for getting delayed is that bitcoin still needs to scale for much bigger transactions for them to accept it and the volatile transactions charges might be the reason and once lightning network is adopted, then they might open a channel and start accepting bitcoin. Smiley
690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Not Decentralized on: June 18, 2019, 06:42:45 PM
90% of bitcoin hold by whales, only 10% of bitcoin hold by people, whales  can do anything pump btc to moon or dump it to hell,
BUT ask yourself 1 question: What Happens to Bitcoin After All 21 Million Are Mined? then whales completely control bitcoin price.
Bitcoin Is Not Decentralized.
So you think these whales are not people  Tongue some robots hoarding these coins for them to control the entire financial market in the future  Cheesy. When 21 million bitcoins are mined it will take more than hundred years and with the way things are going, i cannot imagine the price of bitcoin fifty years from now, let alone hundred years and the so called whales could hold trillions of dollars worth of bitcoin at that time which could consume the entire financial structure.

PS: I liked your comedy and so is my response. If you claim that these random figures are facts, put up some source of study and prove them rather than saying random figures and claiming that to be true  Roll Eyes.
691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto thefts, fraud hit $1.2 billion in Q1 report on: June 18, 2019, 06:06:10 PM
let's give this some context. chargebacks and chargeback fraud alone costs e-commerce merchants $40 billion per year now.[/url]
so a rate of $5 billion/year doesn't seem that crazy for crypto theft and fraud. bitcoins cost more than $5k a pop---we're in the big leagues now. Wink
In that contest it true that it is not a big thing, but lets see what blockchain is all about, every transaction is recorded and it is not like the rest of the financial transactions, every transactions can be traced and we could eliminate every fraud in the market and bitcoin could be a market that bad actors would not dare to try and we will reach those position in the future and i hope every fraud being done with blockchain will be traced back in the future and they will get punished for their actions.
692  Economy / Economics / Re: Regulation of Cryptocurrency Around the World on: June 18, 2019, 06:59:34 AM
I think there are still few countries that doesn't care and not aware of bitcoin's existence.
It is not about awareness of the new market, everyone who is literate enough to understand the financial market will know the current trends and bitcoin is the top performer in the financial sector for a few years now and hence everyone is aware of its existence, the problem is that those countries does not understand how to tame an international market and make a law that could be fair for them to tap into the gains earned by its citizens  Grin.

Regulations on cryptocurrency is good only if it wouldn't alter the well decentralized platform built by crypto. Crypto needs regulations to put some flaws on check such as the issue of reported scam projects, hacked exchange sites, errors in transactions which cannot be retrieved etc.
Cryptocurrency market will be decentralized even with all the rules and regulations if you are dealing only with crypto market, once you plan to convert it to fiat currency then do not expect the decentralization as every transaction will be tracked to you. Even with laws you cannot retrieve bitcoin transactions, once the coins leaves your wallet then it is not yours, so be careful not to make those silly mistakes.
693  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin eventually disappear... on: June 16, 2019, 04:06:45 PM
Bitcoin is Finite no matter how long it takes bitcoin will eventually ran out one day but before that happens a new cryptocurrency will probably emerge that will be able to replace bitcoin. it may not be as good as bitcoin but it will be the one who continue the Bitcoin legacy.
Amused with all the responses here, if you really think that bitcoin will eventually be replaced by another coin then no one in the right might out would invest in anything that will eventually run out  Tongue. Bitcoin is here to stay and nothing is going to replace it and it will not run out of coins, in the beginning some people lost their coins because they were not serious about storing the keys as it has no valuation and that is not the situation now.
694  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at $9,000 by the end of the year on: June 16, 2019, 01:19:33 PM
I'm thinking like Pursuer, we still have to wait for the moves from good old whales. It's like they're waiting in the wings for 9k to hit again. Not much profit taking to be had though with the weak volumes on buys. But it's definitely a good platform to end the year above 9k.
The price rally of bitcoin always surprise us, the price has crossed over $9000 and once again we are seeing a bit of selling pressure, the price went over $9300 but has come down and it looks like we need some time to cross that resistance level, the next two days will determine whether we will go over the current resistance level or go back to $8000 levels, it is an interesting time for traders as i am still confused what to make of the situation Smiley.
695  Economy / Economics / Re: If the government supports bitcoin instead of the existing currency. on: June 16, 2019, 10:13:10 AM
It would be nice if the government support bitcoin, but we know the fact that it is impossible for now, bitcoin is not stable coin, prices changes time to time, as of present most transaction or payment required exact amount.
If you look at forex exchange the price are not stable either, the price changes differ all the time according to the exchange rate at that particular time, so telling you cannot accept bitcoin because of its volatility is not a sound defense Wink , not sure what you mean by requiring exact amount  Roll Eyes.

