741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's real exchange volume has now surpassed global gold exchange volume on: May 28, 2019, 10:01:09 PM
Fake volumes are manipulated and even exchanges couldn't do something about it so it's hard to believe that every trading volume that we see now isn't fake.
However, fake volume isn't a big deal because our focus is on Bitcoin's volume which I believe is true as well as its value.
The fake volumes are created by the exchange to be in the top list of the most traded volumes and i do not think that some people will create these fake volumes to help the exchanges, majority of the hyped volume cannot be determined by looking at the exchange, but you can analyze these things by understanding the amount of unique visitors a particular site is getting and the amount of trade that is going on at a particular time and if we can have those then we can have an approximate volume rather than believing what the exchange is providing.
742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen in the new bullrun without the past huge power of Tether? on: May 28, 2019, 09:29:50 PM
What do you mean by USDT as 'money printing machine?' For all I know, the main catalyst of the 2017 bull run was credit cards being used to purchase bitcoin and the futures market, and USDT being there just to, well, be a stablecoin and nothing more. Right now, Tether is in hot waters for not actually stating or showing a proof that they indeed have that much money to match any issued USDT in the open, yet they are still continuing to do what they always do. Sooner or later, Tether will be involved in some form of 'hack' that could potentially hurt millions of dollars of money converted into them in the meantime.
Future market was a major factor in the bull as well as tether was instrumental in pumping the price so high, during 2017 there were a lot of tether being created without any valid proof on that they are fully backed by dollars, if there is any market downfall then tether will be the main reason for that and i feel that something big is coming that could wipe the market by a big margin. Credit card usage were there, but that was not the main reason for the big rally, it was minuscule when compared to the amount of tether being created during that time.
743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC counter reaches zero. Now what? on: May 28, 2019, 08:59:08 PM
We will all probably be dead when this happens, but are there any thoughts on what the future will look like once every last Bitcoin has been mined?
Does BTC just end? Will transaction fees be enough to incentivize nodes to keep working?
I'm very curious about this. Thoughts?
There were many threads earlier regarding this topic, first it will take a long time for all the coins to get mined and second important factor is that the price would be so high and we need a better solution to counter the price when it comes to transaction charges, bigger blocks was one solution but the question remains how big the blocks can be and whether we can have a better solution than we have now to balance everything. Even now the miners will be earning a few extra bitcoins apart from 12.5 bitcoin they earn with every block and by that time the price will be that high that they will compensation with the transaction fees alone.
744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese citizens could safely hold Bitcoin on: May 28, 2019, 08:41:53 PM
However, this is a good news for Chinese crypto users. They could hold bitcoin legally without fear of government. I think the positive impact of this news would reflect on bitcoin price.

What you think about it?
So only exchanges are banned in China and anyone could trade bitcoin with exchanges from outside the country and P2P and OTC trading is legal, right now China is not in the map when it comes to bitcoin, earlier i still remember every news coming out from China could change the market situation and the amount of FUD and FOMO during those times we high, glad that it is all over and the government put an end to all those speculations. Cheesy
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Authorities Shut Down First Bitcoin Transaction Mixer on: May 28, 2019, 08:09:55 PM
Apparently this is the first time law enforcement has taken an action against crypto mixers.
It's funny because I am familiar with Bestmixer was just looking at it last week actually lol
Unfortunately bestmixer is the first mixing service that came under fire from the authorities and some of the mixing services closed their service earlier fearing these sort of actions will come once the bitcoin market become more mainstream and i am not convinced with the way they took them down, they cannot pin point one thing that they did, all the authorities say is that they helped in money laundering, which is a broader term and it is very difficult to sort these type of issues and today bitblender has closed their service too after this incident, we now have chipmixer and will see how long they will last.
746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India on Bitcoin: Will the Newly Elected Indian Government Pass Crypto-Friendly on: May 28, 2019, 07:16:44 PM
I feel that the Indian government has already learned by secretly about cryptocurrency because they are not doing a fast action to banning the cryptocurrency.
Maybe they need more time to get the result from what they learn, and I am hoping that will change their decision to banning the cryptocurrency.
It is sad if they still want to ban the crypto because as I said before, the people cannot continue what they did in cryptocurrency and probably, they will lose all that they start in cryptocurrency.
Since they have big resources in information technology sector we should believe that they must be crypto friendly and with facebook recently announcing their plan to launch their own crypto currency and India being a big market for facebook we must consider that there should be some sort of regulatory framework being done rather than an outright ban, i am not aware of the political situation in India but being a big democracy in the world we expect a fair ruling.
747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Rising, Scams Rising on: May 28, 2019, 06:37:32 PM
Most of the users here receive their coins from bounty campaigns and signatures. In the vast majority of the cases, they are not investing any of their fiat money in to crypto. And this is the main reason why most of us behave somewhat carelessly while dealing with cryptos. Another reason can be a sense of over-confidence, that the hackers are never going to target their wallet.
Many people are careless and so is the reason these scammers are taking advantage of the ignorance and the curiosity to increase the profit in a short cut is the biggest problem, people think that they could increase their profit by investing in platforms that promises good returns than the banking sector and people will jump into those thinking they can earn easy profits, if people understand the risk they are taking, these kind of scams will end and it is not about free coins they get or being over confident but the lure of doubling without any effort is the main reason.
748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still bother to engage non Bitcoiners? on: May 28, 2019, 06:20:31 PM
My friends are still arguing with me about the legality of bitcoin, but they cannot change my mind because I understand cryptocurrency and I know bitcoin is really here for us which they can't accept since they are bankers and working in financial institution. We can't please them, let that debates continues until they become a hodler because they will see the potential if big companies started to create their own cryptocoins.

