701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CrazyLoaf's HyperStake (HYP) Project Management Thread on: November 01, 2014, 03:24:26 AM
As some may or may not know, im from Spain.

It will be cool to develope the only skins that matter for this 40 million sheeps, um sorry, i meant citizens: a Real Madrid Wallet and a FCBarcelona wallet.
I know that some might raise brand property concerns, but taking in account that we are not selling anything, and the skin is free, i view it as a fan "mod". Maybe some expert on this legal mumbles can enlighten us more.

Some fans will download the wallet because of those mods. Besides, lots of people in Asia, Latin America and Africa are also wild supporters of this teams.

Also, if David or Presstab want to, i will be more than happy to help on localization into Spanish. If any of you two are reading this, just hit me a PM with the all the lines in excel or some google doc or whatever the format (im not a coder so anything gitthub sounds like martian to me, sorry) And i will be more than HYPpy to help.  Grin
Wallet, I like the idea. Even better, I like the idea to care about the customer and to create a theme for THEM, not for US. Now the question: who will create?

Localisation is something that I planned to add in the projects. Thanks! I will create HyperLocales - and we shall need a documentation (on the wikia!) on how to propose a new localisation.

The 750% is that forever or just the first years?

The 750% is forever unless there is a hard fork. If the difficulty rises to a certain point, people may have to wait months to stake, and with the max coin cap, the effective stake % rate could potentially fall.
Added as a FAQ entry. The 750% is that forever or just the first years?

This huge POS is in my opinion a new way to redistribute coins to larger communities.
Very good point. The distribution is always a problem with coins, any coins. What about the unborn, what about those who did not hear about HYP yet, what about those who arrived too late? HYP proposes an answer to this. On the same topic, see also, on the HDJ, The Virtues of Inflation - in short, no "premine" accusation with forever expanding coin, because you can hardly "miss the train" - you may just have to wait more than the early adopters, that's all.

I am glad to see eatthetree3 and locohammerhead here Smiley Crazyloaf, I see you as the cheerleader (but not like thundertoe!), empowering other, encouraging them to focus, get motivated, keeping on going...

eatthetree3, I anticipate to see your work Smiley

100*(986.3-1) = 98530% a year compounded
This is the number I remebered (something around 9xxxxx%)
705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HyperLoan experiment - round 2 on: October 30, 2014, 07:42:43 PM
We presentlye have 19 candidates for the HyperLoan #2. With the initial plan, it would have taken one year and a half just to accept all candidates. With the revised plan of once a week, it still takes more than 4 months. Not counting new candidates. This is not tenable.

So I decided to finance on my own pocket some more HyperLoans. So, next week, there will be TWO nominees.
706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HyperStake Development Journal (HDJ) on: October 30, 2014, 07:05:29 PM
I think what HYP is shown is that community activity is #1. Who'd have thunk it? Tongue
That community involvement only matters in the long run if there is also a good technical background. Doge only has the first one and, especially after Zer0sum's post on the ANN, I'd like to believe we have both Smiley
The max generation by definition is when each stake will be 1,000 HYP, thus hitting the ceiling each time. Right now we are about halfway to max generation.  I don't think we will hit max generation for a long time, because people will always be trying to size their blocks small enough to get rewards that are less than 1,000. I think what really is going to happen is that there will be a fight to stay under max generation, this will mean smaller blocks, and smaller blocks will mean higher difficulty.

So best thing is to keep an eye on difficulty for now.
Interesting. This would mean the network will become more and more secure with time. So the HyperStake network could be used for 2.0 uses (storing data like contracts, for instance). I like it.

Update: I edited the Wikia article on max generation.

Added this post to the HyperStake Development Journal:
Woohoo! Presstab FIRST post in the HDJ Smiley I'll reply there

Some of this may be incorrect, but here goes:
(great mathematical analysis of HyperStake)
Would you agree to release some stats from time to time? Either from your coins of from the network? I believe there is a lot of potential behind this. The mere fact that you can actively Market Make the coin is an accomplishment for HyperStake!
(I believe the compounded interest is much higher)

i didnt win
Didn't win what?
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: HyperLoan Logs on: October 30, 2014, 06:39:56 PM
As you can see the HyperLoan is staking nicley with a potential stake of 213.  Its only been staking for half the time of my small block and the potential return is already dwarfing it Smiley
Exactly the kind of comment I wished Smiley
709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HYP] HyperStake | 750% PoS | Advanced Coin Control Wallet | 11 Markets on: October 30, 2014, 01:08:24 PM
confused,..which is true ??
david said ''interest rate will lower drastically starting from December

