681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Shuffle.com ⚽ 🏈 Sports Betting Contest Discussion | Round 1 live on: December 20, 2023, 08:41:05 AM
1. Since I didn't put such rules, I will allow duplicate bet for this round but that's a valid concern and I'll make sure to deny any such bets in the future round.
If you don't post within 48 hours of settle, that won't be considered as valid entry.
Does that mean we can also make multiple entries from a single match while betting on different markets (handicap, totals, match winner, etc.) as long as it's within the minimum odds?

I guess I have to switch my strategy if that's the case. Wink

It's a loophole BigCoin95 used. Since we had no such rules, I will allow this time but from the next round, I may not allow this.
This is good for bettors like me who just recently find out about this contest, I need to make more bets now even on live betting on the same game just to make sure I'll get the minimum. I still have 24 hours tnough, I'm sure this will be fun. If the cut off is December 21, 2023, when are you going to announce the winner @LM?
682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 20, 2023, 07:13:41 AM
Ja Morant is finally back and he did it with an awesome display of what he is capable of doing. In his return to the Grizzlies, Ja Morant led the way as they came back strong from 24 points down to beat the Pelicans, 115-113. What made the return more exceptional was when Morant made the buzzer shot to close the match.

The Memphis Grizzlies have 56 more matches left to play this season. The arrival of Morant could be late for them but if they can win 36 of those matches then they have a case to join the other playoff teams.
Poor defense by Pelicans. Anyway hopefully Ja Morant learned a lesson from that 25 games suspension and will start taking care his career more seriously! With him back in the league, the NBA will be more exciting and entertaining to watch. Hopefully, in the next game he can reduce his turnovers since in his season debut he had 5 turnovers. But still it was a great performance with a buzzer beater in the comeback appearance and season debut. Still hoping Memphis can make playoffs this season.
Let's forget about that turnover; most didn't expect him to have a great performance in his first game due to chemistry issues. If you look at the first half, it was apparent that this team wasn't going to win. However, in the second half, it was surprising to see them come back and even beat the Pelicans.

For a player who missed a lot of games and came back as the top scorer with 34 points and a high shooting percentage, that's truly impressive. Ja Morant's performance proves that he is the one and only superstar of the team. And as we have seen before, without him, the team struggles, but now they're back to looking like a playoff team.
683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Succeeded in introducing Bitcoin to a friend on: December 19, 2023, 11:32:54 PM
If you know and understand bitcoin well, you will never disclose whatever amount of bitcoin you have because that's still considered a digital cash, your kind of asset that you need to keep it privately away from the awareness of other people even your closest friend or relative. Because once you do that, the safety of your bitcoin will now be at risk, thus putting your wallet as well from the danger of future hacks or scams.

I understand that you come to overshared what you have, and it's definitely not the right thing to do when you are in an investment. There's no issues with educating your friend about bitcoin and bitcointalk forum, but never risk your own privacy just to successfully convince your friend to invest in bitcoin. In bitcoin, there's no one you can trust but only yourself so learn not to be easily trusting even to your closest friends.
684  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you still appreciates the price of Bitcoin if it hasn't be your history price on: December 19, 2023, 10:59:45 PM
Bitcoin price history is just part of the past, and there's no even concrete reason if history will still repeat itself, so I don't put too much emphasis on the price history but most particularly on the future price of bitcoin. We all know that bitcoin has a brighter future because of its huge potentials to succeed, and most likely will continue to skyrocket its price as long as it's capable to.

Once we decide to invest in bitcoin, then we need to appreciate its price every now and then. Although it's undeniable that bitcoin has also its inevitable lows, but because the people believed in it, people have seen high utility case for bitcoin, then definitely bitcoin will not disappoint us in return as long as we have the patience to wait and understand the market's uncertainty.
685  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The most difficult times on: December 19, 2023, 10:36:17 PM
If we can trade just like how professional traders do it, then most likely it will gain the highest positive outcome. However, it's hard for beginners to act as if they are skilled and reputable traders when they are still learning the process to trade. That's the most difficult time in trading, assessing yourself if you are reliable to do it or just quit in the process while you are still not losing too much.