p.s - I'm not a member of those "internet creeps", please don't judge me.  Grin
If you are living in a country with no regulation, then there is no point in debating the legality of bitcoin until there is a decision from the authorities, it depends upon how they view the market and how well they can frame a regulations knowing the difficulties they have to encounter since it is a global medium and cannot be restricted easily. There is no point convincing anyone who is not interested in the new technology, it is a waste of your time.
749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: THE OLD AND NEW MINING BITCOIN SCAM ALWAYS on: May 28, 2019, 05:24:49 PM
So dont trust these Forex Traders or Minining helps ! They are just SCAM SCAM SCMA ! Stay safe guys !
There are many scammers luring in telegram too, if you contact any support of any exchange regarding your issue in telegram, you will see many messages popping up informing you that they are from the customer support and they are out there to scam your money and they will talk really well to convince you and that is what scammers do, it is a serious issue that everyone should understand and never deal anyone outside the site you are dealing with and never send any coins to any wallet.
750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 61-year Old Chinese Grandma Convicted For Stealing Electricity To Mine Bitcoin on: May 28, 2019, 04:48:51 PM
Sadly this is good news for me. Somebody has been caught stealing something from the source of power in their country. It's good that she's had been caught by doing that. There's no room in cheaters in this world and she cheated both cryptocurrency and the Chinese government.
Consider that you have a old person in your home and you talk to them about bitcoin mining, do you really think that they will understand anything about it, the situation i see here is that, her grand son or grand daughter might have done these things and in order to save them from going to jail she helped them out and took the punishment instead, it is a different culture altogether in Asia and they will protect your kid even if they do something illegal.
751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Compilation:The most stupid questions about Satoshi... on: May 28, 2019, 04:22:14 PM
More importantly: does it really matter what Satoshi thinks? Us hearing Satoshi's opinion on things would only do more harm than good. Surely one of the reasons why Satoshi preferred to stay hidden is to prevent bias when the community is debating on things(scaling solutions, etc).
I have a different opinion when it comes to scaling, if Satoshi was around i am sure he might come up with a good solution that would be acceptable to everyone, if he can invent something that looked like impossible before bitcoin, i am sure he might have some idea about the scaling issue we had to encounter too, because he never created bitcoin for a selected group of people, he invented for the entire world to use.

The moment Craig was given the copyright to the original bitcoin whitepaper, Australian tax authority raided his house for an age old tax evasion case. The link below will confirm the news,

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/dec/09/bitcoin-founder-craig-wrights-home-raided-by-australian-police
Even though majority of us don't believe he is the creator of bitcoin.
I don't think Satoshi deserves such kind of treatment for innovating bitcoin at all. I have been saying this thing in every Satoshi related threads that, please let him live the life he deserves! Don't try to find him!
The raid on Craig is not related with the copyright he was given, the Australian tax authorities were behind that after the media outlets came up with the conclusion that he is the person behind Satoshi, no one can claim that unless there is substantial proof and we have none till now.
I respect the privacy Satoshi wanted and i would not want anyone to be a stalker if he wanted a private life, respect privacy.
752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Satoshi Created a Telegram group or Channel? on: May 28, 2019, 02:47:24 PM
So that's it. According to my research, Telegram came into existence around August 2013 so definitely Satoshi Nakamoto could not use one but come to think of it...would he use Telegram if it was already operating back in 2008 or 2009? Maybe yes or maybe no. IRC was very popular years ago and of course we already have the email option in communication so these were two good channels for him.
Satoshi would use any encrypted service that really takes care of security and Telegram is one such service and if it was active during his time he will use that service, he would have used IRC with TOR enabled and if he used to chat in that, he made sure he was secure with his communication and the E mail service he used to communicate was Anonymous Speech and GMX as far as i remember.
@OP the answer is clear, since Telegram was created well after his online presence he never had a Telegram group.
753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cuban government stance on Bitcoin, blockchain and cryptocurrencies. on: May 28, 2019, 08:40:31 AM
Would anyone have informations, press releases or official statements from Cuba (Government or newspaper or experts) on the status of legality of our beloved ecosystem on the island?

Feel free to post links even if in spanish.
Any links to Cuban crypto communities also.

