And the hand that pissed me the most, AK vs 82 (Hhampuz). He gets 8 off the flop and i get an Ace. We both check on the flop, Hhampuz raises on the turn and i call (didn't want to scare him so i didn't re-raise). And here comes the river - 2, i was extremely confident and committed at that point decided to re-raised only to lose 90% of my stack.

Hhampuz is master of calling bad hands and winning them. Not very long ago he beaten me with 510o:

GG's all! Tonight was a fun tourny  Grin

Don't feed me this bullshit, lol! Who goes against all-in with 5-10 offsuit? Really! High card: 10, not same suited, difference of more than 4 between cards. No chance of straight or flush with both hole cards, awful chance of pair and that too a weak pair. Even newbie player won't play this hand. But you went against me with these cards and surprisingly won!! I felt like killing you at the moment. Tell to the Goddess of Luck who was on your side yesterday and dealt 5 among community cards that next time her charm won't work.

Earlier I thought that was rubbish play but as I am learning poker in details, his strategy is pretty cool actually. He already had big stack both in my case as well as yours. By risking few chips, he had opportunity to disqualify me and making you down to 10% chips.

I forgot about series yesterday and now I see I don't have chance to qualify for championship. Never mind, I wasn't playing for championship after all. I will join tonight if free. Good luck to all those who are near to qualify. Smiley

702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most valuable token on the ETH blockchain? on: May 30, 2020, 05:22:42 PM
USDT is not valuable.
Of course USDT is valuable.

If I say that I will give you 1 million USDT now. Do you want it or do you think it is not valuable?

Thinks are simpler than they look like Wink

Money doesn't work that way. There are two ways you can make something valuable. Either increase the intrinsic value or peg the value to something else.

Many cryptocurrencies like Chainlink and ETH have gained intrinsic value over time. Such cryptocurrencies have utility so people are ready to pay money in order to possess these and spend them for particular purpose (like in case ETH, to create smart contracts). The amount of money people are ready to pay for them depends upon how useful and wanted these are in particular ecosystem. The utility is translated into intrinsic value which when added with speculative value gives the market price of these cryptocurrencies.

But in case of latter, i.e. pegged money, there is no direct utility involved. Suppose I create two Ethereum tokens and name them WebbyCoin (WBC) and WebbyStabCoin (WBSC). I keep the supply equals to 10 million for both of them. Now I try paying you 5 million units of WebbyCoin  for a freelancing work, would you accept it? No, right? Then I keep $10 million in my bank account, make the bank account public and tell everyone that these $10 millions represent the value of my WebbyStabCoin. IF you possess WBSC, you actually have share in this $10M. Now, you will gladly accept payment in WBSC. But it doesn't mean WBSC has any value, the value is just representation of $10M that I kept in bank account. If I withdraw money from bank, WBSC's value will instantly become zero.
703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: May 30, 2020, 03:19:41 PM
...it's very unlikely that coinmarketcap adds GOLD marketplace.

We will see, I think that the Digital Gold team is well aware of the requirements and maybe they will add/change what is needed to be able to fulfill them.

I don't think listing Gold Marketplace on CMC matters at all.

First of all, after Binance acquisition, credibility of CMC as an unbiased source has fallen very much (not soon enough I expect we will see advertisement charges on CMC in BNB Cheesy).

Secondly, Gold Marketplace provides instant purchase/redemption of GOLD Token without any catch. Such on-site instant liquidity option already makes Gold Storage a reliable source to invest in gold. I don't think we need enhanced CMC volume to show the project's credibility.
704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most valuable token on the ETH blockchain? on: May 30, 2020, 02:24:43 PM
You can find all tokens here

https://coinmarketcap.com/tokens/

The idea of "most valuable" usually is considering total capitalization   .
So the first would be USDT then chainlink.

USDT is not valuable. The only reason why USDT has value equivalent $1 is because company claims to have equivalent cash reserves. On its own, USDT has zero value just like fiat currency. USDT is not real money, it's just crypto representation of fiat money.

Chainlink is undoubtedly the best implementation of ETH ecosystem and that's why the most valuable ETH token at the moment.

And all Public Keys start with 1, I feel there is some kind of conspiracy.
/end of sarcasm

I guess you meant addresses ?
Note that a public key is not the same as an address. The public key is being hashed to retrieve the address (sha256 and ripemd160 + checksum).

@OP:
Regardless of the initial statement:
Do not use any website to create a paper wallet. Not even after downloading and running it offline.
The usability is not worth the risk.
Why you dont recommend it?

Trails!

