@Ronnie. What is the feedback on Westworld betting? Are your sportsbook teams interested in having it on the website?
6482  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-15] IRS turning its attention to recreational bitcoin investors on: June 27, 2019, 02:01:25 AM
@Carlton Banks. Also, everyone should deactivate their Facebook accounts, not only because of the up and coming Libra scam. It is worse than television. It is brainwashing us in ways much easier and deeper than before and turns us into sheep.
6483  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why was $13,800 unsustainable? on: June 27, 2019, 12:32:14 AM
The miners create 1800 bitcoin/ day, which means, with simple supply and demand, bitcoin will need ~$23.4 million of new investment/day just to buy the new bitcoin that is being created (not to mention holders selling new highs) to maintain that price.

I am not a miner and i am not a professional analyst, but is it possible that all miners sell their 1800 bitcoin a day? and why would all the miners sell their 1800 bitcoins a day? and about "holders". why would they sell their bitcoins? because I suppose that many of them are willing to hold for many more years

Agreed. That is why I blame Tom Lee. He told everyone in the beginning of this year that bitcoin's fair value is $14k. He is scamming with everyone. $14k is his target to dump hehehehe. He tricked us!

Instead of this, wouldn't a better use of their resources and time better directed to investigating certain multibillion and transnational companies for their tax evasion behavior? But of course, they'd like to target everyday Joes instead, with extremely tough tax codes that are hard to understand for specific circumstances.

Those corporations aren't tax evading. They're tax avoiding. They have enough lawyers to know that whatever they pull stands up to scrutiny even if it's offensive. That's perfectly legal and the conditions to foster it are created by legislators in the first place. If it's unintentional then that reflects poorly on their thoroughness.

Agreed. Those big corporations also often have the political connections to make some tax avoidance intentional hehehe.

Also, some banks help them evade taxes.

Dude, stop with the FUD. All tax avoidance is intentional, that is the definition of tax avoidance and there is nothing illegal about it. It is simply using the tax rules to your advantage, anyone can do it.

How do some banks help corporations evade taxes?  Your just spreading nonsense.

This is not fud. They not only help corporations or fellow bankers, some of them help drug cartels and other criminal organizations launder their money. You accuse me of fud? You open your eyes to the world you live in. The banks are not your friends.

Do you want proof? Stop using Facebook and begin using the web properly. All the information you need is available.
6485  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price should be $14,000 - Tom Lee on: June 26, 2019, 03:41:21 AM
@gentlemand. I know hehehe. I was not trying to convince you. However, I have respect in his resolve towards bitcoin and holding in spite of the bear market. I reckon most of us have also experienced those moments of uncertainty.

No word from any ASIC manufacturers if they are attempting to make Asics or not.

No, of course not hehe. It would be stupid to expect anything from manufacturers, big or small. However, if they want to, any manufacturer can, hopefully easily, which should be the most important part.
6487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: June 26, 2019, 03:07:28 AM
Has everyone in the thread sold on the pump? The thread has been quiet for the last 2 days hehehe. I reckon the miners must be selling now to hold bitcoin, similar to what other altcoin miners might be doing?
6488  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where's FOMO at? Tom Lee on: June 26, 2019, 02:33:03 AM
However, is the FOMO something to be excited about? The last time there was a FOMO, the dump followed. It always follows.

The permissioned vs permissionless argument has divided the blockchain sector, and those divisions can often get heated. Is there room for both?

it's not really an argument. permissioned blockchains simply don't address the problems that bitcoin solves. they are just a new take on existing trusted/custodial setups. it won't take long for people to realize they bare little difference from the same old banking institutions we've always had.

Agreed. However that will not stop JPMorgan or Facebook from creating them. Ripple have done it and tried to reach millions of users, but it failed. However, Facebook already has the advantage of having users by the billions.

I reckon that the people not in the cryptospace do not care about decentralization or privacy. They care about accessability and the ease of use. Also maybe free token giveaways from Facebook hehehe.

6491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bare Knuckle: Malignaggi vs Lobov June 22 on: June 25, 2019, 01:04:14 AM
@Baofeng. The fight was not as exciting as the altercations of the 2 outside of the ring hehe. It was Paulie, he did not show anything after all his tough talk.

@TravelMug. Paulie's hands are used to the big padded boxing gloves.
6492  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where's FOMO at? Tom Lee on: June 24, 2019, 03:04:50 AM
@Whaleagent. Agreed! Those people who are embracing regulations for the cryptospace do not know what is coming for them. I reckon they only want to be rich from holding.
6493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: June 24, 2019, 02:35:58 AM
We have not discussed the why of this pump. I was speculating that it might be a listing on Binance, however, Brian Armstrong said this.

A listing on Coinbase?

