741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who decides the Proof of work on: September 14, 2015, 02:23:26 PM
The easiest analogy where most people seem to get it is the lottery one. Miners play a lottery to win the price (the Bitcoin reward) and the more hashing power the more tickets (chances of winning).
742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to get 100% anonymous bitcoins? on: September 14, 2015, 02:21:07 PM
The only way to get anonymous Bitcoins 100% would be to mine them, because they are freshly minted and have no past transaction history.
The second tier of anonymity would be to get paid in Bitcoin directly (never due a 3rd party payment system such as Bitwage, Bitpay and whatnot)
The third tier would be an IRL exchange of Bitcoin for cash
Beyond this tier I think it's useless to talk about anonymity.
743  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: September 11, 2015, 08:04:02 PM
The problem is if you go full bitcoin you will need to pay taxes because you can't pay bills and certain things in Bitcoins, so you will need to make more than you do now.
Forum signature campaigns dont pay enough and I don't see any other way to make money. It requires too much time.
I need to find a way to get money off doing nothing thought interest so I can live a no stress lifestyle. I was looking into the loans thing but everthing seems like a scam.
744  Economy / Economics / Re: Did Bitcoin Ruin Your Life, Or Help Your Life? on: September 11, 2015, 07:48:19 PM
I surely thing many bitcoin miners got their lives ruined. Especially those that earned millions of dollars out of bitcoin mining.

How bad it is for you to be a 9-5 worker in a slave job, and suddenly become a millionaire, who is financially free and can buy anything they want.

I think its a total life ruination, I prefer to remain a slave of the system, rather than becoming a millionaire, because it is very trendy to be a slave.

(sarcasm)

True, but a lot of people bought at the top of the last bubble and will probably sell at a big loss because they aren't (or can't afford) to wait for the next ATH.
Other peoples lifes got ruined because they realized they could have been millionaires if they didnt ignore Bitcoin in the early days.
745  Economy / Economics / Re: Dollar coming to an end on: September 11, 2015, 07:40:55 PM
nor Dollar or any other Currency will come to an end, because for Bitcoins their should be some currency to convert, if not their is no value for bitcoins. Only the Dollar fluctuation gives the strength to Bitcoins, because who ever wants to keep or invest in Bitcoins on the end of the Day he/she wants to convert Bitcoins to their Country currency.

well, there are people who don't connect bitcoin to any kind of fiat currency. they see 1 btc as 1 btc and not as 1 btc being worth $240. but it is a very small minority who think this way.

I think it's impossible to think this way simply because to value something you need to be able to buy tons of things with it. Until you can buy with Bitcoin anything you can buy with fiat then it will make sense, until then Bitcoin is tied to fiat.
746  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Tragedy of the Core on: September 11, 2015, 07:39:30 PM
Bitcoin works ok if you pay the normal fee. If you want to pay 0 fees, then expect problems. Isn't this a given by now? we can't stay and super mega low fees forever, so pay your goddamned fee (which is the same if you are paying 1 or 1000000000000000000 dollars).
747  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction: $$460 in 2017 on: September 11, 2015, 07:21:17 PM
The market is too small, any whale can manipulate it at will. What we know is

1) Bitcoin is insanely undervalued objectively, and it's marketcap is worth trillions
2) Those trillions will come sooner or later