It is very easy for websites to log your generated keys with Javacript if you are connected to internet. Moreover, even if you download the webpage and try generating paper wallet in offline mode, there are still many risks. Website may keep the trail of your address in browser and when you are once again connected to internet, such trails may be extracted via cross-website cookies or other methods. One more risk is of wireless printer. Suppose you generated paper wallet in offline mode and printed it via wireless printer. In such case, printer's records will have trail of your paper wallet and it is easy to retrieve that by hacking your printer or other connected devices with printer can also see your printed data.

This information is as per my knowledge. Bob123 may have other reasons to discourage using websites for wallet generation.

Some fresh news from Italy.
Arthur is almost a NONO thing now, Barca still interested in Pjanic, Juventus wants 50m or an equivalent player.

I don't know who suggested Arthur's swap for Pjanic, it's funny TBH. Although their current market values are close but Pjanic's value will decline in coming years because he's already 30. But Arthur on the other hand is just 23 and not to forget that he is good fit for Barca DNA. I love that guy, he is my third favorite player just next to Messi and KDB. The way he moves ball in the midfield is spectacular, it's almost impossible to take the ball off his feet. The only issue with him currently is that he moves ball sideways too often but with time I think he can make those strategic Xavi type passes in the box too. If he keep playing good, he may become Barca legend in coming years. It would to funny to lose him for some 30 years old basic midfielder.

Inter wants 111m€, not 1 € less for Lautaro Martinez.

It may sound bizarre but I no longer want Lautaro's arrival to Camp Nou. Braithwaite really stole the show with his cameo in last few La Liga matches. I didn't expect him to have such pace and precision but he was wonderful. The way he sprint with ball provides much needed pace in Barca forward line. Now Suarez will be fit too so if Suarez and Braithwaite can together give good 90 minutes in front then who needs Martinez. Not to forget Trincao coming next season too. Kid is astounding player, I expect him to perform much better than Dembele.

Since you have created this thread, let me add some more details so that the matter becomes entirely clear to you. WIF or Wallet Import Format of Private Key either starts with '5' or 'K/L' depending upon how you encoded it using Base58. WIF Compressed starts with 'K/L' while WIF starts with '5'. You may be assuming that WIF Compressed is shorter than the WIF but no that's wrong. Also, if anyone tells you the term 'compressed private key', there is no meaning of such term. You can't compress Private Key. Actually, WIF Compressed is one byte longer than the WIF. It is known as 'WIF Compressed' because when you paste key in any wallet to import Bitcoin addresses, it signifies that the wallet should import Bitcoin Address generated from compressed public key associated with that Private Key.
708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poll about lottery game on: May 28, 2020, 02:33:55 PM
The thing is we are building a platform with no house edge, the winner will be decided by the players itself. we just charge a transaction fee for being a middle man

Now this is going somewhere interesting. If you don't mind, would you like to share more details about your platform like what the format of P2P lottery and how players will pick winners among themselves?

I think that the 33.3% is a generous win ratio and I think many players may be fascinated by such a high chance percentage in a lottery game. While you may start out small as you say but based on the participation of people it may become a hit and it may turn into a big lottery.Of course you will have to adapt to changes if this happen.

But it also means only 3 players will play per game. I don't call something lottery where I can only win 3x of the ticket amount. It will be more or less gambling and there are many other games with much more interesting formats like sports bet, multiplayer dice, crash game, etc to win such odds. People buy lottery tickets to hit big jackpots. Buying ticket to win 3 times won't be fun as a lottery.

The higher the odds, the lower the winning chance. So it is somehow balanced. You will either go for a bigger prize or a higher probability of winning. That's fair.

Also, the higher the winning chance, the more expensive the ticket I assume. So the players will be torn between just taking the chance and pay for a cheaper ticket or trying to really make some money and pay for a more expensive one.

Umm! I don't see much clarity in your suggestion. It would make the game unnecessarily complicated. There cannot be multi-rates to enter same lottery. Better and easier way is to allow users to buy as many tickets as they want. Higher the number of tickets, higher the probability to win and higher the cost. Simple!
709  Local / India / Re: RBI says no curbs in providing bank accounts to crypto traders on: May 28, 2020, 02:04:59 PM
Answer from RBI: As on date no such prohibition exist.
The word "no such prohibition exists" is not enough, this does not mean that you are allowed to trade, especially if we talk about big investments, exchange platforms, or activities related to cryptos.

No, this is wrong statement. Citizens in India are now allowed to do any kind of legal transactions related to cryptocurrencies through their bank account, no matter private or business transactions, irrespective of size of transaction. Every Indian citizen is one hundred percent allowed to trade cryptocurrencies. There is no prohibition imposed on banks by either RBI or government as of now.

In fact, many banks have complained that they have not been notified about lifting the ban on cryptocurrencies:

It is true that RBI didn't issue any public announcement after the Supreme Court judgement so there's a chance that few bankers were still unclear about legality. I haven't checked the recent announcements so I am unsure if RBI have made any announcement on the matter or not but anyhow banks are now liable to provide banking services to crypto users. They can't deny them from banking services on any ground provided users are indulged in legal business/trading.