I think if government support bitcoin it will be manipulated by the government so people will be hard use bitcoin and will having a tax like centralized money. And I think it will never happen that they replace the currency they have, Bitcoin is not stable coin so it will be hard for everyone to use as currency.
You cannot manipulate a decentralized global market until you have millions of bitcoin, you need to still pay your taxes for the profits you make with bitcoin and there is no exception for that but the dream about some country replacing their national country for bitcoin is the wildest dream anyone could have as the realistic possibility to see that happening is zero.
696  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold exist 1000+ years. while bitcoins exist 10 years. on: June 12, 2019, 09:17:02 PM
During old times, gold coins were used as a currency everywhere in the world. But as the population increased, it became difficult to find enough gold to mint the coins. So the governments came up with the alternative of fiat coins and banknotes. And in due course of time, this fiat currency will be replaced by cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.
Here you are talking about thousands of years of currency evolution from the gold coins of the Roman empire to the current state which took centuries to reach where we are now and to image that the world will adopt bitcoin in the near future is a fantasy thought process, bitcoin is not empowered by any state or country to adopt them as their primary currency and bitcoin is not here to take over any countries fiat currency, it is still in the beginning phase and governments around the world are planning to implement rules and regulations to see how bitcoin fit in their economy.
697  Economy / Economics / Re: Have you figured out what you are Investing in? on: June 11, 2019, 08:57:52 AM
it's just that many people believe in bitcoin and can be used as investment assets so that their value can be very valuable.if we look at the history of bitcoin launches, bitcoin was created by shatosi to facilitate transactions that make it easier for its users
The reason why bitcoin got this much traction even during the initial stages is because of its decentralized nature and online merchants were dealing with account closure from centralized platforms like paypal without any notification and stagnation from merchant accounts and the introduction of bitcoin was a boost to their business as there will be no dispute after the transaction being done.

Mine was very simple, I hate banks and I wanted to have a currency that I do not need to use banks with.
If you are investing in bitcoin you need the help of banks or fiat currency to purchase the coins and there is no way around it and hence there is no point in hating the banks.
698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the LN's Atomic Swaps eliminate the need for centralized exchanges? on: June 08, 2019, 03:44:57 AM
Do you think that once the Lightning Network becomes used in the mainstream world, it will eliminate the need for centralized exchanges with its atomic swaps feature?
This brings a new breakthrough in the Blockchain space, as it would allow anyone to exchange one coin from the other in a P2P fashion without the need to interact with an exchange platform. The approach seems to be much more convenient than decentralized exchanges themselves too, as the process of exchanging coins is seamless.
Still though, even if atomic swaps don't succeed in taking over centralized exchanges, they'll be a nice alternative for anyone who's looking for a quick and easy process to exchange one crypto to another without the intervention of a middleman.
People depend on centralized exchanges for a reason, the high liquidity and the ease of which they can execute their orders and some major exchanges allow features such as stop loss and other options to make things easier for the users and so is the reason decentralized exchanges did not get much traction or liquidity even though there are many in the  market and that will be the case with any other feature, as you mentioned it will be an alternate option for swapping small amount of coins.
699  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io - Sponsors of the 2019 CONIFA Euros ⚽ Fun! 🏀 Fast! 🎾 Fair!🏆 on: June 05, 2019, 10:53:02 PM
And Remember, a big announcement is due at the end of next week! Can't wait!
Come on Steve why don't you give us a clue about the big announcement so that everyone could speculate what that would be and will make that a topic of discussion  Grin. Is it regarding a new license or another one Smiley

This is a great project because all we know that sport can dominate every one. All of us loves sports so when it will apply here in crypto games and casino I think this project will be patronized by netizens. But I already read some issues that there is an odds providers problem. I hope they can resolve it immediately.
Hope you are aware that this sports book is active for a very long time, yes they had their hiccups in the past when it comes to settling bets after winning but mostly they have sorted those issues and now running smoothly, not sure about the odds provider problem you are talking about as i did not see any issue with them regarding the odds, if you could explain clearly the team should resolve that without hesitation.
700  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2!! on: June 05, 2019, 10:22:30 PM
I would like to see more sports betting options as someone mention here, the French Open is on and coming to a close wit the finals now starting and I think it would be good if the owner can add some matches for us to bet on. Also add more sports as it will attract many more players to the site if there are more sports to bet on.
The sports betting option was a good addition, i recently came back to the site after three years gap and was surprised to see the difference, made some sports bets but i would like to see a parlay option being added, not sure whether it is already included and i am missing it somehow, if not adding a parlay would be a good option, the reason for that is on certain days you will see two events you wanted to bet and if i had parlay i would gladly do that but now i have to wait a day after the results to get my coins to bet again, hope  the team will add that soon.