But, no matter how difficult trading is, it can always be study and learned, so beginners have no reason to quit but to endure the difficulties in trading until one will find himself good enough to trade and combat losses. After all, mastery in trading do not just happen instantly, there's always a process that one should familiarize and mastered in the long run.
686  Economy / Economics / Re: Learn to use DEBT in a proper way to create asset on: December 19, 2023, 09:17:51 PM
Debt is not something good in a general perspective do let's not make it appears as if one is bad and the other is good, most people that have been into debt have always lamented of why they took the decision at the first place, we don't seems to understand the comfort we have without being in debt like when we out ourselves in debt, many use to struggle before they can make the repayment of their debt back to their creditors, because it's never easy to pay back debt except by grace.
I don't think taking a debt falls on the good side of it because if we analyze it deeply, debts have growing interest that will definitely put us buried if we can't pay it on time due to some other unpredicted financial problems that will suddenly arise. Debts will only serve as a distraction for us no matter how we say and try to convince ourselves that we also benefit from it in times where we are empty handed.

If you consider this mindset that it's okay to have some debts because it will also serve it's purpose at some point, but knowing you have to pay it back with additional interest, that thing is always bad on my own perspective.

I'm reading..... and I'm quite interested with this type of contest.

Good thing LM put this in the gambling discussion board as I rarely visit the games and rounds section. I haven't started placing a bet yet, I'm still waiting for my btc to credit to my account then I'll send it to my shuffle account, let's see if I will have a Merry Christmas here.  Smiley
688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin create an opportunity to reduce poverty? on: December 19, 2023, 02:37:46 PM
I believe learning bitcoin has always been free since everything is already laid in the internet, one just need to do its due diligence to study  so that he will come to understand bitcoin and the rest of the crypto market.

However, when asked if bitcoin provides opportunity to reduce poverty, yes it really is. But majority of the people do not know or do not care about this since all they believe is that bitcoin is a ponzi scheme and a big threat to the government. Only those bitcoin enthusiasts are aware about this, the reason why everyone in the bitcoin community is really struggling to save money to purchase bitcoin even at a minimal amount.

On the other hand, poverty cannot be totally eradicated but it can somehow be reduced having bitcoin as a tool. And in order to do that, one must personally gain sufficient knowledge in bitcoin so he can use it smartly to create big positive changes in his life. I've known a lot of people who's lives are improved with bitcoin, but it takes a lot of patience and persistency in the market to make it happen.
689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does match fixing concern you often? on: December 19, 2023, 05:10:24 AM
why would you not? the only reason a person will be not concerned is if he/she knows that it is fixed and profited from that kind of scheme, if I'm the person who bets on the other side, and found out later it is fixed I will be mad, since it should not be, because there are lot of people who is expecting that its all good, that there are no cheating, but sadly like other said, they are doing this because of money.

Even if you don't know if a certain game is fixed, you should already believe that fixed game could happen anytime, in any sports. That in mind, as a bettor you'll already consider it in analyzing your bets.

Sports betting is not easy as we think, not because we are familiar with sports and we are good in math, that doesn't guarantee a win since there are factors like sports rigging that has to be considered all the time. Though we would not know what game but at least should suspect for awhile, so we won't fall into trap lines.
690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 19, 2023, 04:25:48 AM
Cavs -3.5, Clippers -1.5, Wolves -1.5 Mavs +8.5.
I'm in the same boat with a couple of your picks, mainly on the Twolves, as the Heat still looks questionable with their recent results, while the Twolves remain dominant even on the road.

You were right again on this one, Miami Heat started strong but the 2nd half all belonged to the Timberwolves.

I got a wrong pick today because I bet on the Sixers thinking they'll again dominate their opponent. Unfortunately, it's the Bulls who ended up winning the game, I didn't notice that the Bulls has been playing recently, should have bet on the other side, but that's gambling, just gotta move on to the other game.

Right now, lakers are down a double digit, but I believe they'll come back. Betting line now @2.65 moneyline.
691  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much human supervision do you believe AI needs for crypto trading? on: December 18, 2023, 02:09:45 PM
I don't know why people want to make AI the one controlling their trading. Because as far as I know, AI is not as intelligent as people say, it is just code written by intelligent people who can process information and provide results according to their analysis. So the results offered by AI are based on the limited information it receives. While not all information is available online, there are sources of information that cannot be accessed by AI, trader experience, technical analysis, and other factors that make individual trading much better than what AI can offer.
But maybe it would be no problem to use AI as a trading assistant, either to remind you to enter the market, to make deposits, and other things related to trading.
If you can integrate part of AI in your trading activity, that would be better. But never completely rely on AI alone as its still unreliable when it comes to future predictions and decision making. Human intelligence is still at its utmost importance, while AI can only be useful in some aspects in trading.