presstab said ''Interest rate is not going to be lowered dramatically, it will remain the same forever. What will change is that difficulty will being to rise quicker than it is now

you are both the dev of HYP,.why different statements
presstab is right.
I can arange mining shares if there is interest.
For EnergyCoin I work together with GQM (Ryan Scott) on the NXTforum and he introduced EnergyGHZ. One share is now 35 NXT and payout weekly in ENRG. He is mining BTC. The ROI is 40 weeks now! Last payout was 100 ENRG per share or 1.1 NXT per share for NXTGHZ shares.
I never really understood assets. But if can explain us and that both presstab and me like the idea, you'll have our blessing. Are assets promises to get some money every period, like mining shares?

Hi all I'm looking for opinions please. I am thinking of starting a service up similar to HyperPool. I currently have a pi running 24/7 staking atm . my idea is to offer a 24/7 staking wallet for anyone to send their coins to to stake. This may sound similar to HyperPool but I'm aiming to attract bigger holders that are looking to stake 24/7. HyperPool is ment for small time holders which it should be kept at.

I will charge a 5% fee which will all be staked and go towards a donation address which will be used for giveaways mainly on the HYP sub Reddit.

I will set up another thread and build on this if people like thenidea . in essence I am creating a HyperPool aimed for bigger holders looking to make the most out of their HYP and stake 24/7.

Feel free to comment if you like the idea or have any suggestions.
This is good to have several pools with several goals. Let me quote myself on IRC

Quote
<davidlatapie> Other pool may be more short-minded, with 100% of stake going back to miner, 98% to miner and 2% in the pool owners' pocket... You should actually mention this other models, to encourage people to try them out - diversity is key.

And yes, your pool shall state the difference with Kushed's HyperPool (and Kushed shall do the same regarding yours). Now the big question: how will you name the pool? Cheesy
710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: HyperLoan Logs on: October 30, 2014, 12:53:15 PM
So, jaybeeuk, no news from you? You are supposed to give some news about how you are doing, from time to time. Even just listing your potential stake is something!
711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CrazyLoaf's HyperStake (HYP) Project Management Thread on: October 30, 2014, 03:26:52 AM
Reminder of the three-pronged strategy, dixit CrazyLoad:

(1) Social/tipping/sharing asset -Reddit tipbots and the like
(2) Gaming asset - either marketed as a way to save a certain principal to then later gamble with the stake, or within games/gambling itself
(3) Foreign exchange asset - target Bter, Btc38, Btc-e, etc.; localization of marketing in foreign countries

Reminder of how to succeed in an enterprise, dixit me:

(1) Gather a team
(2) Focus on what really matters
(3) Keep on going

Now CrazyLoaf needs a team. Who wants in?
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HYP] HyperStake | 750% PoS | Advanced Coin Control Wallet | 11 Markets on: October 30, 2014, 03:24:04 AM
This is a crazy idea but if HYP becomes crazy popular POS "ASICS" could become a thing... I imagine tiny USB sticks or machines that connect to the internet and just stake. Basically a RASP pi, but would have to be plug and play, cheap and similar power efficiency.

Another crazy idea is if there were "HYP Shares" People invested just BTC and you would use it to buy HYP. 5% profit every 15 days or so, and remaining 15% stake could be given to community wallet. Inspired by an idea while back that I can't recall...

Also a multipool is huge... That should be our next goal IMO.

you reminded me of something..i have NO idea if this is possible im not a programmer...i have a magic jack ...just plug an Ethernet cable into it and into the router and off u go... an asic like that would be awesome...maybe make it accessible via the I.P address on your local network...THAT would be awesome...that even uses less then a raspi (i think) its equal to charging an iphone Smiley sure beats the 80 watt PSU in my desktop im using for staking
Remember that the interest rate will lower drastically starting from December. So, don't advertise hard numbers for time to stake. Otherwise, very good. You should team up with waxo - he is on HYPberry, but HYPstick (or HYPkey) would be a nice addition.
(edit: corrected after presstab replied)

I was actually considering a CrazyLoaf Project Management thread. But with most of this stuff, developers, designers, and marketers are needed. I will go ahead and make it I think Wink
Excellent CrazyLoaf! This is exactly what we need!
714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HYP] HyperStake | 750% PoS | Advanced Coin Control Wallet | 11 Markets on: October 30, 2014, 02:07:33 AM
Presstab, I heard something about max coins per day being 960k??? Is that correct? So that is how inflation will be controlled? Also how/where can I find this information of how many coins per day? Thanks as always!!

