701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is cryptocurrency illegal in some countries? on: October 01, 2023, 10:07:58 AM
The government hates decentralization.  This is because the government likes to be incharge. They like to control their citizens and be involved in thier activities (financial activities inclusive). The use of certain cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or other private coins cannot avail the government this opportunity of controlling the financial activities of her Citizens.

Use of cryptocurrencies tends to lower the revenue the government gets from her Citizens through taxation. It will be difficult (if not impossible) for the government to know the percentage of tax to impose on owners of private coins except the taxes are imposed on the goods and services they enjoy which is not fair enough.

The government is also aware that fraudsters carry out their criminal transactions on the cryptocurrency exchange due to the private nature of most of these coins using the dark Web Because they know they will never be caught.
The government is aware of all this, hence the illegalization of cryptocurrency.
702  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Too much pressure on the male child on: September 30, 2023, 03:24:41 PM
Our expectations from the male child is killing them gradually, a man without money is not just a problem to others, but to himself.

when I see young men engaging into things they ought not to due to lack of money, my heart bleeds.
Our society today have made the male child without money useless, and that have push them to their early grave and most of them engaging into criminal or fraudulent activities just to make a living which have brought them to their untimely end.

I am a proud African, I know how blessed we are with different mineral resources but our government is not helping matters by providing good jobs.

We should stop putting too much pressure on the male child, because they also feel pain.

The male child without money is not useless, they also deserve to live without being pressured!

A typical African male child is expected to be strong and brave. He is expected to protect his family, ensure no hurt comes close to his women. He is expected to provide his basic needs and that of those around him. He is not expected to weep or complain because he will be tagged a weakling.  An African male must be a problem solver. Where he cannot  solve problems,  then he is of no use. An African male child should have money ....plenty money or else he will not be regarded in the gatherings of men.

Let the male child breath! Enough of all this pressure on the male child.
The society is all about survival...survival of the fittest and only those who can survive the pressure will scale through. Those who cannot meet up fall out.
703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs the government on: September 30, 2023, 02:41:45 PM
Government and their fear for Bitcoin!

Bitcoin as a decentralized digital currency that operate without a financial system or without being controlled by the government is really creating panick and fear in most government officials.

Please the government need to know this, they have already lost.
All the bitcoineers cheers
We cannot dispute the fact that bitcoin has stood the test of time. One can comfortably say it is the hope of the common man since the value of fiat keeps reducing. Other securities,  stocks, bonds or commodities over the years have not sufficiently proven to be a good store of value. Bitcoin is the real multipurpose digital gold.

Definitely, the government cannot completely ban bitcoin. But I do not also believe bitcoin and the government are at war. Satoshi himself did not create bitcoin to be at war with the fiat, rather to complement it. What the government is trying to do is to regulate bitcoin and other cryptocurrency exchange in the country.

We are not ignorant of the fact that many criminals and fraudulent people are using the bitcoin platform to carryout their criminal and fraudulent activities because they know these transactions will be difficult to trace or not traced at all. If all this are not curtailed, then no one is safe

I cannot wait for the second round of the match to commence to see if new castle can be able to win their match. In the group of new castle which is regarded as death group, I never thought that new castle could have one point. But I am surprised that they drew during the last match.
Since they drew and for the fact that they are doing well in the English Premier League,  it can boost their morale and they will be able to qualify.

