7362  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-17] Two Bitcoin Mining Companies Disappear From Sweden Owing $1.5M on: November 19, 2018, 01:55:40 AM
I'm surprised there hasn't been more of this really.

In the UK you get gangs renting houses, filling them with weed growing and then disappearing with their haul before the police and bills arrive. Perhaps we'll get more rogue miners milking electricity companies in the future.

'Free' electricity is a huge incentive.

I reckon setting up a scam bitcoin mining farm would not be worth the risk similar to those UK gangs renting houses and leaving. The operators have to apply for business permits, pass all the legal documents, set up the mining farm and look for a cheap electricity supplier overseas.

It is possible that they started legitimately.
7363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How does the team prevent the price of the tokens from falling? on: November 19, 2018, 01:36:26 AM
@batuhantstknn. Most of those teams will not or cannot prevent it. As it happens, most of those teams cause their tokens to fall by selling a percentage of them in the market where the community is left to buy most of it and baghold them.

That sounds very bad but many ICOs did it.
7364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: November 19, 2018, 01:23:45 AM
Not really a bottom for AEON. A month ago price was 7200 at now is 10%  more.   Same with Monero 14 August price was 0.0132 btc. 20% lower as today.   What is lowest  considering 2018 is value of Bitcoin.

Hehe agreed. But only because we know that there might be a certain whale who wants to dump some coins again.

I hope next time, the whale would be more patient and avoid selling on market price. Aeon does not have enough bids to cover his or her dumps in Bittrex.
7365  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-17] Two Bitcoin Mining Companies Disappear From Sweden Owing $1.5M on: November 18, 2018, 02:22:06 AM
@Thekool1s. It certainly is the bear market that are causing some miners to close down and run. I am not defending the them, however mining's breakeven price cost is higher than bitcoin's trading price and it might become either another cause of worry or FUD hehehe.

7366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: November 18, 2018, 01:58:28 AM
@boomboombazookajeff. That is a very easy wager to make because every cryptocoin is presently beginning to settle on their own bottoms hehehe.

However, we might not be out of it yet. A certain someone might decide to continue dumping hehe.

7367  Economy / Speculation / Tom Lee lowered his prediction to $15k hehehe on: November 18, 2018, 01:41:43 AM
Is this as bearish as can Tom Lee go? $15k might also be too bullish hehehe.

@miners. What is the real breakeven price in mining costs compared to the trading price per bitcoin? I reckon the real war of the miners will occur in bitcoin and Bitmain might begin pushing smaller miners out.

In any case, I also predict that the trading price below mining breakeven price articles will be the new source of FUD.

Wall Street's best-known cryptocurrency bull just cut his bitcoin price target nearly in half.

Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat Global Advisors, lowered his year-end target to $15,000 from $25,000 — still well above where the cryptocurrency was trading on Friday.

A key driver was bitcoin's "break-even" point, the level at which mining costs match the trading price. That level is down to $7,000 from an earlier estimate of $8,000 for the S9 mining machine by Bitmain, according to Fundstrat's data science team. Based on that, Lee estimates that fair value for bitcoin would be roughly 2.2 times the new $7,000 break-even price.

Bitcoin is trading well below that, near $5,539 on Friday, according to data from CoinDesk. This week, the majority of major cryptocurrencies saw double-digit downward swings, and bitcoin hit its lowest level of the year.

But Lee is betting on a recovery. He told clients in a note Friday that even in the depths of a previous bitcoin bear market between 2013 and 2015, it "never sustained a move below breakeven."

7368  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-15] Bitcoin Mining Firm Canaan Slashes IPO Target and May Not Go Public on: November 18, 2018, 01:09:55 AM
Agreed. However many of them were also scams. I use the word scam in this example, similar to the way the altcoin community uses it for ICOs hehehe. A project that has no chance to succeed because of unreachable promises made by a development team that did not have the skills.
7369  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Nitrogensports froze my account on: November 17, 2018, 12:55:06 AM
@Hotsauce61488. Post screenshots of your account, including the amount of your big sized bankroll if possible, and provide everyone with the rest of the information of your frozen account as proof if you want to share this to get the attention of the community.

7370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2018-09-27: update to 0.12.6.0+ ASAP] on: November 17, 2018, 12:46:57 AM
I don't personally see the need to switch algo versions on Aeon right now. There is minimal hash rate as it is and the hash rate here is fairly spread out for the most part. I think if we start seeing 20-30mh we could start looking at a fork for algo version change if the hash is centralized and pools see asic style connections.