Max stakereward = 1000 HYP / block
1 block every 90 seconds
960 blocks in 86400 seconds or 24 hours.
960 × 1000 = 960.000 HYP max/day

Exactly.

And this one: http://hyperstake.wikia.com/wiki/Max_generation
Plus, the two of them belong to the category inflation control: http://hyperstake.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Inflation_control
And on the matter of the consequences of max generation: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=784363.msg9367805#msg9367805
What we desperately need is a multipool, I would definitely buy a small ASIC or run my GPUs to get some HYP. This allows just another way to get into HYP while also creating volume and liquidity in the exchanges. This can be done through just asking multipools to get HYP as a payout option or the community to make one.  To a lesser extent we could do something like Blackcoins black shield (whatever it's called) where buy walls are put up to help control at least a little bit of the volatility...
Desperately is strong word. But yes, this is interesting and should be part of the HyperShield initiative. I proposed it months ago and waxo and me talked about it one week ago again - and we will probably consider how to do during "HYPcon Paris", in at the end of November. By the way, any one around Paris by this time is welcomed to join
I'd also like to bring my 3 prong approach up again:

(1) Social/tipping/sharing asset -Reddit tipbots and the like
(2) Gaming asset - either marketed as a way to save a certain principal to then later gamble with the stake, or within games/gambling itself
(3) Foreign exchange asset - target Bter, Btc38, Btc-e, etc.; localization of marketing in foreign countries
It is good too. I'd say our main issue now is scalability. I predicted it but I failed to work diligently enough on t. I take full responsability on that.

On the bright side, I'm glad I encouraged Kushed to take maximum initative on HyperPool because now it seem to not need me at all. So I'll do the same here: I need someone to overseer the Three-pronged approach. Crazy, you told me you don't want to be that person so we need someone else and that cannot be me or presstab. So who's willing to devote some time? You won't do everything, you will gather a team, focus on what really maters and keep on going.

If you are uncertain you can do it, contact me and and we'll see.
715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HYP] HyperStake | 750% PoS | Advanced Coin Control Wallet | 11 Markets on: October 30, 2014, 01:55:35 AM
         1) by using the richlist select an amount of hype . for example those folks holding lets say, 75k or more for longer then a certain number of days gets a bonus...for instance..lets say i owned (i do not actually but for the sake of the statement) 75 k hype...ive had it in my wallet for 90+ days i could get some sort of a bonus...say maybe 1k "bonus HYP" or you could use a percentage like anyone owning over 75k+ HYP on a certain addres for continuous 90 days would receive this bonus...and then a "silver hypster" could maybe be someone who is holding 50-74,999.99 and they could get a bonus as well..and then for bronze anyone who holds 25k-49,999.99k hyp gets a bonus....and then you could always double the bonus if the balances retain the value for a consecutive 180 days...etc... this could be modified in MANY ways (the rewards, the levels, the amounts, etc)
just a thought,it would encourage people to hold the coin long term and encourage even more for people to hold on to there staking coins

       2) im not sure if this exists ....if it does, then disregard this one.  create a website or branch it off a website , and sell merchandise ..you might say...that costs to much..well no, not really. you could just have them made as you sell them... theres tons of sites that do this and also there are local places here that do it. id buy a HYP coffee mug or hat or shirt and i wouldnt mind waiting a few days to have it "process" (this would be the time it would take for you to get it from the manufacturer) or you could always have it made and keep it on hand, either way i think itd be good.. you have a very strong community and im sure (specially with the pictures of the HYP girls) alot of guys on here would buy stuff from you

       3) this branches off of number 2. you could take the profits from the merchandise and put it into contests and development or anything else you wanted to do...or invest it in HYP loan and maybe rather then 4k move it up to 6k or 8k . this would encourage people to contribute to get the loan

      4.  again, this may already exist.  create a video (longer then 3-5 minutes ) explaining HYP and its benefits to the community and what it can offer, id assume presstab would be the guy to do this...but any "sr. member" whose been in hyp for a while (preferably from the beginning). and put it anywhere you can...forums, trollboxes, facebook, twitter ...ANYWHERE!!! itd be good to get the word out there

these are just the finalized ideas , let me know what you think guys i have a few more ideas but i need to refine them a bit but thats what i have so far..any feedback would be great, thanks!!
One would discourage volume, I'm afraid. I prefer Stake Hunter's pledge (or Latapie Pledge): sell 25% or your stake for BTC (or for XMR). Plus telling between bought coins and stacked coins is... difficult at best.

Two is definitely something we consider, although it requires manpower to operate it - and probably outsourcing most of it (which is not an issue, as long as it is done well).