However, we still don't know what will be the future capabilities of using AI into trading, but for now using AI creates some risk, so you need to apply human intelligence in most of your trades to increase rate of positive outcome.
692  Economy / Economics / Re: Insurance is important on: December 18, 2023, 01:41:25 PM

If you make money, get health insurance for you and your family, and insure your assets that are a source of income, businesses. Get a life insurance to secure your family's future.
There's a saying " hope for the best and plan for the worst".

It makes a lot of sense to insure our basic needs, especially if we live in a country where there is no protection scheme to provide security for our family. Health insurance should be the first insurance we take out, because we never know what kind of illness we might face in life. Same goes for life insurance, if our family relies heavily on our income that we need to think of the worst case scenario. The problem in my country is that there is insurance for everything and the financial analyst earns a lot of commission for every new contract being signed. It's really hard to find the optimal level of insurance, because the sales people will always try to offer the premium package first. A lot of my friends are to,more than a 100% insured, which costs them a lot every month.
Health is wealth so we should learn to prioritize it and even ensured it in order to prepare ourselves when unpredicted events happen. Just like investments or properties and assets, getting insurance is a must because this will cover the expenses whenever these assets will be put in danger and vanish in the end. But of course, you have to pay the price as well so you can benefit the insurance when it's highly needed.

The problem is people have less or no interest in getting insurance because of the monthly obligation they have to pay most especially for those who are not educated on their chosen investments or assets.
693  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens if bitcoin price hits 6 figures and up? on: December 18, 2023, 12:32:23 PM
The other thing I thought of was this.  If btc hits 6 figures and goes to say 250k or even 500k usd, well that would mean there would be quite a lot of new millionaires out there compared to now since you still need a sizeable amount of btc to be a millionaire.

There would only be millionaires if they sell, and they can only sell if there are buyers. For that reason the huge price peaks don't last very long - lots of holders want to sell and not a lot of people want to buy so the price collapses. Plus a lot of holders just keep holding because no one knows for how long the bull run will last and when the bear market hits it's already too late to sell.

Bitcoin isn't really affecting economies or societies because only a small percentage of the population buys or sells it.
Bitcoin hasn't been a mainstream so we cannot assume that if btc price goes up, the price of  basic necessities will also move up. It has not been legalized as a legal tender or currency by majority of the countries so we cannot say that it will create a huge effect on the society's economy. Prices these days have been soaring high because of pure inflation and nothing else.

However, we can't tell if in the future bitcoin will still not affect the prices of our commodities. Bitcoin is slowly recognized by financial institutions so most probably it might create a difference in the future.
694  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best decision you can take on: December 18, 2023, 11:59:13 AM
That will be a good decision if you are new to trading or basically a newbie. But a skilled trader is the one who analyses all the possibilities and trade in whatever the condition of the market is. Yes as you trade more, you will gain more experience and hence you will be more confident. For this reason, I always advise people to trade with demo account in order to get acquainted with the market conditions. Once you feel confident and learn various strategies on various situations, trade in the real market and make profit.
However, even the most skillful traders still experience inevitable losses when they try to trade when the market is very uncertain. That is the reason why staying off the market for some time is also necessary rather than jumping to trading as long as you want. Professional traders definitely know when to trade and when to stop trading. So they won't insist trading when they know already the probability to be in profits is at its lowest.

Using demo account in trading may also be a good option. But we all know that its still different when trading in a live market rather than trading using demo account. If you are profitable trading without real money involved, then that won't guarantee that you will still be profitable trading in a real market.
695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm after a gambling site for ufc betting that accepts bitcoin on: December 18, 2023, 10:48:28 AM
Regarding VPN, I use tunnelbear and so far it has worked smoothly without any problems.
The terms and conditions allow the vpn?
Good question, the problem is some might not allow VPN, if we just decide in our mind that since many casinos are allowing VPN so every single one of them should, wouldn't that land many in trouble? That's why reading terms and conditions is the best thing you can do for yourself when you decide to send your crypto into an online casino account to gamble, make sure you check every thing very well before you start using the platform.