But we don't know when that will happen, so you better hold and dont try to play the market much.
748  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin= 1M$ tomorrow. What you will do? on: September 11, 2015, 07:19:20 PM
The cash out guys, are you aware that you would need to pay ridiculous amounts of taxes if you made millions out of nowhere? I haven't looked it up and I don't really wanna know, but I expect insane taxes on capital gains so you would need a couple Bitcoins to make 1 million dollars and in the future, 1 million dollars will buy you less than it does now too.
749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stress test is underway - Watch your fees. on: September 11, 2015, 07:11:13 PM
I will reduce my Bitcoin transactions as much as possible during this "stress test". There was enough time to prepare myself and I did that.
There isn't any problem if you use the standard fee. I have done lots of transactions during the test and not a single one gave me problems except if I wanted to get cheap with the fees.
750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain stocks on: September 11, 2015, 07:09:54 PM
I think the best way to invest in Bitcoin is holding Bitcoin honestly. Unless I had some specific plans and knowledge about it, I would just limit myself to stack up on Bitcoin. By investing on Bitcoin you are indirectly investing on all Bitcoin related companies anyway.
751  Economy / Speculation / Re: How will the stress test effect the price? on: September 10, 2015, 04:41:01 PM
Well, unless the stress test doesn't start being stressful soon, it will prove two things: The demand for a QUICK OR ITS DOOMSDAY type of blocksize increase schelude is insane, and two, it does nothing to the price, in fact its going up since a while ago again.
752  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another Goxing?! Amagi Metals? on: September 10, 2015, 04:13:31 PM
Sad to see. It was a relatively frequent example for a business that went full BTC. Well, I guess they didn't fully believe in BTC to stay long term otherwise they were stupid enough to not plan things long term and don't be aware that BTC will be long a low price for a long time before we start going to the moon.
753  Economy / Economics / Re: What can greece central bank do? on: September 10, 2015, 03:54:12 PM

We basically need a true capitalism in a sense.

Cause those bails out and failed banks that did get one is a form of socialism. So the true meaning goes, socialism for the rich, capitalism for the poor (making people think its all equal).

Haha I just laugh at the picture I posted there. Actually it can be paid off partially with negative interest rates which = a huge robbery / bail-in of the savers funds.

But after all funds are stolen, you have to print again money to pay off the rest, which will end up the same as it was before. Its a cancerous system.

I agree that pure capitalism is needed, not this corporate-communist central planned system, but good luck selling that to your average 70 IQ socialist, who actually benefits from this ponzi scheme by getting tons of welfare.

What is pure capitalism to you? 0% taxes on anything and no public services?
What happens with the people that legitimately need welfare and what happens with the people that fail to make a living and resort to crime to get basic needs covered?
754  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: September 10, 2015, 03:51:00 PM
Just avoid spending money on things that you won't need for a long time. Materialistic ideology is very bad.

Despite that great remark.

Most will never be able to do this. Just like how you see people line up the latest 8th version of a iphone, they still will go grab it.

Phones are very addictive and one of the biggest sources of stupid usage of money. I have been with the same phone since more than 5 years and only now im getting to a point where trying to browse the internet with it is just a massive chore and might be forced to upgrade. I hope that after this I dont need to upgrade again.

I will certainly be interested to hear how Chinese cars are accepted into European markets.  I do understand that if *might* be easier for China to grab some low-end car sales in Greece (cheap cars), but I still would be interested to hear from ANYONE re acceptance of Chinese cars in their markets.

Chinese cars started showing up in Peru maybe some four years ago.  Cheap but low quality.  Counting buses and trucks, there are some 80 brands in Peru alone...  Chinese car manufacturers bloodbath soon?

My understanding is that Singapore has a huge oil refining industry and is one of the top two or three transshipment ports in the world.  They also have carved out something of a niche in secret banking, although with capital controls all over the world, I do not know how that effort is going.

Hi my favourite thread on btctalk, there is nice to talk with you here

Some time ago Chinise have bought Volvo,Swedish car maker,Great mark, wondeful cars ,very strong and very safe

It was some shock for Swedish people, but thay said ,wewill never sell Saab,Saab is even better, famous becouse of Rally, same great mark and cars

Than Chinise bought Saab also, thay have investedsome money in both mark and voila ,You have made in sweden chinise cars, best possible, germans cant block sales of both mark,no against chinise

But now i know Chinise will produce in Europe some hi scars. Not big problem,Korean Kia and Hyundai are in Europe from years

Singapore i dont know so much,it is specific area, with many smart business people, mostly Chinse orgin.Singapore is some how window bridge to China, also thay are related to Australia

People you are going out of everything with these posts. Here must be talk about Greece and not about China, Singapore, Korea, Sweden or Moon and Sun. It is in vain write about those nations in a thread open about the crisis in Greece. So attention and mind in what you write.

n2004al

I think it is fair to write about other countries and how they may relate to Greece or its financial conditions.  Many lessons can be learned by looking at other's experiences.

