681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: August 21, 2015, 02:55:49 AM
I made my first purchase of ETH and got my money back and a little bit of profit in 1 hour. It seems ETH is growing fast.
Are you still holding or did you sell? Because I have a feeling we're not stopping. Smiley

Ok, thanks for the heads up. Are there any specific tests I can do to find a bug?

If I knew about those specific tests I would do them myself.  Smiley

No sir, what we need to look for are bugs that we don't even assume can exist.

So, it's pretty trial and error, and doing things that are unconventional. (whatever that means)

For example click buttons in an unexpected order, or start functions but abort them in midair etc...
Or try breaking things, forexample by adding lots of VanGen Jobs or by Starting/Stopping VanGen insane amounts of times, etc...

You get the idea.
Here's a "bug". (It was in my video I posted)

The CPU and vanity miners both have the option to use 0 cores and so the start button gets greyed out.
So it's pointless. So we just need to remove the option for 0 threads.
I thought the original wallet didn't have the option for 0 cores? Ah, I am probably just imagining it.

The update forgot to mention the proposal to name decimal units of SPR: Spreadoshi

Any thoughts or alternatives?

spores ...

spores = that which is mini-spr ...

@crysx
I like this one the most.

INCOMING: $3 USD WITHIN THE NEXT 72 HOURS!

I realise that probably represents a whole week's pocket money for you, but I seriously doubt an extra $3 is going to have much impact on the price.
Best quote of the week.

It seems that the price is lowering, ever so slowly. But when it hits 0.003, I'm all in.

I don't know if this could have anything to do with this puzzle or not, but it seems like it could be related. I figured I'd share it just in case.

The OP had another competition with a picture like this. There was a small "6" hidden in the top corner of the room in the painting. The passphrase was the 6th guy on the table. I can't remember the name though. Maybe it was Peter or something. (This was the actual original last supper painting)

^ok, this is not going to be so easy. brainwallet is dead. not sure why.

@e1ghtspace.....I'll do a guide for the video

reference:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=70911.0

Brainwallet is dead because it is so insecure. Someone sent 50 btc to the brainwallet "" (blank) and somesone stole it instantly.
Also someone had a lot of bitcoins in the brainwallet "how much wood could a wood chuch chuck if a wood chuch could chuck wood" and it got stolen. But it was given back I think (the guy that found it was a white hat "hacker").

Then said guy made a slideshow on why brainwallets are so bad and he released(?) his program to the public so now everyone can have a go cracking them.

Slideshow here: https://rya.nc/cracking_cryptocurrency_brainwallets.pdf

Everything here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1147035.0

What is that reference for? I guess we just need a website where the person who finds the address signs a message from it and posts it in a text box on the website. The website then validates it and if it is legit, notifies you to send the coins. Wait, is this in spreadcoins or bitcoins?

Thanks coins.

The other 500 SPR bounty is for signing a message, so I take it you're going to do that in the second video?
Yeah, I just need the details. I though you said somewhere we weren't going to need to do that (in the competition)?
I wasn't sure so I didn't put it into the video to avoid possible confusion.

Well, this is turning out to be a pilot, so perhaps in the video we just need to show how to sign a message within an SPR wallet, say using 2 SPR, and then show how that looks in the block chain.

Message could be:  I'm entering the Dogecoin ShibesMoon van gen competition

I think the mechanics will change as we run the pilot, but the basics of using the vanity generator and signing a message will likely be key features, even if the actual content changes.

edit

and please add links to beta wallets on windows and mac

For those looking for it

File > sign message

What do you mean by "show how that looks on the block chain"?

So basically they need to send 2 spr to an address and then sign the message from that address?

Uploading video now... my mic is bad so when I say something that has S in it (sometimes) it makes a noise.
Hopefully no one minds...

694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: August 10, 2015, 06:31:55 PM
Is there an exchange or somewhere where I can buy Ethereum? This looks amazing.

A hero member doesn't know where to trade ? hehe..  Roll Eyes
Sorry, I was expecting it to be in the op. Just found it on polo. I didn't realise how big this coin was until now.

The real dump still has to come. Wait until the coin is under 50 cents before buying.
Alright then, thanks. So buy at 0.0019 btc?   SUM - 256 btc. Wow.

Edit: After that, what do you think the price will be at the end of this year? x10?

Oh well, I still have 2k saved that I plan never to sell (for a long while).  Wink

Hello everyone,

Is there an exchange where virtualcoin can be traded?

Currently not. For a few weeks we were on the c-cex.

How do you like the new logo? Wink
The new logo looks great!

Are there any plans for an exchange?