That was not the question. The question was do we keep copying what Monero does no matter what without having our own identity? Is Aeon the backup plan in case Monero fails?

Also, staying in the original algorithm before the switch would have helped us attain more hashrate.
7371  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-15] Bitcoin’s Breakdown Will Take ‘Weeks, If Not Months’ to Rebound on: November 17, 2018, 12:39:21 AM
Fundstrat. The same global company of financial advisors that has Tom Lee. The Tom Lee who predicted and expressed with all his heart that bitcoin will be on $20k - $25k by December. Now, again they are telling us what they predict hehehe.

I reckon a prediction market like Augur might be a more accurate tool than those analysts.
7372  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-13]Bitmain Co-Founder Jihan Wu Loses Executive Power in Board Reshuffle on: November 17, 2018, 12:24:48 AM
@Carlton Banks. Yes, a Chinese has to be a member of the communist party of China to own a large company, however I reckon the party must have given their members some autonomy to run their own companies.
7373  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-15] Bitcoin Mining Firm Canaan Slashes IPO Target and May Not Go Public on: November 17, 2018, 12:11:53 AM
@squatter. Agreed, however there are IPOs created to scam some people. Remember the technology bubble? There were many internet startups that did not have positive earnings that were approved in filing for IPOs. Most of those IPOs are similar in the cryptospace's ICOs. They are all promises but no product.
7374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Floyd Mayweather set for New Year's Eve fight in Japan on: November 16, 2018, 02:09:08 AM
@sunsilk. It will not be a total show for all. It is a scam. Floyd had already confirmed that the fight is on under the rules of boxing and they will be in the ring for only 9 minutes.

It is only an exhibition for Japanese fans who have nothing to do on new year's eve hehehe.
7375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night 139: Korean Zombie vs Rodriquez Info and Prediction Thread on: November 16, 2018, 01:48:47 AM
@Hydrogen. I reckon Conor will never accept any proposals from the UFC except if it was a rematch versus Khabib. It will depend on how their suspensions will be long, however.

Dana's UFC lightweight storyboard has become a mess hehehe.
7376  Economy / Speculation / Re: Novogratz making predictions again hehehe on: November 16, 2018, 01:37:07 AM
Mike Novogratz has to be chasing the world record for the most predictions changed in 1 year hehehe. But that record would not be very hard to do if he tries to make predictions on a volatile market such as bitcoin.

But what does he know? He mentioned institutional investors, were there none during the bullrun of 2017?

Novogratz is a rich man, you are not. Laugh if you like, but, you are far more of a joke than he is.

You are right. I am no one but a dirty forum cave troll. However, I cannot wait for that rich man to change his prediction again after black wednesday and share it in the forum so my fellow forum cave trolls will laugh at him again heheheee.
7377  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-13]Bitmain Co-Founder Jihan Wu Loses Executive Power in Board Reshuffle on: November 16, 2018, 01:23:30 AM
@cybersofts. You should post your reaction to all the news you share. Reading only the news is boring unless you post news only for the purpose of it.

In any case, executive positions in companies in Asia are only formalities. It might imply that Jihan lost control of Bitmain, however in actuality, Asians owners never give up control of their own companies. They only pass on the title.
7378  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-15] Bitcoin Mining Firm Canaan Slashes IPO Target and May Not Go Public on: November 16, 2018, 01:07:40 AM
An IPO is only another way to scam and collect money from the investors hehehe. Corrupt regulators can be bribed by companies to approve false filings of cash flow, assets and liabilities, and other information.

This is the same as an ICO, however in a regulated environment.
7379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night 139: Korean Zombie vs Rodriquez Info and Prediction Thread on: November 15, 2018, 01:24:24 AM
@fasdorcas. Watch the replay of the fight. I reckon there were occasions that Yair was hitting air with his elbows. But he was already doing them using different angles. The last one might be Yair knowing where the poor korean's head might be and getting the correct timing hehehe.
7380  Economy / Speculation / Re: ETF Will Kill Bitcoin For Good” Investors Express Skepticism on: November 15, 2018, 01:15:45 AM
@pooya87. The when can I become rich selling bitcoin type of attitude harmonizes with the description of bitcoin's function as a store of value for wealth. Would you say that the people's willingness to invest im bitcoin does not add any value to it?

Also, holding bitcoin as an investment has already occurred years before the ETF's proposal. How do you reckon does it give freedom if not by selling fiat for holding bitcoin?