If new castle can be consistent this season, evenif they are not able to qualify for the Champions League,  at least they should be among the top four of the English Premier League.
705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 30, 2023, 11:53:19 AM
While we all are busy predicting today's matches,  let us not also forget Chelsea vs Fulham match on Monday evening. During the previous season, Chelsea performed poorly. It was obvious that they were not in form.  This season,  I and I believe everyone of us expected Chelsea to restrategize or learn from their mistakes last season and do better this season,  but their results this season are still very poor despite the fact that they bought new players and a new coach.
Now, if Chelsea is struggling to play with smaller teams, how will their performance be if they narrowly scale through this season and are faced with the challenge of playing with bigger teams? I can only imagine.
However, let us keep our fingers crossed. Just maybe they might surprise us.
706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 28, 2023, 04:41:05 PM
I thought this was just a lucky win for Chelsea because several times Brighton players actually had the chance to score but were thwarted by Robert Sanchez and after that in the second half Chelsea managed to score goal with pride.
Imagine that there 4 opportunities that I counted for Brighton to score goal and if all the opportunities can produce goal, I think Chelsea will lose badly against Brighton with a score of 4 which they failed to use well and I see Pochettino very proud of yesterday match even though it was luck that can be thwarted by the Chelsea goalkeeper.
Chelsea's win yesterday was a needed win in order to keep the heads of Chelsea up above the water. If they had lost yesterday's match, their moral would have been very down and their confidence level reduced. In as much as we are expecting Pochettino to master the Chelsea system and start doing well, having consecutive losses would do more harm than good to both Chelsea as a club, the coach and the players.
With the performance of Chelsea in that match, it isn't obvious that Chelsea has escaped their epileptic performance for this season yet.
707  Economy / Economics / Re: Is academic pursues enough to get incomes? on: September 28, 2023, 04:22:31 PM
Most people who go for more degrees believe they can get better job at the end of the day. People that only go for more degrees in a stare with high unemployment rate are they doing right thing by putting all their focus on academic because this is the only thing they can do best.
Education is fine and going to higher institution is something that is recommended for everyone because many things are taught in the higher institution that you might not learn mingling in the society. Getting a degree and going for higher degrees is also good because it boosts individual confidence and raises societal prestige. But then in some developing countries, higher institutions and getting degrees are gradually becoming a scam this is because, the effort and time invested in going to higher institution and the amount of money spent in this higher institution does not correlate with the reward.

This is why some people in certain region of my country do not pay much attention to Western education, rather they involved in business and before they could turn 20, they are all millionaires doing better than people that have degrees.
708  Economy / Economics / Re: You can't meet all your needs/desires at once, even if you spend all your salary on: September 28, 2023, 03:57:00 PM
$10,000 is still small amount of money if you're want to reach financial freedom.

It's wrong if you said someone can't meet all their desires at once, if they're rich people e.g. Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos etc, actually they can fulfill all their needs and they don't have to worry about the money they spend.

If you're a mediocre, even you've invest all of your money and gain a lot profit, you still not able to reach financial freedom because the salary you earn aren't big.
No matter how rich anyone may appear to be, their needs are still insatiable. That is just the simple nature of Man. While you have mentioned the billionaires of the world, you have forgotten that their problems and the goals that they want to achieve are quite big compared to yours, for instance, Elon Musk would want to own Twitter, also own Facebook and everything that is related to meta. He also wants to control almost all the top companies of the world, but he cannot actually do that because his present resources will not permit him to get everything at the same time. That is the bone of context of the Op. Do not deliberately digress from what he is discussing, but be it as it may, human needs are insatiable. The more money you have, the more money you want.

711  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Leaders are Dreamers on: September 27, 2023, 07:39:16 AM
Leadership is the most hardest role one can ever imagine, to be a leader, means being in charge of controlling people, in their hundreds, thousands, and millions. And that's the literal meaning. Human beings are the most complex set of creations in the world. So controlling them as another human being will require a whole lot of efforts and energy put into the process.
You are seeing leadership from the larger scale and this could hinder your true understanding of leadership. Being a leader does not mean that you will have to command and control people in their thousands and millions. It is not only the president and the governors that are leaders. I will appreciate it if you see leadership from the grassroots. If you understand that the father in aby family is the leader of that family. If you also understand that the first child is also a leader. Among the play group of children, there is a leader inside. In the denomination and workplace there are leaders.
They could be controlling just two persons. It doesn't matter. But once they are in charge to make some certain decisions at that time, they can be called leaders at that level.
712  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is politics really necessary? on: September 27, 2023, 07:24:35 AM
We can't do without politics because it is human nature. There most be people to lead and people on high authorities to make sure that the country is in a progressive state. Politics is needed to choose a leader or president. Politics is everywhere,in churches, families,in our place of work.

