702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The myth of 21 million coins on: June 21, 2013, 04:47:29 AM
There are like 608 sites now that offer bitcoin coupons.

What's to stop one of these from just making coupons... Kind of like how the feds do it. Its always backed by coin, but if everyone pulls out there wont be enough.

Sure, that's called a "short squeeze".  But you can settle in cash.  So instead of me giving you your 10 coins i could give you say $1200

No that's called an IOU, like printing money only generating it.

Must be good for the economy, 600 million rounds is a lot.
705  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "Dollar headed for 'multi-year rally' " on: June 21, 2013, 01:53:53 AM
Just American hype to prop up their falling dollar.

Check the amount of US bonds the Chinese hold and how they are ready to switch the entire world oil economy from petro/US to petro/gold and therby remove the US$ as the worlds reserve currency.

This move will bring about the economic downfall of the US and hurt the west but above all it will mean the US no longer has a defacto income from dumping bonds / cash onto the world market.

They can do that, but then we can also drain our fields dry, make a killing on the markets, I'm taking trillions $$$ and one we're bone dry of all the oil we dumped, we will start using our H2O patents to power our cars off of water.

I think that would be the best thing for our economy, loads of high paying jobs, we would not know what to do with our reserves.

Rent the top floor as office space to pay for the cost of maintaining the building.
708  Other / Off-topic / Re: Found BTCs? on: June 17, 2013, 06:15:19 AM
Well if you don't want your 'dirty' money, you can give me a small business loan to be repaid with interest of clean money.

PM Me Cheesy
709  Economy / Economics / Re: Nope, Not Cyprus on: June 16, 2013, 06:57:47 AM
So what you're telling me is that there are 78,000 cheap places to live, slim chance to hit a red light, 1/3 of ambulances are running, but with the slim chance to hit a red light you save yourself $1000 going to the hospital yourself, and the cops wont come running on my shit for smoking a joint on the sidewalk.

If I didn't hear that Detroit was a gang ridden, shitty place to live to begin with, sounds like paradise to me.
710  Economy / Economics / Re: USA Debt Repayable on: June 16, 2013, 06:51:12 AM
2/3 of the debt is owned by the population, the other 1/3 come and get it  Grin

4400 at today's rate... 8 month return at today's rate... add at least 100 million difficulty by the end of your 8 months.

It will never pay for itself, and I will laugh at anyone who buys it.
712  Economy / Digital goods / Re: $600 United Voucher for 1BTC on: June 16, 2013, 06:07:16 AM
Dang I wish I saw this the other day, would make my plans of a random trip to PRico a lot cheaper. I might pick up the 250.

Scratch that united is crazy expensive $2200 for a ticket, when others are $250  Huh Shocked

714  Other / Meta / Re: Are the mods getting paid from this forum? on: June 16, 2013, 03:51:52 AM

torac is donating a portion of proceeds from each sale back to the site, which creates a conflict of interest in acting against torac

The forum is non-profit. I don't get anything whether he donates or not.

Maybe I'm just blind, but I see a $850 payment to theymos. I'm not sure if there are multiple wallets, but I recall seeing $40,000 sitting in the donation wallet. Now $24,000.

This isn't a charity, its not up to anyone who gets to spend the funds in the bank on who and what, don't like it, make your own.

P.S. id be claiming not for profit too.
715  Other / Meta / Re: Are the mods getting paid from this forum? on: June 16, 2013, 03:37:36 AM
I've seen forums 10x this size, games, and websites modded by others for free, all volunteer.
Hell RuneScape, and World of Warcraft are un-paid forum mods, and game mods.

Should moderators be paid to click 1 button to mod retardation of the community? No.
Should I bitch because the owner of this site, takes HIS income, and 'donates' to some people who help him out? No.

Believe it or not, the donation, and ad revenue belongs to the owner of this site, he can do what he wants with his money, as long as we never have to pay to use, so the mods get paid. This isn't a community owned forum, with the revenue its bringing, its a business.
That's not true. This forum is not for profit, and theymos does not own it.

I never said theymos owns it, and not for profit? You keep telling yourself that my friend.

718  Economy / Economics / Re: Do lame & scam alt-coins leech BTC's fiat value? on: June 16, 2013, 01:48:42 AM
Yes.

1. Its taking away from day trading, you make a huge profit, and dump btc dropping the price.
2. The only ones who make the big bucks with alt coins are those who start mining first and selling their shitcoin for btc at $150/h dumping, and dropping the price.
3. shitcoin price is based off of btc alone, btc lowers, so does shit coin, btc lowers a lot, shitcoin traders dump back into btc, and then fiat, dropping the price.

The only benefit btc receives from shitcoin is you need btc to get into shitcoin. But when the shitcoin seller makes his trade, he can dump into fiat, dropping the price.

I see no benefits.
719  Other / Off-topic / Re: this guy should be notified about bitcoin on: June 07, 2013, 08:50:19 PM

720  Other / Off-topic / Re: Whoever Invented the Gasoline-Powered Leaf Blower Should Have His Butt Kicked on: June 07, 2013, 08:46:55 PM
It is the worst thing imaginable.

The apartment building I just moved from, and one of the reasons why... one was because of the leaf blower!

2 rotations with the lawn mower, 1 weed-eater a trimmer, and the fucking leaf blower on my window at 9-10 am.. seriously nothing better to do at 10am than wake everyone up 9 times <.<