Any types of informations regarding Cuban communities and/or legal status (regulated, unregulated or banned)
Hopefully you are from Cuba and glad to see that you have an internet connect, since this thread came up i just googled and found that the residents are able to use internet in their mobile phone from December 6, 2018  Shocked. I never thought there are people who are restricted like this around the world apart from North Korea and some Arab countries. All i know about Cuba is that they have world class wrestler and boxers but did not knew that they are living in a dictatorship kind of environment without any freedom, with the internet being available now to residents am i sure the government will view it as a luxury item and i have no idea how they view the virtual market or whether they have a firewall like China.

The Internet Finally Makes Its Way to Cuba, but How Will Cubans Embrace Bitcoin and Blockchain?

Note: Carollzinha and CryptoBry has linked the news before me, either way i am not editing it as it is my source of knowing about Cuba as well.
754  Other / Off-topic / Re: The end of all ends on: May 27, 2019, 09:49:34 PM
I don't think that Bitcoin will become useless. By that I don't mean that it might not be replaced with something else but despite that possibility it will continue to exist and there will be people who will use it
New emerging technologies and artificial intelligence are providing endless possibilities so I'm sure in one moment something more advanced and successful than Bitcoin will appear but that doesn't mean that Bitcoin will be completely terminated.
As long as the development when it comes to faster transactions lower fees are on the right track there is nothing to worry, bitcoin was meant to be used by everyone even in the poorest countries with minimal network penetration and will be the bank for the people who are not having the privilege to have their own bank account, when i started out that was the goal and that was echoing in the entire community, now things have changed and until there is a better solution nothing is replacing bitcoin.
755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You may not like CSW... on: May 27, 2019, 09:19:40 PM
But you cannot say he is not Satoshi the inventor of Bitcoin.  After all, look at all of his patents and now even the US government is awarding copyrights to him which can ONLY be given to the original author.  It's a fact: CSW is Satoshi.

Cry all you like, you won't change the facts.
Since you claim that you help him with filing all these patents and trademarks and you are really close to Craig, why not you advice him that the easiest thing to do is to sign a message from the genesis block and prove that he is legit, will you tell that he will do that in the next ten years or he lost those addresses  Roll Eyes. You really do not need to go to these lengths to prove that he is the creator, just advice him to sign the genesis block but i am sure he will have another excuse for doing so  Cheesy.
756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Old Hacker news discussion about Bitcoin on: May 27, 2019, 08:54:03 PM
Found some replies regarding bitcoin in the old hacker news websites. You just have to to look at the first reply and see how 'ignorant' people are back in the early days.  Grin. We can't blame them though, we haven't seen this kind of technology before, so it's understandable that people will question its intention and the impact it could 'potentially' bring to the world.
Those are genuine questions that anyone will have before the entire market blasted through the roof, how will you understand something like this could ever happen until it starts functioning and it was really hard for anyone to understand during that time to know what it mean by a currency without the support of any government, so those responses are genuine to the core as everyone had those questions when you first heard about a decentralized currency.
757  Economy / Speculation / Re: what will happen if BTC hit 1.000.000$ on: May 27, 2019, 08:27:49 PM
if that really happens
i guess paper money (fiat) will not be valid or not useful anymore, many wealthy people appear. the price of goods is getting more expensive, just imagine a crypto (bitcoin) worth 1 million dollars. that is crazy lol.
May i ask how you came to a conclusion like this, if the price of bitcoin touches those valuation how come paper money will loose its valuation, i would like to hear your theory regarding that  Roll Eyes Tongue . Do you really think that the general expense will increase if the price of bitcoin increases, what kind of commerce analogy is that dude  Cheesy. If people invest when the price was right, then they could make some money and nothing else. The world will move on as normal.
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still bother to engage non Bitcoiners? on: May 27, 2019, 08:00:26 PM
It is very hard to change people's beliefs because it is something they have held on to for a very long time. Just leave them to believe whatever they want, after all, their belief doesn't affect you in any other way. Just keep doing what you believe in.
It is a new market and what belief do they have if they know nothing about the market, you need some patience and skills to learn about a new market and it is not that easy for someone who is not interested to understand how the market works or how to evaluate a market which has no physical presence, there is no point in arguing with anyone who is not interested to learn, but i do engage in healthy debates every now and then  Grin.
759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big Merchants Now Accepting Bitcoin on: May 27, 2019, 07:19:32 PM
it proves that bitcoin has started to be widely accepted in the industry and I hope in the future there will be more companies that can accept bitcoin and even small companies.
Major merchants are accepting bitcoin but not world wide, there are accepting at a particular area and not in the entire US too from what i understand, it is a major win for bitcoin even if they are accepting in one or two stores of a global brand but when they will be accepting it in all the branches world wide is yet to be seen and if they start accepting it in all the stores of their brand then it is a major news.
760  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2020's gonna be lit!! on: May 27, 2019, 06:41:10 PM
Next year is gonna be a lotta excitement for all of us the Bitcoin community and cryptospace at large. Should this be anither "parabolic move," Bitcoin ia gonna soar high because

It does not bring anything to bitcoin and only time will tell how this is going to end up.