Three is good

Four we are discussing it and we'll probably have a meeting in Paris with waxo and hegemoon (sorry press, SLC another time, promised) in late November/early December.

Presstab would it be possible to add a donation wallet I'm setting up for reddit giveaways onto the main post.
Of course, just let me know the address and I will throw it up.
Do we need another donation address? Isn't the Community wallet enough? I'm OK if it serves a particular purpose but it not, let's just mix them all.
Some time ago, I told about the Latapie pledge: selling 25% of my stakes for for Monero (on the XMR/HYP) market. Still valid.

Some more things I'd like to share with you. I seldom buy at at sell price. Instead, I place buy orders at a round number. My previous one was at 0.02 XMR and it got eaten (pre DDOS, the buy price was at 0.013 XMR, I don't remember for BTC)

As for the block, a rich man's problem is to not have block competing with other too much. So, presstab's latest code introduced first on IRC won't work much for me, because I will have too mich block at the same blocksize at the same moment. 21000/7 would give me 7 blocks at 3000. Generated at the same moment with the same weight, they run the risk of making me hit the subsidy wall. So I stick with my manual (and time-consuming) strategy: 1 block at 3300, 1 at 3600, 1 at 3900. Experience proved me that I have too much block for 4000. Of course the fact that I had to reset my blocks because of my own stupidity some weeks influence my calculation and I should see how it goes in one month. But better safe than sorry, I will continue using this 3300/600/3900/3300 scheme.
716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HYP] HyperStake | 750% PoS | Advanced Coin Control Wallet | 11 Markets on: October 29, 2014, 05:43:33 PM
I honestly don't care what the price is. I care more of what the coin brings, the work the devs do, the IRC community, etc. HYP has proven itself to be a leader and shall remain so!
This.

Update: congrats presstab. I know how it fells Smiley Of course, I will have several request on how to improve it later, but for the moment savour the victory!

Moneritos makes me hungry. Sounds like biscuits to me  Grin
It is perfect for a millionth of a monero, thanks to the crypto kingdom game for expanding this term.
It actually should be moneretos in Esperanto. I believe this is a small enough change to be implementatable.
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HYP] HyperStake | 750% PoS | Advanced Coin Control Wallet | 11 Markets on: October 29, 2014, 03:30:19 PM
crash in all exchange
Crash is ALWAYS on all exchanges, because arbitrage. I personally consider arbitrage as a good thing - arbitrageurs are doing something that decentralized networks cannot naturally do, so it removes one argument to centralisation aficionados. Arbitrageurs are caretakers.

Also, I really don't understand people making public their complaints about the price. Do you think writing it down would actually have an impact? I suppose this is catharsis, feeling better by writing it down, even if this just break the morale without any advantages.

Methink I'm becoming a rationalist...
719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: October 29, 2014, 01:28:31 PM
It's read as written, Moneroj. I don't know where you get that rosh or roy. It's ROJ.
Not, it's roy.
"As written" means nothing and is ethnocentric. How do you pronounce the Slovene first name Jana? As written? Well, for Slovene, "as written" is "yana", whilst for English natives, "as written" is "jana". Who is right? The Slovenes, since this is a Slovene first name.

Same here. Moneroj is Esperanto, so the Esperanto pronunciation applies, not the English ones.

And it is "moneroy" (source).
720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HYP] HyperStake | 750% PoS | Advanced Coin Control Wallet | 11 Markets on: October 29, 2014, 12:39:09 PM
I wrote an article on the HDJ about an important matter that will happen in December: max_generation kicking in.

How will this affect the price, the volume, the network security, the trolling, the confidence? I believe it is important that we anticipate this as soon as possible.

Max generation and its consequences

Soon (Zer0Sum said 6th of December), the second inflation control mechanism, max generation, will kick in. Max generation ensures that no more than 960 000 coins are generated each day. So, except if the amount of stackers goes down a lot, the days of 750% APR will be gone and HYP will have a more traditionnal 200% (then 100%, 50%, 33% after fourth year...)

Which consequences for the coin? What follows is pure speculation from me:
  • Temporary price increase as we approach the "block halving" (which is technically not a block halving). Then dump just after then correction to a more regular price, which might be lower or higher than the current price - I do not know how block halving translates for other coins' economies.
  • Accusations of fastmine
  • Less interest for what is suddenly "just another TRK/CAP" - This means that we then must communicate on everything else than high interest rate, like HyperPool (the most important), HyperLoan, advanced coin control, other features we will have...
  • A stop at the increase of difficulty, since staking is not that interesting anymore - except if the price rises
  • Others?

And you, how do you see the effects of max generation?