A scalable, sufficiently decentralized, chain that supported private transactions by default (privacy coins) would be a game changer.

6494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Libra vs. Bitcoin - What's the Dif? on: June 24, 2019, 02:02:36 AM
This altcoin developer shares his understading of what Libra might become. I reckon Facebook's motives might be more threatening than JPMorgan's in creating a dystopian society if he is right hehehe.

Also, according to the article the developer did some analysis and tests on Libra.

What is the intent behind Libra?

“Facebook is trying to build a global bank and is attempting to create a world currency. And it’s certainly doable, with usage across billions of individuals and the support of a large number of institutions. It’s an attempt to remake the global banking infrastructure.”

deVadoss elaborated:

“Libra is an attempt to build a global (central) bank that piggy-backs on existing central banks’ monetary policy, with the goal of taking over and eventually deprecating them.”

What kind of impact could Libra have?

“A shift in monetary policy from public officials to private corporations has a huge impact on consumer rights and privacy. This raises serious questions around global exchange and trade."

6495  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-06-24] Permissionless vs. Permissioned Blockchains, Argument Worth Having? on: June 24, 2019, 01:27:06 AM
The skeptical me suspects that more of these types articles will be released in the next 2 years to set Ripple's, Facebook's, JPMorgan's storyboards in the minds of the public that there is a need for their permissioned blockchains and the tokens that reside in them.

Satoshi Nakamoto’s whitepaper outlines a vision for a peer-to-peer payment system that runs on decentralized architecture and has no use for an authoritative middle-man. The idea of a permissioned blockchain was nowhere to be seen. (In fact, the word blockchain was not actually mentioned in the whitepaper at all.)

JPMorgan took that vision and created Quorum, a private, enterprise-level blockchain designed for corporate use, with an emphasis on strict privacy settings. They weren’t, of course, the only ones.

The permissioned vs permissionless argument has divided the blockchain sector, and those divisions can often get heated. Is there room for both?

6496  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price should be $14,000 - Tom Lee on: June 22, 2019, 03:02:42 AM
@gentlemand. He had some shit ones on 2018, however, it might take only one for 2019 to make up for them hehe. You should forgive him already, he is not perfect. But he would be with another dash of Jesse Livermore to add hehehe.
6497  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price should be $14,000 - Tom Lee on: June 22, 2019, 02:44:13 AM
$4000 more to go before Tom Lee becomes the most handsome man in bitcoin price speculation hehehe. He must be feeling like a combination of Tom Cruise, Bruce Lee and a dash of Warren Buffett today.
6498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2019-06-21]Ripple CEO: Bitcoin and XRP Aren't Competitors - I'm Long BTC on: June 22, 2019, 02:10:54 AM
He is right, Bitcoin and XRP aren't competitors.

Libra and XRP will be. I'm sure his balls are sweating knowing that they're basically running the same sort of governance model, and that they're easy to scale just like any other centralized network. The main difference is that Facebook's penetration potential into different financial systems has much better odds of actually being chosen for cross-border value transfers.

XRP will have to service the markets that for whatever reason exclude Facebook. That's what you get when your core business model revolves around a centralized network.

It might  also be a battle of who has stronger political connections to lobby their own platforms. I reckon Ripple investors', the people who invested in the company not the XRP holders, connections have been holding back the SEC from classifying XRP as a security.

30k satoshis was supposed to be my entry but I made the mistake of waiting for Aeon to pump again so I can sell to buy Grin hehehe. The pump never came, however.

In any case, I will continue to wait for my Grin $0.50 dream. Cry

Dollar $0.5 can be hard simply because bitcoin is expected to pump in next 1-2 years. After the pump the grin emission will not be that strong anymore so, ...  But who know we should also have next financial crisis at that time and that will be a real blow.

If there'll be a financial crisis, the prices of cryptocurrencies against dollar will jump even higher though! So his dream for $0.50 looks very unlikely no matter how you see it!

AEON huh? I think I was mining this shitcoin for sometime, back on the old good days when people hadn't overbought GPUs!

Agreed. I know I can buy on a better entry than now, however. I just need patience and wait for the monetary supply to function as it was designed.

Yes Aeon. It has better code than most cryptocoins and has a strong, however, small community supporting it. It is better than supporting a scamcoin hehehe.
6500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: June 22, 2019, 12:17:42 AM
We should learn something from Grin's transition.

Yup the transition will happen in 28 days when there will be more GRIN in existence then AEON. And it will never reverse again. A solid permanent transition.

The transition will occur slowly in a 2 year period, not in 28 days. By 2021, Grin will be 100% mined by Asic.

@smooth. Let's hope that the community will take the change positively. There are miners that want no change for as long as the make their money mining and dumping Aeon.
