Citing low liquidity, Bitfinex has announced that it will soon delist over 87 trading pairs. This move reflects the increasing competition within the altcoin space, and could prompt considerably more market volatility.

Bon voyage, shitcoins.

This means people will buy bitcoin and shitcoiners will get the royal FU  Smiley

So I have some information from a meeting of the French government, I have confirmed its authenticity. I'm not into spreading craziness, just putting it out there.

They are assuming 30-40% of their population gets affected. They are planning on a peak in June. They believe it is a single event, not seasonal.

They do not believe the EU will last another 5 years.

The key part is that they believe the economic outcome will be so bad that they will have to enact martial law. The discussion regarding this is that they will need to give special treatment to the family of the military because the threat is internal as opposed to external. So they will be asking soldiers to do bad things to its own citizens and need them to think about the well being of their own families as motivation.

Just an FYI, I'm sure governments are having similar discussions.

Here in Panama everything is fine where I live since we're so far away from the city. I stocked up for a couple of months and have a fishing pole.

So basically you are saying they want to abolish the Geneva Convention? Turn France into China 2.0...
They would need to do more than leave the EU...

Or they could have a sit down with the EU parliament and build a plan on how to attack pandemics as a whole.
Maybe all countries are open to martial law or lockdown in these situations. As a whole the european continent is stronger....

P.S. there is a lot of fake news going round so please check-check-doublecheck sources....

I'm finally capitulating.  I can no longer withstand the enormous pressure to return home from my virus-free surroundings.  This town's only Chinese food restaurant shut down yesterday and they never close.  It's time to pack up and leave.  See you on the flip side.

I heard Wuhan has good restaurants ....  Tongue Wink

The more I look at the charts ... 6, 3, 6, 9, 12, 9, 6, 3, ... the more I consider this dip, as an epic bear trap.

Careful of the bull virus guys, aka BOV21.

Deepthroat edition:

This picture represents someone that went 100x leveraged long on bitcoin just before the dip Grin

Goldkingcoiner?

Mindrust?  (exaggerating on this one)

I had to get out of my position to save myself from obvious liquidation. I lost half my coins. I was at 2x dude. ;/ Ah well. I will make it back on the way up. But that dump bail had nothing to do with my TA. I just underestimated the corona scare.

I didn't have anyone in mind when I posted.
Anyone caught out in the dip I feel bad for  Cry
693  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low will BTC go? on: March 17, 2020, 09:25:49 PM
Next target for the bitmex liquidation is $250-$750.

is it just me, or are bears getting overconfident? this is beginning to sound just like bulls aiming at $100k+.

I think we will go to 2800$-$1800

#corona

Not going to happen....  Wink

masterluc has now joined the bear party. he is aiming for $1800 too: https://www.tradingview.com/chart/BTCUSD/qNy2lBH5-Bearish-outcome-of-previous-ideas/

and he's one of the conservative ones. all the cool kids are expecting <$1000 now.

What part of "not going to happen" don't you understand  Grin

Let's not write off bitcoin this soon...

 <big snip>

Well it's funny I guess but I'm not exactly ecstatic over the fact that my hunch was right. In a panic people are like sheep all over even when the average Dutchman is usually a bit more laid back about things.

True. I wasn't expecting this. TP rage is turning pandemic....
695  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 17, 2020, 03:06:49 PM
finally, the TP calculator: https://howmuchtoiletpaper.com/

I'll survive the pandemic Smiley

Let’s hope, though it’s not written in stone....  if not the disease, still watch out for crazy peeps in need for your TP

I live in the Netherlands so most people are sane here, and TP is still in the shelves amidst the outbreak.

And my focus is on staying safe. Got my surgical grade hand sanitizer. Food for 2 weeks if I get sick, etc.

Everyone should stay safe
Smiley

You probably hoarded enough TP yourself to wipe the bullshit smell from your post.

Well I bought a big 60-roll (or something) pack at the Makro a while back. And I usually take a dump at work Wink
Yesterday TP was still available in AH and Jumbo (Utrecht province).

But then again who the fuck wants to live in Zeeland province (Bible belt territory I bet) Wink

I need to go to the shop today I might take a pic and post it....

It doesn't matter where in The Netherlands. I've seen enough behaviour from people around the world to notice they mostly act the same, whether in The Netherlands, or in Zeeland, Utrecht or not. What the minority does can often still influence the rest. See Chinese wet food market asshole practices or us buying Bitcoin.

Lol TP disappeared. No TP at AH 🙈
Kleenex menthol or kitchen roll is the alternative  Wink

Checked at Jumbo and they're out too.

Funny how you can still get steak, kitchen rolls, but no TP.
What's wrong with people?

You can still clean your ass in the shower... Smiley

697  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 12K USD is the next target? on: March 17, 2020, 01:10:47 PM
LOL, what a drama queen. Cheesy

$1.2K and three digits are possible, but we need to invalidate bullish counts by breaching the 2018 lows first. I'm not at all convinced this is guaranteed. Zero? Now you're just going Prof. Bitcorn and Nouriel Roubini on us. Good luck there.

Miner capitulation would be fine. It wouldn't cause a price drop. Price doesn't follow the hash rate, it's the other way around.

Guys like that,,, I never understand. If they hate something so much, why do they even consider to waste their time coming into the forums to give their opinions? If he really believes what he says 100% then he should be shorting BTC every day and as much as he can, like the guys from the Big Short.

3 digits are possible for sure. But people do not understand probability well enough in markets.

Jealous no-coiners don't want us to get rich. They don't have the balls to invest and hope we get burnt.
If we get burnt we prove them right for not investing.
698  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin is supposed to go up of this corona! people are doing it wrong on: March 17, 2020, 01:06:22 PM
this global pandemic is here to stay

No it isn't, it will be contained soon, this is a global emergency so the smart people in the world are definitely looking for the cure that they will be releasing soon. Bitcoin is supposed to rise but not when its result is tied with the global situation, people panic so they are cashing out, same thing happens here, it would only be okay if its not a global pandemic, but it is, a serious struggle for all of us and at this time, our needs matters most than an investment.
Indeed, we all need to work with this virus hand and hand in order to find the best solution to contained the virus. It's globally issue now and it's affecting everything especially all the business sectors.
We need to focus with how we can help not with how to find the actual curement but in it's most smaller contribution by following the government rules.

+1 it will never be contained. We need to manage it...

Look at polio, measles, etc. we have vaccines but once we stop vaccination it is bound to pop up again
699  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low will BTC go? on: March 17, 2020, 01:04:07 PM

Not going to happen....  Wink

I also think that the $3k level is the absolute minimum to which the Bitcoin price may fall. However, the virus situation is still uncontrollable and panic does not seem to be smaller. People are scared, so if we don't get positive information, anything can really happen. Let's hope that the cure will be invented quickly and the situation will be controlled. This is the only way out of this crisis.

Looking at the free fall and where it got caught I too believe $3k would be the absolute bottom.
Only if we start turning into zombies will it go lower Smiley
700  Economy / Speculation / Re: Convert or HODL? on: March 17, 2020, 12:56:49 PM
HODL. I'm down too and I know it will rebound. Not my first dip...
This full collapse of the stock market has only brought bitcoin down to $5k...
Think about how much bitcoin has withstood. This is yet another test that proves how good bitcoin is.