I understood the context in wish the Op asked the question if politics is really necessary. If politics is played rightly the way it is supposed to be in order to cater for the poor masses and the general public, op would not have asked this question regarding the necessity of politics. The reason why he asked the question is because politics has been hijacked by some few cartel who does not do any good thing with politics rather, they use the power given to them by the people to intimidate some people and accumulate much money for their personal use instead of using the money for the general benefits of the public.

This type of politics is really not necessary but the real type of politics where the politician who eventually becomes the leader uses the resources of the people to take care of the people is necessary.
713  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quality over Quantity on: September 27, 2023, 07:09:10 AM
The matter of quality post is always confusing in the forum,
This matter really look confusing, even me I thought quality post is when the article is very long that will cover almost ten lines, but sincerely speaking is now I understand what the quality post means. I prefer the quality than the quantity, but sometimes it depends on the type of information they are trying to pass, I have the habit of not reading long article because sometimes when I start I use to forget what I read from the beginning due to the longness of the article, and also find it difficult to understand, but if the story or the article is short I grab it easily and my understanding is very fast, and also making a reply is very quick.
I have never heard of forgetfulness when article is very long. I know it is possible but it should be rare. If someone is reading a meaningful article that has strong connections from one paragraph to another, there shouldn't be any room for one to forget what they have read.  They will only forget if the long article is uninteresting, in such cases, I do not even have the patience to finish reading the article.

It isn't confusing, there is already a thread for guidelines on how to make a quality post.  If you are interested here is the list(the last link is a technique to make your post look better):

I have read many articles about making a quality post and I understood that there is no single way to making a quality post. It is not also something that is taught over night.
714  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin, unbelievable but true. on: September 26, 2023, 10:24:08 AM
So I’d advice you edit that part out because I feel you’ll definitely get bashed for that.

That's true mate, I see no reason why he blames the forum for his stucked transaction.somehow I feel like you still haven't understood fully how the Blockchain functions and will advice you to learn more about it. Slow transaction can be a cause of network congestion. Also, using a low fee, sometimes will reduce the speed of your transaction so it's advice to increase your fee if you want a speedy transaction or have patience. Your funds aren't lost. You can always track them on the memepool using a Blockchain explorer and your transaction hash or wallet address.
It is very true that the Op does not understand very well how bitcoin works and the difference between bitcoin network and the bitcointalk forum. In his brain, he is just contradicting everything. This can be seen how he blamed the bitcointalk forum for delayed transaction. I have to congratulate him because he has started earning from the forum, but it will be very good if he will start to learn about bitcoin. This will help him in the long run. He just concentrated on learning about the forum and how to rank up.  Now you have gotten the full member rank, please, endeavour to learn about the bitcoin which is the main purpose we are here.
715  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quality over Quantity on: September 26, 2023, 09:53:57 AM
Recently I've seen alot of threads where people just jump into writing an incredible episode without putting their readers into consideration.
I'm not a fan of reading very long articles and most times I think some posts ought to be simplified and summarized to get ease of attention and from my observation,  it seems most users confuse quantity with quality and think, writing very long post simply means the post has quality  which is wrong.

I've seen very short and straight to the point post doing extremely  very well on the forum and people ought to them learn from  them.

The matter of quality post is always confusing in the forum, especially for newcomers and most times I do not blame them because no matter however you look at the matter, quality post in this forum is largely measured by the length of the post. This is the reason that some managers will tell you that any post that is less than 150 words would not be counted. So this does not mean that whatever anyone is writting, they should make it unnecessarily long. They should not also be rules for you to make a post. There are some kind of discussion that two lines will be able to convey while there are some discussions that we need upto 20 lines in order to have the full understanding of the post.
716  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Accumulating Bitcoin with ease on: September 26, 2023, 09:38:11 AM
If I have a service offering services or selling products online, I still prefer to accept payments via fiat. From the profit I get, I can accumulate Bitcoin using DCA. At least, that's what I've done so far.

I can't introduce Bitcoin to potential buyers because many of them still do not know about Bitcoin and how to use it. So, instead of confusing them or telling them to learn about Bitcoin before they start buying, it's better to stick to fiat as a means of payment.
I have been an advocate of what you are doing for so long time. I used to advice business people, especially the small-scale business people that it is not a matter of compulsion for them to drag their customers to begin to buy their products with Bitcoin. You should introduce the payment method that is very easy for customers to use than to bring a system that is complicated and the customers do not understand very well. It is high time we began to differentiate between business and bitcoin. You can decide to promote Bitcoin in whatever ways but differentiate it with business.

