How hard would it be to sell though? I mean if you had 1000 coins worth $1000 each, how long would it take to find a buyer with a million bucks?
Might need to go through an experienced broker, much like when you buy/sell real estate.
In todays market, 1-2 days at mtgox. By the time it reaches $1k daily volume there will likely also increase. But it would then take 1000 days to withdraw it from Mt Gox, no? Or could they arrange to send you $1m.

I would have answered no to this question a a month ago---now I'm starting to think Bruce Wagner is right when he says it will be $1000 by the end of the year.

What is the point of making threads like this?
I'm a sad lonely virgin and I have no prospects for a girlfriend. Please love me.

Do you think 1 BTC will be worth 200 USD at some point this year?

Obviously I'm late to the party...
Relative to the people before you. But very early relative to the millions of people who may join the party after you.

Best way to say it, I think, is difficulty provides lower bound on price (as measured in mining input costs).
2nd best way to say it is with chickens and eggs.

Why would you prefer to use it for internet transactions over a credit card?
Just because a particular purchase is legal, doesn't mean you want your bank (or whoever they sell your data to) knowing about it. Oh plus it's (currently) way way cheaper than Visa's fees.

As far as the timing goes, it looks like this post is the winner: I predict $20 by the end of May.
And this gets 2nd place: $20 sometime in july, at the latest.

one person can own multiple addresses
Don't forget: One address can be owned by multiple people. how can that be true? Scroll up. Don't forget: One address can be owned by multiple people.
Would you mind explaining that one? They could be reserve wallets of large exchangers like MtGox etc. Yep, or it could be as simple as my brother and I working as a team.

Reading this makes me really upset that I sold 112 (all) of my BTC a couple months ago for only $118... I've only been able to scrounge 10 or so BTC since then via mining... kinda depressing the more I think about it Don't worry, I'm sure it's being used for a good cause hookers and blow.

Can't you just shift left, like a bitwise operation? Will PM you, thanks

Not sure where "$1.3M" is "extremely wealthy", but it sure isn't here in the US.
Maybe in US highschools and universities... Bitcoin community is a young crowd, no?

Haven't seen the Bitcoin checkout at my local grocery story yet. My landlord does not accept Bitcoins either yet. Fixed that for you.