I am very sure that a legit casino will show the sign of power over your fund once you break their rules, and there is no way you can win them, breaking the rules is very serious with online casinos, even if the casino is a very popular one you have nothing to defend yourself with, you are already guilty.

Just to be on the safe side, don't use VPN to hide something, like you want to violate the rules of a casino by changing your location. I've read a lot of concerns relating to that already, so using VPN isn't really advisable at all, since most regulated casinos would want their gamblers to be transparent, which means they should show their real location based on their IP address.
696  Economy / Economics / Re: Pay discrimination on: December 18, 2023, 09:44:07 AM
Sad reality but majority of the countries are adopting that kind of outlook or mentality. Most likely, since these skilled workers are undergraduate and are not degree holders so they only get minimum wage payout while those having high positions in a company will receive higher payouts most likely because of their higher educational achievement. The higher their educational attainment is, the bigger demand they get from their companies.

To be honest, if only all the countries government are discouraged from having pay discrimination, then there will be no hungry and homeless families around. People will work hard because the harder they do their jobs, the bigger pay they will get.
697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin as digital currency on: December 18, 2023, 08:49:47 AM
No government should prohibit the ownership of this technology

. I mean this is freedom money just like national value is freedom and bitcoin
Is the word dream money.

Someone very wise say if you're born poor you die poor and I quote

But with bitcoin if you're born poor and get education and you work hard you
Can be any thing you want.

But the way we can achieve more of the dream is  when bitcoin freedom is
Intact and when are able to save bitcoin for our future and our family.thats what bitcoin is all about.

With bitcoin, if you're born poor, then the more reasons that you have to take bigger risk with bitcoin. Bitcoin is most probably what we call our future, so we need to set it as our goal to accumulate as much as we can and hold them longer so we can reap massive profits in the future. It is in bitcoin that we can have the full control, and not over a centralized fiat, so if we can maximize the opportunities provided by bitcoin, then there'll be no reason we'll die staying poor and homeless.

However, the government still sees bitcoin as a threat to fiat so if we can hold bitcoin without alarming the government, then that would be the best option for now. Bitcoin is a decentralized currency, the reason why we have to deal with it more privately.
698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever heard about financing a gambler? on: December 18, 2023, 07:38:58 AM
It is because of this that even if casinos did not gave themselves a house edge and all their games were fair they will still beat most gamblers over the long term.

Don't thnk that way as it will not happen ,we can be chasing in gambling but a casino not using their house edge, that's running a business without assurance they'll make profit. Mind you, casino is business, yes there's a risk of losing too but they take a calculated risk and with that the house edge is significantly considered so they'll conitnue to stay profitable.

House edge + limit to winners... That's their recipe to success.
699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 18, 2023, 06:55:27 AM

I'm now certain that the Suns will win, but as to covering the spread, I'm 50/50 on that.

You were correct, Suns were able to come back and win but they didn't cover the high spread. 108-112, it's just a 4 point win, so @Boltz was right as the underdog have covered the handicap. You know what I saw in the game? Poole again with a bad shot selection, I mean it doesn't look like a usual shot, looks like an acrobatic shot for me, he didn't wait until he got a clear view or maybe just pass it to someone with, he just shoot the ball with his low percentage shot.
700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 18, 2023, 02:06:40 AM
The Boston Celtics are the first team to reach 20 wins this season by successfully and easily beating Orlando Magic and this will be a message for them and a chance to improve their play because there will be a higher chance that they could meet up in the NBA playoffs and the same scenario could happen unless they find a way to stop Tatum and Brown offense. Just like that, we are now a few months away from NBA all-stars week, and after that, the real game begins for the playoff teams.

Celtics beat Magic back to back. Magic was one of the thoughest teams in the East but Celtics show them they are not at same level. I see only Sixers as a competition for Celtics.
As for All-Stars, Tatum and Brown will definitely be in there, but I think Porzingis also should be in the discussion. His stats are pretty good lately.

Yes, so far celtics and Sixers the teams that are showing some great consistency, but don't count the Bucks yes, especially the Miami Heat as they were the team that made suprises last playoffs. With Jimmy Butler's being healthy, they are still a big threat even if they will not end up with a good standing, remember they were the defending ECF champions.