Accept payment in fiat and you can buy bitcoin with the profit you make from your business. It is very simple.
717  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My first knowledge in Bitcoin/Bitcointalk on: September 26, 2023, 09:26:18 AM
Welcome to the forum!
It's always nice seeing newbies who already have good information about bitcoin and bitcointalk before joining the forum. If you can continue to learn, your knowledge of bitcoin will increase very fast. You have to be grateful to your uncle because he did marvellous to you. I however wish to react to some of the things you discussed below:

1) buy bitcoin and store it in the wallet for the next bull market   to come. And he told me to buy it in the bear market and invest it for a long term investment for like 3_5 years period, so I am planning to invest for the long term.
At this time, I will advise you to eradicate the mindset of 3 to 5yrs holding in you. If you continue with the mindset, you may be cheated by the coming bull run.

But trading is more risk than investment.
Both are risky, just know what you are doing else you will hold for long term and in the end earn nothing.

718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 23, 2023, 09:21:36 AM
In as much as I've always been an advocate of not underrating small teams, I still can't help but agree with you, Manchester city's performance in all their games this season have made them almost unbeatable by any team in this current season in the EPL, though being an Arsenal fan and my happiness is seeing Arsenal win all their games, but when it comes to beating Manchester city, it's almost impossible..
Even though this is the reality, in my opinion, so far the only clubs in the Premier League that still have potential and can provide a tight game can be said to be Arsenal and Liverpool. As far as I know, these two clubs are quite stable and at certain times Manchester City is not always in favorable conditions. So, if you look at Arsenal's growth in a more positive direction, it doesn't rule out the possibility that the meeting between Manchester City and Arsenal will be a match worth paying attention to for all Gunner fans.
Last season the competition in the English Premier League was strictly between Manchester City and Arsenal. That is how it is going to be again in this season. I have not seen any club that will give them hardkick apart from Liverpool, as you said this is because Liverpool has improved in their performance and many of their players are back from injury. So we expect that this players will continue to play their best because because this season will not be difficult task.
This weekend, I do not expect that club like Nottingham Forest will have anything to get against Manchester City.
719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 23, 2023, 08:54:25 AM
Well, the first UEFA Champions League 2023/2024 matchday has just ended. There was a lot of exciting drama, a shower of goals, surprises, even a saving goal from a goalkeeper on this first matchday.

One thing that stands out is Arsenal's 4-0 victory over PSV and Barcelona's 5-0 victory over Royal Antwerp. There was also a rain of goals in the Bayern Munich vs Man United match which was marked by a blunder by the MU goalkeeper, Onana. Finally, many voices emerged, was it right to buy Onana??
Many astonishing things happened such as the loud victory of Arsenal against PSV. But that of Barcelona wasn't a surprise to me as I didn't even bother to view the match.  Antwerp is no where a match to FC Barcelona, so I expected the loud victory.
Coming to Manchester United, even if Onana accepted the blame of losing the match, I so much applaud Manchester United for fighting so well in the match. Tbh, I didn't expect Manchester United to win the match against Bayern Munich, but on a second thought, sharing the points would have been a good result for Manchester United if their goalie was stable.
When you are in the Champions League stage, you have to learn to minimise mistakes.
720  Economy / Speculation / Re: A Simple Reason Why Bitcoin and Crypto Prices Must Fall to Zero on: September 22, 2023, 09:03:51 AM
It's funny how all responders here ignore the argument at hand and just write stuff completely unrelated to it. The argument talks about the difference between speculative and real demand. The usual crypto propaganda for attracting speculators cannot refute it. The difference between speculative and real demand is so simple to comprehend that there is no need to say anything more than what was said in the opening post. Let alone respond to all those ad hominem and non sequitur comments.

When you make this kind of controversial topics you don't expect anything different.
  • The topic is controversial
  • The topic is lengthy
  • The topic could be a fallacy
The reason why there seems to be off topic reply is because many people are not reading the wall of text but they are replying base on three title.