Quote
the RBI replied that these questions did not qualify as “information” under section 2(f) of the RTI act. RBI did not respond to ETs query.

Also, some platforms contacted the banks, but they refused to provide banking services to them because of the lack of clarity by the regulator.

Read more ---> https://azcoinnews.com/india-crypto-exchanges-are-seeking-clarity-on-their-taxation-obligations-from-rbi.html

The article you cited was written on 4th of May and RBI answered Unocoin Co-founder's request dated 22nd April on 25th May. So it usually takes around a month for public departments to answer people's question. Hence, every requester will get the answer sooner or later. Also RTI Act allows respondent to refrain from answering certain questions if the request doesn't fall under the definition of 'information' as per RTI Act. The question asked by ET was strategic and responding such question would have been speculative.
710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman & Sachs: Bitcoin: Currency or Asset Class? on: May 28, 2020, 12:37:48 PM
Quote from: Goldman Sachs
We believe that a security whose appreciation is primarily dependent on whether someone else is willing to pay a higher price for it is not a suitable investment for our clients.

What Goldman Sachs trying to be here, an investment noob? Ain't the appreciation of every asset is dependent upon a buyer who is willing to pay higher amount to buy it from the current holder? And as far as word 'primarily' is concerned, I doubt that the people arbitrarily paying such huge price for every unit of Bitcoin. The price of Bitcoin rose hugely over years due to the underlying technology. Why not the other cryptocurrencies are as expensive as Bitcoin? Simple because their blockchain is not as invincible as Bitcoin's. The time, efforts and cost needed to hack the Bitcoin network should be considered while doing Bitcoin's valuation. Aren't we counting that here, Goldy? Bitcoin is much more than a speculative investment.

  • DIGITAL GOLD ब्लॉकचेन पर आधारित है। ब्लॉकचेन सुरक्षा इस समय की सबसे सुरक्षित कही जा सकती है।
  • DIGITAL GOLD

713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taxes on Bitcoins: Unreasonable or essential? on: May 27, 2020, 08:47:10 AM
It's not a government owned platform. One might be aware of the fact that the government is tracking down people who owns Bitcoins. Taxes on cryptocurrencies are always a matter of debate , in a country like India 30-20% of the Tax is supposed to be paid by the handler who is using the cryptocurrencies like Bitcoins and earning more than a fixed number.

20-30% is not at all a reasonable tax price.

Since, you gave the example of India so I would like to clear few things:

Number 1, no tax on holding or buying Bitcoin is levied in India. The tax is only levied when you sell Bitcoins for Indian Rupees (i.e. local currency of India) and have either made profit (if bought Bitcoins) or made income (if received Bitcoins as payment).

Number 2, 20-30% taxes aren't unique to Bitcoin. These rates are common for all types of incomes in India. Also 30% is only levied on the income over 1M INR. If your earnings are lower than 1M (no matter if the source of income is Bitcoin or other), you have to pay taxes at lower rates.

Number 3, There are no laws related to Bitcoin and its taxable treatment in India so far.

For complete details, I would suggest to have a look on this thread of mine: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5206607.0

Odds are pretty lucrative on Dortmund (15/4). Seems like bookies don't see any home advantage in the absence of fans, lol. Cheesy Well, I think match will be closer than what bookies are predicting. If Sancho is fit and can play full minutes then it can even go draw (17/4 odds, ehh). I am going for a draw, let's see how the rivalry between Haaland and Lewa goes. Can they become Messi-Ronaldo of Bundesliga? (maybe Lewa is too old for this rivalry to last long). Cheesy
715  Economy / Economics / Re: Can microeconomics help macroeconomics after the pandemic on: May 26, 2020, 01:45:49 PM
Finally, imo microeconomics can speed up the economic recovery process of many countries, if the government can support this small scale businesses more, they will grow faster and can provide more employment, money cash inflow and more individuals will be encouraged to start up small businesses, and with all this the economy will be much better. With foreign trades, import and export and small scale enterprises/businesses booming all at once, national economy will be stronger and can withstand recession, especially in the future.