Greece may be looking at a Venezuela-style catastrophe (I don't KNOW that, but it might be).  There are other countries that share some of Greece's problems, and we can look at their actions and results.

So, yes, this thread is about Greece.  But, relatively little has happened there in the past few days that we can really analyze.  So, IMO, it is OK to look at other situations that have some similarities with Greece as well as items like Chinese cars that *might* be coming to Greece.  And then to Europe.

Greece is also a lesson and a warning to the rest of Europe.  Greece may be leading the way re Europe, the immigration crisis there is affecting Greece a lot (along with Hungary, etc.).

Greece and the context of how Greece fits into the larger financial system is fair game IMO on this thread.

You are right. the other experiences count but at the posts I am referring there is nothing that can help of can be as a experience for Greece. I will post you here some of the thoughts that are totally out of the needed experience for Greece:

1. I will certainly be interested to hear how Chinese cars are accepted into European markets.  I do understand that if *might* be easier for China to grab some low-end car sales in Greece (cheap cars), but I still would be interested to hear from ANYONE re acceptance of Chinese cars in their markets.

How can help Greece this thought to leave the crisis. There are no money for eating there and we are talking about buying Chinese cars.

2. Some time ago Chinise have bought Volvo,Swedish car maker,Great mark, wondeful cars ,very strong and very safe.

You think that Greece have money to buy Volvo or some else trademark of cars? And you think that this is the solution for the crisis of Greece?

3. But now i know Chinise will produce in Europe some hi scars. Not big problem,Korean Kia and Hyundai are in Europe from years.

I'm struggling my mind to find the connection between this thought with the crisis in Greece, Can you? And can you find how this will help the Greeks to solve their crisis?

I can find to many thoughts like those. And those are the reason of my post.

Wow China bought Volvo? that's sad to see, Volvo cars were so robust and trusted. I guess it will turn into a pile of shit just like all China manufactured stuff. And even if its not manufactured stuff I assume they will find ways to make cost of production cheaper, ruining the brand.
756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: who of you uses btc in deep web (and how)? on: September 10, 2015, 03:43:48 PM
I don't and never will. Last thing I need is getting involved in any of that. I treat BTC like a long term investment because I like the technology, so its all holding for me, and the occasional shopping of computer parts or something I need, that's all.
757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Based Trustless Betting Platfrom? on: September 10, 2015, 03:41:47 PM
Does this even exist? I was once searching for "trustless decentralized gambling" in google and all I saw as proof of concepts and stuff like that.
What's not trustable enough about sites like Satoshidice etc tho?
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [idea] Cards to leave at businesses asking them to accept Bitcoin as a payment on: September 10, 2015, 03:30:20 PM
I would gladly do this, im sick and tired of having to go to the bank/do some bank transaction to convert my Bitcoin in order to spend them, it totally defeats the purpose. I want to go to any shop and be able to buy with them. Unfortunately I have no graphic design skills to do the card.
759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT - Officially #REKT (also goes for BIP101 fraud) on: September 10, 2015, 03:00:49 PM
I dont really understand the anti blockstream guys. Are you delusional enough to think Bitcoin will escale to surpass VISA without blockstream? wake up man, time to smell the coffee. On-chain transactions will have to be go under a fee market cos there isnt any other way around it that doesnt involve centralization of nodes.
760  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: September 10, 2015, 02:57:22 PM
I love using bitcoin  Kiss  Just wish that more shopping sites would accept it.

There are a lot of places to spend your Bitcoin but if by shopping you mean clothing sites or whatever I don't think so. I would like to see places like Footlocker, A&C etc accepting so I dont need to change BTC for fiat to buy some new clothes.