It's true that sole concentration on macro economics tools like aggregated demand, agg. supply, national productivity, money, etc helps growing economy of the country however, in free economy, growth in national income may not means that per capita income (standard of living) is also improving. Hence, you are right in saying that government should plan strategy from the minimum of minimum level to ensure prosperity of every individual. In India, government has decided to provide boost in the economy by providing guarantee-free easy loans to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. This is good step in my opinion because when such small units of production prosper, there is multi-dimensional benefits like such units provide jobs to large number of workers and employees hence reducing unemployment, such units provide cheaper goods as compared to foreign goods, natural resources can be used in local production hence reducing imports. On whole, boost to local business is only way to revive economy especially in developing countries because giving freebies to general public won't last long.
716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoins are lost everyday? on: May 25, 2020, 06:00:06 AM
How do you calculate these numbers? Are these numbers based on some random research made by some so-called intellectuals? We have just seen 4-5 days ago that coins from over 10 years old address are moved. It is wrong to assume that if address remains dormant for long then bitcoin associated with such address is lost. There are many possibilities, such addresses can be cold storage, long term investment, address belonging to HODL maniac, safe investment for kids or future. Maybe some of the supply may have lost in early days of bitcoin but I don't believe that we are losing 360K Bitcoins/year in recent years.

Sorry but I can't fully get what you are trying to imply.
By saying lost in bitcoin means the owner forget his account and that's it, and why is it related to token burning?
Please expound.

He is just trying to show analogy between two scenarios. He's comparing lost bitcoins with the concept of token burning and implying that lost bitcoins make Bitcoin more valuable similar to token burning which makes tokens more valuable.

webtricks lucky bastard took my hand of AA with a three of a kind. He had 66 and in the flop he got another 6.
Then he got another three of a kind against Globb0 I guess.

That was a classic mistake you made there. You got extra involved with AA. I didn't go all-in on flop even though I hit full house with JJ666 but you matched the bet which is acceptable. But when I went all-in on turn, you should have taken good 30-40 seconds to think about possibility. It was easy to guess that I may he holding full house.

Nevertheless, still lots of tournament to be played. You made good come back, let's see how it goes.
718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker talk - Specifically Hold'em - Hands and or strategy on: May 23, 2020, 03:04:28 PM
Right let's end this drama now 😀

Honestly speaking, on the table I did not have any of these in mind:
2222
AAA
KKK (it was a K in the river by the way)
QQQ
JJJ
Or even a flash on hearts

In the flop I had 2 pairs and I doubled and in the turn when he chipped 300 I was happy to go ALL-IN without thinking much about those possibilities. I mean who would. He matched it and then card was shown and the river card was dealt.

I never had a 2nd thought of losing this hand from the flop round.

Aah! Now I see where it ended. I was expecting this to be some Super High Roller Bowl level clash but it turns out to be one amateur getting extra-adrenaline flow after seeing Jack pockets on SwC. If I am in that guy's place, I wouldn't raised pot on flop, makes no sense to me. Even if he's trying to bluff, EV value of that hand wasn't enough to raise that much stake. Maybe a small bet or check was enough to test you out. Turn was last nail on the coffin, if I saw you raising enough of turn, I would have straight away folded that hand.

O man! I almost made up my mind that I won't play poker any more but you have ignited the heat within me once again, lol.  I think I should go on and deposit some funds on SwC and meet you homies on table after 2 hours.
719  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to live without banks? on: May 23, 2020, 02:46:25 PM
With the world's economy collapsing, people are looking for alternative safe-haven assets to use in times of turmoil. Interest in crypto has sparked a lot ever since the stock market went on a decline. If people decide to use crypto, precious metals, and physical cash, will it be possible to live a normal life without a bank?

There are still people using credit/debit cards, but that may change soon as Fiat becomes hyper-inflated.

What are your thoughts? Huh

It is wrong to assume that inflation makes fiat currency useless. Well, it may make one unit of fiat worth less than what it used to before, but still fiat will be widely used for valuing every goods or service which keeps currency relevant.

Only hyper-inflation makes currency irrelevant because general public lose the trust in the currency and no longer want to use that currency for the valuation of goods and services. But again, hyper-inflation is not global phenomena. You can't say every currency becomes hyper-inflated at the same time. It is not possible at all. Hyper-inflation is the comparative phenomena when economic situation in one country becomes excessively worse as compared to other nations. Then people in that country move on to foreign currencies rather than using local currency.

On whole, I don't see your argument strong enough to believe that fiat currency (as well as banks) going out of play any time soon.

PS: Money is not investment. Even if per unit value of fiat currency is decreasing and stock market is falling, provided if local currency is not experiencing excessive inflation, people will continue their faith in currency.
720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker talk - Specifically Hold'em - Hands and or strategy on: May 22, 2020, 09:48:29 PM
Let me make up my final mind. Now thinking from the other guy's head. You said he was the one who raised to pot amount on flop. Considering only 2 10 and Q were dealt, he surely making pair from the flop cards. So he's either holding 2 or 10 or Q. If a player is holding QQ, 9 out of 10 times, player raises in preflop. So I am ruling out the possibility of QQ here. My guess is he's holding 22. River card was another 2. You lost QQTTT against 2222.
